00:00All right, Jets fans, I'm going to just go ahead and say it because, you know, it still
00:03might be too early, but I think I owe Justin Fields and that Jets offense an apology because
00:09of the way they look better than expected in the week one loss to the Steelers.
00:13But I'm only going to apologize if Ross Tucker or the Ross Tucker podcast says so.
00:19Ross, thanks for hopping on with this, man.
00:20Let's get straight into this because I was very encouraged watching the Jets football,
00:27the offense for sure.
00:28Aaron Glenn says that he doesn't do moral victories, but would you call the Jets loss
00:33to the Steelers a good loss?
00:37I would say it was a good loss for the offense.
00:40That's for sure.
00:41I mean, I can't remember the last time the Jets offense looked that good.
00:45That was awesome.
00:46I loved it.
00:48I mean, you know, it's funny because with the first game, you never really know that much
00:53how much of that was Justin Fields, how much of that's the new OC, Tanner Engstrand.
00:58But guys were open.
01:01That's about as good as I've ever seen Fields look.
01:04The O-line, even without Barrett Tucker, looked like the Jets offensive line they've been trying
01:09to build for years.
01:11I mean, I think you could argue that they might have the best pair of young tackles in
01:15the NFL.
01:15Well, I love Olu, Fushanu, Membu was awesome.
01:20I think they're 21 and 22 years old.
01:22So I would say, offensively at least, very, very encouraging.
01:27The funny thing is, it was like the opposite of all the recent, you know, Jets games over
01:33the years, right, where usually it was the defense game a chance to win, but the offense
01:38couldn't get it done.
01:39This time it was the offense that game a chance to win, but the defense couldn't get it done.
01:44Yeah, that would be weird if that is going to be the DNA or the makeup of the Jets.
01:50The offense is giving them chances to win, but the defense on the back end is kind of giving
01:55it up and giving up points.
01:57And I'm glad, you know, I'm glad Justin Fields is kind of getting his flowers.
02:00I know that it's only one game, but throughout the course of training camp, both he and the
02:07offense were getting all types of negative comments and tweets throughout training camp
02:13and preseason.
02:14But then he goes out there, puts up 30 plus and has himself a solid day.
02:18I got kind of a two-part question here.
02:22Do you think that the Jets could have a top 10 offense this year?
02:25And do you think they'd at least, if not top 10, you think they'd exceed expectations?
02:32Top 10 is pretty high, man.
02:34You know, anytime people say stuff like that, you have to then sit there and, like, it's
02:39like when people say this guy's a top 10 quarterback.
02:41You sure about that?
02:43Well, why don't you go through and actually list them and tell me if you're really taking
02:46that guy over these 10 I'm about to list for you.
02:49Top 10 is high.
02:50Now, is it a possibility?
02:52I guess that they could come in towards the bottom of that top 10.
02:57We've seen it before with the Jets, that magical year with Ryan Fitzpatrick chucking the ball
03:02to Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker.
03:05That was a fun year for sure.
03:07I think that's probably a little bit high.
03:10But listen, the Steelers historically have a pretty darn good defense.
03:13They've invested a lot in that with Cam Hayward and TJ Watt, Jalen Ramsey, and Justin Fields,
03:20Garrett Wilson, Brees Hall and the gang.
03:22They kind of lit them up.
03:24So, certainly if they keep playing like they did on Sunday against the Steelers, they will
03:27be a top 10 offense.
03:29They were for week one, that's for sure.
03:31All right.
03:32Small sample size.
03:33I know it was only one week.
03:34But what is your floor and your ceiling for this year's Jets team?
03:38Ooh.
03:40Probably a little bit higher than the Giants, but similar.
03:44It's kind of weird that both those teams are in about the same vein.
03:48I would say the ceiling is probably, because of that division, I'll say eight or nine wins.
03:58You know, that's one on Sunday that they probably needed to get to get to nine wins.
04:02They needed to beat the Steelers in that game.
04:04For the floor, it feels like four or five.
04:08You know, with Justin Fields and Tanner Engstrand, the way he called that game, I think they'll
04:13win at least four or five.
04:14So, I would say the range is five to eight, probably on the outskirts, four to nine.
04:21But I think five to eight wins seems like the right sweet spot for the Jets this year.
04:27All right, Ross.
04:28You're a busy man, man.
04:29So, talk to us about Future Fans Football, your co-founder in that, and how did all that
04:33come about?
04:35Well, so listen, Jets fans are diehards, man.
04:38I'm, like, always beyond impressed by Jets fans, especially how diehard they've been over
04:45the last 15 years, getting almost nothing in return.
04:49They're as loyal as it gets.
04:51Here's the thing, though.
04:52It's super hard to get your kids to watch the game.
04:55I don't know.
04:55I mean, like, my kids are 12 and 13.
04:58I did a terrible job of it because they don't like to sit there and watch the game with me.
05:02Maybe it's because I was busy or whatever.
05:04But these guys cracked the code.
05:06It's futurefans.com.
05:08If you want your child to sit down and be a member of Gang Green and watch the Jets with
05:14you every Sunday, check out what these guys have built, the Storybook-led Activity Box.
05:20They want to be on their iPads.
05:22They want to be doing other stuff.
05:23These guys figured it out.
05:24It's a cool storybook, which all little kids like.
05:28Then it's an activity box.
05:30They like playing the games.
05:31The ring toss shows them how you get first downs in NFL football.
05:36It works, man.
05:37I mean, I've seen so many videos now, and I've talked to so many people that it works, and
05:42their child actually watches every game every Sunday with them.
05:46So you might think you're getting your child a gift for $60, but it's really a gift to
05:51you for yourself for the next, hopefully, 20 years of being able to watch the Jets with
05:57your child.
05:58It's called futurefans.com.
06:00Check it out for sure.
06:01Futurefans.com.
06:02I love it, man.
06:03I'm going to go ahead and sign up.
06:05I'm not even going to ask you for your login and password like we're sharing Netflix or
06:09anything.
06:10I'm going to definitely support it because I got a two-year-old, and I definitely want him
06:13locked into the game.
06:14So, Ross, appreciate you hopping on with this, man, and thanks for telling us about
06:19futurefans football.
06:21My pleasure, Brandon.
06:22Great to talk with you, man.
06:23You're doing awesome.
06:24Really appreciate the time.
