00:25Particularly eye-catching is the revised dashboard with a larger touchscreen, which gives the small four-door a modern flair.

00:40The Australian version of the MG5, which was revised after the disastrous zero-star result at Capa Monza, now has a three-star rating from the production date of November 2024.
00:50Models manufactured before this date, however, will retain their zero-star rating.
01:00The current MG5 has been upgraded with new standard safety systems such as belt tensioners and belt force limiters at the front and rear,
01:07an improved emergency braking assistance system and an active lane-keeping assistant.

01:50Despite the upgrade, the MG5 sedan remains true to its affordable claim.
01:57In Australia, the price currently starts at around âŹ23,000 for the basic Vibe version thanks to a special offer,
02:04while the top Essence version is around âŹ28,000.
02:06Both versions are extremely competitive given their equipment.
02:15Among other things, the Vibe has 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with twilight sensor,
02:21keyless entry, air conditioning, imitation leather upholstery,
02:24a 10-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration, cruise control, six airbags,
02:29tire pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors and an emergency braking assistant.
02:33The Essence version adds 17-inch wheels, a sunroof, electrically adjustable driver's seat,
02:44heated and automatically folding mirrors, shift paddles, additional speakers and a 360-degrees camera.
02:54Features such as wireless smartphone mirroring, inductive charging or automatic air conditioning
02:59are still missing, but would be desirable additions in a later version.
03:05In terms of engines, the tried and tested 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engines remain.
03:10The naturally aspirated engine produces 115 horsepower and 150 newton-meters
03:16and is coupled to a continuously variable transmission.
03:19The turbo version delivers 163 horsepower and 250 newton-meters
03:24and is linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
03:29According to the factory, fuel consumption is 6.6L per 100 kilometers
03:33for the naturally aspirated engine and 6.4L for the turbo version.
03:40The MG5's handling is impressive with its comfortable suspension,
03:44even with the larger tires of the Essence version.
03:46Compared to smaller SUVs, the sedan is pleasant to drive and offers quite agile road-holding,
03:54even if the noise level in the interior is somewhat higher.
04:00The cabin is generously proportioned and practically designed with plenty of storage space in the doors
04:05and in the center tunnel as well as a spacious storage compartment under the dashboard.
04:08There is also plenty of space in the rear,
04:13even for taller passengers and useful details such as air vents, map slots and a USB-A port.
04:21The boot holds 401L and can be expanded if necessary using the folding rear seat bench,
04:27although the opening is a bit small.
04:28Overall, the MG5 offers excellent value for money and remains a real recommendation
04:38for anyone looking for a well-equipped, spacious and affordable car in the 2025 model year,
04:43especially in times when vehicles seem to be getting more and more expensive.
