00:06i'm joined by luke owen dad this week the tuesday episode the raw review it's a bit different
00:11you'll notice that we are doing this pre-recorded this isn't a live stream there will be no chats
00:17it's because i can't stop sneezing yeah hopefully i will not be sneezing for the next hour i think
00:23i'll just have a tickly nose but we can't trust me not to sneeze live but yes that brings us to

01:11be quite um quite impactful i've never had one of these sort of things before like i know like it's
01:16quite a uh you know a trendy thing to do a turmeric shot or a ginger shot there's a period
01:21of time when you and laurie got a bit of a fad of having turmeric tea in the morning laurie will not
01:26want to be lumped in that uh bracket he was though he was he wasn't on board with your mushroom tea
01:32because no one was but he was on board with the turmeric tea for a while give that a smell just give
01:38it a smell and you'll see you can imagine the sensation of the burning i mean i quite like the smell
01:44of ginger but i just don't like then i don't fancy it man so yeah i've well it's meant to be very good
01:49for the immune system also if it's more of a uh sore throat nose thing um it blows it all out you
01:56know so yeah hopefully this will this will get me through the next hour uh it's got 25.4 grams of
02:03fresh peruvian ginger great probably got 25 grams of protein that's the other in thing at the moment
02:08yep creatine's in here as well all the stuff and um thankfully yeah it all yep i can confirm

02:38into saturday night's main event predictions and then we'll go into the raw review where you know
02:44the big discussion point could cm punk turn heel in the j uso cm punk match this was a theory from
02:52brian alvarez not a report he was just like oh this could happen right here we go three two one

03:26and the reactions let's get into saturday night's main event uh let's do so because we are we've got
03:32a triple threat match for the wwe intercontinental championship this was fairly predictably set up
03:38on monday night raw uh editor kieran one of the first things said he was like how was penta and
03:43rusev and i was like i was just waiting for the americana to run in on course of dq because they
03:46were going to do a triple threat match like i didn't they didn't had a report they were doing it
03:50it's just they were quite clearly setting up a triple threat match on tv so this is going to be a
03:54double dq uh it's donning mystery versus pensive versus rusev i've got uh dom to retain yeah dom's
04:00retaining he's one of the most over people in the company on the raw episode that which we'll cover
04:04shortly he's backstage when he walks into shop the crowd starts singing dirty dirty dom because the
04:13americans have learned a new way of doing chants well done guys you're welcome guys we've ruined
04:18everything for actually no we've not ruined it we've come up with a fun chance and americans are now
04:22ruining it yeah uh tiffany stratton versus the newly heel jade cargill for the wwe women's
04:29championship yeah this happened on smackdown um yeah jade cargill came out posed with tiffany stratton
04:35and i i would i would say more obviously than it becoming a triple threat for the intercontinental
04:41title was jade turning heel on tiffany in that moment yes and so meltzer had said that he
04:47believes that that jade was always set to win this because it's the third encounter between the
04:52three others between the two of them so probably it is now time for jade to win the title i think
04:56this is their third match it's something you well they had the summer slam one then they had the
05:00one on smackdown yes so it is their third yeah um i i think jade might actually win the belt here
05:04well if they don't then i think that will really harm jade which is meltzer's point of just like it's
05:12their third match if jade loses here i don't know where you go with her after that losing three
05:16straight world title matches yeah but it's it's the third match but it's also she just turned heel
05:21if you don't if you don't immediately capitalize on the big thing brum breaker it it's like what's the
05:27point of doing it so i think the heel turn was in kayfabe character wise cargill going i fought you
05:35twice already i didn't win and now i can i'm sorry the ginger now now i can go against you in this
05:45third encounter but i'm changing things up i'm being a bad guy yeah and it's not like it's not
05:49traditional heel turn like i don't think jade's gonna have a whole new presentation or anything
05:53like that this is just more of the the paul levecch era heel turn which is that you are broadly the same
05:58character you just have a bit more of an edge to you so you can do a face versus heel dynamic within a
06:03match but i do think that jade is going to win the title here i think tiffany needs a bit of a
06:06refresh this world title run has done very little for her and it feels like she's had it for about
06:11three years at this point despite being undefeated all year but that wasn't like yeah with the apart
06:16from the vacker one but they didn't build that into any form of storyline leading into the vacker
06:20match so she just lost at crown jewel it meant nothing and all she has done since winning this
06:26title is defending against naya jacks it feels like yeah that usually particularly with long title
06:31reigns you're like are they more over than when they started and i think definitely not no i don't
06:37i'd agree i think she is more she's under compared to where she was before she won the title like she's
06:42not as over as she was when she won money in the bank but yeah jade to win for me um speaking of
06:48championships we've got the undisputed wwe championship on the line as cody roads defends
06:53against drew mcintyre yes this was originally meant to be fatu versus drew which was going to act as a
06:59number one contenders match because the plan was cody versus drew at survivor series yep which is
07:04weird because i would have thought you know if you're gonna have some people involved in the
07:08war games match it's true joining the heel team randomly it's usually his spot and cody joining
07:14the baby face team uh but yeah it's obviously cody retaining here yeah i guess so like much in the
07:20same way the jade thing like this is they've done quite a few encounters for the belt this is not the
07:26first match they've had for this title it was a wrestle palooza wasn't it the last one that they
07:31had and they've had like brawls on raw on smackdown rather they sort of like unsanctioned brawls and
07:36stuff like impromptu matches and so drew losing again does nothing for him but at the same time i
07:43don't think winning the title does anything for him either oh i don't it'll be huge for drew if he
07:49wins the title i don't know man like it doesn't be weird for cody yeah i think that's probably more
07:54what i mean is like i don't know what cody i get apart from just go for the belt again but i feel
07:59like with cody in the wwe championship the eye is less on somebody beating him it's more on like
08:04what are you doing at wrestlemania and usually that is cody defending the title at wrestlemania
08:09and i feel that is still the direction we're heading in yeah and paul livec can not have people drop
08:14titles or there'll be title changes or anything interesting happen outside of four big shows in the
08:21year i think he should change the belt here like i think to try and shake things up a little bit
08:27drew winning the title would be a bit of a shot in the arm i just don't think they're going to do
08:34oh i really don't see them doing it particularly because it's saturday night's main event that they
08:39the report is they didn't have brom breaker in the vacant world heavyweight title match because
08:45they don't see this as a big enough occasion despite john cena being like he is retiring at
08:52the next saturday night's main event but that was scheduled in before they moved from it being on
08:58peacock but you know that was that was before they'd moved it basically because it used to be a tv thing
09:02didn't it and then they signed the deal with espn which now moved it to the streaming service but
09:06this used to be a big deal now it is no longer a big deal because of espn wait so saturday night's
09:11main event used to be on tv but it's not but no now because they moved to espn peacock still need
09:17some programming so now the saturday night main event show are now on peacock but also on tv i don't
09:22know if they are on tv anymore let's have a look yeah we broadcast on peacock in the united states and
09:28on youtube and other international markets oh right okay so not on usa network or whatever oh weird
09:33um but yes nbc uh but yes anyway i i think the big thing on this show is going to be we're going
09:41to get a new world heavyweight champion i don't think they would also change the belt even though
09:48smackdown is super stale in my opinion i think this will actually main event the show and i really i
09:53think the world title is going to open the show and determine who the new uh new champion is why
09:58because the wb championship is the bigger deal i i think that the world heavyweight championship thing
10:03is a formality maybe i'm just thinking that because that's how it's been presented on tv
10:08like this is just a formality to have a new world champion well should we get into the the formality
10:15match yeah it is cm punk versus ju so for the world title the go home angle for this on raw was
10:21see you on saturday and and that was it yeet replied ju so sternly yeah uh yeah just just one
10:33word responses so the story is and and they have had to cobble this together because of seth's injury
10:40so they are in a you know your heart goes out to them a bit because they've had this extenuate
10:45extenuating circumstance did i say that word correctly extenuating extenuating broadly i said both
10:50other versions wrong but you know so i feel for them in that regard but then i'm also still
10:58hypercritical because there is a inbuilt ready-made story there with brom breaker i know i sound like
11:04a broken record but brom breaker versus cm punk should be the match cm punk won the number one
11:10contendership breaker took out the world heavyweight champion maiden vacator in kayfabe although we'll never
11:16know how injured he really was from the cody match that's the match to do not have jayuso added who
11:23lost the number one contenders match yeah but that's what i mean it feels like it's a formality
11:28there was a big talking point last week after it was made to be jayuso versus cm punk and you and i
11:34i think spoke about this on the friday podcast we did as well of like well what if there isn't actually
11:39finished to this match and breaker just goes down and destroys both of the guys and we still don't
11:44have a world heavyweight champion and that's the story no matter how many times they keep doing
11:47world title matches breaker keeps cost like interfering and stopping a world champion being
11:53crowned until he is inserted into one of these matches and then he wins the title it's a fine little
11:57theory and stuff but then on raw this week paul hayman was like i think it's best if we don't do any
12:02of that interesting stuff and you just have a match with la night instead and bron's like
12:06huh i guess i've got a lot to learn he's like that's a great plan paul let's go and do that
12:12that's not capitalize on my momentum which makes again feel like this is just a formality match
12:19i i like your theory so should we go into the theory then that alvarez presented of you could
12:24turn punk heel and have him be the heel champion and the only reason he said that is based on the
12:30uh the go home segment on raw where punk essentially tells jay uh so jay's like i've got
12:36a lot of voices in my head like a lot of people have got my ear right now there's roman reigns
12:41telling me to be more selfish there's my brother jimmy who wants me to be a nice person and you know
12:48not throw him out uh very heelishly in a battle royal when we promised each other we'd last to
12:53the end and help other baby faces when they're being beaten down by the vision yeah but punk says
12:58i don't know what that's like i don't listen to anyone else i only listen to myself apart from when
13:04he was alone with paul heyman yeah and and and aj lee when he tagged with her just uh just last
13:09month because paul heyman's big promo last week was cm punk's a guy because he listened to me
13:15but uh alvarez alvarez's sort of speculation was huh over the last three months we've had a lot of
13:23the baby faces act a bit more heelish so jay uh la night everyone feels like they just even in the
13:32baby face end they're being a bit more attitude era tweenery apart from cm punk who is still quite
13:38a baby face person so that maybe presents itself as the perfect misdirect to turn punk heel in winning
13:47the match everyone thinks it's going to be jay but it's actually punk do you think so prior to that
13:52did you think jay was winning the title no yeah because i'd once they had it just be punk versus jay i
13:58had punk to win which unless unless they turn jay heel because that is the story they've been
14:05telling over the summer can i give you ike so i think i'm only coming up with this on the fly now
14:10that jay is going to win here and the match at mania is jay versus jimmy versus roman for the title
14:16wow versus fatu a bloodline in every corner
14:25i mean i'm sure like you could add punk in there and make it a fatal four-way um and have a hayman
14:32in every corner have sammy yes oh my god oh yeah that's the match that's the match right there so
14:38it's jay versus jimmy versus roman versus sammy for the world title isn't it amazing how bloodline
14:42stuff you're like yeah i guess so but then you add a sammy in and you're oh that makes it great
14:47yeah so i think jay wins here and that's the match you build to it mainly because like we are we do
14:52need to do jay versus jimmy for the title we need to do it for the title we need to do jay versus jimmy
14:57at some point right because that's that's what we're building on tv we kind of need to do jay versus
15:01roman because roman is in jay's ear and sammy having now dropped the us title over on smackdown
15:07i think you can move him over to raw a lot of people think he might win the rumble i don't think he
15:11needs to win the rumble in order for this match if he actually wins the rumble then it becomes a
15:14four-way it's even a bit of more of a mess but i think that's a really intriguing match to have
15:20at wrestlemania and it's i don't think you actually would do wonders for the heavyweight title because
15:25well roman's involved yeah i i think i think it's a long shot i think that's quite crazy booking like
15:33it's exciting booking but i just don't see this wwe doing it but in regards to punk or jay
15:40if there's a heel turn now i'm thinking about it there probably won't be a heel turn just because
15:46they then got to go into a feud with brom breaker brom beat la knight on this week's episode of raw
15:52essentially crowning him the next number one contender well wade said in quite explicit terms
16:00this is not a number one contenders match but whoever wins will certainly put themselves in
16:06line for that title and whoever loses will have to go to the back of the line yeah so they have
16:11said on tv that breaker is going to be in line for the title i just don't think bron's gonna be
16:17like fighting for the world title at wrestlemania i think it's going to be bron versus brock
16:20well if jay wins here you can give him a month-long title right i know because i think it's going to
16:26be i don't think bron's got the title at mania i think it's bron versus brock in a non-title match
16:30so jay is the champion leading into wrestlemania so you are you sort of fixed on whoever wins the
16:36championship now holds the belt in five six months time for wrestlemania i don't think you
16:41would have jay win here and then have another four week long title run like i don't think that's
16:45one rain four weeks beat i don't think that does any wonders for main event jay uso what he's a two-time
16:53world champion three-time transitional champion jay uso wait no he's a icy title run all right yeah
17:00just lost it back to breaker uh world title run just lost it back to gunther world title run just
17:06lose it uh to bron breaker make it part of the story what you suck another one that's that is
17:12often jay's story you're the sasha banks of the world heavyweight championship you cannot hold that
17:16you you get to the top and you can't hold the belt for longer than four weeks because you stink
17:21because you're rubbish one word five letters stink and you said you tripped up that time on raw
17:26you just don't have it in you but we just have to keep pushing you in the main event because you
17:31sell t-shirts so yeah i i think whoever wins this here is the champion going into wrestlemania whether
17:37that is punk versus roman for the world title or it's jay in a four-way for the world title
17:42i think it still is whoever is here is champion by mania i think there's too many things up in the air
17:50just like if you go back to unreal around this time last year they had their card on the whiteboard
17:57and it was totally different to what we ended up with there were sort of thematic similarities but
18:03it's essentially a different card so even with the best laid long-term plans stuff still changes i'm
18:10sort of putting my traitor's hat on here we cannot get caught up in fantasy booking to predict to
18:17accurately predict what's going to happen at this show therefore i'm gonna go with who i think is
18:23the biggest the biggest champion for the moment and it's cm punk so you what you're doing is which
18:30i think is quite a sensible way to look at this is what is the um what's the simplest option that
18:35they can do that is just going to be no risks taken just straight up somebody wins the match
18:42in that sense yes i think it is cm punk i think that maybe although i'm not a jay uso guy i think
18:51jay uso is the better option here because i think there is more interest in him being the world champion
18:55and history on war than there is for punk then just going up against breaker do you want to put it on
19:00the line your your jam jam that championship oh yeah we spoke about bringing it back as the two man
19:07the two man belt um yeah we could you're the champion right i've lost track yeah yeah i'm the
19:15i'm the champion yeah and i mean the rules of the championship is you can win it via any means
19:19yes 24 7 title yeah okay which we never capitalized on it much like bron breaker we did not capitalize on
19:25that momentum let's put the championship on the line that's fine yeah you're saying jay i'm saying
19:30punk i like it yeah nice nice uh should we get into this episode of raw then yeah let's do it
19:35um it started with the punk versus jay go home segment which we've mostly recapped
19:40uh the recap package that started this was just the battle right it was a little bit at the start
19:45five seconds seth is injured and you see a shot of bronze spear in him but then it was all on
19:51the battle royal jay winning betraying jimmy that's what i'm telling you man like i think that this show
19:58was designed to let you know all of you that are fancy booking breaker ruining the world title scene
20:05pump your brakes he's not being in the world title scene for a little bit yeah that read this recap
20:11package really said to me nope not our focus it's not bron he's not his time it's not his time it's
20:18him versus brock at wrestlemania so we need to do that first then we can circle back to this jay did
20:25and i timed it five minutes of yeeting it was 10 minutes from when the show started so the
20:31oh it's got a new one now hasn't it yeah how's that good and everyone is yeeting so technically
20:37the show now every show now starts with yeeting yeeting towards the wwe logo which makes it look
20:44like a cult does anyone else think that i only since you pointed out now i see i'm like it does
20:51look like quite cultish triple h says the quiet parts out loud all the time and none of us pay
20:56attention to it yeah his nxt shows were called takeovers he he is this is him at the start of
21:03every show praise us we are the best yeah so he did a long yeeting segment and i because i was
21:11skipping ahead i actually thought i'd skipped past the do-over and it turns out i hadn't got to that
21:17bit yet so a bit more skipping i actually thought that jay looked a bit more serious i thought oh maybe
21:23he's not gonna do the do-over because of how you know the the lengths he's going to to be more
21:29serious then he did them one more time well we talked about this on friday online reactions are
21:37usually not indicative of what happens in the building this happens every single time there's
21:42a big thumbs down ratio on jay uso stuff on youtube or there's negative online resentment towards jay uso
21:48he shows up on raw the following week and the crowd are going wild for his yeeting so there's this
21:54comes as no surprise to me what also doesn't come as a surprise to me is he was then gassed for his
21:58promo and it really felt like he had nothing to say and he forgot what he was supposed to say
22:04yeah punk came down though and i thought as usual he was excellent on the mic he comes down he very
22:11funnily did the should we do it one more time and they played cold apart yeah it was so well done
22:17i i don't know if that was a bit of improv i think it was because he cut it off so quickly
22:21i think it was a bit of improv yeah um but he apologized i'm not trying to steal your bits or
22:26anything and then he said yeah he only focuses on what he says to himself um and and did the whole
22:34like he just little roman or big jimmy or whatever the phrase was and that's when he talked about
22:41jay having what it takes to win the belt because he threw jimmy out of the match early
22:48and the crowd booed that and then punk said to the crowd whoa whoa whoa no that's what you need to
22:54win the the title yeah i didn't feel like the crowd really booed it that much they did they did but
22:59then they punk shut them down punk didn't shut it down yeah because like you know in a way punk is
23:03right it is every man for himself yeah but i i think they are rushing or going back on certain
23:13storyline bits because of the situation they found themselves in with seth the crowd booing jay is
23:19because that was a heel act wwe like i said earlier have established baby faces and wwe help each other
23:27particularly family members if they don't you are tending towards being a bad guy yeah that's what
23:33we've had since wrestlemania 39 and so the crowd see what jay did as a heel act but i think wwe are
23:41having to guide the audience the other way because they don't want jay to be a heel yeah that might be
23:47true yeah because i mean it's not like he came out here not yeeting and the crowd were booing him
23:52because of what happened last week no they were they were cheering him like the the baby face
23:55and later on jay because nothing else really happens in this promo jay just says he eats but there is a
24:02jimmy jay interaction backstage and jimmy is rightfully very annoyed with jay points out that
24:07they even had a plan we we stay together to the end then we then we see who's better it's every man
24:15for himself yeah because jay kind of like tries to palm it off a little bit it's like oh no i was i was
24:19limiting la9 jimmy was like no it'd be me at the same time we had a plan but then later on they have
24:25another backstage segment where jay just like that's all cool love you man and jimmy was like yeah no it's
24:30cool i guess and then i've read that to mean oh we're not doing anything until wrestlemania so we
24:35need to try and eek this out as much as possible by squashing this story down for a little bit
24:42just while we get through this section then we need to get through december then we can start this
24:46again at the royal rumble or that that's very possible or we need to squash this now because
24:52jay needs to be a face for the punk match and i don't get why he needs to be a face i i've been in i
24:58think we all have been enjoying very much so this this sort of corruption of jay uso and that that is
25:04a better dynamic for me yeah in going against punk who's a face um which i thought we got a little bit
25:09of that in jay's promo like we you know we sort of mocked he didn't have much to say but he did go
25:13like oh screw you punk like i think he had a bit of an edge to him like that is not a traditional baby
25:17face thing to say to someone who was saying nice things to you it felt like jay wasn't really hearing
25:22the points that punk was making because punk was saying you did the right thing and this is a good
25:28thing for you and jay's reaction to that was screw you punk yeah so i think there is still that that
25:32edge to jay and it is way more interesting for him yeah i just feel like that they've they've hit
25:39pause on the jay storyline um which was which was the best thing about him and i get why they did it but
25:47then just go with breaker i don't know if they have i think they are squashing the jimmy bit
25:51for the moment because much like when jimmy turned on jay at summer slam we've got to wait till
25:57wrestlemania so we can't do all the storyline now so i think they're just slowing things down a little
26:03bit so we can get through saturday night's main events then they'll do something through december
26:06then we can restart this back up in in january around royal rumble season so yeah that that's what i
26:13think but i think the continuation of jay and his decline not into heeldom but into edgedom i guess
26:19uh not the wrestler not copeland i think is very much still on course which is why i think he's
26:24winning this weekend uh judgment day a backstage in the clubhouse dom wants some help because pierce
26:31has got a vendetta against him because there's the rusev uh penta match which is a number one
26:36contenders match coming up next and finn and jd are very annoyed with him because they see
26:41him as the reason they had to defend their tag titles and they lost their tag titles so they
26:47refuse to help they refuse to help and then dom calls someone on the phone and says like hey i need
26:52your help and like roxanne is going to go and sort of speak to dom but raquel pulls her back and was
26:59like that's their business we need to deal with our business this went into the penta rusev match which
27:05was mirro versus penta uh the redeemer versus one of the lucha bros there was a decent back and
27:15forth match that got really good from the matchka kick reversal of a top rope move and then uh rusev
27:21kicks out of the penta driver the crowd were really into it at this point but then unfortunately rio and
27:26bravo ran down to cause a double dq el grande americano is now wearing a suit with the mask making
27:33them look even more like ludwig kaiser yeah i as i said earlier i could not get into this match because
27:38i was just waiting for the dq finish the problem was that penta driver kick out was so good i i
27:46momentarily got into it well the crowd booed the ref because they thought it was the finish yeah
27:51and and i it suckered me in so then the dq did annoy me more than it should have done yeah
27:57uh and then the erasov and penta got back in and the americanos bailed so there's still you know
28:04well likely don wins and then we'll have penta and rusev versus the americanos on raw in a couple
28:09weeks time probably there was a good shot when the americanos were posing in the ring but you've
28:14got the rusev rising from the deep shot over their shoulder i'm just done with the americanos
28:19yeah yeah yeah yeah uh jackie spoke with la night who cut a little promo on punkin jay because he is
28:26setting himself up to be another contender for that world title which is basically what he's done all
28:31of 2025 yet lose all the time as well and then this is where bron has an idea they have a backstage
28:38segment with the vision where he's like i've got a great idea why wasn't i just in the battle royal
28:43last week and destroying all of the guys in there and paul was like i love this idea it's a silly one
28:48though because pierce would have suspended us indefinitely a better plan is for you not to go
28:53for the world title and instead just go after someone who might go for the world title down the line
28:58they are twisting themselves in knots to it to try and convince us this was a good idea
29:03i've just written all caps lame yeah four four letters one word because all this stuff that
29:14hayman's saying like oh but we couldn't have done this because of that i'm just sitting there
29:17thinking it from a meta point of view of yeah but you could just say one line blah blah blah
29:23lawyers bron contract blah blah blah bron has to be in that match you can't uh you can't pursue a
29:30vendetta against him yes i it's here's another thing and this is a minor thing but i already picked up on
29:37it this week have you seen bron's t-shirt so bron can run 23 miles an hour right that is like wicked fast
29:44like when he's off the ropes and he's running around the ring super duper quick so on his t-shirt
29:48he's got 23 miles an hour on it but it's in a road sign and if you're in a car going 23 miles an hour
29:56is not that it doesn't feel like you're going that fast like a country lane yes it well no no well
30:00through a village yeah exactly country lanes are 70 miles an hour inexplicably
30:04um so yeah if you're into a small village and you have to go at 20 miles an hour you really feel
30:12like you have had to slow down in order to crawl through this so sure when you are running as a

31:11but uh yeah it's weird to have all those accolades 10 years in the company yet i feel like she's a
31:19second fiddler she's never been the top person of like wwe's women's division she's always been
31:25second or third it's just even four it just really shows how stats on a piece of paper particularly in
31:32wwe don't really mean a damn it's how you treat them the miss is a two-time grand slam champion
31:38he's a two-time wwe champion he main evented wrestlemania and beat john cena but he is still the
31:45yeah sorry do you want me to do the the play-by-play you go for it yes my nose is safe on
31:52you um you kind of set me up for it and then i i had to uh say on camera pierce then chatted with
31:58finn and jd mcdonough backstage because they want their rematch and instead because they illegally
32:03eliminated sheamus from the battle royal last week one of them has to step up for a match with
32:07sheamus and jd mcdonough says i'll be the guy to do it it's the irish division
32:13i felt like i'll make this point now i felt like this was a bit of a statement show
32:21to uh go against the criticisms of the age problem in wwe because on this show like the next three
32:28matches you get here are roxanne perez beating nikki bella bron breaker beating la knight and jd
32:34mcdonough beating sheamus those are that is a really good point those are three young guys beating
32:41three established old guys or older feeling guys because like you know sheamus is probably in his
32:4740s at this point i don't know how old nikki bella is but she feels like the old guard of wwe
32:53and um la knight's in his 40s yeah so this was this felt like a bit of a statement show in that sense
32:59i just checked jd's 35 he feels younger because he's newer yeah i mean at least he's in his 30s
33:06um and now first off that was roxanne perez beating nikki bella you like the crowd weren't
33:12into roxanne being on top like for the heat but they were into nikki's entrance and they were into
33:17nikki's comeback lots of interference from raquel rodriguez but yeah surprisingly because i thought
33:23well this will you know the rule of law is you beat roxanne perez you can then have a match with
33:28raquel rodriguez so i wasn't fully expecting roxanne to take the loss here but she got not a clean win
33:33because there was so much interference but she just pinned nikki bella with the pop rocks i was so
33:38happy about that i'm a huge roxanne fan i just love the way she wrestles so yeah a good yeah a good
33:44victory for her um but i i do not believe in stephanie and nikki's relationship at all no it is so
33:54cringy and it's making vicar look a bit lame by association if you just keep getting told on tv what
33:59a friendship they've developed over the last few months then it doesn't feel organic
34:03uh yeah so raquel then stepped up to vacker because she came down to make the save and then
34:08nikki bella also got up so that we are we've got a tag match set for next week we are building to
34:14vacker versus raquel for the title i think we're also putting to vacker versus nikki for the title as
34:20yeah um bailey cut a promo from home last friday to set up the tag main event and then lyra
34:27was walking backstage and uh no
34:30and she was like i can smell some overacting so she walked up to the kabuki warriors um and they
34:40kind of shouted at her because they should be at the top of the women's division and be getting
34:43shot at the titles it's really good that wwe don't actually have scenery backstage because it would no
34:49longer exist after these three had a segment together yeah if you look at the background you
34:53could actually see teeth marks in all the bits around them uh bailey then walked up after the
34:58kabuki warriors walked off to say like hey aren't you excited we've got a tag match and i was like
35:03yeah but i've never faced alexa or charlotte in the match before so i don't know what's going to
35:07happen and bailey's like oh yeah what if we lose and lyra's like yeah but what if we win and then
35:14they do a wacky little high five celebration yeah uh it's won me over and you know what the the match as
35:20was excellent it's the wrestling that is winning me over in this because the lyra's acting is now
35:26now i've made peace with it i really look forward to it uh jimmy uh doing a fred durst cosplay uh
35:33then shouted at jay backstage about the battle royal um as where we go i've written here um jimmy says
35:39that jay was scared what would happen if it was just those two i've seen wrestlemania 40 i would also
35:44be scared brunt breaker then took on la knight which weighed very clearly said not a number one
35:49contendership match but certainly will have some stakes to it in terms of management which i think
35:53is just sort of like um it's not double speak per se but it's just sort of like uh lip service to be
35:59like yeah no it's you know they're still within the top contention like and uh breaker won very cool
36:04finish because it was la knight going for his top rope like little jump up elbow drop but in the
36:09process of doing that breaker kipped up then got in position for the spear and hit the spear out of
36:13nowhere to get the win i enjoyed that yeah i thought that was a great finish and i enjoyed the match um
36:18initially like brom was taking so much of it but i think knight's got really good comebacks
36:23yeah i think there was a moment when breaker was supposed to get dicked on the top rope where you
36:27like you push your legs out but he just fell completely and landed right on his head and
36:32shoulders yeah which looked pretty nasty um he has one of those only in wwe staging conversations
36:39where he walks to a guy that says have you seen dom he's like no i've not seen him boss
36:44so he then takes like three steps forward and speaks to another guy and says have you seen dom
36:49and the guy's like yeah he's literally there well there's probably meant to be a bit of scenery there
36:54but lyra ate it
36:55but this is a brilliant little segment with dom because he walks up and i was like he's literally
37:02chatting with the americanos shaking hands with them and he's like whoa don't know why they
37:07interfered craziness eh but you know i guess that's just the way that's just the wacky world
37:12of wwe and pierce's like well here's a wacky thing for you it'll be you in a triple threat against
37:17rusev and pence are at saturday night's main event and dom's like hablo no anglaise
37:22after pierce has already walked off he's like i'm trying to think of an excuse
37:26i didn't understand you no it's too late i thought dom was really funny
37:30and he essentially said and they came up with that plan all by themselves
37:36this is really working it's so good uh then we got the second of the uh the jimmy and jay chat
37:45where they just said like uh well i said jay wants to know that jimmy has come up to uh like he's just
37:50portrayed him he's like yeah that's fine we'll smooth things over still love you yeah no this moves
37:54it over jd mcd then took on seamus in a really fun match again like much like the roxanne match lots of
38:00interference uh but like he even put jd's foot on the ropes after seamus had the match one with
38:06the high cross i'm just gonna say i'm gonna blow my nose i'm not taking cocaine like sean
38:10that white paddy got down there um anyway so yeah lots of interference he then hit seamus with the
38:23shillelagh he did finn and jd mcd then hit the spanish fly to get the win huge win for jd
38:29yeah and finn did interfere a lot like you know even using the weapon but it didn't feel
38:34like he did if you know what i mean jd wasn't trying to cheat and he wasn't being a chicken
38:41heel he felt tough in this moment he did yeah and i'm looking forward to more matches between
38:47seamus and this part of the judgment day we've got a recap of becky and maxine from last week and
38:52then pierce is chatting with maxine saying you've earned yourself another shot at the title maxine was
38:56like well i appreciate that i don't know if i'm ready so i need to go speak to a friend of mine
39:01and make sure that i have got everything in my arsenal for the next time i do face becky lynch so
39:05natalia i guess aj lee are they friends well nikki bella and stephanie the kerr are friends they'll
39:12just pretend like they are but maxine's literally in a tag team with natalia
39:16but they want aj lee to come back and feud with becky do they i mean that's what the whole well the
39:24whole point of the thing was we keep saying because she pinned her at wrestlepalooza but it's not like
39:30on tv they've done anything else to tell you that aj lee's coming back for the time no you're right
39:34pinning the champion uh never never results in a follow-up does it yeah cody roads
39:40what literally pinned john cena at money the bank they had to win they had the match at
39:47and they won king of the ring to get that was our truth's fault
39:51um what do we get to uh then jackie interviewed bliss and flair and they noted here they are only
40:00two title defenses away from breaking the record and i'm like really feels like you've barely like
40:07you've just won these things when they won them at mania didn't they no no no no no becky and roxat
40:14no becky and lyra won them at wrestlemania because then becky turned heel the following
40:18summer slam yeah it was summer slam they won the belts but there were periods where people would
40:23defend the tag belts down in nxt and raw and smackdown it makes me feel like either tag title
40:30reigns are very very short in the women's tag title scene or they're very long with very few matches
40:36wwe don't tend to make up stats these days so i do believe them i don't think it's made up yeah i
40:42just think it's a an incredible it was like when we're watching tna in 2013 at the moment um doing
40:49the acn8 storyline over on patreon and bobby rude they were like he's the longest reigning tna champion
40:55of all time and he was champion for nine months like that is not that doesn't feel like a startling
41:01statistic in sort of modern day wrestling where people hold the title for a year plus
41:05um that feels like it's one of those stats where it's like wow i can't believe that's actually true
41:10uh aj i've been aj aj lee aj and dragon lee were chatting with adam pierce saying they want
41:16challenges finn and jd walked up it's like dealt with seamus now we get our rematch and styles accepts
41:22their challenge for next week seamus will probably cost judgment day that match i reckon but here we go
41:27this is the the follow-up that we've all been waiting for so over the weekend we got these
41:33mysterious vignettes on social media of shoes walking and you did with people inside with
41:40people inside those shoes it wasn't just like thing from adam's fan it's just like some shoes walking
41:44along you said you did a whole news piece about this yesterday yeah i spent a lot of time on all
41:49the different people it could be or the speculation that it could be the returning santos escobar who's
41:54actually not been on tv probably was at raw this week though but not been on tv since he re-signed
41:59to it's andrada going back to wwe it's uh who else was on the list jericho jericho because they've got
42:07a little snippet of aerosmiths uh back in the saddle i was like that's so such a jericho musical choice
42:13they would have picked a posse so i'm better than aerosmith as it turns out uh pw insider i believe
42:21then reported nope these are this whatever it is is just for wrestlemania 42 so if it's a new
42:27faction they'll debut at wrestlemania 42 turns out in a follow-up report no it's just cody rhodes
42:33roman reigns and brock lesnar filming vignettes to promote wrestlemania 42 and what we got here was a
42:39spinning vegas chip with 2026 written on it sometimes uh what we get carried away with things that
42:47happen on screen and that's on us i don't feel like this is one of those examples i don't either
42:54this really felt like wwe were saying surprise people coming up but no or a new act yeah no it's
43:02the exact people you would expect going to the major show of the year and i think back in the saddle is
43:08because they're going back to vegas yeah i i just have the same walking thing but also have
43:15cody roads his watch or yeah make it obvious yeah those guys like you you can tell it's lesnar's
43:21cowboy boots but yeah i i thought this was a bit of a misfire of a a campaign i think so as well in a
43:29week where the company was being criticized for not taking risks and then all of a sudden there's like
43:35but a new faction is coming so you kind of like if you are one of these people who just really
43:40wanted something new and exciting out of that battle royal you are going to latch on to ah but
43:45there's the new and exciting over there when that also isn't new and exciting and it's just a promo for
43:50the next wrestlemania that's just going to sap even more of your energy um and we also got a backstage
43:56segment with the kabuki warriors um having a go at the tag team champions which is one of those
44:03classic paul levec here is whether like the next match that you're about to see doesn't really
44:08matter because we've already told you what the match after that is um which is going to be the
44:12kabuki warriors versus blair uh blair and fliss blair and fliss for the tag time well let's do the
44:17the match because i i don't know if it is i mean this match was great this was so good this was so good
44:24so so much fun and i'm going to give the the biggest shout out of them all to bailey i thought bailey
44:30was the mvp of this match everyone was great lyra was great uh flare was great bliss was great i
44:37thought bailey was so so good in this match because like she didn't actually get a hot tag a traditional
44:45hot tag but she still did a hot yeah run wild and her running wild was so awesome i i thought that
44:52like the most out of your seat moments were the two near falls of the twisted bliss and the night
44:57the nightfall but yeah it was nightwing i've done it wrong again why am i using other batman
45:04properties for what that move is called the batwing uh but the um the alfred
45:10i might do that now i'll just always call it something different relating to batman
45:16wayne manor and she hit wayne manor to win
45:20but um they yeah it was bailey running in off that like second hot tag or whatever it was
45:29and she just went at it with charlotte and charlotte was was excellent in this match as well
45:34the intensity slugfest between charlotte and bailey that was what i was into so yeah when was the last
45:40time i was actually into charlotte even in this tag run so far i've been like yeah it's fine i think it's
45:45particularly for me but yeah this is the best charlotte's been in years honestly like the the
45:50thing i love the most about this tag team and this tag title run that she's currently got with
45:54alexa bliss is it's such a great turnaround from wrestlemania where she was just everyone's least
46:02favorite person oh she won the royal rumble oh she's having she's like literally sandbagging promo
46:09segments with tiffany stratton to make herself look good and make stratton look bad and then stratton had
46:14to do all of her stuff which didn't make her look good either and everyone came out of that looking
46:19so much worse what a turnaround since summer slam it's like this has been a remarkable turn at 180
46:26and the story of the match was obviously charlotte and alexa have differences you know they don't get
46:33on a lot of the time but professionally they work together really well but there's an odd couple
46:37dynamic there bailey and lyra have a different odd couple dynamic in that bailey is going through
46:42some things right now and lyra's learning how to deal with it they break up they get back together
46:46so it came down to okay these teams are both faces but which team can work together more coherently
46:54and that they told that story through the physicality and match layout so well because at
47:00the end lyra is stopping bailey from tapping out that is that is a visual representation of these two
47:08people are on different pages one wants to do one thing and the other one's stopping them
47:12and the winning move is from alexa and charlotte in sync hitting the same move at the same time the
47:18natural selection on both of them hell of a match but but also just like storytelling wise yeah that's
47:23what i mean that that is that that is an incredible match that's what i mean it's all encompassing
47:28wrestling is not just doing moves in the ring it's telling stories with those moves like the
47:33criticism against the young bucks is they just do moves but those they actually do tell stories with
47:37those moves and that's what you get here it's not just doing moves it's telling stories in the ring
47:42wrestling is about telling stories and i think they told a great story in this match while also doing
47:47cool moves that led into each other i thought this was superb it was a really really good main event
47:52the kabuki warriors jumped them all afterwards but bailey sort of save lyra and scared them off
47:58um really good the kabuki warriors doing the attack at the end felt even more awesome this tag division
48:04has suddenly revealed itself by just shifting a few people around into oh my god is this a tlc
48:12triple threat or is it just three teams because i guess you keep saying it's turned this division
48:17around but it's just three teams and it's i'm i'm excited for those three teams yeah but i don't think
48:24you can call this a division what that that's that's that's enough for the i know you need other
48:30teams but this is the men's side the top of the tag division but that's a great division this is just
48:36it you say it's the top of the division this is the entire division i'm okay with that for four months
48:41though yeah okay because this probably will lead yeah you have a singles fit like singles for you
48:46have a straight two-on-two feud and you switch it around and then you'll come together for a triple
48:50threat this could be the dudleys hardies and edge and christian for the women 25 years after uh you
48:59know the 2000s yeah and this probably will be because like next year will be the 25th anniversary
49:04of wrestlemania x7 where they did do tlc2 so maybe you're absolutely onto something that they will do
49:10a tlc match a triple threat tlc match in the same way that they did a tribute to summerslam 2000
49:15uh at this year's summerslam by adding you know 12 more teams into the match doing a much more
49:21streamlined version of it when you have a division that's only got six people in it great you can
49:25just do a an easy triple threat tag match i love that idea and i think these have got enough character
49:31about them that you can uh eek this out until wrestlemania yeah but yeah i can't say enough good
49:37things about that that main event and just the you know sometimes it's not just about what you saw but
49:43the excitement you have for the future and i'm really excited to see those three teams work
49:48together more yeah me too i really i you know overall like this was an interesting episode of
49:53monday night raw because story wise not a lot going on i think this was like when everyone came into the
49:59office and said how was raw i was like well nothing progressed but there was really good wrestling on
50:04the show yeah like i really enjoyed the penta rusev match despite you know knowing it's going to end
50:08in dq thought jd and sheamus was great thought nikki and roxanne was really good and i thought
50:13the breaker la night match and this was a great main event so wrestling wise really good storyline
50:19wise very little but in ring i thought was great yeah i gave it 82 percent that's then that's high
50:25i really like the wrestling well that's true yeah you know from a wrestling perspective maybe you're
50:30right yeah i think it's just with with raw i suppose i always expect a mix of both like with
50:35aew you often just get shows that have just got good wrestling on them but i kind of expect that
50:39from dynamite because they're often not they while they do have storylines they often just have
50:44shows that's just here's some just really good wrestling on the show because we're going to delay
50:48some stories this was one of those episodes of raw i'm like it felt different because it wasn't
50:52storyline folks it was just all wrestling focused yeah overall i think it was like a thread of 3.5 out
