00:00Today at Trixie and David's Hollywood Dream Home, we're taking down the historic fireplace tiles.
00:12We respect that these tiles are over 100 years old and charming, but we're after a modern glam
00:18look, and these aren't it. We want to love everything in here. Everybody can hate me.
00:23If they come in here and say, why did you get rid of the bachelor tile? I'm going to say,
00:25because I wanted to. So, out with the old and in with the new. On the count of three,
00:32we're going to hit right here, and if you don't hit when I hit, I will never forgive you.
00:37Oh, I'm smashing this tile. We're in this together. I feel like we're having a baby.
00:44Okay. One, two.
00:53We did it.
00:55I feel lighter. Let's get drunk.
00:58You don't drink.
01:00I might start now.
01:01Oh, honey, it all started with a dingy motel in the heart of Palm Springs, just begging for some
01:09serious glitter and glamour. My partner, David, and I transformed it into the most enchanting place
01:14on the planet, but the story doesn't stop there. David and I have decided to do the unthinkable.
01:19We're moving in together, and this time we're taking our dreams straight to Hollywood. We'll
01:24create a spectacular home, dripping with glitz and all the Hollywood glam you can imagine.
01:28The spotlight is on us, honey, and we are here to work.
01:32Hello, everyone. We're back from celebrating our motel's anniversary in Palm Springs.
01:45And now it's full steam ahead, turning this new house into our pink palace.
01:49Hello. How was the party?
01:55It was a nice little mental vacation to celebrate at the motel, but I'm not going to lie to you,
01:59the whole time I was thinking about all the work we have to do here.
02:02Good.
02:02Because we are not out of the woods.
02:04And we are really coming up on that budget.
02:06Mm-hmm.
02:07Uh-huh.
02:08Yeah.
02:09We've already completed our glam-ups at the pool area, music room, and chic upstairs spaces,
02:15but we're not stopping there. Our living room, dining room, and butler's pantry also need
02:20some love. And let's not forget, we still have to finish the piece de la resistance, the kitchen.
02:26When we're done, we want this place to be gorge and gaggy.
02:29We've only got two weeks to finish the main floor before my friends will be here for our
02:33housewarming and my birthday party. Our original budget was $150,000. So far, we've spent $65,000,
02:40meaning we've got $85,000 to put these remaining spaces in drag. That's some serious coin,
02:47but when you're transforming all of these spaces plus the kitchen, the money, it can just fly away
02:52on you. So we need to be creative and make every pretty penny count.
02:56The living room, it's one of the bigger rooms. It's the first thing you see when you walk in.
03:02I love the idea of wallpaper. I don't necessarily love this wallpaper.
03:06We've got a lot of wall spaces. I think that we need to pay homage to the Hollywood Regency that
03:10you love, to the era of the home, and go for some chinoiserie throughout this entire space.
03:15I love chinoiserie. What is it? Sounds like a piece of lingerie.
03:25So we're going to have trees full of flowers and birds coming up all the walls all the way around
03:32the room. Is anything speaking to you? I really don't want this much blue in our house,
03:37so I'm going to say this. All right. I'm sorry. Sorry. Do you think that's just too washed?
03:43Um, yeah. You know, it's not like, it's not really. All right. Yeah, I think this might be the worst.
03:52I like it, but I also really like this. I mean, I don't know. It's, they're both good.
03:57We'll land on the right color for the wallpaper, and this place is about to slay. Step into the
04:03living room. We'll deck the walls in chinoiserie and bring in oversized, comfy furniture, perfect
04:08for glam gatherings or cozy nights for two. Gorgeous window treatments will keep things chic
04:13and private, and we'll spice up the whole look with big pops of color and custom access. Now this
04:19is a living room that is living. The dining room, a lot of people consider one of the most formal
04:25rooms in the house, so I think that this is the room to really go for it, right? In what way?
04:30Okay. I think that we do pink lacquered walls. Pink lacquered walls? Mm-hmm.
04:40Go on. I would love to try to find a pink chandelier. Ah! I think we need to take it up another
04:47notch. We're doing gold leaf wallpaper on the ceiling in here. Like in the stairwell. Love it.
04:55How am I supposed to eat in here when I'm gagging and throwing up from that laganza? Get ready to
05:01dine in style. These walls will shine in sparkly pink, and the fireplace, we're bidding farewell to
05:06the historical tile to make way for a more modern look. The ceiling is going full gold, and at center
05:11stage, we'll have a large jade green table with plush seating and an oversized chandelier, and we'll
05:17personalize the space with chic accents and the custom portrait we're waiting on. So fancy.
05:25The butler's pantry. I've never known someone with a room like this, so I don't even know what you
05:31traditionally do with this. Right. If you don't have butlers. Yeah. We are our own butlers.
05:35So I've got an idea. What if we get some finished bird cages, open them up, actually put a base on it so
05:42that they can be shelves, and you can use them to store glassware, liquor. We have all this light
05:47coming in. It's going to play off of it. It'll be a beautiful background to the dining room. Could
05:52kind of be a butler's pantry slash bar. You had me a liquor. I was going to say it's five o'clock
06:00somewhere. Right. Our butler's pantry is serving glam with a twist. Love. Now we're off to gather
06:07some inspiration from a friend of ours who has mingled with many a butler.
06:15You got the flowers, Dave? I do. Hello. Oh, there she is. Oh, hello. Oh. Were you just in the
06:25neighborhood? Yeah, I was just out picking some apples. Lisa Vanderpump is one of our closest
06:30friends and confidants. On top of being a massive TV personality and a hospitality mogul,
06:35she's an amazing hostess who never settles for anything but the best. Tea? Sure. Yeah. She was
06:42indispensable to us when we were renovating the Trixie Motel. David, I've got the tea you like. Oh.
06:48With all the happenings at our house and the upcoming party, we're here for inspiration.
06:52Lisa's advice is always pure gold. Double the budget, double the time. You're nearer the mark,
06:57right? Yes. You told us that when we started the motel. I'm going to say normally you have to
07:01double the time and double the money. Lisa Vanderpump inspired the theme of the pink flamingo room.
07:07Oh, hold on. Pink. These are so cute. Flamingo lights. We can do a whole flamingo room. Pink
07:16flamingos embody the spirit of Palm Springs. David and Trixie really have confidence in me and my
07:23opinion. They know I'm always going to be straight with them. What do you think the secret is to being
07:30such a good host and party thrower? Most importantly, you've got to be relaxed and also have nice serving
07:37pieces. Buy things that you love to present on. Listen, we're on a budget and I really want
07:42something handmade. What do you think about making our own plate? Yeah, I did that for our country house
07:46in England. You do it on the wheel? Oh no, I didn't do that. I painted them. Oh, you're going to actually
07:51make them on the wheel? We want to. Oh, that's ambitious. She wants to. I have found beautiful pink
07:58plates with birds on them from France that you would love, but Trixie's convinced that she can make
08:03herself a set of plates for our dining room. No, sweetie, you can't do that. Of course, Trixie is
08:09absolutely living on another planet. I'm going to go down to the pottery studio and I'm going to throw down
08:14and I'm going to prove you all wrong. I mean, there's budget and there's budget. I'll tell you
08:18what, if I can't pull out beautiful plates, we can buy the expensive ones you want. I look forward
08:24to seeing the expensive ones. Me too. Okay, let's go to decoration, shall we? I mean, you know, what I
08:31found is you can sit there all day and go back and forth on something, but you kind of just have to go
08:35with your gut, like with the fireplace. Fireplace. So our house was built in 1922 and there's an
08:42original tiled fireplace. They're called Batchelder tiles. We want to retile the fireplace.
08:49You can't touch those. It's a piece of history. Some things, my dear, are best left untouched.
08:57I thought you said, your house has to be your sanctuary. Did I say it like that?
09:04I understand authenticity. Don't touch a fireplace. Don't.
09:12Well, what have you done? We've already smashed it. We started swinging hammers.
09:20Are you serious? Oh, God.
09:29Don't touch a fireplace. Don't.
09:32We're doing, like, a high gloss pink wall. We're doing green. Like, I'm afraid of leaving the one thing untouched and then it looks like we have something in the room that does not belong.
09:34We've already smashed it.
09:37We started swinging hammers.
09:40Are you serious?
09:41Yes.
09:42Did anybody see you smash it?
09:44No.
09:48Oh, God.
09:51We're doing like a high-gloss pink wall.
09:53We're doing green.
09:54Like, I'm afraid of leaving the one thing untouched,
09:58and then it looks like we have something in the room that does not belong.
10:01Yeah, but it's history, right?
10:03I don't believe anybody's ever gone to a state penitentiary
10:06for changing the tile in a fireplace.
10:08Oh, yeah, you might.
10:10If there's a preservation order, these laws are there for a reason.
10:15It's a law?
10:16It could be, yes.
10:17Oh, God.
10:19If I'm going to go to jail, it's going to be for wearing white after Labor Day,
10:21not for smashing antiquities.
10:24Well, we came here so that you could tell us everything was going to go okay,
10:26not freak us out.
10:27Oh, okay, let's start again.
10:28You know what?
10:29It's all going to be fine, like that.
10:30You don't get advice from someone of this caliber every day,
10:35so when Lisa Vanderpump gives you advice, you listen.
10:40So this morning, we're on our way to get some essentials for the upcoming party,
10:44and I have to say, I did lose a little beauty sleep
10:46over Lisa Vanderpump's reaction to David Nye smashing the fireplace tiles.
10:50I don't want people to walk in the dining room and be like, what the hell did you do?
10:54We looked into it, and thankfully, there isn't a preservation order,
10:57so we won't get into any trouble for smashing those tiles.
11:00However, we've decided to embrace the fireplace as a significant piece of history
11:06from the original 1920s home.
11:08We're literally having our friends over for a dinner party in the dining room
11:13right next to the cracked fireplace.
11:14Their eyes will be on there.
11:17Not only do we have the same fireplace, we now just have it broken.
11:21Now we have to fix something that we should have never touched anyway.
11:25So we're just creating problems, which is a great way to stay on budget.
11:28But now we have to break the news to Dan.
11:32Daniel?
11:33Daniel?
11:34Here's my full legal date.
11:36Well, we're calling with this situation, so I'm wondering, please don't be mad.
11:40Can we keep the fireplace tile, and can we repair what we did
11:44so that people don't think that we ever did it?
11:48Um, you're giving me a week to find the exact same tile
11:55and get it delivered and installed?
11:58I mean, I don't know much about renovations.
12:00Everything has to be in terms of hair and makeup,
12:02but maybe there's someone who can just camouflage it,
12:04you know, like concealer for the fireplace.
12:07I need to do some research into this.
12:09I just, I don't know if this is even possible.
12:12You might have cracked broken tiles at your party.
12:16I will be in touch.
12:17Okay.
12:19Well, he didn't seem happy, but he didn't seem like it's impossible.
12:23So let's just see what happens.
12:24Worst case scenario, we'll hatchet ourselves.
12:30While we wait for news on the fireplace tiles,
12:33work at the house is in high gear.
12:36With new electrical being installed throughout,
12:38we just have 10 days to get the whole main floor
12:42into dazzling drag.
12:43And, you know, we're on a budget.
12:45So to keep things on track,
12:46we're going to dive in and get our hands dirty.
12:49Will you hand me a little screw?
12:50The light fixtures in the living room
12:51and the wallpaper all need to come down.
12:54All right.
12:55These.
12:56Oh, well.
12:58We can repurpose these.
12:59Yeah, wait.
13:01Let's see.
13:01Those are the nicest earrings you've ever had.
13:05Shut up.
13:09There you go.
13:11How about next time I'm getting out of drag,
13:12you just get these bottles,
13:14put makeup remover in there?
13:15Are you kidding?
13:19I'm like smoking you.
13:21You're so much better at this.
13:22Yours aren't getting it wet enough.
13:23Okay.
13:25You know when death becomes her,
13:26when they're like peeling?
13:28Yeah.
13:28That is what this is.
13:34With the living room underway,
13:36Dan is coming by to run some rug samples by us.
13:38That green works me out.
13:40This is going to be the whole living room.
13:41Mm-hmm.
13:42That's fierce.
13:43It's huge.
13:44And back in the kitchen,
13:45Orr and his team are working away.
13:47They've almost finished laying down
13:48the stunning tile floor.
13:50Now they're working on the cabinet,
13:51prepping them for a sweet pink paint job.
13:54But what's really going to make this kitchen live
13:56is the countertops.
13:58Wow.
14:02I've never been anywhere like this.
14:04Neither have I.
14:06Wow.
14:07Yeah.
14:08Welcome to Stone Land.
14:09Oh my gosh.
14:10Yeah.
14:12How many kitchens do you think we're doing?
14:15This is like...
14:16Let's go look.
14:18All right.
14:18Let's go this way.
14:19Wow.
14:25Love that.
14:26This is marble.
14:32I want something high impact.
14:33I want something when you walk into that room,
14:36your jaw drops.
14:36Yeah, I feel the same way.
14:38I want people to feel like,
14:39whoa, that is a countertop
14:40that only David and Trixie would have.
14:42I mean, we'll know in person
14:43when we see it, I think.
14:44Oh, I will know when I see her.
14:45Yeah.
14:46And there's a little surprise in store.
14:48Two weeks ago, Dan and I came here
14:50and found a countertop
14:50that I know Trixie will love.
14:52It wasn't cheap,
14:53but we crunched some numbers
14:54and freed up some room in the budget.
14:56And with some of my own personal savings,
14:58we've got it covered.
15:00It's so worth it.
15:01I know Trixie is going to love these countertops.
15:04David, Trixie, this is Gali.
15:06Nice to meet you.
15:07Nice to meet you.
15:07Nice to meet you, absolutely.
15:09Gali's the owner of StoneLand
15:10and she's going to show us her best pink slabs.
15:12This is Chanel Onyx.
15:14This is two version of Chanel Onyx.
15:16Beautiful.
15:17Yeah.
15:17This is the pink Onyx.
15:19It's so like, I don't know,
15:20it almost looks like water.
15:22So cool.
15:23Yeah.
15:23And look at that.
15:24This is a precious stone.
15:26This is a rose quartz.
15:28Pay attention.
15:29Those are really rose quartz pieces.
15:31Oh my God.
15:32So these are real rose quartz.
15:34Real rose quartz, like all composed together.
15:37This is high impact.
15:39This is unbelievable.
15:41What is the durability rating of this?
15:43This is in a seven category of durability.
15:47That's good for a kitchen.
15:48This is, listen, it's very special for kitchen.
15:51I'm not going to lie.
15:52I don't have so many clients due to the price.
15:56Well, I like to look for signs
15:57and you said a seven
15:59and we are celebrating our seven years together.
16:02Oh my gosh.
16:03Congrats.
16:04And by the way,
16:05rose quartz is also a symbol of love.
16:07That's all I needed.
16:10This is the one.
16:11We're getting this one?
16:12Yeah.
16:13We are?
16:14Yes.
16:15We're getting precious stones for our house.
16:18Yes.
16:20You know I grew up in a trailer, right?
16:22This is crazy.
16:24I mean, is this in our budget?
16:25Can we do this?
16:26I've already sealed the deal, so...
16:28Are we really going to do this?
16:30I just would have honestly thought about this forever
16:32and I would have said I wish we would have got that.
16:35I just can't believe it.
16:37This is crazy.
16:39You know, it's cool.
16:43Do gays in their 30s cry over countertops?
16:47It's just, I can't believe we're going to have this.
16:49You know, sometimes there's like these moments in life
16:51where you're like, wow, that's really crazy.
16:52I just can't believe it.
16:54Thank you so much.
16:55Thank you guys so much.
16:56Absolutely.
16:57Growing up in a trailer in Wisconsin,
16:59I never, ever believed I would have countertops
17:02that looked like this.
17:04Oh, my God.
17:07Thank you so much.
17:08I love it.
17:08Oh, I love you.
17:10You deserve it.
17:12We can never move.
17:13Tick-tock, we're racing against the clock.
17:24We've cleared out the main floor
17:25and all the old wallpaper is history.
17:28While the crew works hard to revamp the kitchen,
17:30David and Dan are out hunting for the perfect materials
17:33to really make our living room roar.
17:35This, I love.
17:37It does come in pink.
17:38It does?
17:38It does.
17:39That's the one.
17:40My birthday slash housewarming party
17:43is just in eight days.
17:45I rallied my closest, most fabulous friends
17:47to celebrate with us,
17:48and they all have jam-packed schedules,
17:50so this party has to happen,
17:51and it has to really serve.
17:53And what better way to serve
17:54than on some custom ceramic dinner plates
17:56crafted by me, Trixie Mattel,
17:58queen of pottery wheels.
17:59Write it down.
18:01Okay, so maybe the closest I've gotten
18:03to a pottery wheel is watching the movie Ghost,
18:06but I have some very talented friends
18:08and have asked one specifically
18:10to come out and help me.
18:12Did you know that when you booked
18:13Brittany Broski today
18:14that Pamela Anderson was going to show up?
18:16I am still waiting.
18:18Pamela Anderson's here.
18:21I'm Brittany Broski.
18:22I'm Trixie Mattel's fraternal twin,
18:24and we're ex-neighbors.
18:27Brittany is my straight-shooting Texas friend.
18:31What's the reaction if you don't like it?
18:33Are you going to try to hide it at all,
18:34or are you just going to look at me
18:35and say, this sucks?
18:35No, I'll lie.
18:36Not only is she a super famous
18:38social media personality,
18:39she's one of those people who is so loyal
18:41that she would help me put out a dumpster fire
18:43by throwing her body on top of it.
18:45This is nicer than my home.
18:47Today we are at Bitterroot Pottery Company,
18:50and we'll be making plates, bowls.
18:53Not sure.
18:53They don't tell me much.
18:54I just show up when I'm called.
18:57Hey, y'all.
18:58Oh, my God, hi.
18:59Hi.
18:59Hi.
19:00I'm Julie.
19:00I'm going to be teaching y'all today.
19:02So what brought y'all in today?
19:03I just bought a house.
19:04I'm hosting a dinner party for my birthday,
19:06and I've always dreamed of having custom clay plates.
19:10I am not sure if this idea of creating
19:14a custom ceramic plate set for the party
19:18is really doable,
19:20but I'm happy to be a part of this disaster.
19:22Is it okay if I show y'all a demo?
19:24Please.
19:24Okay.
19:25I'm going to wet my hands.
19:26We're going to flatten it out just a little bit.
19:28I'm going to lead in with this part of my hand.
19:33And I'm just slowly going to go down.
19:36We cannot do this.
19:38I was going to say, let's just, you know what, let's try.
19:40Nothing starts with a negative attitude.
19:42That is so true.
19:43I was a bald man this morning.
19:44I want y'all to think about that.
19:45Me too.
19:50This is really a lot.
19:51Wow.
19:54Wow.
19:56Oh, my gosh.
19:58I can't believe I haven't messed this up so bad yet.
20:01Ooh.
20:03Is that okay?
20:04That's okay.
20:04Is that okay?
20:08I love the effort.
20:09I think we did a noble job.
20:11I just can't seem to get it.
20:12So I think we should put this in the kiln
20:14and see what happens.
20:15Agreed.
20:16Do you think that's saveable?
20:17I think that the hole might be too low.
20:20Oh, Haley.
20:22Pottery's a waiting game,
20:23so it'll take a few days before we see the final result.
20:26I'm not totally certain that the heat from the kiln
20:29will magically make this pottery look good.
20:33We tried.
20:35Let's just say I'm probably going to have to take
20:37Queen of Pottery off my resume,
20:38and I really hope David ordered those fancy plates.
20:44My birthday is right around the corner,
20:46and there's so much work left to do in the house.
20:48We're in the kitchen.
20:49Everything's crazy.
20:51Right now, it looks like this.
20:54Not exactly a dining room right now.
20:56Not quite.
20:58Look at the living room.
20:59Rags, tools, paint splotches, ladders,
21:03hammers, potties.
21:07David, does it pain you to see no TV on the wall here?
21:09Ah, it hurts my soul,
21:11but we're getting this huge, huge TV.
21:14I know, David's trying to talk me
21:15into getting him an 85-inch television.
21:1785 inches, baby.
21:2085 inches.
21:20It's what we deserve.
21:22It's what...
21:23Trim is going up in the kitchen,
21:25and we're selecting our paint colors.
21:27So, lower cabinets and the Wayne's coat.
21:29Upper cabinets.
21:30Next up, we need to transform our appliances
21:32from drab to fab.
21:34Dan and I are going to give the stove
21:36a glam DIY makeover.
21:38We've talked about budget and timeline.
21:39It's held us back a lot.
21:40But we've also talked about how everything
21:42you guys are asking for
21:43is a new and interesting challenge.
21:45It's a great way for all of us
21:48to see what we can do with design.
21:49We can't use just a typical paint.
21:51It has to be something that's going to stick.
21:53It's something washable.
21:54So, by using an epoxy paint,
21:56we achieve everything we want.
21:58The problem is, is once we start,
22:00we have to get it perfect the first time.
22:03So, this is the additive.
22:04Once we put this in,
22:05we have 10 minutes of working time.
22:06Oh, my God. Okay.
22:07I mean, it's already stressful,
22:09and now it's an actual timer.
22:10Being a homeowner,
22:11I think it's good to pick up these skills.
22:14But on the other hand,
22:14I know we're trying to save time and money,
22:16but if I mess this up,
22:17it means it's going to take more time and more money.
22:19I hope nobody tries this at home
22:20because I'm at home and I'm trying it,
22:22and I'm not even feeling good about it, so...
22:23I feel like every time we're working on a project
22:25and I look at Trixie, she's like, scared.
22:27Just, is it like, is it like nail polish?
22:29Because nail polish, thin layers is the move.
22:31As thick as we can get it,
22:32but we don't want drips.
22:34I'm just very pragmatic.
22:36My instinct is just to be like,
22:37well, this is going to be horrible.
22:38And that way, if it slightly turns out,
22:40we're like, ah, ah, I'm just going for it.
22:45You just went in there really bold.
22:47Well, what are we supposed to do?
22:49I know who I am.
22:50This is stressing me out.
22:54In beauty school, they said that
22:56if you can't paint your nail in three strokes,
22:57you're doing it wrong,
22:58but I don't think my instructor had man hands.
23:02While Trixie's taking the lead on the kitchen,
23:04I'm in charge of the living room.
23:05And a key concern with this space
23:07is that these windows aren't giving us any privacy.
23:10We want to cover them
23:12without sacrificing light or style.
23:14So I reached out to our friends,
23:15Andrew and Nicole,
23:16who worked wonders on the stained glass in the motel.
23:18It's going to tie right in.
23:20Look at the stained glass.
23:21I love it.
23:23They've crafted new,
23:24hopefully stunning pieces for this room.
23:27Each one of these windows
23:29has about twice as many pieces
23:31as all 10 windows from the motel combined.
23:35Crazy.
23:36So, yeah, they're pretty elaborate.
23:37So this is going to be a surprise for you as well?
23:39Like, you haven't even really seen final, final design?
23:42No, we've discussed the creative and the colors,
23:46but I have not seen the finished product.
23:47I am pretty anxious to see
23:49if these windows arrived intact.
23:51Stained glass is delicate.
23:53It's a long journey it's been on.
23:54We're optimistic,
23:56but, you know, it's...
23:57We'll find out when we open it.
23:59Well, let's do it.
24:11I am pretty anxious to see
24:13if these windows arrived intact.
24:15Please be flawless.
24:22Wow.
24:25Whoa.
24:26It is so beautiful.
24:29Unbelievable.
24:29And it's in one piece.
24:30Yes.
24:31Honestly, it's better than I imagined it would be.
24:33It's so dynamic,
24:35it's so colorful,
24:35and it's amazing.
24:37Now let's just find out if it fits in the window.
24:40Mm-hmm.
24:41Mm-hmm.
24:41Mm-hmm.
24:42Mm-hmm.
24:43Mm-hmm.
24:44Mm-hmm.
24:45Oh, it's so good.
24:47This peacock has pretty recognizable makeup configuration.
24:50I see that.
24:51Yeah.
24:52Mm-hmm.
24:53Peacock feathers were kind of like a secret sigil
24:56for the gay community in the 20s.
24:58Decided to tell that story as big and loud
25:01as we possibly could.
25:02It's magical.
25:03Wow.
25:04Functional, historic, and artistic.
25:06Like, this is the statement in this room.
25:09Yeah.
25:10Love it.
25:10Still have the other window.
25:13Set it up on here.
25:15There it is.
25:16Wow.
25:17So incredible.
25:18Was the round shape around this eye?
25:20To reference glasses,
25:21so you do have David and Trixie?
25:22It was.
25:24Ah!
25:24I love that.
25:26You're perfect.
25:28Our pleasure.
25:29Andrew and Nicole really nailed it.
25:31I'm going to keep Trixie out of the living room
25:33until the space is finished,
25:34and then it'll be a big surprise.
25:36Trixie's going to love it.
25:37It's crunch time.
25:42We only have a few days left
25:43to finish the house in time for the party.
25:45The crew is working around the clock.
25:47David's keeping me out of the living room,
25:49but the word is she's getting a facelift
25:51with the beautiful green chinoiserie wallpaper we chose.
25:54Two weeks ago,
25:55we faced some water damage at the front door.
25:57Now we're getting it fixed up
25:58and upgrading the front porch
26:00with new lighting and a sitting area.
26:02It's all unexpected costs,
26:03and it put a small dent in the budget.
26:05And in the kitchen,
26:06new countertop is being installed,
26:08and the cabinets are being painted perfectly pink.
26:12It's just 48 hours
26:13before our birthday-slash-house-warming soiree,
26:16and we're making good progress
26:17breathing gay life into this home.
26:20The dining room is getting dressed fancy in luxe pink.
26:22Gold leaf wallpaper for the ceiling
26:24will add an extra touch of elegance.
26:26And the front porch facelift is almost complete.
26:29Meanwhile, David and I are helping Dan
26:31to put a creative spin on vintage bird cages
26:33for the butler's pantry.
26:34We're transforming them into unique shelves
26:37by removing the front of them
26:38and using the inside as shelves.
26:41And just like that.
26:43You want to do one?
26:48All right.
26:49I'm not going to lie, David.
26:50You're very hot when you're doing this.
26:52I mean, did you see the way he was, like,
26:53pinning it down and like...
26:54That's right, baby.
26:56Wow, gorge.
27:00Oh, God.
27:04That looks way better than mine.
27:06You would think that the world-famous drag queen
27:08is a better painter than me,
27:10but it turns out I'm actually great
27:11at spray painting stuff.
27:14Spray painting sucks.
27:15I'm not surprised at all.
27:16It took me 15 years to figure out
27:18how to do one look.
27:20Yeah.
27:20So I was never naturally gifted at makeup.
27:22I just was tenacious.
27:24I mean, oh, God.
27:28Yeah.
27:32Did it work?
27:33It didn't even take.
27:37Everything's almost done.
27:39Dan found a reproduction shop
27:40and Rush ordered replacement tiles
27:42for the dining room fireplace.
27:44Repair work is underway
27:45and it's starting to look
27:46like a 100-year-old heartthrob.
27:48In the kitchen,
27:49the appliances are being reinstalled
27:51after their A-plus epoxy treatment
27:53and I'm helping Dan to hang the cabinet doors
27:55and zhuzh them
27:56with some extra-chic hardware.
27:58Fabulous furniture has arrived,
27:59including a colorful custom rug for the living.
28:02All the main floor spaces
28:04are getting accessorized
28:05with dazzling new light fixtures,
28:07elevating the overall look.
28:10Our custom portrait just arrived
28:12and it's so fabulous.
28:13I can't wait for Trixie to see it.
28:17Our new Hollywood home
28:18is almost ready for her close-up.
28:25Every look, every wig,
28:27every heel, every hustle,
28:29they've all led to this moment.
28:31What a wild ride.
28:33Trixie, you've come a long way, baby.
28:36And now I'm moving into my dream home
28:38with my David.
28:41Welcome.
28:42Whoa!
28:43To our home.
28:45Oh, my gosh.
28:47This is so cool.
28:49Yeah.
28:49Wow.
28:50The front porch upgrade
28:51really makes a difference.
28:54It's like a whole other room of the house.
28:56I know.
28:57Can we go inside?
28:58Yeah, let's go inside.
29:01Oh!
29:06Can we go inside?
29:07Yeah, let's go inside.
29:07I love it!
29:18I'm stunned.
29:20The pink, the green, the birds.
29:22It's like we're living in an enchanted forest
29:24of fabulousness.
29:28It feels Hollywood and sexy,
29:30and, like, it feels whatever's beyond feminine.
29:32I guess that's just gay.
29:34I love the wallpaper.
29:36Thank you, thank you, thank you.
29:37Isn't it gorgeous?
29:38My biggest fear is that I was going to walk in
29:39and see this wallpaper
29:40and know that it came in pink
29:43and wish we had done pink.
29:45It's absolutely beautiful.
29:47Ah, there's stained glass in the house.
29:50There sure is.
29:50I have to touch it.
29:54Yeah.
29:54This is amazing.
29:56They did such a good job.
29:58This way, we add some privacy,
29:59and we also add a lot of glamour and beauty.
30:02And I don't know if you noticed,
30:03but I think you just did,
30:04Nicole added a Trixie eye to the peacock.
30:07Oh, my God, that is my eye.
30:09Yeah.
30:10Well, we have the peacock for you,
30:11and then we have a peacock for me.
30:13Oh, yeah, it has, like, your little glasses.
30:15Yeah.
30:16They were a symbol of homosexuality in the 1920s,
30:19so there's, like, a little nod to that.
30:22I'm a symbol of homosexuality in the 2020s.
30:25Yes.
30:26This place is so us now.
30:28It has so much color, so much style,
30:30so much detail.
30:31I'm obsessed.
30:32This pink couch on this green wallpaper
30:35with the apple green in the rug
30:36works me out within an inch of my life.
30:39So pretty.
30:40I'm assuming this is a television.
30:42This is a TV.
30:43It's the biggest TV I've ever seen.
30:45But it has a beautiful frame on it,
30:47and it can display artwork.
30:48I do like the TV,
30:49and the frame around it
30:50really makes it vibe with the room.
30:52This is a good example
30:53of how compromises are made
30:55in healthy relationships, okay?
30:57I give you the giant screen TV,
31:00and you give me whatever I want forever
31:02for the rest of my life, no matter what.
31:08Wow!
31:09Yeah.
31:10Oh, my God.
31:11Bitch, this is amazing.
31:14I love it.
31:17Not to point out the elephant in the room,
31:19or the elephant not in the room,
31:21but the dining room table has not arrived yet.
31:24I know we're having a dinner party.
31:25I know we're having a dinner party.
31:26It should be here shortly.
31:29Well...
31:29Okay, besides the fact that our dining room
31:30is missing a dining room table...
31:32Yeah, let's focus on the positives,
31:33like this fierce chandelier.
31:36Miss Girl.
31:37Miss Honey Darling Diba.
31:39It is a antique pink Murano glass chandelier.
31:44This is the best light fixture
31:45I've ever seen in my life.
31:46Yeah.
31:47I love this gold ceiling.
31:50It's fierce.
31:51Wow.
31:52The gold and pink vibes this is serving
31:54is like...
31:55It's luxe, but it's still very inviting.
31:59Love.
32:00This is amazing.
32:02It looks exactly like you.
32:05Do I look like this?
32:07Not currently.
32:08At some point.
32:09I love the fact that we have a portrait
32:12of the two of us
32:13hanging in our very first dining room
32:15of our very first home together.
32:17Our fireplace tiles that we cracked.
32:20Can't even tell.
32:21If I had to tell you
32:22which one of these were swapped out,
32:24I would never be able to know it was these.
32:26You're not even pointing to the right ones.
32:27Is it these?
32:28No.
32:29It's this.
32:30I actually don't know.
32:31They did such a good job.
32:33Thanks to our friend Lisa Bannerpump's advice,
32:35we did a 180 on those fireplace tiles,
32:37and now with the dining room all put together,
32:39they do look perfect.
32:40The old and the new,
32:42vibing to create magic.
32:44The dining room and the living room
32:46are the best things I've ever seen
32:48in my entire gay life.
32:50I love the pink and the birds,
32:51and you're all about the animal prints
32:53and the gold.
32:54We really did it.
32:55I mean, it's cool that we've both grown
32:57to love each other's favorite things,
32:59and that's what makes the house
33:00really feel like home.
33:01It's as fabulous as we are.
33:04This really is a surf.
33:06Yeah.
33:07And it is going to serve even harder
33:09when that table gets here.
33:12Wow.
33:13Yeah.
33:14It was a little difficult to figure out
33:15what to do in here,
33:16but Dan, I think,
33:17knocked this out of the park.
33:20The bird cages, the plants,
33:21it's really vibey in here.
33:23This is like a mini bar.
33:25Gorgeous.
33:26Dan also put a little desk in here
33:28so you could work in here
33:29if you need to.
33:30Love.
33:30Yeah.
33:31Dan really took a room
33:32that was nothing
33:33and made it really something.
33:34He really did.
33:36Dan Vickery, ladies and gentlemen.
33:39My ears are burning.
33:41David, I present to you
33:43our kitchen.
33:47Whoa.
33:48After four weeks,
33:50our kitchen is finally complete,
33:52and it is peak perfection.
33:55Did we nail it?
33:56Uh, yeah.
33:57It's so sophisticated.
33:59It's so glamorous.
34:01Contemporary,
34:02but it also has a vibe
34:02of old Hollywood.
34:04I love it.
34:05And I love the light fixtures.
34:06It's like jewels.
34:08Wow.
34:08I mean, we were putting
34:09this house in drag, right?
34:10We had to bring in
34:11some good jewelry.
34:12Yeah.
34:12It's amazing.
34:13The rose quartz counters
34:14look so good.
34:15I'm so glad we chose them.
34:17It is dazzling.
34:18The floor,
34:20you walk in,
34:20you see this floor,
34:21and you're like...
34:21That's the beauty of Zolid.
34:23Every single tile
34:24is hand-chipped to size,
34:25so you get all these
34:27subtle variations,
34:28but it comes together
34:28for a complete pattern.
34:30It's so beautiful.
34:32Look at our new pink appliances.
34:34Because we spend a lot of money in here,
34:36that was a great place
34:36to save some money.
34:38Changing the color
34:38ended up being budget-friendly
34:40and great for the design.
34:41It is so satisfying
34:43knowing that I had a hand
34:44in making those appliances pink.
34:46I mean, being part of projects
34:47like this in our home,
34:49it adds that extra layer
34:50of special to the space.
34:52So much of us moving in together
34:53is me wanting to embrace
34:55this stage of our life
34:56where I'm not in drag all the time,
34:58but that doesn't mean
34:58our kitchen can't be in drag.
35:00Trixie Mattel's dream kitchen.
35:02Dream kitchen.
35:03It has blown my mind.
35:04You did such a great job.
35:06Beautiful.
35:07This is the house
35:08we have always dreamed of.
35:10All the years of hard work,
35:12all the years of hard drag,
35:14it all paid off.
35:15It truly is everything
35:17we've ever wanted.
35:18The house is so perfect
35:19and it's amazing
35:21that we did it in four weeks.
35:23We were working with $85,000
35:25to transform the main floor,
35:27including the kitchen,
35:28into glamorous, unique spaces
35:29worthy of our dream home.
35:31And now the house is completed.
35:33We tried to stay on budget,
35:34but in the end,
35:35some amazing big ticket items
35:36we couldn't resist
35:37put us just over the edge.
35:39It's more than we wanted to spend,
35:41but I love it.
35:42And we'll have a long future
35:43here together.
35:44Every cent was worth it
35:46and I can't wait
35:46for our friends to see it.
35:48So I'm cooking up
35:49our first dinner here.
35:50Now, have I ever made
35:51a fancy dinner before?
35:53No.
35:53Until now,
35:54my cooking skills
35:55are basically reheating
35:56frozen meals.
35:57But girl,
35:58I watch a lot of videos online
35:59and I'm feeling
36:00very delusionally confident
36:01that I can serve up
36:02a delicious meal.
36:04This is gonna be great.
36:06Hi, honey.
36:07I'm homo.
36:07Hi.
36:09Hungry?
36:10Where's the table?
36:11Uh, it just arrived.
36:14Oh!
36:19Where's the table?
36:21It just arrived.
36:23Oh!
36:23I thought this was supposed
36:26to be like a deep jade
36:27high-gloss table.
36:29It was.
36:30Our friends are about
36:31to walk in here
36:32and this table
36:32is not what we ordered.
36:34It's throwing shade
36:36and that's not the problem.
36:37It's throwing the wrong shade.
36:38I just, like,
36:39did not have this in mind.
36:41There's only one way
36:42to handle this situation.
36:43We put this table in drag.
36:45They're happy.
36:56I think it looks good.
36:58It looks beautiful.
36:59This table is a keeper
37:01after all.
37:04The table is looking spectacular.
