00:00we have a backstage update on wwe using a i plus another wwe star is teasing a retirement
00:08and a new japan wwe crossover match has once more been teased it's all in the cultaholic
00:14wrestling news right now so over the weekend we talked about wwe using a i in their storytelling
00:22it comes uh at the start as a result of the signing of a brand new senior director of creative
00:26strategy and there was some concern that this would be a way of wwe using artificial intelligence to
00:34do all the creative going forward instead of the human being the human brain it's a terrifying
00:40world that we live in fight for selective expanded on wrestling observers original report of wwe
00:45utilizing ai yeah fight for us saying they have actually been using ai tools at the disposal of
00:50the creative team for years however it's mostly been used as a glorified creative assistant to
00:54look up things like the last time two wrestlers had a match like a search engine and that's not a bad
00:59way to use the old chat gpt is cage match mate one source familiar with the process said it would be
01:05more of a not start with a blank page approach rather than write the show for us so it'd be case
01:09of having like some using ai to create some bare bones of a show and then humans build upon it
01:15you surely don't even need that i understand google using it like a search engine when was the last
01:21time you wrestled whatever i understand that because it does give you more detailed like a
01:25more instant detailed result than google does for example and also it's not the google thing isn't
01:30always massively accurate as well which is always a bit of a concern for me it's a concern for me
01:34that they need an ai driven structure for a show surely the storylines you've done the previous week
01:39is the structure you need i mean we've always said it writes itself it does right but not literally
01:43when five or so late asked around nobody said they knew any creative members of the team that
01:48were using the ai were using ai uh the one that they had at their disposal anyway for more than a
01:53couple of minutes at a time as ross was saying look up matches that sort of thing wwe's new senior
01:57director of creative strategy is cyrus kalsari and according to sources that spoke to fight form
02:02they're under the impression that he's going to be using ai alongside existing production methods as
02:07a way of sorting files removing background noise from shots as opposed to more extensive ai driven
02:14storytelling which is which is a relief uh five will also say that their sources tell them that ai is
02:20not replacing the creative team yes one source one source told sean ross sap directly michael hayes
02:28paul hayman and ed koski are not ai i don't know i mean i watched unreal and some of the reactions
02:35from ed koski made me think that he might be artificially intelligent uh one employee in production
02:40told us that was unnecessarily cruel to ed i love you ed uh one employee in production told us that
02:45they they work insane non-stop hours and that they're actually excited to get ai aiding in some
02:51of the things they do the one thing i thought of there as well is you know that you know that bit
02:55in unreal where becky lynch gives michael hayes a hug and his hat falls off yeah use ai put the hat
03:00back on keep it safe uh thoughts on on ai gently encroaching into everything i mean even gently
03:10anymore in terms of just like looking up facts and making sure you've you've ticked all the boxes in
03:14terms of what a storyline should be providing and things you shouldn't be forgetting i think it makes
03:18sense to use ai because it does as i say earlier on it gives you a more instant detailed result than
03:23google does where you have to do a little bit more searching on top of the initial search that
03:26makes sense to me anything else no just no you don't need it just use your brains that's what
03:32you're there and paid for to do it's your job there is that as well uh yeah the march of ai is
03:38is something that i feel a weird anxiety about whilst i i don't like the idea of it taking away jobs from
03:44any creative industry in any way absolutely not i did find myself laughing at the ai video of keith
03:50chegwin debuting on raw i'm sorry it was just really funny i've had so many stephen hawkins on
03:56mine where he's wrestling in the ring against the queen i saw over the weekend why not i don't like
04:02it i don't like it but i would have thought that because i think it was adam and sam wasn't it like
04:07a couple of years ago like used ai to see what a wrestling show could be could be book like and
04:12now we find ourselves in 2025 and it might actually i know they're saying they're not here but i think
04:16it's eventually going to snowball yeah as it will with most creative industries which is quite sad
04:20hold on to your hats and your trousers everybody before they become ai trousers uh one person that
04:26is uh saying goodbye to wrestling potentially very soon is shinsuke nakamura he's uh just finished a
04:32couple of dates with wwe in japan and he put something on twitter that suggested that the
04:36time is nearly up for shinsuke he says what a special place japan is especially for those of us
04:41who wrestle as aj said it's a place worthy of giving everything you've got of course that's true
04:46anywhere in the world but there's something sacred here i don't know if it's because i'm japanese but
04:50i believe the rest of some fans who shared this space all felt the same maybe he did too john cena
04:56aj they've all chosen to step away from the ring it reminds me that my own time might not be too far
05:01off uh but things uh but i still have things i must do i'm still struggling still fighting not knowing
05:06what tomorrow will bring so noddy no sorry no one understood that that's a song from noddy back in the
05:1490s anyway i understood it right all i can do is lift it with everything i have thank you if only
05:21one more time i've really bastardized shinsuke nakamura's heartfelt statement there and i do
05:25apologize you don't need big ears to hear what shinsuke's saying there he might be wrapping up
05:31soon uh he debuted in 2002 for new japan uh joined nxt in 2016 and he's been part of wwe since then he's
05:38won the nxt title twice the u.s title three times two-time ic champ former smackdown tag champ
05:432018 royal rumble winner as well he's done it all the things but i wish we had a world title in
05:49there that's the thing you think back to 2018 where his fixation was not on necessarily the w
05:53championship was on aj styles his testicles and maybe if they pivot towards the title rather than
05:58those juicy set of clackers what might have been because it felt like ever since then he did sort
06:03of fall off and maybe he was maybe he was falling off during that angle as well yeah why was he so
06:08fixated on the balls it was a weird choice i remember when he won the rumble and the excitement
06:14because it was it was down it was him and cena at the end it was the old school the new school yeah
06:18and i was like that's so cool and then it was aj and shin at wrestlemania and i went oh that was
06:23just okay i thought they'd like proper new japan it and go well it makes you wonder if triple h was
06:29in the position he's in now back then because he understood what the aura of shinsuke what the kids
06:34would say the aura kids love aura plus a thousand aura points for shinsuke nakamura he understood that
06:39has been proven in his nxt run vince mcmahon obviously didn't see shinsuke nakamura in the same
06:44way quite uh so it makes you wonder if triple h was in power what might have been back then yeah
06:48possibly but look nakamura said that his time is coming to an end but it's certainly not done there's
06:54one particular person on the new japan roster that he wants to say come on to and that is the
07:01retiring hiroshi tanahashi this is good in here it might happen it won't it will happen it won't
07:09uh he it was in tokyo over the past week where he gave a little couple of cheeky references to
07:17tanahashi in in the match after the match yeah he says i love you tanahashi after the match before
07:22signing off with yo signing off
07:25it's called out mario uh it's uh yeah he's he gave a couple he dropped a couple of tanahashi's
07:33catchphrases in there at the very end as well and uh um tanahashi responded on social media writing
07:38hmm i think i heard something it was the microwave finishing ding
07:42uh this is a lovely idea shinsuke nakamura hiroshi tanahashi tanahashi's retirement match we heard
07:52uh last week that people within new japan will love that to be a thing but obviously there is a
07:57big old wrestling political roadblock in the way is that because aew work with new japan pro wrestling
08:03thomas i think it might be my friend ross weddell uh yeah that's that's the big issue that we've got
08:07to overcome here now um with tony khan having a relationship with aew and new japan uh consequently
08:14no wwe talent have competed for new japan in many years unless i'm wrong i know carl anderson
08:18was the never openweight champion when he rejoined wwe so they kind of retconned that
08:22um but otherwise there really hasn't been and it would take a real political mountain to shift in
08:29order for that to happen but if there's one guy who can do it it's hiroshi tanahashi it certainly is
08:34he could be the one that unites the wrestling world i don't know maybe for one match for one moment i
08:41could even say one night there maybe for one match i feel like i use this uh this description a lot
08:46this could be the the the football match on no man's land on christmas day during the war
08:52where the both sides just said let's just have a kickabout for a bit this could be the kickabout
08:58it could be nakamura tanahashi and they go maybe we should be friends after all those are two
09:04similarly sized things you've compared they are similar size completely similar size but it could
09:11be what's what what kind of melts the ice and maybe just maybe at the end of that match as
09:17tanahashi retires paul yvette comes out to raise the arm of shinsuke nakamura tony khan raises the arm
09:22of tanahashi and then they both kiss what's that i'm hearing about you so if that happens sam driver
09:27will eat his hat i'm just breaking news on the video right now sam will eat his hat if nakamura
09:32versus tanahashi happens before tanahashi retires he definitely said that uh speaking of
09:37uh one of moments of wtf any this week to crown jewel today a little bit for delay last week and
09:46then a delay then no yeah a w wrestle dream will be tomorrow lovely week for wtfs on the patreon and
