00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog on the topic of the Beijing X5.
00:11As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
00:17The predecessor was already available in Germany, now the new generation of the X55 is launching.
00:23Compared to its predecessor, quite a few things have changed.
00:26While the previous model still came with an interchangeable design and eye-catching chrome makeup, the new edition presents itself with more modern lines.
00:37Depending on the viewing angle, the proportions are reminiscent of the Mercedes GLC, while some details also feature elements from the Korean manufacturers Hyundai and Kia.
00:47The new model has grown significantly, with a length of 4.60 cm.
00:52The X55 leaves the compact SUV segment and moves towards the mid-range.
00:59Despite its size, the trunk volume of 380L is rather modest.
01:05For comparison, a VW Golf offers a similar loading volume, while many SUV competitors offer significantly more space here.
01:13A special feature is the carpeting, which covers not only the double-loading floor, but also the sidewalls.
01:21This protects against scratches on plastic surfaces when loading and unloading.
01:26The rear seat backrests can be folded down to create a nearly flat loading area.
01:32Inside, the X5 impresses with its generous amount of space.
01:35The rear seat is mounted high enough so that even people with long legs can sit comfortably.
01:42Despite the standard panoramic glass sunroof, there is still sufficient headroom.
01:47The materials used, including synthetic leather and microfiber fabric, appear to be of high quality and solid workmanship.
01:55Unlike many manufacturers, the interior is not artificially enhanced by marketing terms.
02:00The front seats have a heating and cooling function.
02:06However, the pronounced side bolsters can be uncomfortable for taller people, as they press on the shoulder blades.
02:14However, a suitable seating position can be found thanks to a steering wheel that can be adjusted for height and reach.
02:20The driver looks at digital instruments that display all relevant information in an easy-to-read manner.
02:25The driver assistance systems can also be controlled from here, including via a third steering column stock that is reminiscent of the design of Mercedes.
02:35In addition to adaptive cruise control, there is also a blind spot warning system and a lane departure warning system on board.
02:42The X55 has thus undergone significant improvements in terms of safety features.
02:47An infotainment display with a screen diagonal of 10 inches and one-tenth is located in the center of the dashboard.
02:57Direct smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is not possible.
03:03Instead, the Carbit app must be used or a Bluetooth connection must be used.
03:08Under the hood is a four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 1L and 50CL.
03:13The turbo engine produces 177 horsepower and delivers up to 275 Nm to the front wheels.
03:24The noise level is decent, and the engine offers sufficient power delivery.
03:30The chassis is comfortably tuned, but still provides good feedback on the road conditions.
03:35The automatic transmission works reliably and always finds the right gear ratio.
03:41However, the X55 is not particularly economical in terms of fuel consumption.
03:45On average, the SUV uses 8L and 4T per 100 km.
03:52Efficient technologies such as electrification or automatic start-stop are missing.
03:57However, the X55 scores points in terms of price.
04:00The new price is €29,995.
04:05The standard equipment is extensive and includes, among other things, parking sensors at the front and rear,
04:11a 360-degree camera, 19-inch rims and the panoramic glass sunroof.
04:17Buyers also benefit from a three-year new vehicle warranty from the German importer.
