00:03as co-deputy director of the FBI. He will serve alongside Deputy Director Dan Bongino
00:10as first reported by Fox News.
00:14Attorney General Pam Bondi told Fox News she's thrilled to welcome the distinguished
00:19attorney general and decorated war veteran. FBI Director Cash Patel also says he's looking
00:25forward to working with Bailey to deliver on President Trump's agenda. Bailey thanked
00:30the people of Missouri in a social media post. He also thanked the Trump administration in
00:35a separate statement. Bailey will resign as Missouri Attorney General to take the role
00:39within the bureau. Bongino reacted to the news in a social media post saying welcome with
00:45American flag emojis. It's unclear how Bongino and Bailey will split the duties. Traditionally,
00:50the deputy director manages daily operations, according to CNN. The announcement followed
00:55Bongino's reported frustration with the Department of Justice's handling of the Epstein files. He was
01:01selected to serve as the sole deputy director earlier this year. CBS News reports he considered
01:07leaving the FBI and failed to report at one point over a disagreement with Bondi on her department's
01:12review of the Jeffrey Epstein case. The White House dismissed the reports as baseless and an attempt
01:18to sow division within the administration. For more unbiased updates, download the Straight
