00:01Illusion. The art of tricking the brain.
00:05Distorting the senses. Challenging perception.
00:08You can't trust what you see, even with your own eyes.
00:12Meet the Masters of...
00:30Welcome to an evening where your senses will be deceived and your mind will be challenged.
00:53I'm Dean Cain and this is Masters of Illusion.
00:58Now, magic has a way of drawing us in, making us question the very fabric of reality.
01:04It's an experience that captivates, surprises, and hopefully leaves us wanting more.
01:10As we explore the absolute limit of Trino.
01:14We're going to explore the limits of Trino. How are you, my friend?
01:16I'm good, Dean. Dean, I was talking with the cast backstage.
01:19Yes.
01:20And there are some unbelievable performers this season.
01:22There really is.
01:23You being among them, of course.
01:25You being among them, yeah. This is a really long piece of paper.
01:28And, Dean, this is a, uh, a hole punch.
01:30I got a little excited earlier and I went through my hole jack.
01:33Yeah, you did.
01:34Yeah, you definitely did.
01:35Go around like this.
01:37And then watch here.
01:38Just like this, see?
01:39That's all it takes.
01:40Right here.
01:43Wow!
01:44What is that?
01:45What is that?
01:46Amazing and...
01:47Amused.
01:48Amused.
01:49And you just did that right here.
01:50That's right.
01:51Nothing's impossible.
01:52Nothing's impossible.
01:53Nothing's impossible.
01:54Well, let's see if there are any impossible acts coming up.
02:05This performer is no stranger to this stage.
02:08He's been a fan favorite on Masters of Illusion for years.
02:12Known for his hilarious antics and mind-bending magic, he is always a crowd pleaser.
02:17Please welcome back the incredible Ed Alonso.
02:29And now, I'd like to weave a tale from the past about the greatest escape artist and magician in history.
02:36The amazing Harry Houdini.
02:38Houdini was once known as the handcuff king and claimed he could escape from almost any pair of handcuffs.
02:46I have a theory to the secret.
02:48Just before they slapped the handcuffs on, they would examine Harry for any lockpicks or keys.
02:55But then, he would give his wife, Beth, a big hug and a kiss, reaching around to her hairline, stealing a bobby pin, giving him the tool he needed to get out of any pair of handcuffs.
03:08Well, it just so happens that I have a few hairpins.
03:12So tonight, I will attempt to escape from a pair of handcuffs while I'm locked inside of this tiny box.
03:20While I'm locked inside of this tiny box and my widow's cries that I am unassigned.
03:27And now, I have a one-baked hand, I have a pair of handcuffs.
03:30I am a tree who has a hand.
03:34I am a child, but I'm at a pair of handcuffs.
03:37And now, I have a
03:42a pair of handcuffs.
04:47One more!
04:55Now, winning the lottery is all about luck, but when it comes to magic, our next performer
05:12doesn't leave anything to chance.
05:14His sleight-of-hand and mind-blowing illusions will make you feel like you have struck gold.
05:20Please welcome the phenomenal Eric Jones.
05:34So, who likes money?
05:35That wasn't everybody.
05:40That means some of you guys must have got a PPP loan, right?
05:43That's what it tells me.
05:44You know, I'm a huge, huge fan of money, and one of my big dreams has always been to win
05:50the lottery.
05:51Anybody ever want to win the lottery?
05:52I've spent so much time thinking about it that I even bought a book on how to win the
05:58lottery.
05:59And tonight, what I want to do is try something absolutely incredible, if it works.
06:05Uh, this young lady here in the second row.
06:07I'm sorry.
06:08I didn't mean to wake you.
06:09How are you?
06:10What's your name?
06:12Good to meet you.
06:13Can I have you stand right where you are?
06:15We're going to try an experiment.
06:16I'm going to give you this book.
06:17Here's what I would absolutely love you to do.
06:20What I want you to do, if you could, I want you to think about...
06:23Oh, you can close it for now.
06:25But what I'd love you to do is I want you to think about a memory, or no, actually, you
06:28know what?
06:29Think about what you would do if you actually won the lottery.
06:33Okay.
06:34And if that requires you to put your glasses on, you can do so.
06:37Oh, this was supposed to be here, not verbal, but I get it.
06:44I get it.
06:45I get it.
06:46So, you have a thought of what you would do if you win the lottery.
06:49You want to put your glasses on?
06:50Is that going to help you?
06:52Or not?
06:54This is your show, lady.
06:55I don't know what to say.
06:57Here's what I need you to do.
06:58You can go ahead and put your glasses on.
06:59And what I'd love you to do, this is going to be weird, close your eyes.
07:06And once your eyes are closed, what I would absolutely love you to do is I want you to
07:10think about that thought, about what you would do if you were to win the lottery.
07:13And I want you to thumb through the pages of the book.
07:16When you find a page that you like, you have one, you can open your eyes, open the book,
07:21remember the page number that you see, then close the book.
07:25Then you can pass it to the young lady to your right.
07:28But please, stay standing, yes?
07:29And what is your name?
07:30Manu.
07:31Good to meet you as well.
07:32That's a beautiful name.
07:35We all have glasses.
07:36That's good.
07:37That's awesome.
07:38If you don't mind doing the same thing, think about something you'd like to do if you were
07:42to win the lottery.
07:43When you have that thought, close your eyes, thumb through the pages of the book, open the
07:47book, take a look at a page that you see, remember the page, then close the book.
07:51You have one?
07:52Yes.
07:53Would you mind passing it to the person, too?
07:56Got four more to go, guys.
07:59Hi, what's your name?
08:00Silva.
08:01Good to meet you, Silva.
08:02Same thing, get a thought, close your eyes, remember the thought, scroll through the book,
08:08take a look at a page, remember the number in case you see it.
08:11You'll all understand why we're doing this in a moment.
08:14When you've got one, close the book, remember the number.
08:17Sir, your name?
08:18Alex.
08:19Alex.
08:20Do the same thing, get a thought, remember a page number.
08:23You got it?
08:25What is that, four?
08:26We need two more.
08:27The person to your right, your name, sir?
08:29Brian.
08:30Good to meet you, Brian.
08:31Same thing, same thing.
08:33Got one?
08:35Excellent.
08:36And the young lady?
08:37Oh, you just smacked her in the head, that's good.
08:40That works.
08:41Your name?
08:42Maya.
08:43Good to meet you, Maya.
08:44Awesome.
08:45Got one?
08:46Excellent.
08:47Would you mind passing it to the person right here?
08:49And your name?
08:50Serena.
08:51Serena.
08:52Now, I don't want you to remember a page number.
08:54Would you mind joining me on stage?
08:55Folks, can we give it up for her?
08:57I'll take you by the hand to help you up.
08:59Thank you so much.
09:00You are awesome.
09:01I'm gonna have you stand right here, if that's okay.
09:04Just right here.
09:05Now guys, I want to do a quick recap.
09:07I came out and I talked about money, and a lot of people, obviously you guys have money,
09:11since you don't want to win the lottery.
09:12And I get that, that's okay.
09:14Then I decided I wanted to try and experiment.
09:16We picked six people at random, and you each thought of a page while you're thinking about
09:22what you would do if you won the lottery.
09:24Like I told you from the very beginning, I spend a lot of time thinking about the lottery.
09:28In fact, so much time that I play the lottery quite often.
09:32In fact, before I pass this book out, I placed a single lottery ticket inside of the book.
09:38If you don't mind opening it to the first page.
09:40What do you see there?
09:42Lottery ticket.
09:43A lottery ticket.
09:44Powerball.
09:45Powerball, it is.
09:46Yeah.
09:47Here's what I would love you to do, if you don't mind.
09:48I want you to read the first five numbers.
09:50We'll get to the Powerball in a second.
09:52What do you see there?
09:53Um.
09:54You can start right there.
09:55Right here, these numbers.
09:56Oh.
09:57Fourteen.
09:58Fourteen.
09:59Twenty-eight.
10:00Twenty-eight.
10:01Thirty-three.
10:02Thirty-three.
10:03Forty-two.
10:04Forty-two.
10:05Fifty-four.
10:06Fifty-four.
10:07Fifty-four.
10:08And there's a Powerball.
10:09What's that Powerball number?
10:10Oh, eight.
10:11Oh, eight.
10:12Guys, if I said your number, if she said your number, please.
10:16Sit down.
10:23We're tearing up for our vote.
10:25Thank you so much.
10:26You are awesome.
10:27Please.
10:35Come back.
10:42Coming up.
10:43Joel Myers uses mind-bending magic like you've never seen before.
10:51And later, Jackie Yu tricks an audience member with his magic poker chips.
10:56And your job is just follow the red.
10:58I need to get my eyes fixed.
11:00Yeah.
11:01Plus, Joshua J brings the audience into his close-up match.
11:04I'm not going to do this card trick for you.
11:06No.
11:07Ashwini is going to do the card trick for all of us.
11:09This is weirdly gratifying.
11:11Masters of Illusion is just getting started.
11:14Prepare to be entertained by a magician who brings energy, charm, and cutting-edge illusions to the stage.
11:27His fast-paced style and ability to connect with audiences makes him one of the most exciting performers in magic today.
11:44Let's give a warm welcome to Joel Myers.
11:54What is up, you guys?
11:55Bro, what's your name?
11:56My name is Foday.
11:57Foday.
11:58Everybody give Foday a big hand.
12:01That's a dope name, bro.
12:02I like your style, man.
12:03I like your ring.
12:04That's pretty cool.
12:05Could I actually borrow your ring?
12:06Is that cool?
12:07We're going to try something pretty cool with your ring.
12:09Now, Foday, a lot of people don't know this.
12:11I don't know what type of material this is, but metal and silver and gold are actually really hard to heat up just using human body heat.
12:22I'll show you what I mean.
12:23If you kind of hold it in your hand.
12:24Put your hand out, Foday.
12:25I'm going to kind of hold it in your hand.
12:26Kind of put your hand around it.
12:27You can still feel it's kind of cool, right?
12:28It takes a while for it to heat up.
12:29Even whenever it's been on your finger, it stays pretty cool.
12:32Here's the deal, Foday.
12:33I'm going to try and heat this up to an impossible point.
12:36And the way that I'm going to do this is by using my fingers like that.
12:38I'm going to kind of rub it just like this.
12:40Foday, you can kind of put your fingers on it, too, just like that.
12:42Yeah, kind of just a few people.
12:43That's okay when you're trying.
12:44There we go.
12:45You feel it just like that.
12:46Now, watch the ring.
12:47I'm going to do this as slowly as I can.
12:49Watch close.
12:50There we go.
12:51I'm going to kind of do it like this.
12:53You're going to actually see something start to happen here, Foday.
12:56Check this out.
12:57There we go.
12:59It'll actually start to change the consistency to where it almost looks like it's melting
13:06just like that.
13:07Of course, this is an illusion, Foday, and it's actually just your ring, bro.
13:14This performer is a magician who has captivated audiences around the globe with his innovative,
13:32visually stunning magic.
13:34And known for pushing the boundaries of traditional illusions, please welcome the incredible Jackie Yu.
13:41Thank you so much.
13:44Yeah, I'm Jackie Yu again.
13:45And what's your name?
13:46Sarah.
13:47Sarah, nice to meet you.
13:48Good to meet you.
13:49Now we are going to play a simple game.
13:51Okay?
13:52Here I have coasters.
13:53And as you can see, two blue and one red.
13:56And I'm going to shuffle these and your job is just follow the red one.
14:00Okay.
14:01Are you ready?
14:02Yes.
14:03Here's red.
14:04And red.
14:05See?
14:06Now shuffle them up.
14:07And shuffle more.
14:08And where's the red one?
14:10It's right here.
14:11Yeah, most of you will probably choose this.
14:13But if you choose this, you lose money because this is blue.
14:16And this is blue.
14:18And this is red.
14:20See?
14:21See?
14:22Yeah.
14:23See?
14:24Yeah.
14:25Thank you so much.
14:26This is a, this is a scam.
14:28You can often find it in popular Travis spots around the world.
14:31You've got money, but you could never win.
14:33Let's do this again.
14:34Here's red.
14:35And two blue.
14:36Red.
14:37And red.
14:38See?
14:39And I shuffle them.
14:40Where's red?
14:41All the way over there.
14:42Yeah.
14:43Normally people choose this, but this is blue.
14:45See?
14:46And this is blue.
14:47Where's red?
14:49Yeah.
14:50Maybe this, right?
14:51Yeah.
14:52But this is blue.
14:53And the blue.
14:54And this is red.
14:55I didn't get my eyes fixed.
14:57Yeah.
14:58All right.
14:59All right, Sarah.
15:00This time, to make it easier, I place the focus here at the center.
15:05This is red.
15:06I place focus right here.
15:07And two blue, right?
15:08Yeah.
15:09One and one.
15:10I shuffle them up.
15:11See?
15:12No matter how much I shuffle, you can always follow the red poster with red focus.
15:16Right?
15:17So now I have one and two blue coasters.
15:20And where's red?
15:21Right here.
15:22Yeah.
15:23Obviously, it's right here.
15:24But look carefully.
15:26If I remove this, this is blue.
15:29And blue.
15:30So you never play this game.
15:32Here's red.
15:33Thank you so much.
15:34A big end for Sarah!
15:36Coming out, Joshua Jay brings the audience to his magic.
15:45I'm not going to do this card trick for you.
15:47No.
15:48Ashwini is going to do the card trick for all of us.
15:51This is weirdly gratifying.
15:55And later, my win does her famous speedy transformation act.
16:06Plus, Nathaniel Siegel uses an audience member's money to perform a unique trick.
16:10I didn't think you were going to be doing poor bombing on national TV, but here we are.
16:13Masters of Illusion has way more tricks up its sleeve.
16:17Get ready to be amazed by a magician whose passion for the art of magic shines through every performance.
16:38Known for his innovative tricks and engaging storytelling, he has wowed audiences in over 100 countries.
16:46Please welcome the incredible Joshua Jay.
16:55It's been said that all card magic is a matter of perspective.
17:00And for this next one, I want to shift the perspective in two ways you've never seen before.
17:05The first way is, I'm not going to do this card trick for you.
17:08No.
17:09Ashwini is going to do the card trick for all of us.
17:13No pressure.
17:14You'll do great.
17:15You look petrified now.
17:17You'll be fine.
17:18And the second perspective that will shift is how close you are to this trick.
17:22You see, whenever anybody sees me do close-up magic, they say, yeah, but I wish I was closer.
17:26I mean, I wish I was, like, right on top of the magic.
17:29You've thought that before.
17:30Yes.
17:31Absolutely.
17:32Totally, like, stop talking to me.
17:33Okay.
17:34But here's the thing.
17:35You can never get close enough.
17:37But in this trick, you're going to get close enough.
17:40You're going to be so close.
17:41To eliminate any sleight of hand or misdirection, I'm going to lay on the ground right here so that you can get a perfect perspective of everything.
17:50And I can't shift around you because I'm stuck in one spot.
17:53Now, every time I do this trick, I lose a playing card.
17:57That's why I've only got about half the deck left.
17:59Now, Ashwini, I'm going to riffle through these cards, and you're going to call stop any time you like.
18:04Are you ready?
18:05Yes.
18:06Go away.
18:07Stop.
18:08Right there.
18:09Can you see that card?
18:10Remember it.
18:11Okay.
18:12You got it?
18:13Got it.
18:14And would you remember it as well?
18:15Yes.
18:16Great.
18:17Ashwini, take the cards in your own hands.
18:18Now, you can see that my hands are empty, and I'm stuck here on the ground where I can't do anything.
18:23Now, I said you're going to do this trick, so spread out the cards as if you're going to have somebody pick a card.
18:28What's your name?
18:29Unj.
18:30Unj.
18:31Unj, you're going to pick a card, but I want you to imagine that you're taking out her card.
18:35Just pretend to do it.
18:36Don't actually take one.
18:38Ooh, nice one.
18:40Now, don't look at it.
18:41Keep it against your body.
18:42You got it?
18:43For the first time, Ashwini, what was the name of the card you saw?
18:47King of diamonds.
18:48Unj, this is your moment.
18:50Show us what you got.
18:52Ladies and gentlemen, the king of diamonds.
18:56You don't believe me.
18:59You guys do not believe me, but I can prove it.
19:02You see, if we really did take that card out of the deck, then it should be gone.
19:08Which means if you turn those cards face up, and you deal them one by one, dropping them on my face, you should see no king of diamonds.
19:15Go ahead.
19:16Drop them one by one on my face.
19:18Sorry.
19:19Sorry.
19:20This is weirdly gratifying.
19:23Oh.
19:24Just stop when you get to that king of diamonds.
19:30Unfortunately, your aim kind of sucks, but it's still great.
19:33It's still great.
19:34Gone?
19:36I told you, Ange, that you have that card.
19:45Now, to prove it, let's take this to a whole new perspective.
19:49I want you to tear the corner off of that card.
19:52Like, tear a little corner off.
19:54Oh, this is an Oscar-winning performance.
19:56I love it.
19:57Now, where's the card?
19:58Where's the corner?
19:59Corner card.
20:00Okay, put the card in your pocket.
20:01We don't need that.
20:02And I want you to place the piece right here on my hand.
20:08Can you see it?
20:09Can you see it?
20:10You can see it there.
20:11You don't believe me.
20:13Look, I'll make it visible for you.
20:20Do you see that that's really the corner that you tore off that king of diamonds?
20:25But I said that this was about a change in perspective.
20:30Ange, you picked this card out of the deck.
20:34You tore this corner.
20:36Reach into your pocket.
20:39Pull out a real card.
20:42And that's the shift in perspective.
20:46Hold that piece up.
20:48Make sure that's a perfect match.
20:49Hold it up so that they can see it.
20:50Let the camera see it right there.
20:52That's the shift in perspective we're looking for.
20:55Thank you guys very much.
21:11Coming up, my win does her famous speedy transformation act.
21:15And later, Nathaniel Siegel uses an audience member's money to perform a unique trick.
21:24I didn't think you were going to be doing forecoming on national TV, but here we are.
21:27Prepare to be amazed by a magician whose talent and mastery of magic have astounded audiences around the world.
21:49With every performance, she pushes the limits of what's possible.
21:53Let's give a warm welcome to the extraordinary Mae Wynn.
21:58Feel aенный way of holding the Saiyajac Dead!
22:01Sorry, let's give it a whirl of waste.
22:03The minutes you put your attention to the stairs dip.
22:08Clay Consolta- healthcare.
22:10The time you used to hop into the stairs.

24:12Let's give a warm welcome to Nathaniel Siegel.
24:20Thank you so much. Thank you. You're very kind.
24:25I'd like to see if I can borrow some money from somebody in the audience.
24:28Somebody have cash. Just raise your hand if you have cash.
24:30Hi, yes. What is your name?
24:32My name is John.
24:32John, nice to meet you. I'm Nathaniel. Would you mind setting up?
24:35Let's give John a round of applause.
24:36Yes.
24:37Thank you. Thank you.
24:38You have a little bit of cash on you?
24:39Yeah, let's take it out. Let's see what you got.
24:41Yeah, yeah. I just want to see if I can borrow a couple of bills,
24:44maybe of a different denomination.
24:46Let's see what you got.
24:48Perfect. Perfect.
24:48Oh, let's see. A one in a 20 is perfect.
24:51Yeah, you can put your wallet away and we'll play a little game here.
24:54John, you're going to hand me one bill,
24:56and you're going to hold on to one bill for yourself.
24:58It doesn't matter which. We won't be judging him.
25:00But go ahead and do that now. I won't even look.
25:03You got it?
25:04Oh, okay. That's very generous. Thank you for TV, I think.
25:08John, what you're going to do is we're going to play a little game of do as I do.
25:11Go ahead, and you're going to fold the bill in half this way, all right?
25:15Just like... Actually, the other way around so you can see the present on the outside.
25:18Just like so.
25:21Perfect. Great job. Great job.
25:22Yeah. You can see that right there. Perfect.
25:24And then we're going to fold it again just like so.
25:29Great. You didn't think you're going to be doing origami on national TV, but here we are.
25:33And then the last fold that you're going to do is you're going to fold it down just like this
25:36so you can see the numbers on both sides.
25:39You see, we have the $20 right there, and, John, you've got the $1 bill.
25:43Excellent.
25:44Well, very well done. Nice job.
25:46All right, we got the $1 and the $20.
25:47Put your hand out for me just like that.
25:49Close your hand up just like this and turn your hand over.
25:51Perfect.
25:51Now, let's see.
25:53We're going to try...
25:54I'm going to try to go for one of those bills.
25:55What should I go for, the $1 or the $20?
25:57Oh, the $20.
25:57The $20? Perfect.
25:59Okay.
25:59We'll go for the $20.
26:00Big money.
26:00Here we go.
26:01All right, you can release the death grip.
26:03That's okay, John.
26:03Here we go.
26:04Just like that.
26:04Hold on to this one really tight.
26:06Very good.
26:06And let's see.
26:07I've got the 1.
26:10It's a 50-50 chance.
26:11I was off by 1.
26:12But I've got the 1.
26:14You have the 20.
26:14You know what?
26:15If I wanted to get the 20, it would look like that.
26:19I have the 20, which means, John, you have...
26:22Open your hand.
26:23You've got the $1 bill.
26:24Yes?
26:25Yes?
26:26And those are both of your bills.
26:28Thank you very much.
26:30Thank you, John.
26:31You can have a seat.
26:34Coming up, Dan Sperry gets the audience hyped up for his unique act.
26:41Magic show.
26:42Get excited.
26:57Get ready for a magic experience like no other.
27:01This performer combines shock and awe with incredible sleight of hand, leaving audiences both thrilled and bewildered.
27:10Please give a very warm welcome to the unforgettable Dan Sperry.
27:15Hey, magic show.
27:19Hey, for being cool and coming to see us and for tuning in to the 11th season of Masters of Illusion, I'm going to peel back the curtain as we're saying thank you.
27:28I'm going to give you guys a gift that you can take home and you at home watching can have at home to put together your very own little magic trick that you can take and share with your family and your friends.
27:38Kids, you can take this to school or Sunday school and freak out your friends or your teachers.
27:42Adults, you can take this to work, show it to your boss, freak them out, quit your job, start a cult, whatever you want.
27:47I don't care.
27:48You have more fun as a follower, but you make more money as a leader.
27:51Well, here's the thing.
27:52It's a very simple magic trick that anybody at any skill level can do.
27:55It's called the mystery of the color-changing handkerchief.
27:58So it uses everyday objects.
27:59First, I'm going to perform it for you.
28:01Then I'm going to step back and teach it to you step by step so you know exactly what's going on.
28:05So the first thing you need, as I mentioned, color-changing handkerchief, you need a handkerchief or a bandana, or in this case, a Dan-ban.
28:10I need someone like you're in the front row, you're convenient.
28:12I want you to go ahead, check it out.
28:14Make sure there's no holes, no pockets, it doesn't turn inside out or nothing weird like that, of course.
28:18It's a magic show, so you need a magic wand like this one.
28:21Ooh.
28:22Okay, this is ridiculous, but you get the idea.
28:24You get a paper towel roll, some paint and some tape.
28:26You got a magic wand, boys and girls, magic show.
28:29So you looked at the magic wand, how's it, what's your name again?
28:32Lenar.
28:32Lenar?
28:33Okay, Lenar.
28:33It's all good?
28:35Just a handkerchief or a bandana, whatever.
28:37Now, in order to make it change color, you make a tight fist like this.
28:40You start tucking the handkerchief in the top because after it changes color, you're going to pull out the bottom.
28:44Different color.
28:44You don't tell anybody that, obviously.
28:46I'm explaining this because I'm about to teach it to you.
28:48I probably shouldn't have even started.
28:50So you start tucking it down in the top of your fist, deep dark down into the deep dark crevices of your fist.
28:55When it's about halfway down much like this, you need to make the magic.
28:57In order to make the magic, you get the magic wand.
29:00So with a little wave, a tap, ooh, and a squeeze,
29:03it magically goes from white to red.
29:06Magic show, I know, this could be you.
29:08Pass the plate.
29:09As you squeeze, it comes out the bottom red.
29:11You tuck it to the top white, give a squeeze, pull the bottom red.
29:13Tuck it to the top white, give a squeeze, pull the bottom red.
29:15Write down a couple pointers about this.
29:16If you're going to show this to, like, a group of people that are colorblind,
29:20they're not going to have any idea of what is going on.
29:22And they're going to have the exact same reaction you guys are having right now.
29:26Thanks for being grateful.
29:27Now, as it goes in white, you pull at the bottom red,
29:29and that's how you make a handkerchief turn from white to red.
29:31Magic show.
29:33Get excited.
29:34So now you know what to look for.
29:36Now I'm going to back it up.
29:37Teach it to you step by step.
29:39As I mentioned, you need to get a nice bandana or part of daddy's tie
29:42or mommy's handkerchief or some fancy restaurant, you know, napkin,
29:45whatever you have lying around.
29:46What was he again?
29:47Lenar.
29:48Lenar, that's what I said.
29:48Don't interrupt me.
29:49Lenar, I want you to check out the handkerchief.
29:51Make sure it doesn't turn inside out.
29:52There's no little hidden pockets, nothing weird like that.
29:55So we're going to have another handkerchief.
29:56He's checking out.
29:56Now I'm going to show you exactly how to do the magic.
29:59Because you remember, it's a magic show.
30:01I have a magic wand.
30:02Ooh, tape, paint, whatever.
30:04Lenar, how's it look?
30:06It's cool, man.
30:07All right, good.
30:08Oh, sorry.
30:08I forgot to mention this is my 2020 handkerchief.
30:10You're going to want to wash your hands.
30:12Hey, Lenar, name a number.
30:13One to five.
30:14Four.
30:15Four.
30:15No.
30:16Okay, doesn't matter.
30:17Here's the idea.
30:17You start tucking it in the top of your fist.
30:19You've seen this part.
30:20It starts going down the deep, dark crevices of your fingers.
30:23As you remember, when it's about halfway down like this,
30:25you get the magic wand.
30:26You give a little wave, a tap.
30:28Ooh, and a square.
30:29You squeeze, and that's when it comes out the bottom red.
30:31Magic show.
30:32Now, a couple things.
30:33People might think that there's like a string or something,
30:36and as I tuck it in and give it a squeeze,
30:38the white handkerchief is secretly going up my sleeve
30:41and into my jacket.
30:42Look, I'll roll back my sleeves.
30:44It's not going up my sleeves.
30:45When you perform this yourself, so you can roll your sleeves up.
30:47You can do it without sleeves.
30:48I can only roll my sleeves up this much,
30:49because I'm ripped.
30:50I'm huge, right?
30:50So big.
30:51Some people think that maybe there's like a hidden pocket,
30:54a little sort of prosthetic or something,
30:56a little piece of velcro I pop it over, tuck it at you,
30:57but that's ridiculous.
30:59Not a bad theory, but ridiculous.
31:01The secret, actually, is in the wand.
31:04Remember, you're making this stuff at home.
31:06When I give a little wave, that does nothing.
31:08But when I give a tap,
31:10that's when I secretly extend the hidden blade
31:13from inside the wand.
31:14And when I tap, I make a small incision.
31:21And now it's emo night.
31:23And when I squeeze, it comes out.
31:25Well, hands down, this is the best.
31:26Whatever.
31:26All right, now, I understand this can be a little extreme for some people,
31:30especially if you're watching, you know, on TV.
31:32Some people are like, my kids are too, you know, it freaks them out.
31:34It's too much because, you know, my kids are wuss.
31:36So we'll back it up.
31:37If the sign of blood makes you comfortable or anything like that, it can happen.
31:41You stop halfway.
31:42You've got to think about others, right?
31:44There's the message, kids.
31:45So when that happens, you squeeze, you give a snap,
31:47and that's when you're left with one half-dyed white,
31:49one half-dyed red, handkerchief,
31:52and that's it.
31:53You're welcome, Magic Show.
31:57Coming out, Farrell Dillon surfs out of a straitjacket to close out the show.
32:02So I wanted to bring the idea of surfing to my magic show,
32:04and I made this little invention in order to do the straitjacket escape while surfing.
32:09And now for the moment we've all been waiting for.
32:15Okay, prepare to be entertained by a magician whose style is as lighthearted as it is mind-blowing.
32:37With a mix of comedy, sleight of hand, and a larger-than-life personality,
32:41he's been a standout performer on both television and live stages.
32:44Let's give a warm welcome to the incredible Farrell Dillon.
32:56So, just recently, I moved to Las Vegas to do magic shows,
33:00and it's really exciting to be in Las Vegas.
33:03But there's things about...
33:04I grew up in California, and there's things about California that I really miss.
33:07One of those things is being able to go surfing pretty much any time that I want to.
33:11I don't get a chance to go very often anymore,
33:14so I wanted to bring the idea of surfing to my magic shows.
33:16And I made this little invention in order to do that.
33:18It starts with this thing.
33:19This is an old sign that says my name, but it also serves a very specific purpose.
33:24It's actually two pieces of wood that sandwich a Lazy Susan.
33:27It creates a swiveling platform.
33:28I'll show you guys what this does.
33:30Here we go.
33:33Yeah, I do that every morning in front of my mirror, and I laugh for hours.
33:36Then I put my clothes on.
33:39No, it's a joke.
33:40I don't put my clothes on.
33:42But I realize that that's not the exact feeling of surfing.
33:44Surfing has two real distinct motions.
33:46So I got this.
33:47This is a pipe.
33:48It goes on top of the swiveling platform.
33:50On top of that, I place a surfboard.
33:53And this creates the real feeling of surfing.
33:54I'll show you all what this looks like.
33:56Here we go.
34:04Yeah.
34:12Now that I've got the real feeling of surfing, I needed to do something on top of the surfboard.
34:16I didn't want to do anything easy for you, so I got one of my most difficult stunts to perform for you right now.
34:21This is a straight jacket, but I need some help from somebody out of the audience for this.
34:26Let's see who I can find.
34:29Now I want to warn you, I don't pick people raising their hands for this because you freak me out.
34:34I also want to warn you that just because you don't look at me, that doesn't mean that I can't see you, okay?
34:38It doesn't make you invisible.
34:40But I do like walking just back and forth, making eye contact with some of you.
34:43So I can see your butt clench up as I walk past.
34:46I didn't mean to scare you.
34:47But I am looking for somebody who at least seems to be having a good time.
34:52You look like you're having a good time.
34:53Hi, my name's Farrell.
34:54What's your name?
34:55Kelly.
34:55Kelly.
34:56Kelly, please join me on stage.
34:57Everybody, please give Kelly a round of applause.
35:01Nice to meet you.
35:02Kelly.
35:02You too.
35:03Kelly.
35:03Yeah.
35:03Have you ever been inside of a straight jacket before?
35:05Never.
35:06No, so today's going to be your first time.
35:07Great.
35:09Get in.
35:10Me?
35:10Yeah, you get in.
35:15Okay, no, I'm joking.
35:15Yeah, you're a YOLO.
35:17No, you don't have to get in, all right?
35:19But I would like you to take a look at the jacket.
35:21It's made out of canvas and leather.
35:22There are buckles and straps on it.
35:24Look at those.
35:24Make sure they don't come off.
35:25It's very important.
35:29Everything good, Kelly?
35:30Yep.
35:31Great.
35:31Kelly, turn the jacket around so the openings are facing me.
35:33My arms will go into the sleeves from the front.
35:36On the back of the jacket, Kelly, there are five buckles and five straps.
35:39Please start at the top.
35:40Work your way to the bottom, buckling each of those like a belt.
35:43Use a little retainer loop and everything.
35:44While you do that, I will tell you all a brief history of the straitjacket.
35:50Yeah, all the way to the last one, if you can get it.
35:52All right.
35:52Now, the straitjacket was invented in 2000 B.C. by the Egyptians.
35:57It was originally made out of paper, but then the Egyptians realized this didn't make a good
36:01restraint because people could just tear their way out.
36:04After the great Egyptian paper debacle, they decided to make the jacket from a pirate.
36:09But then they realized that's just the Egyptian word for paper, and they had to start over.
36:14Now, originally, this was invented for a game where a bunch of people would get on a stage,
36:19and they would all race to see who could remove the jacket the quickest.
36:22The winner of the race would be rewarded with the horn of a unicorn.
36:25The game eventually became so popular that it led to the demise of the unicorn race.
36:32Look, I don't want to brag or anything, but my great, great, great, great, great, great,
36:36great, great, great, great, great, great grandma, she won one of those unicorn horns.
36:41All right, Kelly, I'm glad you're done because I don't think they're buying this.
36:44But I've got two more straps and two more buckles.
36:46There's a buckle here, strap here.
36:47Those go across my body, Kelly.
36:48They buckle in the back.
36:50Tighten that as much as you possibly can.
36:51A lot of people ask me where to get straight jackets from.
36:54I got this one from TSA.
36:58You're good.
36:58Now, Kelly, when you're done with that, I've got one more strap for you.
37:02It hangs between my legs, all right?
37:03But, Kelly, I've got a method for this one.
37:06It's like football.
37:07You like football?
37:08Yeah.
37:08Great, nothing more manly than football.
37:10That's right.
37:10Yeah, so you'll be like a quarterback.
37:11I'll be the center.
37:12I'm just going to hike it to you.
37:13So, no, you stand behind me.
37:15You get ready, all right?
37:16No, this is real dude stuff, all right?
37:18There you go, good.
37:20Down.
37:22Set.
37:23All right, good.
37:24Get it.
37:24Yeah, but good.
37:24You got it.
37:25Good.
37:25All right, now look.
37:26There's a...
37:26Yeah, you did a good job.
37:27All right.
37:29Yep.
37:32Good.
37:34Got it?
37:35Yeah, man.
37:36I know you could have gone right or left, but you just went down the middle.
37:44Kelly's done a great job.
37:45I've got one...
37:45No, you're not leaving.
37:46I've got one more quick favor left to ask.
37:47If you would go over to that side of the swiveling board.
37:49Take your feet, place them against it like this.
37:51Toes on top.
37:52That'll keep them from swiveling around.
37:53You see that?
37:54Good.
37:54I will stand on the surfboard.
37:55If you would, take your hands, Kelly.
37:57Put them on my elbows.
37:59There you go.
38:00You found them.
38:00Nope, nope.
38:01Below my shoulders.
38:01There you go.
38:02You found them.
38:03Yeah, there's two of them.
38:04Yeah, sorry.
38:04Yeah.
38:05The S is what makes it plural.
38:07All right.
38:07Okay.
38:07Kelly, I'm going to...
38:08You ready?
38:09Let's try and balance.
38:10Ready?
38:10One, two, three.
38:11Nope.
38:12We're all going to die.
38:13All right.
38:13Whoa.
38:14You know, a better idea.
38:15Actually, put your hands on my shoulders.
38:16That might work a little better.
38:17Here we go.
38:17One, two, three.
38:18Yeah.
38:19Nope.
38:19That works worse.
38:20Okay.
38:20I got a better idea.
38:20I got a better idea, Kelly.
38:21Just hug me.
38:24Just get in here and just get...
38:25Yeah.
38:26Yeah, this really means a lot to me.
38:30Yeah.
38:31I'm going to try and balance.
38:32You ready?
38:33Yep.
38:33One, two, three.
38:35Dude, you smell like a Yankee candle.
38:37I don't know what that is, but it's awesome.
38:39All right.
38:39I think I'm balancing you with until you let go.
38:41Or back away fast.
38:42Like, right?
38:42Yep.
38:43That's fine, too.
38:43Good.
38:44And Kelly, you've done a wonderful job putting me in the straight jacket and for putting up
38:47with me.
38:47Everybody, please give Kelly a round of applause.
38:49Kelly, thank you so much for your help.
38:51Watch your step.
38:51Can you go back to your seat?
38:56I'm trying to clap for you, too, but...
39:00It's lit up right now.
39:01And now for the moment we've all been waiting for.
39:03The straight jacket escape while surfing.
39:06Music, music, please.
39:12All right, now I'm going to explain to you all exactly what I'm doing as I attempt to escape
39:16from this straight jacket.
39:17That way, in case you guys ever find yourself in this exact same predicament, you too can
39:22escape from a straight jacket while surfing.
39:24Now the first thing I need to do is get one of my arms up and over my head.
39:27So here we go.
39:28Arm up over the head.
39:35Okay, almost passed out.
39:45We got a little slack.
39:47Perfect.

40:05It's a little joke for the mothers
40:07Yeah, I got it. All right good. Yeah
40:12All right now the next thing I need to do is get one of my arms up and out of the sleeve. There we go arm out of the sleeve
40:23Yeah, all right got that one all right go one last wrap Kelly this one's for you
40:33Or yes, it doesn't really work that way. Oh, okay. I got it. All right now. I'm almost thank you
40:38I'm almost out of the jacket. I got one more thing left to do
40:41I've got to get the jacket up and over my head. Now normally this would be the easiest part. It's like escaping from a sweatshirt
40:47But since I've got this ridiculous contraption it eliminates my eyesight for a few seconds
40:52So if I come flying at you, dude, I'm sorry
40:56Oh, yeah, or you can catch me that'd be amazing, right? You can hold me over your head like it's dirty dancing, but with two dudes
41:03Nope, okay, that's right. All right. There you go jacket over the head
41:09I'm okay
41:11I'm gonna need your help you would count with me two three
41:13I will remove the jacket because it's also obligated because you all have been awesome. So on the count of three ready
41:19When I say it
