00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today we're talking about an exciting topic for all fans of electric mobility.
00:08The new range record for an electric motorcycle, the Faro.
00:13This electric two-wheeler from Finland recently achieved an impressive feat,
00:18covering around 310 kilometers on a single battery charge.
00:22The journey took place around the British capital, London,
00:26and according to the display, there was still some range left at the end.
00:30The Wurge TS-Pro, manufactured in Estonia, is powered by a 20.2 kWh battery,
00:38making it officially the electric motorcycle with the longest documented range on a single charge.
00:44The record-breaking experiment was driven by Sam Clark and Sarah Sloman,
00:49who took turns riding through Greater London in just over 16 hours.
00:54Wurge did not provide any information on the average speed of the journey,
00:58but simple calculations show that it was around 20 km per hour.
01:03This is typical given the heavy traffic in a metropolis like London.
01:07The conclusion, the TS-Pro is ideal for the daily commute in the city,
01:14without having to constantly worry about recharging.
01:19However, the situation is less ideal for longer journeys between two distant locations.
01:24Burge itself states a range of around 200 km for the TS-Pro when driving at a constant speed of around 90 km per hour.
01:33The official combined range, i.e. a mix of city and motorway traffic, is around 190 km.
01:42With quiet city driving with plenty of stops and starts,
01:46and a rider weight of around 75 kg, up to 350 km should be possible.
01:51A key technical advantage of the TS-Pro is its rear hub motor.
01:59By eliminating a traditional motor in the frame,
02:01more space was created for the battery, which benefits the range.
02:06The battery can be charged via direct current with up to 25 kW,
02:11which is rather slow compared to modern electric cars.
02:14But it is still sufficient to charge from 0 to 80% in 35 minutes.
02:20Up to 3.5 kW is possible via alternating current,
02:24which is ideal for a full charge overnight.
02:27In terms of performance, the Burge TS-Pro delivers a maximum of 139 hp
02:33and a massive 1000 Nm of torque.
02:37This enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 3.5 seconds.
02:42Weighing around 245 kg, the motorcycle is comparatively light.
02:48For even more power, Burge offers the TS-Ultra.
02:52It delivers 205 hp, 1200 Nm of torque,
02:57and a slightly larger battery with 21.8 kWh.
03:01This should give it a range of around 375 km in the city.
03:07Burge currently operates 3 vehicles in Europe and 2 in the United States.
03:11However, deliveries in the USA have been delayed until the end of this year
03:16due to a lengthy homologation process.
03:19The TS-Pro and TS-Ultra models are then expected to be available there
03:23with a standardized Naxx charging port.
03:26Prices range from approximately 27,600 euros for the TS-Pro
03:31and around 41,400 euros for the TS-Ultra.
03:34As always, you'll find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
