00:04Today we're talking about the VW ID Era,
00:06one of three new concept vehicles that Volkswagen presented at the Shanghai Show.
00:11In addition to the ID Era, the group also presented the ID Aura and ID Evo models,
00:17all of them electric concept cars, each belonging to a Chinese joint venture.
00:23While the ID Aura comes from FAU Volkswagen, the Evo from Volkswagen An,
00:28and the ID Era is represented by SAS Volkswagen.
00:31They are all derived from the ID Code concept car shown in 2024,
00:36which serves as a stylistic blueprint for future VW models in China.
00:41Volkswagen plans to launch over 30 new models in China by the end of 2027,
00:4620 of which fall under the NES umbrella.
00:49These include all-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, range extenders, and fuel cell vehicles.
00:55The ID Aura, like the other two concepts, will be part of this electrified product offensive.
01:04The ID Aura itself is a large SUV with three rows of seats and a range extender concept.
01:11In pure electric mode, the vehicle can travel around 300 kilometers.
01:16When the battery is empty, a combustion engine kicks in, recharging the battery via a generator.
01:21This, together with the fuel tank, results in a combined range of more than 700 kilometers.
01:28A total of around 1,000 kilometers without the need to visit a charging station or gas station.
01:36This makes the IDRA ideal for long-distance trips and for families who value plenty of space and flexibility.
01:42Particularly forward-looking is the fact that all three vehicles are equipped with AI-supported systems for highly automated driving.
01:51Starting next year, they are expected to be capable of semi-autonomous driving at level 2+.
01:57This means that the vehicles, under the supervision of the driver, will independently perform overtaking maneuvers, turning maneuvers, and merging into traffic.
