00:00So I have officially been asked what programs I use to animate, like, at least 10 times, I think.
00:06I mean, both in comments and by friends and family.
00:09Now, I'm not annoyed by it. I'm not saying, like,
00:11UGH! HOW DARE YOU ASK ME QUESTIONS! NYEH!
00:14But having to explain it all those times has kind of got me thinking.
00:18I use a lot of, like, free or relatively cheap stuff to make these videos.
00:24Meanwhile, you always hear people complain about how, like, Toon Boom costs $1,000 and...
00:29Adobe's, like, stupid monthly subscription, and they charge you $200 if you want to cancel it. That's neat.
00:36So I'm going to show you how to get started with just art and animation on a budget.
00:41I'll also go over my process for making animations, but got an important disclaimer for that.
00:47This is not a tutorial on how to draw or animate.
00:51It's just, like, showing you programs and stuff you can get that's cheap to get you started,
00:56and just how I personally do my stuff.
00:58My art and animation looks like this.
01:01So if you want to learn how to do any of that on a professional level, you are in the wrong place.
01:07There's a million tutorials out there that teach you this stuff better than I could.
01:10Like, actual published books.
01:12Like, really think, would you rather learn how to animate from the guy who did this or this?
01:17That also goes for any program I show you in the video.
01:21This is not a tutorial on how to use those.
01:24You can find there's a million places to go to that explain it better than I ever could.
01:30And my credentials for this, if you could call it that, is that these are my most viewed videos right now.
01:38If any of these are familiar to you, I went to community college for two years majoring in digital art,
01:45and by some miracle, I passed and got a little associate's degree for that.
01:50Like, all these class projects you see here got A's.
01:53And finally, I mean, I've gotten far enough to make money off of what I do.
01:57Yeah, look at that.
01:58Look at that $100 a month.
01:59You are so jealous.
02:01Don't worry.
02:01I supplement the rest of my income by getting really, really lucky with scratch tickets.
02:06I'm fine.
02:07All right, let's see how I do this.
02:09All right, so just let's get the stuff that did cost me money out of the way.
02:13That is my...
02:15Hey, get off.
02:16Get off.
02:17Get off.
02:18Get off.
02:19Get off.
02:23Fine, fine.
02:24Stay there.
02:25Whatever.
02:26Whatever.
02:28All right.
02:29He's sitting on my fucking laptop.
02:31There's my frog sticker.
02:34That was...
02:35Forget how much that was.
02:36I'll...
02:38Shut up.
02:40I will put however much that costs on screen.
02:43That tablet, that is a Artist 12 Pro.
02:47Depending on where you get it, that'll cost you like $170 to $220-ish.
02:51Please be kinder to yours than I would.
02:54You can see all the scratches there from going too rough.
02:57That electrical tape around the thing there is because I need that to keep the little outer
03:04casing of the part that connects to the computer on.
03:08At one point, that just slipped off and got stuck in there.
03:10I needed pliers to get it out of the little port there.
03:12And now, occasionally, need to like jostle that around to keep it connecting to the computer.
03:18And that's just my life until I get sick of it and order a new one.
03:24Anytime there's been voice acting in one of my videos, ever since this stupid Brian Griffin
03:30one I made, which I actually made to test out this mic.
03:34Everything since then has used this.
03:36This is in HyperX SoloCast.
03:38It's going to be around like $40.
03:40The suppressor here is a separate thing, or pop filter is what that's called.
03:45But that's going to be like probably like $15, I think.
03:48I don't know what hour much it is on screen.
03:51While we're here, this table we're on is like a sort of artist drafting table or easel thing
03:59that can like, it can flip up.
04:00Like when you see the pictures of like animators working, it can turn into one of those.
04:05But what I used it for was this stop motion video I did.
04:09It was, this was the sort of stage that I had those on.
04:12We'll actually, actually pull some out.
04:14Just left all the stuff I use in here.
04:16Here's a clear figure.
04:20That clay is, you can get it at Dollar General for literally $2.
04:24If you want to do stop motion.
04:27This is the 4K camera I have.
04:30This was like in the $100 range.
04:34This tripod was won by, my dad won it in an auction.
04:39But you can get one of these for like $15, $30.
04:43It's not that bad.
04:43I also have Vegas Movie Studio 17, which is supposedly a neutered down version of Sony
04:49Vegas that's like missing some of the effects stuff, but it has the bare minimum of what
04:54I need.
04:55It's usually around $200, but they're always doing holiday sales where it goes on to like
05:00$80.
05:00So you can try and catch those.
05:02Some, like sometimes Movie Studio refuses to open on my computer.
05:06So if that happens, I'll use this other one that just comes with Windows called ClipChamp.
05:11So if all you need to do is like combine your scenes together, then this is serviceable.
05:16And there's also like free editing programs.
05:18So you can find like DaVinci Resolve, I think for computers, then a bunch on mobile.
05:23So I'll have them just like, and I can just lay in my bed while it work on just make stuff
05:28on my phone.
05:30CapCut is the most popular example of this.
05:33I use that for any like shitpost stuff I made for a while, but it's the same company as TikTok.
05:40So it comes with the same like shadiness that they have.
05:43If you want to avoid that, all the title and ending cards in my recent videos were made
05:49in an app called VN.
05:51That's free.
05:52There's a free version of it.
05:54And this whole first section of the video that was just me talking was compiled together
05:59in another free app called InShot.
06:03You can get a free version of these, and if you can put up with just ads being ran on it,
06:07then these are both pretty reliable.
06:09So basically, you can get like the tablet and microphone combo is $200.
06:16That's assuming you have, you already have like a computer, but if you don't, just add
06:22like that $400, so $600.
06:25And the rest of the stuff I mentioned is kind of extra, like you don't need it or you can
06:29find an alternative, but even if you put all that in there, that's under $1,000.
06:34Everything I listed, if you just buy all that, it's cheaper than one Cintiq or Toon Boom.
06:41Just work any minimum wage job for a month, and you could afford all this if you're like
06:46reckless with your money.
06:48Plus, I didn't even have to buy most of the stuff, just the camera.
06:52The rest of it is I asked for it for either Christmas or my birthday, so mommy and daddy
06:56bought it for me.
06:58Also, also, that's, this is just, if you want to get the exact like combos of stuff I have,
07:05there's other methods of getting material or whatever.
07:08So, I have a friend who does commissions, and every picture I'm showing on screen right
07:13now is something he drew on his fucking iPad.
07:17So, if you have one of those laying around, or you have $300, just buy a little stylus
07:23thing, you can get Flip-A-Clip for free and go to town.
07:27Or, you still have your DS from when you were a kid, you make something in Flipnote, get
07:31one of these little SD card adapters, get it on your computer, go to this site here to convert
07:37it into a format that people actually fucking use, and there you go, you can make a living
07:42just making little cartoons with Flipnote, there's people who've done it.
07:46So, basically, yeah, just any method you can think of that works for you, there's,
07:51either way, there's a bunch of, like, cost-effective options to get into animation.
07:56Everything else I use is completely free.
07:59Audacity for recording stuff, which seems to be what most people use, that's free.
08:04I use a mixture of Krita and OpenTunes for drawing and animating, those are also free.
08:10Little fun fact, OpenTunes was originally developed to help with Studio Ghibli movies,
08:15like, they commissioned software.
08:17So, the same program that helped make Spirited Away was used to make a video of Swingebob
08:23drinking cum.
08:23Just want to point that out, it's funny.
08:26There's other cheap options, again, like, I mentioned Flip-A-Clip, but Blender exists
08:32too, and that's free, even though it's pretty hard to learn, there's tutorials.
08:37If you just want to do art, like, there's some non-animation programs, like, Fire Alpaca,
08:43I think, is free.
08:44I always hear people cream their pants over Procreate, that's just a one-time purchase
08:48of, like, $12.
08:50There's others, you can look up and see what works better for you, but this has gone on
08:55long enough.
08:56Let's see how I make this crap.
08:57All right, first things first, we need our audio, whether it's recording something or
09:02ripping it, this is OniPlay's audio I ripped, and you can either just get, like, a YouTube
09:08MP3 converter, or you can just record it with desktop audio in Audacity, make sure you have
09:14these two settings if you want to do that, and let's see what we got.
09:19So that is one little line of dialogue we're going to, thinking the actual thing I cut
09:29out, Dave's little part there, but we highlight all this, then we, I'm going to export, make
09:37sure you do export selected audio, because if you just do any of the others, it'll, it'll
09:43still save all the recording, even though you just highlighted it, let's name it, something.
09:49I like to do, whatever name, a one, to, just, so it's easy to keep track of, and it comes
09:57up in the order I need it.
09:59So we have that, we will delete this so it's out of the way, and then you just repeat that
10:06until you've got each little part of the audio that you would want to lip sync, like, split
10:11into its own thing.
10:11Alright, so this is, we have OpenTunes pulled up, I just took a project file I already did,
10:16but, like, just imagine this is blank when you get in, so the first thing you would do
10:22is, all your audio pieces you recorded, you would, you would, you can just drag and drop
10:28them in here, like, just get out of your file folder, drag and drop them in here, and I kind
10:34of just have this as, I have this as its own column for all of the audio, we'll see, oh,
10:40the, this little chip in that border there is, that indicates that this is where one recording
10:46stops, and this is, this is where the new one starts.
10:49You can see it's the teenager in 2006 video, I figured, of all of these, that's the one
10:55people would want to see the making of the most, but we'll, so this is Krita, open in here,
11:01I draw every asset in, in this, and any little frame by frame animations also done in here,
11:09so we can see, this is that same drawing of the clouds, it's a still image, we go in here, go back,
11:17back, this, this red rectangle here is like your camera, so we can see this, see how it pans
11:26through, like that, there he is, you might notice, he is not present in this, because he is just
11:36his own drawing, that I did separately, and just laid it over the top, so I can, kind of have more
11:43control of dragging him around, except, I didn't actually tween him here, you can see all the, he
11:50is manually dragged up frame by frame, that's something I like to do, it's the, it's the same
11:55idea as tweening, where you don't have to draw a different thing each time, but, I think it, it's
12:01easier to give it, like, life and energy, like that, it's not, like, robotic, so, my little strat is, so,
12:10this is him, like, he's starting to come into frame, he goes significantly further up, more
12:17significantly further up, but, this last frame here is, he, he just, kind of, slightly goes up more,
12:25that gives him the effect of, like, kind of, easing, easing in there, at the, the end, like that,
12:31and then, this is, this goes fast enough, I just, didn't bother, also, so, you got your key frames,
12:39you just, you can, right click, and, just, set key, for when you want to do that, or, if you just,
12:48like, you're going to just jostle this, see that, it made a new key frame there, have removing parts,
12:53also, the, the title was thrown in and editing, that's not here, let's go, oh, yeah, forgot he is
13:02transparent, didn't bother bucket tooling him in, so, you got this, you can toggle that on and off,
13:10if you want to save stuff as PNGs, you can just do it here, make sure other programs do something
13:14similar, but, thankfully, that does not matter too much, because, here, see the OpenTunes background
13:22here is white, so, when we put the transparent thing over top of it, it just shows it as white
13:27anyway, that's fine, and, also, so, you notice, like, the drawings are 4x3, but, this is full 16x9,
13:36because, in OpenTunes, if you want to, have something be, 4x3 aspect ratio, it also, forces
13:44the resolution to be, like, accordingly low, so, I would have to have this only in 480,
13:50I wanted people to have the option to watch it in HD, while still being cut down for, like,
13:56authenticity, because of what it is, so, rendered it like this, and, just cropped it in editing,
14:04so, this, let's see, let's close it down here, there's more of this, let's pull that up in
14:11Krita, nope, so, this is how that looks here, you can see it's our, sort of, fake 3D perspective
14:20of, what not, kind of, going down this road, see there's no background there, so, I could,
14:28so, I could put, just a separate cloud backdrop in, see, goes all the way, like, that, and,
14:37then, you can, add, like, 2 frames a second, oh boy, we can, so, we can have to, like, pan
14:45down, like, that, add more to this, like, sort of, 3D effect I was trying to go for, again, he's a
14:52separate drawing, here, the wheels, little, line marks on the wheels move, differently, frame by frame,
15:04and, so, we come back out, and, it's the same thing, just mirrored for him coming down the
15:17road, he's a similar deal, where, whoop, that's further back, this is this, and then, we have
15:28just, him as, like, that, little, because he's a separate little thing, I just did those two
15:36drawings, save them as PNGs, and you can flip them back and forth, like, they're, this is
15:43him, so, yeah, just, so, these are in their own, little column there, all right, so, around
15:50this, let's go to that in here, here, that is, here, there is, three frames of it, for
15:59the, zip line, kind of, vibrating like that, you'll notice, he does not have his mouth, he's
16:06missing that, so, let's, but it is in here, let's look at it, is it, is it this, I guess
16:15so, at the very right here, we can just see the frames, like, just as they are, so, that's,
16:23that's one mouth of it, this is supposed to be, like, for E sounds, for O sounds, and so
16:29on, so, cool thing, that I like about OpenTunes is, so, you draw your ten mouth shapes there,
16:37you can come here, click this, go like that, you can do, just have the program do the lip sync
16:44for you, this is, you need a plug-in called Rhubarb, which you can just get for free off
16:49of GitHub, and then, so, you pick which file you do, this is why I save each, like, each
16:58line of dialogue as its own thing, so, I can do this, and you can type something in here
17:05to, sort of, help the program discern what's being said, and lip sync accordingly, you would
17:10click apply, and then it, like, puts in the right order, except, it's not perfect, sometimes
17:17it screws up, like, so, this little gap, or it's, also, did point that out, so this is,
17:24so, like, this, sort of, you have the one, kind of, goes down, that discerns which frame
17:30it is, and how many frames it's on screen, you click this little thing at the bottom to
17:34drag it out, for duration, whatever, and so, this means that it holds on the closed mouth
17:44for that long, this many frames, but, it's fine here, because this is just where you actually,
17:49like, stop talking, but, sometimes you'll get bits where, stuff that's supposed to be saying
17:57multiple words, just have a block like this, because it didn't bother lip syncing that part,
18:01you have to fix it yourself, actually, I think this might be, like, I just, like, I just did
18:09this by myself, because it didn't get as, then, it did really bad, like, figuring out what he's
18:15saying, because, like, the music in the background of this, and in other, only places where they
18:20talk over each other a lot, messes the lip syncer up, then, so, I made this little green hill a
18:28separate beast from the full background here, let's, so, we can, so, more, sort of, 3D, this is
18:40closer, so, it slides faster, see him in the back there, also helps, and what is this, okay, so,
18:51yeah, so, he's, because he's like that, you know, let's open that in, here's how that looks in
19:02open tunes, we'll fucking, there it goes, so, his thrasher shirt, I just took the actual decal and
19:08plastered on later, because, you can just import images into this, like that, but a lot of times,
19:15it kind of, lags it out, and crashes it, so, I try to avoid that as much as I can, we have, so, here,
19:22this is a different mouth, I just did all this lip sync by myself, because, he just says a couple
19:27words, it's not too bad, so, here he goes, let's go through here, and it stops when he gets there,
19:39because, so, when we look at that, yeah, see, so, it pans away from his mouth for, like, the ending
19:55part of this, so, it, like, there's no point in doing his mouth if it's not even going to be on
19:59screen, see it, let's see it pan down to, so, we have that to the tune of the song, oh, my God,
20:10so, this, I just stole the gradient offline, oh, boy, and what's cool about this is, so, I just had to do,
20:21you know, autosave, that's what that is, it's trying to do, so, I could just copy-paste one of these
20:28mouths to the other ones, because they say the exact same thing, that's cool,
20:42oh, oh, this is what fucking breaks, because I just put the actual fucking Naruto footage over top of
20:54this is in here, because, for some reason, I didn't want to just wait for editing, so, that fucks us up,
21:02probably, here is, let's pull, let's pull that up, and this, oh, here's that, also, how it kind of pans,
21:13this is also not a tween, I just did that myself, so, here's how that looks in here, you'll notice,
21:19did not bother drawing his body for this first part, because he, it starts zoomed in,
21:26this part is cropped off, originally, so, then, he kind of just, he shakes around a bit, so,
21:34how you do that in Krita, it's, it's not, you can't do tweeting in this, but you can do my little fake
21:40tweeting, I like, you click this icon here, and you can drag him around, you can squash him up and down,
21:47that's just your free drag tool, let's fix him, and he, so, he does that bounce, so, this is a little
21:56mind trick for you, he, you just do that, you know, it's just another drawing, the, the bounce kind of,
22:03kind of deludes you into thinking there was more movement there than there was,
22:07so, that's, you see that sort of, kind of bounce trick in, like, a lot of older internet cartoons,
22:16from the time that this is kind of trying to harken back to, like, odd ones out, does it,
22:22now, you know how they do it, here's our solid background here, because, let's scroll down,
22:31is it this, yep, see, we just have this, that, and that, just pre-made stuff,
22:37let's see what this is, see, so, it was very important to, like, bucket tool the white here,
22:48because, so, otherwise, he would be see-through in front of this hot topic here, we can actually
22:53see a part where I, like, fucked that up, kind of showed him talking about later, but, yeah, it's,
23:00that's something you gotta really try to remember, if you're, if you have your white, like, drawing
23:04cannabis, it's an easy thing to forget, because it's just already white, looks like, but you still
23:10need a bucket tool of that, here it is, uh, this is more of that bullshit, I just put the actual
23:17jackass footage in here, for some reason, so, let's see how that looks, see, in here, it's just,
23:26blank screen, and then up here, it's, it's jackass, so it's, kind of, looks like, so then, it's not as,
23:37like, nothing going on, just have this still image, because you have this, there's something moving,
23:41and then, here they are, it's the same thing, where, you can just copy the exact same lip sync,
23:49because they're doing it in harmony, uh, let's actually watch the, sort of, bounce thing in motion,
23:55so, let's show that, so, we'll show, he squashes down, we can, should be able to see, like, the layering,
24:06over here, like, all three of these, kind of, have to be their own, actually, wait, I think,
24:12oh, yeah, he's, he doesn't have to move at all, so, he's just part of the TV, okay, and then,
24:18there's him, squashing up, we'll, see how that looks in motion,
24:25oh, and this part, let's, this is, probably one of my favorite, things in this whole thing,
24:38I like how this, sort of, turned out, we have, so, there's Tony Hawk, just in here,
24:43Matt Hoffman, him, this is the same thing, where, he says,
24:49the one bald, and then, something blocked by their, like, derilla noise,
24:54sense, just sound, so, that's, the four syllables, those,
24:59that wasn't too bad, I just lip sync myself,
25:02but, like, if it's a full, like, line, it's, I would,
25:07if there's anything you do want to automate, about animating it, is that, because,
25:11it's such a simple, yet, mind-numbingly, tedious, thing, it's just, like, I would rather use that
25:18time to, like, figure out how to do the, like, hard stuff, and get that over with,
25:24just personally, these squashes, so, here, because, this is him saying, I can't remember his name,
25:32so, that's a, that's a few more words, I just did that, lip sync, with the program there,
25:38and, here, he is, and then, so, all of that, is, it's still images in there, I did,
25:46my little tweening, also, so, these arrows here are, if you, hold on,
25:55if you, like, right click here, that is, sort of, it's ease in, and ease out, interpolation,
26:02which, which, like, it's, it's really finicky in this, you can only, do whatever, there's a certain
26:10amount of space between keyframes, but, that's how you get over there, kind of, like, accelerate and
26:15slow down, which is good, sometimes, it's, makes panning look a little better, so, let's see how this
26:23looks, so, that's how that works, so, this is the keyframe for him being all the way over there,
26:31and then, it snaps back over here, for him to pan in the same way,
26:42and then, this, like, this little thing, where it's, like, moving past the checkerboard, is
26:46inspired by, there was an Ed's World music video thing, that's actually from 2006, that has
26:51similar effect, I think it looks nice, and it's indicative of the time, also, similar thing, this,
27:00this Curious George movie came out in 2006, so, that's why that's there, and that's a, so,
27:09that's good that he's, his own thing in the background is a good thing, so, you can actually
27:13have it, like, go behind him, doesn't, like, obscure him at all, so, he comes in, so, then,
27:32here's, as I'm skipping past the Bliss background, let's see how that looks, here's how that looks,
27:40here, they come up, down, it will fucking load, all right, there he goes, they, when they come
27:49up, his leg is, it's a different leg that's in front, that doesn't really register too much
27:55with this, like, his black pants, so, it's like that, so, it's next there, whoop, and then,
28:13this writing is also its own, like, separate file that can just, so I can just have it tween
28:19through, oh, it froze, like, like, more fucking Naruto footage put over that, that's such a good
28:30idea, this program can totally handle me doing that, it's great, uh, here's how that looks
28:36here, so, actually, something I had to do is, so, his hair, this is kind of bad composition,
28:45this is why, I'm not, this is why I don't want to teach you, like, animating the voice,
28:50like, he should be further away, so this doesn't connect, it fucks with, like, I'm trying to
28:55do, like, sort of perspective, like, this is in the back, but, you have this, and then,
29:00so, where his hair should go, it should go, like, maybe we can, yeah, we can see my little
29:05hacky, like, bucket tool fuck up here, so, it goes into the TV a little too much, so, uh,
29:14when you look at it, so, the, even though this is all one drawing, the way I still got
29:21his hair to, like, kind of go over top of that, not to, it doesn't look like it's, like,
29:26caught in the screen there, is, let's see, this green, this green little column here,
29:33it means, I clicked this brush and actually drew something, so I filled in his hair with,
29:39like, that, but, I, I don't just draw in open tunes because the way this works is,
29:44is, oh, my god, that, I don't like that, I need it to be, it's just instant,
29:50so, we have that,
29:57let's see what else is here, oh, yeah, another thing where, like, pans out to reveal this,
30:07I don't know why, I don't know why I just didn't, it could've just had one frame of,
30:14or, I guess, two for his drum animation, I don't know why I just didn't, just already,
30:19oh, that, oh, that's right, because they, they changed their faces, that's right,
30:23and then, so, when you get to this, this is, so, by this point, we are, we have, like, so, there's,
30:33that's another, sort of, shortcut thing, is, there's only, like, 70 unique frames, and there's,
30:41and there's, certain ones are on screen for, like, certain amounts of time to stretch it out,
30:46and so, my computer, kind of, like, once you get to this many, like, frames of something,
30:53it, kind of, it, kind of starts slowing down, straight in the computer, so,
30:58save that as its own thing here, then, let's go to part two,
31:05is this, this is a weird, weird thing, it's, like, a mix of, like, kind of, like, dragging him across
31:13the screen, and frame by frame, so, if it'll let me in there, see, a sort of smear thing, where he's,
31:20he's, like, stretched out, his fingers are bent back, like that, comes all the way over here,
31:26here, that's him squashing down, but these are all new, new drawings, I think, actually, I think,
31:33nope, those are new, and this is, this part is different, I decided to add more to his legs for
31:41him to be taller, comes down, it's the same, copy-paste of that same frame there,
31:49comes back, this is,
31:51it's a weird little thing here,
31:54let's see, he jumps, that's all just one drawing that I rotated, and then,
32:10so, here's his, here's his Naruto run down the hall, let's see how that looks in here,
32:16I actually bothered to, kind of, put the effect to show that this is the other leg in front,
32:20this time, this time, I need trips, kind of slides a bit,
32:26let's see how that looks,
32:30is it this, no, it's not that,
32:33I think it's this, yep, see the,
32:35so, this is the file for the lockers,
32:39it has their own thing in the back, so they can, so they can pan through like this,
32:43and then, I kind of just, instead of them, like, sliding, this looks more like tripping,
32:53to have them, like, rotate away like this, and then,
32:55this bully is meant to be the main dude from High School Musical,
33:01because that was, that came out 2006, was trying to go for that,
33:04I don't, don't think it looks like him, I don't even think his character was that he's like,
33:08like a, actual, like, rotten bully, but,
33:13I don't know, I still think it's a, that's a fun, like, stupid face,
33:16because I still like this design, even though it's,
33:18doesn't really, indicative of that, more,
33:21more camera pan shenanigans, he's supposed to look like he's sucking the emo dick,
33:26but, it is, that's not,
33:28it, it's just his trombone,
33:31because he plays a trombone in real life, aren't I smart?
33:35Here's this, so,
33:37it's specifically,
33:39it's Fred, Fredberger from Billy and Mandy,
33:42because they had their,
33:44he was like Cartoon Network's mascot,
33:45for a little bit in 2006,
33:47where it was just him over a red background,
33:49same bullshit,
33:50a lot of ads of that,
33:52Sonic 06,
33:55dude, what, dude,
33:56this is blanking out,
33:57what year did Sonic 06 come out in,
33:59help,
34:01here's our dumb looking Steve Irwin,
34:05so,
34:06oh, wait, no, that's up here,
34:07you have three frames to see this fucking Stingray come in,
34:11I held a community tab poll to ask if this was in bad taste,
34:15and,
34:16an overwhelming majority of people said no,
34:19so,
34:20I don't,
34:20have to take full responsibility for that,
34:23meaning that if you're mad at it,
34:25here is,
34:27traced over a,
34:29infamous picture of a LAN party,
34:31is what this is called,
34:32there's,
34:33someone else made a trace,
34:34where it's,
34:34the family guy characters in the positions,
34:36so the,
34:38the nar,
34:39no, not the nar,
34:40so the,
34:40the Halo 2 footage I put over this,
34:44was,
34:44actually,
34:45did it,
34:46did that in post,
34:47like a normal fucking human being,
34:48because this is,
34:50this is Counter-Strike here,
34:51and also,
34:52it's a Stella image,
34:52so it,
34:53it doesn't move,
34:54so there you go,
34:56what else is down here,
34:59it's Madagascar with Alex the Lion,
35:02so,
35:03that's what this,
35:04character is,
35:05this is how,
35:05Blaze the movie fan,
35:07like,
35:07draws himself,
35:08and he's a,
35:10he's a,
35:14separate thing,
35:15he,
35:15so you can,
35:16because I forgot to put him in there,
35:17and it's also,
35:19like when you can't do like,
35:20tweeting stuff in Krita,
35:22it's nice to be able to keep track of just,
35:24these two things,
35:25and not have the third thing in there,
35:26just throw him in later,
35:29what is this,
35:30oh,
35:31here's the 911 smoke that,
35:32doesn't move,
35:38but I did bother to,
35:40animate this fucking rainbow flying,
35:42and there you go,
35:48here's Shoop the Whoop,
35:50another example where,
35:53this,
35:53he says,
35:54four syllables,
35:56I'm not gonna make the program do four syllables,
35:59so I just,
36:01plus you can,
36:03he says,
36:03he says,
36:04Shoop,
36:06and then,
36:08whoops,
36:08you can just copy paste the same,
36:10like oh,
36:11so there you go,
36:12he,
36:13he slides,
36:14he slides back,
36:15that's another fake tweening I did in Krita,
36:18here's his,
36:20have this,
36:21so,
36:23you can go to actual animation tutorials,
36:25learn about like ones versus twos,
36:27but,
36:28for this,
36:29if this moved at ones,
36:30it would probably,
36:31it kind of looks too nauseating,
36:32so,
36:33you just,
36:33you just have your one drawing,
36:35you can,
36:35drag it out,
36:36so you don't have to actually,
36:38like have this project file going at,
36:40like 12 versus 24 frames a second,
36:42you can just,
36:44it's 24 frames a second,
36:46but just,
36:47have these,
36:47manually make them on screen for two,
36:50and also just copy paste them,
36:53just,
36:54I don't,
36:55kind of disappointed with this,
36:56I don't think it looks enough like George Bush,
36:58like I didn't,
37:00I didn't accentuate his cheeks enough,
37:02really,
37:06kind of,
37:06looks like Bill Clinton a little,
37:09what's,
37:09what's down here,
37:10Osama,
37:11you don't really get to see this,
37:14but I like him just,
37:15looking straight at the camera,
37:16with his dumb Simpsons eyes,
37:18and then,
37:19him darting his eyes is,
37:22if that's frame by frame,
37:23but it's,
37:23it's the same effect as my,
37:25like fake tweening,
37:26where,
37:27so this is where he like starts,
37:30he gets kind of where he's going,
37:33and a little,
37:33just slightly more to,
37:35have it kind of ease in,
37:37something you could do is like,
37:40we could switch,
37:41like step three and four here,
37:43around,
37:43so it's,
37:47so you get that sort of like,
37:48bounce effect,
37:49like they overshoot and come back,
37:50I'll do that sometimes,
37:52same effect of like kind of just,
37:54adding more life,
37:55even though it's,
37:57not,
37:58not too,
37:59I guess not,
38:00this is groundbreaking animation,
38:02but just little things like that,
38:03to make it look more appealing to look at,
38:06and him coming back,
38:09I think this is,
38:11iPod Nano,
38:13and this,
38:15what I was trying to do is,
38:18it's like,
38:18it slides past,
38:20then,
38:21then he comes in,
38:22I was trying to go for like another,
38:23fake 3D thing,
38:24where like you,
38:26sort of,
38:27so it's like a POV,
38:28of like him looking at his,
38:30iPod,
38:30then it kind of like spins back,
38:31to actually show him dead on,
38:34from a dance,
38:35I put,
38:37here's how his,
38:38here's how his,
38:39head banging looks with,
38:40at like two frames a second,
38:44here's how that looks,
38:45without the filters,
38:46I put over this,
38:47to try and invoke movie maker,
38:50is this the,
38:51yes,
38:51this is it,
38:52so this,
38:54is what I was talking about,
38:55where you don't,
38:56Bucketool the white,
38:57that's supposed to be,
38:58part of his head,
39:00but it's like his own little thing,
39:01I did not fill it in,
39:03so now it's orange,
39:04and then something really weird is,
39:06I,
39:07I guess I,
39:08may I remember to do it there,
39:10but,
39:11not here,
39:11I don't know how that,
39:12fucking works,
39:13how the,
39:15here it is,
39:15wait,
39:16one, two,
39:18this is our vacuum joke,
39:22it's something,
39:23something that doesn't really show up in here,
39:25but,
39:25like,
39:26if you're just gonna have a still image on screen,
39:28like at least have like some kind of,
39:30either,
39:30I mean this is,
39:31this is fine,
39:32because it's like literally like two seconds,
39:34of just being there,
39:34and then it cuts to something else,
39:37but,
39:38what I'd like,
39:39what I'd like to do,
39:40if it's,
39:40if you're just gonna hold on a still image,
39:41for really long,
39:42is,
39:43just have it like,
39:44kind of pan,
39:44like zoom out,
39:45just as like,
39:46movement,
39:47or some kind of movement,
39:48here is Wii Sports,
39:51I guess that's where he starts,
39:53that's frame by frame,
39:55and throwing that,
39:57then my weird hybrid kicks in with a jump,
39:59so,
40:00I actually,
40:01I didn't quite remember,
40:02how this looked,
40:03this is in,
40:04like when you fuck up,
40:05Wii Sports bowling,
40:06everyone in the back,
40:07like jumps,
40:09so,
40:10I was looking it up,
40:11trying to remember how it looked,
40:12and,
40:13I was like,
40:13oh please god,
40:14I just hope they don't spin around,
40:16please tell me they don't,
40:17and they,
40:18they sure enough,
40:18they spin around,
40:19and I was like,
40:20fuck,
40:20I have to actually,
40:22draw that,
40:22it's more work,
40:23except,
40:24not even too bad,
40:25because it's just,
40:26it's like four frames,
40:28of them spinning around,
40:29and I didn't even change the body,
40:31just the,
40:31head and arm placement,
40:33or,
40:33the ball for their hand,
40:34and also,
40:37I don't even think,
40:38they're rendered like this,
40:39in the bowling,
40:39it's,
40:39didn't earn that cheat,
40:43come down,
40:44they,
40:44see this is what I was,
40:47talking about a little,
40:48earlier with Osama's eyes,
40:50they,
40:51yeah,
40:51they squash down,
40:53like that,
40:54to sort of,
40:55you can,
40:55that's another little,
40:56effect to,
40:57sort of,
40:58punch that up a bit,
40:59here's this,
41:01I,
41:02love,
41:04be,
41:05ing,
41:07uh,
41:08uh,
41:12oh,
41:12that's right,
41:13this is,
41:14so you can,
41:15you can very easily,
41:16pinpoint this,
41:17where I just,
41:17got sick of making it,
41:18wanting it,
41:19wanted it to be over,
41:20and there's like,
41:21barely any,
41:22anything,
41:23past this point,
41:23I just,
41:24in this section here,
41:25I just flashed a bunch of,
41:27like actual pictures,
41:28stuff from the time,
41:30on screen,
41:31rapid fire,
41:33still image,
41:34I don't,
41:35I think 2006,
41:36is a little late for this,
41:37but I just didn't,
41:38know what else to put there,
41:41another still image,
41:42but,
41:43see this is what I was,
41:43talking about,
41:44like if it's gonna hold on,
41:45these still images,
41:46the little strobe effects,
41:47I put in is like,
41:49like bare minimum,
41:50to like,
41:51make it like,
41:52a little,
41:52add more life,
41:53here,
41:54not a total slideshow,
41:57here's their memory,
41:59memory book,
42:00they're looking at,
42:01something funny about,
42:03this is,
42:04so that is the,
42:06robot baby,
42:07from the,
42:08PS3 commercials,
42:09one last little,
42:10thing that was actually,
42:11from 2006,
42:12but,
42:13someone in the comments,
42:14thought it was,
42:15clerk,
42:15it was a clerk,
42:16like,
42:17if you know,
42:17if you know,
42:18who's schmorky is at all,
42:20you would know why,
42:21that's a pretty insane thing,
42:23to put in here,
42:24but that is not,
42:24what this is,
42:25I meant to,
42:26I thought about,
42:27putting one in there,
42:27because that is,
42:29like,
42:29you know,
42:29like,
42:30it's like something awful,
42:32it's pretty,
42:332000s-ish,
42:34I probably could have put it,
42:36like,
42:36back up in this,
42:37like,
42:37montage here,
42:38if I wasn't a lazy fuck,
42:40but,
42:41it wasn't,
42:41did not,
42:42it was not meant to be,
42:43and we have,
42:46let's see what,
42:47this is there,
42:48oh yeah,
42:49this is where it,
42:51reveals that they were just,
42:5230 year old fucks,
42:54looking at,
42:55looking at memories past,
42:57so,
42:57that's kind of what I wanted to go for,
42:59with the,
43:00so,
43:00that's what his pink glasses are,
43:03that he has throughout the video,
43:04it's supposed to be,
43:05literal rose tinted glasses,
43:06because they,
43:08I mean,
43:08they wrote the song as a joke,
43:09but,
43:11I don't know,
43:11it's still,
43:12it still kind of,
43:14fits the mold of like,
43:16really,
43:16like,
43:17superficial nostalgia bait songs,
43:19so I kind of,
43:20so it's kind of,
43:21invoking that a little,
43:23he,
43:24he has his own lip sync here,
43:26and,
43:27like that,
43:28and then what is,
43:29this is where it fades to black,
43:31the,
43:33so yeah,
43:33the,
43:33the Windows Movie Maker credits,
43:36are not on this,
43:37obviously,
43:38but,
43:38they're not actually done,
43:40in Movie Maker,
43:41I don't,
43:41think there's a way to,
43:43download it in,
43:43current day,
43:45I don't,
43:45like all the archives,
43:46I looked up for like,
43:47how to find it,
43:48just aren't around anymore,
43:49it seems like,
43:50so,
43:51what I did for that,
43:52was I,
43:54if I just,
43:54like,
43:55screenshotted a,
43:56old video that had the,
43:57Movie Maker,
43:58the,
44:00and then just put my own,
44:02text over it,
44:03and then,
44:03seems like that,
44:04tricked people,
44:05I don't think anyone,
44:06noticed,
44:07unless I like told them,
44:08so,
44:10kind of,
44:11kind of been away from,
44:12Krita for a while,
44:13let's see what,
44:15what it is,
44:16oh,
44:17this is him,
44:17sliding back,
44:19it's the same thing here,
44:20to like,
44:21kind of resize him,
44:22is how I did that,
44:23and then just drew the mouth over him,
44:25seems,
44:25I think we,
44:26kind of just,
44:27you kind of get the gist,
44:28of like how stuff is done,
44:29so,
44:31so,
44:31when we save this,
44:33we go to render,
44:35you can,
44:36you can save it as a video,
44:38like an mp4,
44:39but,
44:40image sequence here is,
44:42it saves every,
44:43individual file as,
44:45or every individual frame of this,
44:47as its own png,
44:48so that's how we get the,
44:50that's how we keep,
44:51we're able to keep the,
44:52transparent effect,
44:53and just have like a,
44:55have like a,
44:55if there's any kind of walk cycle,
44:58it's really useful for that,
45:00so,
45:01you,
45:02you discern like,
45:04which frame of this is the last one,
45:06you name it,
45:07file location,
45:08all that,
45:09and then,
45:11so,
45:11for naming it,
45:12whatever you want to name it,
45:13make sure you put,
45:14a period at the end of it,
45:15so,
45:17let's,
45:17let's pull one up,
45:18alright,
45:18so here is,
45:20how that looks,
45:23how each frame of this,
45:25when rendered as,
45:26image sequence looks,
45:27it's all in its own folder,
45:28it's named,
45:29dot zero zero zero one,
45:31and so on,
45:31look at this,
45:32a fucking shadow ghoul,
45:34and,
45:36so this is how,
45:37open tuners,
45:38these image sequences,
45:39so if we,
45:40come in here,
45:43we,
45:43we,
45:44we just drag any one of these frames,
45:48into,
45:49whatever,
45:52see,
45:53see,
45:54it can tell that they're all,
45:55supposed to go together,
45:56so every frame,
45:57that was in that folder,
45:58gets put in here,
45:58and you can,
46:00something needs to be on screen,
46:01for a certain amount of time,
46:02you can,
46:03drag it like this,
46:04and,
46:06there,
46:07you go,
46:07that's how,
46:08we,
46:09get our creative stuff,
46:10into open tunes,
46:11to do all this crap,
46:13and then,
46:16so we kind of went in a weird order,
46:18but,
46:18I like to just,
46:19draw it,
46:20and create it first,
46:21and,
46:21having the,
46:24having just the,
46:25like,
46:26audio here,
46:27is good,
46:27so you can like,
46:28just come back to it,
46:29see what you need to put in the animation,
46:30and then,
46:33so yeah,
46:35so I like,
46:36draw everything,
46:37and create it,
46:37do that,
46:38to get in here,
46:39and then just drag it around as I need,
46:41put the lip sync on,
46:43get any like,
46:45additional assets in here,
46:46like,
46:47just,
46:48ripping sound effects,
46:49or whatever,
46:50and,
46:52there you go,
46:53that is,
46:53how I make this garbage,
46:55everything else I made,
46:56is like,
46:57done similarly,
46:58but,
46:59I figured this one,
47:00like,
47:00this,
47:01this is the popular one,
47:02and it has probably the most going on,
47:04to look at,
47:05so,
47:06there you go,
47:07hope you,
47:08hope you learn,
47:10how,
47:11like,
47:12how,
47:13like,
47:13easy it is to,
47:15at least get into animation,
47:16not necessarily,
47:17like,
47:17do it good,
47:18but,
47:19it is accessible to anyone,
47:21with a computer,
47:22basically,
47:22it,
47:23as long as you just have a computer,
47:24and like,
47:25some money,
47:26that it,
47:27this is,
47:28this has never been easier,
47:29to get into,
47:30so,
47:31hope you enjoyed.
