01:42And it is about gardening, growing your own food
01:46Growing your own fruits, your own vegetables, your own flowers
01:52Which I have done all of the above
01:55But I'm just getting back into it again
01:58And I'm excited about
02:02It's something about working with the soil
02:04And I don't know if you have done that before
02:06But working with the soil, it is so therapeutic
02:10It's not only growing something
02:14But it is really, it releases, I've heard that it releases
02:17Those good endorphins, serotonin in our bodies
02:22That we're creating
02:23And in this time and moment
02:26I think growing our own things is the way to go
02:30Just like our ancestors, our grandparents
02:33People that came before us grew from the earth
02:36And I think they were on to something
02:39And we need to get back to that
02:40That they were on to something?
02:44They might not have had a choice
02:45But to grow their own stuff
02:46Absolutely
02:47I mean, and not having a choice
02:51You know, the grocery store
02:53And the food supply that we have
02:55Systems that we have in place now
02:57I mean, I, this is just my opinion
03:01I think that they're more fragile
03:03Than we would like to admit
03:05And disruptions to food supply
03:09I think that that is a real
03:11I think that that can really happen
03:15So growing your own food
03:18Is where I am right now
03:21So

03:26I, well, during COVID
03:29I started container growing tomatoes and peppers
03:33And was really diligent with it
03:36And had really success with growing
03:38Growing some edible things that me and my dad ate
03:42Here at the house
03:43Had you done that before?
03:45I had not
03:46This is my first time
03:46You had done it before that time?
03:47Not fruits and vegetables
03:49I always grow tulips
03:51I have always grown tulips
03:53Planted them in October
03:54And seen them come up in the spring
03:56And had really much success
03:59I think last year
04:01All of my bulbs were rotted or something
04:05I just had very few bulbs
04:06But where I am now
04:08This is like four years later from COVID
04:12That I feel the need to get back into it
04:17And in fact
04:18I went to a community gardening class yesterday
04:21And it was just working with the soil
04:26And being with other gardeners that were planting
04:29I have not grown anything from seeds
04:33So we were beginning to grow things from seeds
04:36And just learning about soil
04:38And the components in soil
04:40It was beautiful
04:42Well, how did you grow the tomatoes?
04:44I mean, you just bought them already?
04:46I just bought the plants
04:47I just bought already plants
04:49I did not from seeds
04:50I just bought plants
04:51And bought the containers
04:53And planted them
04:55Put the steak in there
04:56Tied them around
04:57And they produced
04:59And I had no idea about the soil
05:02And the pH balance
05:03And the city tea
05:05And all of that
05:06But that's what I'm learning now
05:08Last week I went to a class
05:10And went to a class two times this week
05:14You know, I watch Top Chef
05:19Absolutely
05:21Yeah
05:22And I know a lot of the chefs
05:25They're passionate about sustainable foods
05:29And things like that
05:29And there's been a handful or more times
05:33That they show like places
05:37In urban places
05:40In like New York or Chicago
05:42And other metro cities
05:44Where they're teaching children
05:47To grow their foods
05:49And they have those places
05:50Where chefs go in
05:51And help the communities
05:52Learn how to do that
05:53So it
05:54All
05:55You know, although
05:56It's not my gig necessarily
05:58I might need to learn
05:59Right

06:03In a lot of different places
