02:00This is a trick you won't want to miss.

02:03Please welcome the fast and funny, Michael Blomakey.

02:14I'd like to perform for you all my favorite magic trick.

02:17Ladies and gentlemen, the cups and balls.

02:19This is a classic of magic.

02:26It's a very old trick.

02:27So I'll perform it exactly the way that the ancient Egyptians did.

02:30Placing one ball on top of the cup.

02:36And with just a tap of the magic wand...

02:38The ball melts down solid through solid onto the tabletop.

02:47I will do it again.

02:48And please notice that my sleeves are rolled up.

02:53Ball number two goes the same way.

02:56It's just a tap of the wand.

02:59And that ball melts down to join the first.

03:01The last one, ball number three, can actually go through not just one, but two cups.

03:14This time with a tap and the wave of the wand.

03:22And that is one, two, all three balls, and that is the cups and balls.

03:32Watch as I placed one ball underneath the middle cup here.

03:35It was just a snap of the fingers.

03:39That ball vanishes.

03:41As you can see, it is completely gone.

03:45But not completely.

03:47It's not under this cup here.

03:50It flew through the air invisibly to land underneath this cup here.

03:58Now, when I first started putting this trick together, I had to figure out, you know, what else could I do?

04:05Besides make the balls jump around.

04:07I thought, you know, what if, what if I could put a ball underneath, I could get rid of a ball and make it appear back underneath the cup.

04:20I thought that would be pretty good.

04:22So if I take this ball and I place it away here into my pocket and I wait a minute, the ball jumps back to the table and it transforms into a really small grapefruit.

04:33There we go.

04:35A really small grapefruit.

04:37And now I have two cups and I have two balls.

04:41I also have these two crochet balls here.

04:46So I'm thinking...

04:50I'm thinking if I do the trick again, it'll be easier to follow.

04:53So as we've established, I can place the ball on top of the cup.

04:56Ah.

04:57Come on.

05:01Ah.

05:03Sorry.

05:04That ball is defective.

05:05So I use this ball instead.

05:08And as we've established, I can make this ball melt through the cup, back onto the table.

05:17I've shown that the ball can go under one cup.

05:20I can make it fly through the air invisibly, vanishing from one cup and reappearing, of course, back underneath this cup.

05:41I've already shown you how if I take the ball and place it away in my pocket,

05:46I can make it look like it jumps back underneath one of the cups here.

05:55I say look like because it didn't actually happen.

06:01You see, if I take the ball...

06:03I didn't actually take the ball.

06:04What happened was I simply came over and I pretended to grab the ball like that.

06:07I just pretended to grab the ball, but it's hidden behind my fingers in sort of a modified Ramsey subtlety.

06:12And then I act like I'm putting it in my pocket, but then I drop the ball behind the cup like that.

06:17Now when I lift the cup, it looks like it was underneath it the entire time.

06:21It's a very sneaky illusion.

06:23Very clever.

06:25But I'm pointing that out because I want you to notice that when I place the ball in my pocket here,

06:29my hands are totally empty.

06:31And yet if I wait a second, it jumps back to the table.

06:33Before, of course, it changed into some fruit.

06:36This time it changed into a hacky sack.

06:46Why a hacky sack?

06:48Because.

06:49That's just what I had.

06:51Hacky sack into that cup.

06:52My watch into...

06:53No, wait.

06:54I know what you're thinking.

06:55You're saying to yourselves, all right.

06:56That's pretty cool how you got the watch and the hacky...

08:03The secret to this trick is that I have a little plastic thumb.

26:26But first, we need to have a card selected.

26:28So, would you just reach in, pick out any card for me?

26:31Have a look at it.

26:32You can show me the card and you can show the rest of the audience.

26:35And I'd like you to write your name on that card.

26:38Do it on the front of the card this way.

26:40The card is the Six of Diamonds.

26:42That's important for later.

26:43So, write your name in big, bold letters so we can all see that this is your card.

26:48And this is the only Six of Diamonds in the world with your name on it.

26:52I'll take the pen.

26:53And your name is Crystal.

26:54Just to prove I can read as well as do my.

26:57Crystal, we're going to lose your card in the deck.

26:59And here's the idea.

27:00I'm going to try and create a story using the exact order of this deck of cards.

27:05And the story will end with Crystal's card, the Six of Diamonds.

27:11But there's a twist.

27:12The story can change at any moment because of that remote control.

27:16There's a button on the remote control.

27:18And at any point in the story, however many times you like, you can press that button.

27:23And it's going to instruct me to shuffle the cards.

27:26So, we'll test it.

27:27You can press the button right now.

27:28And on the screen, something will come up.

27:33This says shuffle this way.

27:36It means I have to shuffle the cards.

27:37However, I'm looking this way.

27:39You guys are looking this way.

27:40So, when you see the shuffle on the screen, please shout it out.
