00:00Illusion, the art of tricking the brain, distorting the senses, challenging perception.
00:07You can't trust what you see, even with your own eyes.
00:12Meet the Masters of Illusion.
00:30Welcome to an evening where your senses will be deceived, and your mind will be challenged.
00:54I'm Dean Cain, and this is Masters of Illusion.
00:57Now, magic has a way of drawing us in, making us question the very fabric of reality.
01:05It's an experience that captivates, surprises, and hopefully leaves us wanting more.
01:11And tonight, we've got a lineup of illusions that will leave you spelled out.
01:15Dean, Dean, Dean.
01:16Trio, ladies and gentlemen. Outstanding. We're opening the show.
01:20Yeah, Dean, it's a brand new season. I wanted to get you a special gift for hosting the show for all these years.
01:25Check this out, Dean. Look, right here.
01:27Car. A new car.
01:35Unbelievable.
01:36Believe it.
01:37Ah, he's watched my other shows. That's good.
01:39Trino, is there a real one of these back? No?
01:43Well, let's get ready to step into the extraordinary.
01:47Tonight's performer is not only an accomplished magician, but a creator and a teacher of magic.
01:57Known for his precision and passion for the art, he has captivated audiences with his technical mastery and innovative illusions.
02:05Please welcome the extraordinary Andy Gladwin.
02:09The greatest coincidence I ever heard happened in the UK in a small town.
02:20It involved a little girl called Laura Buxton. She was celebrating her 10th birthday.
02:26And to honor the occasion, she took a blue balloon and wrote her name on it, Laura Buxton.
02:31She also wrote her age, 10 years old.
02:35And then she put her parents' phone number on the balloon.
02:37And then, without giving her thought to the environment, she let the balloon go, and it floated through the air and traveled 140 miles and landed in another small town in the UK.
02:48That's not the coincidence. It gets weirder.
02:51You see, another little girl picked up that balloon.
02:55That little girl was called Laura Buxton.
02:58But it gets weirder, because that Laura Buxton was also 10 years old.
03:0410-year-old Laura Buxton had found 10-year-old Laura Buxton's balloon.
03:09This freaked out Laura Buxton's parents, so they called the other Laura Buxton's parents, and they talked.
03:14And it turned out there were some crazy similarities.
03:17Both Laura Buxtons had short blonde hair.
03:20Both of them were champion swimmers.
03:23And this one weirds me out.
03:24They both had the same two pets, a black Labrador and a brown hamster.
03:29And it made me think, coincidences like this probably happen all the time.
03:33We just don't have enough information to recognize them.
03:36So, I thought we could create our own coincidence right here.
03:40So, we need a name.
03:41We're not going to use Laura, because we've already used that.
03:44So, we need another name.
03:45Would you mind just choosing any name you like?
03:49Jamie.
03:49Jamie.
03:50Fantastic.
03:51And we need an age.
03:52Laura Buxton was 10, but Jamie can be any age.
03:54How old should Jamie be?
03:5630.
03:5630.
03:57Jamie is 30 years old, and we need somewhere for Jamie to be from.
04:02Laura was from the UK, but where should 30-year-old Jamie be from?
04:06China.
04:06China.
04:07Perfect Chinese name.
04:10So, we have Jamie, 30 years old, from China.
04:15That is an amazing coincidence.
04:18I mean, it is.
04:20We just don't have enough information to recognize it yet.
04:23At least you guys don't.
04:24But I do.
04:26Because over here is a little red gift bag that has been on stage the whole time.
04:31And I've been nowhere near it.
04:33But I want to show you what is inside.
04:39A blue helium balloon, just like Laura Buxton.
04:43But there's a label on the balloon.
04:45And it says something interesting.
04:47You said any name in the world.
04:49The name you said was Jamie.
04:50Would you tell me what is written on that label?
04:55Jamie.
04:55Jamie.
04:56And Jamie was 30 years old.
04:58And you could have said any age, but you went for 30.
05:00Could you tell me what age is written on that label?
05:03It's 30.
05:03It says 30.
05:05And you could have named any country, but you named China.
05:08What does it say on the label?
05:11Oh, yeah, that's true.
05:14That is an amazing coincidence.
05:16Next, an explosive phone call you don't want to miss.
05:26We're actually going to be able to capture the cell phone call inside of that plexiglass chamber.
05:31My win has a steamy act that will leave you speechless.
05:35Mind to mind, mentalist magic at its finest.
05:37Anything you have with you, Marina will try to describe what those items are.
05:42A poetic performance that will make your heart flutter.
05:44Giddy up.
05:46Murray saw Chuck's wrangling will rope you in.
05:48Great trick once I get good.
05:50Jeffy Yu brings fast hands and quick wits in this mind-scrambling manipulator.
05:55It's not here, right?
05:57It's right here.
05:58Strap yourself in.
05:59Assistance revenge on Greg Frua.
06:01Stay tuned.
06:14Prepare to be entertained by a magician who brings energy, charm, and cutting-edge illusions to the stage.
06:26His fast-paced style and ability to connect with audiences makes him one of the most exciting performers in magic today.
06:33Let's give a warm welcome to Joel Myers.
06:36What is up, you guys?
06:44So, Arthur C. Clarke once said that any advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
06:51That means 100 years ago, our cell phones would have gotten us burned at the stake.
06:54Tonight, we're going to try and do something with our cell phone that you've never seen before and you'll never see again.
07:00In order for this to work, I need to borrow two people.
07:02They need to know each other, meaning you have to have each other's cell phone numbers.
07:05So, if that's you, raise your hands.
07:07We need a couple of people.
07:09We got these two ladies here.
07:10You guys would be great.
07:10What's your names?
07:11Lauren.
07:12And?
07:12Jillian.
07:13Lauren and Jillian.
07:14Everybody give Lauren and Jillian a big hand as they come on stage.
07:16Come join us on stage, guys.
07:17Come on.
07:18Lauren, bring your cell phones.
07:19Perfect.
07:20Come on up.
07:20How are you?
07:21Good, Lauren.
07:22Lauren, you're going to come right over here.
07:24Right over here.
07:24Jillian.
07:25Nice to meet you, Jillian.
07:26Come right over this way, if you don't mind.
07:28Lovely.
07:28Look at that spin.
07:29That was beautiful.
07:30All right, Lauren and Jillian, here's the deal.
07:32Over here, I've got a little plexiglass chamber, okay?
07:34This plexiglass chamber was specially designed to where we're actually going to be able to capture
07:39the cell phone call inside of that plexiglass chamber.
07:42I'll explain a little bit more in a second, but here's the deal.
07:44Lauren, you are going to be calling Jillian in just a second.
07:47So, Jillian, you're going to hold your cell phone in your left hand the entire time.
07:50And then, Lauren, you're going to be calling her.
07:52So, get ready to call her.
07:53Once I tell you to call her, you're going to hold the phone out like that so the audience
07:56and the camera can see it, that you're making the phone call.
07:59Whenever you make the phone call, you're going to do it right here so it's going through
08:01the plexiglass chamber to her cell phone.
08:03Make sense?
08:04Something else that's really important is I've got a glass pitcher inside the plexiglass chamber.
08:09The reason why the glass pitcher is here is because that cylindrical object makes
08:12it to where Jillian over here is going to be able to actually, it goes different
08:16every time.
08:16She might actually feel the effects of the phone call.
08:19It might make the pitcher vibrate a little bit.
08:21She might see light ricocheting through the pitcher.
08:24We might all see the light ricocheting through the pitcher.
08:27Here's the deal.
08:28Jillian, you're going to hold onto this in your right hand just like I'm doing.
08:31Perfect.
08:31Hold it nice and tight in your right hand, nice and tight all the way.
08:34Perfect.
08:34So, Jillian, you're going to lower that into this little slot right here.
08:37Okay.
08:38Go ahead and lower it down.
08:39Nicely done, Jillian.
08:40Great job.
08:41You're going to rest your hand right there.
08:42Keep it kind of level, though.
08:44The pitcher kind of level.
08:45Perfect, Jillian.
08:45Nicely done.
08:46Hold your cell phone right there.
08:47Turn it around so everybody can see.
08:49Nobody's going to notice your cracked screen.
08:50Don't worry.
08:52All right.
08:53Here's the deal.
08:53Lauren, in just a second, you're going to start calling Jillian.
08:56Remember, whenever you do that, face the phone out, but hold it kind of like right here
08:59so that she can see and everybody can see that the phone call is going through.
09:03Remember, sometimes you can see light.
09:05Sometimes you're going to feel the vibrations.
09:07If that happens, just kind of nod.
09:08So we're aware that you're feeling the vibrations.
09:10Don't fake anything.
09:11Tell us if you're really feeling something.
09:12Tell us if you're really seeing something, just kind of nod so that we're aware.
09:15Okay?
09:15Jillian and Lauren, you ready?
09:17Here we go.
09:17Ready?
09:18Lauren, call Jillian's phone.
09:20Do it now.
09:20Call the phone.
09:21Call her phone right now.
09:22Is the call going through?
09:23Is it going through?
09:24It's going through.
09:25Okay.
09:25Keep calling.
09:25Keep calling.
09:26Keep calling.
09:27All right.
09:27Keep calling.
09:30Okay.
09:31Anything?
09:32Jillian, anything?
09:33No.
09:34Nothing.
09:34Okay.
09:35It's okay.
09:35Hang up.
09:36Try it again.
09:36We're going to try it again.
09:36It's okay.
09:37It's okay.
09:37Doesn't always work the first time.
09:38We're going to try it again.
09:39It's all good.
09:40We got this.
09:40Try one more time.
09:41Lauren, we're going to try one more time.
09:43Ready?
09:44Call.
09:44Turn the phone around so we can see the phone call going through.
09:47All right.
09:48Keep calling.
09:49Keep calling.
09:50Keep calling.
09:50Keep calling.
09:51Okay.
09:51I can see.
09:52Wait a second.
09:52I can see it.
09:53I can see it.
09:53There's some light happening.
09:54I can see it.
09:55I can see it.
09:55I can see it.
10:00I'm going to give these rock guys a big hand.
10:02Come on, Lauren, please.
10:05Drop it, Lauren.
10:06Drop it on.
10:06Keep it going for Lauren and Jillian, you guys.
10:10Come on.
10:11Thank you, John.
10:12Have a seat.
10:13Come on.
10:22She travels around the globe, amazing audiences along the way, and tonight, she's here with
10:28us.
10:29Please welcome the incredible Mae Wynn.
11:06We're out of track.
11:32Next, mind-to-mind, mentalist magic at its finest.
11:47What you have with you, Marina will try to describe what those items are.
11:51A poetic performance that will make your heart flutter.
11:54Idiot, Murray Sawchuck's wrangling will rope you in.
11:57It's a great trick once I get to it.
12:00Jackie Yu brings fast hands and quick wits in this mind-scrambling manipulation.
12:04It's not here, right? It's placed right here.
12:07Strap yourself in. Assistance Revenge on Greg Frua. Stay tuned.
12:11Tonight's performers are more than just magicians.
12:30They are mind-readers, illusionists, and masters of the impossible.
12:36Please welcome the awe-inspiring Mind-to-Mind.
12:43Good evening.
12:45Good evening.
12:50The one thing that connects us all is the ability to communicate.
12:57Animals can communicate in ways that we find almost supernatural.
13:03Humans have become masters of verbal communication.
13:13But even when we encounter an unknown language, all we hear is noise.
13:19So perhaps it's not surprising to learn that 93% of human communication is non-verbal.
13:33If it's not what we say, what could this 93% be?
13:38Please raise your hand now if you consider yourself to be a sceptic.
13:45Where are the sceptics?
13:48Quite a few of you. Goodness me.
13:50Your hand went up very quickly.
13:52Could you stand up for me for a second, please?
13:55Ladies and gentlemen, please observe a sceptic in his natural habitat.
14:02About to watch some mind-reading.
14:03Give him a huge round of applause as he joins us on stage.
14:05Come on up.
14:05Hey, everyone, how you doing?
14:10What's your name?
14:10Justin.
14:11Lovely to meet you, Justin.
14:12This is Marina.
14:13Nice to meet you, Justin.
14:15Who did you come here with tonight, Justin?
14:17Tatiana.
14:18Hello.
14:19Is Justin always sceptical?
14:21Yeah?
14:22Sounds like a nightmare.
14:23But you're going to be perfect for this.
14:26Justin, can you just make sure that Marina isn't wearing any secret listening devices?
14:32Nothing's hidden.
14:33Just have a check.
14:34Once you're done, you can stand behind Marina.
14:42We all good?
14:43Can you cover Marina's eyes with your hands like this?
14:45In such a way that you can feel that her eyelids are closed under your fingertips.
14:50Please keep your hands there until I tell you to remove them, Justin.
14:56That's very important.
14:58In the past, when we've performed what we're about to show you, we've been accused of using
15:03secret electronics to communicate with each other.
15:06We offer a $100,000 reward to anyone that can prove we do, and we say that simply because
15:13we don't.
15:16But Justin, you're our sceptic.
15:18Keep your hands there, okay?
15:20You're keeping us honest.
15:21It's time for everyone here to get involved.
15:23Please start pulling random items from your pockets, purses, handbags, literally anything
15:29you have with you, Marina will try to describe what those items are.
15:34Will you go for this?
15:46James, I like this first item.
15:49I feel like there's something on my lips.
15:53Could it be a lip balm?
15:55That's a lip balm.
15:56Nice easy start.
15:57Thank you so much for your help.
15:58Can you start us with this, Liz?
15:59The next item, I believe, could be glasses.
16:04Wait, there are sunglasses to be specific.
16:08Please tell me the color.
16:10They're nice and brown color.
16:11Outstanding.
16:12Please tell me the brand.
16:13Hmm, is it Tom Ford?
16:15Are these Tom Ford sunglasses?
16:23Nice.
16:24See what this is?
16:25Now, I can definitely see a reflection.
16:28That is a mirror you're looking at.
16:30That's right.
16:31Will you tell me what this is?
16:32Okay.
16:34Wait.
16:35Is that a comb?
16:37Well done.
16:38The color?
16:38It's a pink comb.
16:40That's great.
16:41Very good.
16:41Be specific about this.
16:43I think I can almost see...
16:45Wait.
16:45Is that a specific character you're looking at?
16:48Well done.
16:49It's kind of...
16:50It's nice and kind of pinkish.
16:53Could it be...
16:54Wait.
16:55Could it be Hello Kitty?
16:57Hello Kitty.
16:57Absolutely.
16:58Thank you for the help.
17:00So cute.
17:01Okay.
17:03See what this is?
17:04Now there is something quite beautiful you're looking at.
17:08Go on.
17:09I feel like it could be maybe a piece of jewelry, maybe a bracelet.
17:13Yes.
17:13And I think it's made of...
17:15Wait.
17:16Are those cute little bees?
17:17Cool.
17:18The color?
17:18I definitely can see purple.
17:21Thank you for your help.
17:25Some very interesting items here.
17:29Okay.
17:30See what this is.
17:31James, before I...
17:34Wait.
17:34You're distracted.
17:35I feel like you're looking at someone...
17:38I can see...
17:40I can see black and I can see white.
17:42It's a black and white dress and really beautiful hair.
17:47Yes.
17:48It's a beautiful lady with...
17:49Wait.
17:50Are those tattoos?
17:51You're looking at something like a cherry and...
17:55Is that Alice in Wonderland?
17:57It is.
17:58I was looking at the tattoos.
18:00James, now please look back at the object so I can...
18:03Okay.
18:04I believe you're looking at another piece of jewelry.
18:09Yes.
18:10This time...
18:11I have a feeling that it could be a necklace.
18:15Go on.
18:16I think it's not just a necklace.
18:18It could be actually a locket.
18:20Good.
18:20It's about the locket.
18:21I can see a heart-shaped, James.
18:23Correct.
18:23Anything else?
18:24Yes.
18:25It's made of beautiful white metal, almost like white gold.
18:28Beautiful.
18:29Thank you so much for your help.
18:35Please tell me what this is now.
18:37The next item.
18:38You know, I'm trying to focus on one thing.
18:41It has the shape of a phone, but I'm focusing on a phone case.
18:46Well done.
18:47Okay.
18:48Be specific.
18:49Wait.
18:49If I try to describe it, I can almost see an animal.
18:54Go on.
18:54And I think it could be maybe a bear.
18:58That is a bear phone case.
19:01Now, guys, if you all stay silent just for a second, I can almost hear the music coming out of those headphones you're focusing on.
19:23They are wireless.
19:27Correct.
19:28And wait.
19:29Are there beats by Dre?
19:31Dr. Dre?
19:32Dre right there.
19:32Thank you so much.
19:35Very nice.
19:35Okay.
19:40See what they do.
19:41More jewelry, I believe, James.
19:43Yes.
19:43This time, yes, that's another necklace.
19:47And I think, wow, it's so beautiful.
19:50I feel like it's made of beautiful pearls.
19:54Exactly that whole necklace.
19:56Oh, very good.
20:06See what this is?
20:07Oh, lots of information, James.
20:09Lots of personal information.
20:12I think it could be somebody's license.
20:16Maybe a driving's license.
20:18Wonderful.
20:19Cool.
20:19Tell me something about this person.
20:21I think I can tell you something quite specific about this person.
20:26And you may not even know it yourself.
20:30I think I can tell you a day of the week, the specific day of the week that you were born on.
20:39Right.
20:40I definitely have a feeling that you were born on a Sunday.
20:46Do you know?
20:48It was a Sunday?
20:50Sunday.
20:53Well done.
20:55Yeah.
20:56Thank you so much, guys.
20:58Now, if I go straight to the specific date.
21:04Wait, is it December?
21:06Is it December 17th?
21:09Wait, and the year is 1989?
21:11Is that exactly right?
21:13Come on, guys.
21:14Yeah.
21:14Yeah.
21:15Can you tell me what this is?
21:24Okay, James.
21:26This is definitely a phone.
21:28If I'm not mistaken, it could be an iPhone.
21:31Tell me something about the iPhone.
21:31Why, right?
21:32Correct.
21:32Tell me something about the iPhone.
21:34Let's try something with this phone.
21:36Hold it face down on your palm.
21:37And now, please gently touch the back.
21:41And as you do that, I will try to sense the remaining battery percentage on this phone.
21:47And I have a feeling that this phone is charged to either 83, no, 84% battery at this moment.
21:57We're going to say 84%, can you check?
22:00What is it?
22:01Is it exactly 84%?
22:01No, 84%.
22:09Thank you so much, Justin.
22:10Thank you for your help.
22:12How's my makeup?
22:13Is it still good?
22:14Yeah.
22:16Thank you so much.
22:18Thank you for keeping us honest.
