00:00I'm frustrated, and I think there are so many levels to this.
00:03But let's just put it where it is.
00:06Let's go back to what we thought this season would be,
00:09with the offense and the new offensive coordinator,
00:11who went to John Carroll, by the way.
00:14And the new pass game coordinator, who went to John Carroll, by the way.
00:18And, of course, the director of pro scouting
00:21and all the players that they were bringing in.
00:25By the way, he went to John Carroll.
00:27Pretty good school, huh?
00:28And the general manager making all these decisions,
00:35who, by the way, went to John Carroll University.
00:37You are wasting it.
00:39Let's go back to what we thought this team would be.
00:42It's a waste with this generational defense.
00:45Speculation, right.
00:46With this generational defense.
00:49Four turnovers, Reggie.
00:51Three turnover margin over the Seattle Seahawks.
00:56You scored a touchdown defensively.
00:59You stopped everything they were doing.
01:01That was the touchdown that you scored.
01:03That was the only touchdown you scored.
01:05The word of the day is waste.
01:07You're wasting this season because of decisions made by the institution.
01:12That institution's name is Nick Casario.
01:16By the way, went to John Carroll University.
01:19And Patriots.
01:19Tell me how you really do it.
01:20In general, right.
01:22Do you want to get into that portion of this?
01:23No.
01:23Honestly, no.
01:24Yeah, we might as well get into it now, man.
01:27That's your main takeaway.
01:28I can tell.
01:29All right.
01:30You're in the loop.
01:30No, we can go talk about the takeaways of the game.
01:32We'll do that later, man.
01:33Nah, let's talk about Nick Casario right now.
01:35Get involved with the program.
01:367-1-3-5-7-2.
01:39I told you I was hot.
01:40Sorry.
01:41I told you I was hot.
01:42It just came spewing out of you.
01:43I was like, all right, how do we describe this game?
01:46This brother over here naming Scouts.
01:47And I'll set it up.
01:50He's gone into the masthead.
01:53What is?
01:54Director of Pro Scouting.
01:56You know how you find guys like Cam Robinson and Trent Brown and Christian Kirk.
02:00Well.
02:01And Laken Tomlinson.
02:02Yeah.
02:02And just go down the list.
02:04That's the Director of Pro Scouting.
02:05Who went to John Carroll University, by the way, and has a Patriots background.
02:09Not just a scout.
02:10Now, the Director of Pro Scouting.
02:13You really.
02:13This is heavy on your heart.
02:15Because you're telling me.
02:18Nick Casario got to go.
02:20No.
02:20I'm telling you Nick Casario is the problem.
02:23All right.
02:24Nick Casario is the one.
02:26If you have to go down to one thing, he's the problem.
02:29Because you're telling me.
02:31With a quarterback like C.J. Stroud.
02:34By all accounts, a franchise quarterback.
02:36A defense that is already.
02:38Was playing good.
02:39In D'Amico's first year.
02:42You know, was playing very good.
02:43And became very, very good last year.
02:45You're telling me for a team like that in the NFL.
02:48That has solid ownership.
02:49And everything else.
02:51That when you're making changes on the offense.
02:55You need a new offensive line coach.
02:58Right?
02:58Well, let's get the guy that was an assistant.
03:00Who was a Patriots guy, by the way.
03:03Let's get the guy who was an assistant to the guy we fired.
03:05All right?
03:06Let's get him.
03:06You got to get an offensive coordinator.
03:09Hey!
03:10You know what?
03:11Nick Cayley was a student assistant at John Carroll University.
03:15He was a student assistant at John Carroll University.
03:18And he coached at New England.
03:20Let's name that guy.
03:21Yeah, but he's never called a play in his life.
03:22That's all right.
03:23That's cool.
03:25Let's do that.
03:25Oh, we need some veterans to bring in.
03:29You know, we lost digs.
03:31We need some help on the offensive line.
03:34Let's ask our director of pro scouting about some of these guys we can bring in.
03:40Hey, how do you like the offensive line?
03:41They're scrappy.
03:42They're scrappy.
03:44Come on, man.
03:46Nick Casario is the problem.
03:48He's the problem.
03:49You know what's sick?
03:53I mean, you're not wrong.
03:54Like, there's clearly institutional issues that showed up in a big way in this game, right?
04:00Nick Casario is the top of the institution.
04:02That's how these things roll, right?
04:04Like, the whole buck stops here.
04:06That absolutely is there.
04:07He ain't the only one.
04:08Like, there was all the way around.
04:09Yesterday, we called this the test of the season.
04:13Yeah.
04:13And when it came down to the test of the season, first and foremost, very bad, very bad performance.
04:19But it wasn't just not knowing the material.
04:21They also don't have test-taking skills, right?
04:24Like, they didn't even come with the, when I don't know, I answer C.
04:27Or, well, let me just, let me mark off some of the answers off of the test that I know are wrong, right?
04:33And the reason I can say that, again, 713-572-4610, a way to get involved with the program,
04:38let us know your frustrations, because apparently that's how we're just going to do this.
04:41The way that I know that they don't even have the test-taking skills that were necessary
04:45in this very clear fail, in the past fail of the test.
04:48Why are you going back to things that we know don't work?
04:52Exactly.
04:53Exactly.
04:54Yeah.
04:54Why are we going back to things that don't work?
04:57Yeah.
04:58Because I'm just, frustration.
04:59What are your frustrations?
05:00713-572-4610.
05:02Let's, because, I mean, look, there's a ton of frustrations in Texas land.
05:06So let's just kind of have a therapy session of sorts and get it all out on the table.
05:09And that's what I think this four hours will be to some degree.
05:11The first thing that was, hey, man, why in the actual bleep is there a left guard rotation
05:21series to series?
05:22Laken Tomlinson.
05:23It literally was.
05:25Laken Tomlinson, who wears 75, gets the odd-numbered series.
05:28Juice Scruggs, who wears 70, gets the even-numbered series.
05:31I hope that's true.
05:32I know it's true.
05:33I hope that's true.
05:34I know it's true, because I was watching it as the first few.
05:37That would be awesome.
05:38I was watching it.
05:38Odds and evens.
05:39No, no.
05:396-7.
05:39We can do the 6-7 thing.
05:41Quite literally.
05:416-7.
05:42Yeah.
05:43Quite literally.
05:43I was watching it as what's happened in the first few series.
05:46And then I was using it as my backdrop when I was like, wait, which series is this?
05:49That's so awesome.
05:49Oh, yeah, no, Juice Scruggs is in there.
05:51Boom, there he is.
05:51That's so awesome.
05:52How in the actual hell?
05:53Did Juice not win the job?
05:55Apparently not.
05:56Man.
05:57Yeah.
05:57But how does that happen?
05:59But wait, there's more.
06:00You know, you were talking about they ran out of plays, right?
06:03What was their passing game for a whole series there?
06:06Throw it deep this way.
06:07Throw it deep that way.
06:08Cross your fingers.
06:09Throw it deep this way.
06:10If only we had, you know, a pass game coordinator.
06:14Oh, yeah, they hired Jerry Szaplinski this year.
06:17He's a John Carroll guy, by the way, and a Patriots guy.
06:19He's got the double whammy working.
06:21Oh, how about this?
06:23Jalen, no, we might need to get him some more touches.
06:25I was going to get there because I'm not even.
06:27Let's start Braxton Berrios, who was drafted by the Patriots, by the way,
06:32and seems to be, I don't know, a New England type guy.
06:36I'll put it that way.
06:37A New England type guy.
06:39Let's start him.
06:40Oh, you know what?
06:41Let's go ahead and let him return punts, too.
06:44Yeah.
06:44What the hell is going on?
06:46Again, going to, like, the changes that they've gone back to, right,
06:50in this game.
06:51Before I even move off of the offense,
06:54you have Tomlinson in, it was very clear that they were just going to run
06:57behind him.
06:58In fact, your inability to pick up a fourth down there later in the game,
07:03you run two plays immediately behind Lake and Tomlinson where you get
07:06absolutely no push.
07:07In fact, speaking of, things that you know don't work,
07:09they started off early in this game running where?
07:12Right into the teeth of that defensive line, right in the middle,
07:14and they got no push.
07:16How about going back in this way when it comes to things that you know don't
07:21work?
07:21All of a sudden, Braxton Berrios, the returner, again?
07:23He's a New England type guy.
07:25I don't know.
07:26It just strikes me that way.
07:27Hey, maybe that was his job before he got hurt.
07:28Oh, yeah.
07:29He was drafted by New England.
07:30He's been a healthy and active.
07:31Yeah.
07:32Right.
07:32You started putting Jalen Knoll in the game, giving him some opportunity,
07:36and then all of a sudden, no, man, Jalen Knoll don't get no burn.
07:41Like, how does that work?
07:42So, back to the first point, why I'm mentioning these things,
07:45because it is an institutional problem, and the institution is Nick Casario.
07:49You're telling me of all the resumes and recommendations that you received to fix this offense, Reggie.
07:58We've got to fix this offense.
07:59We've got a franchise quarterback.
08:00We've got a hell of a defense.
08:02We've got to fix this offense.
08:03But if you're telling me of all the stacks and stacks of resumes and recommendations that you got,
08:08John Carroll, John Carroll, John Carroll, John Carroll, Patriots, Patriots, Patriots, Patriots,
08:12Berrios, Cam Robinson, Trent Brown, Lakin Tomlinson,
08:16you're telling me that they just happened to be the best options?
08:20Hey, it worked in New England.
08:22Yeah.
08:23Yeah.
08:24You're telling me that this was just a coinkydink?
08:27That D'Amico Ryans, I hired him?
08:31You're telling me D'Amico Ryans?
08:33D'Amico Ryans, how do you tell me?
08:36I mean, he wants to take the heat for it, and so he can get the heat.
08:40The whole organization gets the heat for this, though, because, I mean, if you hire Nick Cayley,
08:45whether it's Casario's input, whether it's D'Amico Ryans' hire,
08:49it's clear that he's out of his depth.
08:52I think we can get into that in a deeper level.
08:54But if you're going to do that, right, and if you know that you want to play complementary football,
08:58you want to be able to run the football, you've got to have talent, man.
09:01You've got to be able to get push on the offensive line.
09:05And admittedly, this is one of the tougher teams to go up and try and get push on.
09:09But you've either got to know that, like know your personnel and operate accordingly,
09:14or you've got to know that you're going to be this stubborn in the way that you want to handle this.
09:18And on the front end, make sure that your talent is capable of handling this.
09:21In fact, Nick Casario chuckled when, you know, just at the implication that maybe, just maybe,
09:29they did not acquire a good enough talent or they did not go about assembling this offensive line
09:34in the right way in the offseason.
09:35And the point has been proven that unless you're playing against bad teams who are beaten,
09:40bruised, or just not competent, this offensive line is not sufficient for what you're trying to do.
09:45Well, let's go through all of them.
09:46Let's go through the three biggest issues of, let's just talk about last night's game
09:50and where the real issues stem from.
09:57Absolutely, horrifically bad, embarrassing play calling.
10:03That was about as bad a called game offensively as you have ever seen, as I have ever seen.
10:10That was, we can go into the details and we will with the four downs and the runs
10:15and the throwing the ball down deep and, you know, hey, you know, Dalton Schultz has caught a couple.
10:21Let's just keep throwing it to him, which, by the way, that worked.
10:23But absolutely embarrassing play calling.
10:26Who's the offensive coordinator?
10:28Nick Cayley.
10:29John Carroll guy, by the way, also has some New England ties.
10:32Horrible offensive line.
10:34Can we agree on that?
10:36It's a horrible offensive line.
10:38I think we got the word on the offensive line.
10:41You know what one of the funny things is, though?
10:43Statistically speaking, when you look at this week seven and pressure on, now, of course,
10:49Seager Stroud ended up dropping back like 49 times in this game, which never is what you want to do,
10:55I mean, regardless in this modern NFL.
10:58He was pressured in, like, the 20s.
11:01Yeah.
11:01Like, he wasn't near the most highly pressured, but the types of pressures were grueling.
11:08The types of pressures absolutely blew up plays, and C.J. Stroud's, like, just happy feet
11:13and seemingly, like, his just clock was just way, way early.
11:16All of those things put you in a place where you couldn't execute football.
11:20Yeah.
11:20So, absolutely embarrassing play calling.
11:23Nick Cayley.
11:23That points to Nick Casario.
11:25Horrible offensive line.
11:26Cole Popovich, Patriots guy, assistant, that points to Nick Casario.
11:32Now, let's talk about the perplexing personnel decisions that we've talked about here,
11:36whether it's Berrios or Cam Robinson or Lakington or whomever, you know?
11:41That points directly to Nick Casario.
11:44I mean, this is, he's blinded by, I don't know if it's loyalty, professional nepotism,
11:51whatever it is, not a solely a Nick Cayley and Cole Popovich and Laken Tomlinson and go
12:01down the list, you know, Jerry Szaplinski.
12:04And this is, they are symptoms of the bigger problem.
12:08The bigger problem is what Nick Casario did to make this offense and fix this offense,
12:12which clearly he has not.
12:14Yeah.
12:14I mean, this, this, this is a patent failure.
12:17You went from a team in 2023 that had, you know, that jumped out early, jumped out well
12:23beyond, I think, expectations early on for this team.
12:26And you go, oh, there's something here.
12:282024, you go on, you get aggressive.
12:30You go on, acquire free agents.
12:32You go and look at this team and say, hey, we're going to try and take that next step up.
12:36And in some ways you are, but obviously the offense clearly was not good enough.
12:41And this was a, this was a inflection point of a season.
12:44And this game was the inflection point of that inflection point.
12:46And the big takeaway from that was you, you, you made poor decisions.
12:51You didn't make enough of the good decisions that you did make.
12:54And ultimately you were not on the same play, like on that same field, those teams were not
12:59on the same level in many different ways.
13:02Obviously you could talk about talent.
13:04I think discipline comes up.
13:05Let's talk about that at some point because there's, there's smoke that goes all the way
13:09around for this team.
13:10Um, and then you just, you got out coached and a lot of that comes back to the, the buck
13:17stopping at the general manager who, who has charge of the direction of this team.
13:22Um, and D'Amico Ryans will get his as well, because I think that there's questions to be
13:26asked about where D'Amico Ryans is as a game manager and as a coach.
13:29Cause a lot of the things that we credit to coaches looked really, really poor.
13:34They didn't look prepared.
13:36No, it looked like they were still on the bye week.
13:38Figgy, they had 15 days and then they put Daria Goombawale back up back there for pass
13:43protection.
13:43Yeah.
13:43That, that's what I was saying.
13:45When I talked about the things that we know that don't work.
13:47Hey, let's go back to week one.
13:48Daria, Daria third down back was back in action in this game.
13:53The rotating guards.
13:54They had 15 days.
13:56You bring back Daria Goombawale.
13:57You're still rotating guards.
13:58You have Braxton Berrios for God knows what reason.
14:02Hey, I drafted by the Patriots, by the way.
14:04Uh, and seems to be a New England type guy.
14:07Anyway, um, you, you had that 15 days offense, same offensive line.
14:13Same John, we, we got four hours.
14:15We can, we can, we can get back to that.
14:16If you want to get to the Casario personnel thing also.
14:19Yeah.
14:19Hey, where was Nick Chubb after a while?
14:21And to be fair, I don't know if this was the particularly the great game for his type
14:25of skillset.
14:26However, I think that points back to assuming that this organization knew that the Joe Mixon
14:31thing was going to go as it would, which honestly, it felt like they did.
14:35Nick Chubb, Woody Marks was basically what they put together for this, for this running
14:39back room.
14:40Um, and you see how Woody Marks was out there struggling on his, by his lonesome to try
14:44and get this done.
14:45And it's just, there was not going to be enough support there for that to happen.
14:48There's, there's a lot, there's a lot of frustration, rightfully so with this Texas
14:52team, um, as they lose what was ostensibly a one score game, but was not, did not feel
14:58like that.
14:58And, uh, as, as far as tests go, that's definitely failed, definitely, definitely a fail.
15:03Yeah.
