00:00Yeah, a bomb.
00:02I don't know how many we see that go over the batter's eye.
00:06I mean, it cleared it.
00:07And his parents were there.
00:08Josh Bill, he's a Dallas kid.
00:10His parents came down for the game.
00:11His mom was out there just taking pictures.
00:14She was so happy right behind the dugout.
00:15But, I mean, he absolutely clobbered that ball.
00:19Holy mother of God.
00:21Well.
00:23Oh, no.
00:25We suck again.
00:26We're back at it with O.E.
00:31Yeah, I'm about over it.
00:33Well, he just had double-digit strikeouts his last two starts now.
00:37I know this is the third time in as many, I don't know,
00:41I think five starts that he hasn't been able to clear the second inning.
00:44But, bro, like, like, boss man was just in here and he was like,
00:48yeah, it feels like lately it's either seven innings for me, my, or seven outs.
00:52Like, that's the way it is.
00:54You can't have it.
00:54It's about six innings.
00:56But, I mean, I want to be fair to him.
00:57I don't think he's pushed past six yet.
01:01They ain't lucky, sevens, that's for sure.
01:03Listen, the story of the game, obviously the Astros, they dropped the series.
01:07That's the first time in five series they dropped one.
01:11They lost a series for the first time on June 10th to Anaheim,
01:15or I don't know if they're still called Anaheim,
01:17the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, you know, the Mike Trouts.
01:21That's the last time they lost a series.
01:23Oh, he's not out there, but I get your point.
01:25And, obviously, this was one of those we don't have a chance right off the bat.
01:30Emai is able to grab four outs last night and four hits, five earn, five walks,
01:38hit some folks, two scouts.
01:42But those strikeouts were nice in 57 pitches.
01:48That was that line he had in Corpus, I believe.
01:51It was very similar to that, where he just didn't do well at all.
01:55And, Clint, to me, he's the story,
01:58and it is why they just cannot have him and Homer Mike in this rotation.
02:03I mean, you cannot have – they only got room in their rotation for one guy that –
02:10all right, man, it's probably up in the air if there's going to be a piggyback tonight.
02:13They only got one room for a guy that you look at –
02:16because, literally, with those two guys, you're like,
02:19I think they'll get out of the first.
02:22I think.
02:23But is there a guarantee that they're going to get through three?
02:26No.
02:27And you just – I mean, they just can't have those two.
02:28It's a hell of a predicament to be in because, again, outside of Josh Hader,
02:32I believe he's the highest-paid pitcher on the squad.
02:36But I know he's the starter.
02:39But at the end of the day, you don't want to give up on a kid
02:42because, obviously, you feel like the potential is through the roof
02:47given how you pursued him and paid him.
02:50But the reality of it is that, boy, you –
02:53kind of like we've talked about with resting the players, the position players,
02:58is that the others are so suspect, whether it be injuries
03:03or just lack of sample size or just aren't ready to produce that way yet,
03:10it's hard for – it's hard to not move with a sense of urgency.
03:15Like, this – last night made it very – made it even –
03:21significant.
03:21Yeah, it just can't happen.
03:24Agreed.
03:25Because you can't – I mean, you can't – one of those guys has to come out.
03:28Well, at least Burrow – here's the deal with Burrow.
03:30I know I'm coming over to your way of thinking with Burrow.
03:33Like, the thing with Burrow is, hell, you've said it a million times.
03:37I mean, he's going to get you five or six.
03:39I mean, M.I., hell, he might not get out of the first.
03:43Or he might strike out 11.
03:45Right, yes.
03:46But here's where I'm at.
03:48I don't know, boys, that it's not time to put M.I. in the bullpen.
03:52And for him to get some run as –
03:56You might completely lose him.
03:57Well, that's fine.
03:58He's going to – I mean, he's got to toughen up.
03:59I mean, we can throw Javier down there.
04:02I don't know if there's enough of those fruit bowls going around that ball part.
04:06I mean, we've thrown everybody – we've watched him throw everybody not named
04:09Verlander and Hunter Brown and Fromber in the damn bullpen.
04:13At some point, every pitcher that has started for the Astros,
04:16not with those three names in the last handful of years,
04:19has spent time in the bullpen.
04:20Like, I just don't know that it's not time for him to go to the bullpen
04:24and see if he can't work his magic and get us out of a pinch
04:27or get some work in a long relief situation where we're getting our tails kicked
04:32and it really doesn't matter what the hell he does.
04:34I just don't know.
04:36The wheels come off and he has a hard time getting them back on.
04:40That's the thing.
04:41It's not the rough first inning.
04:43I think we could get beyond some of the roughness.
04:46It's the – boy, when they come off, it is like he struggles to –
04:50it's either penthouse or outhouse.
04:52Yeah, but – and 713-572-416, YouTube and Twitch jump into this.
04:57To me, I just come – I come away from the last two.
05:01Those who cannot be pitching every five.
05:03Like, they can't both have spots in the rotation with Christian Javier out there.
05:08All right.
05:08Like, we'll talk about Lance, too, because, hell, Lance, he should throw his hat in the ring now
05:13after he went four innings of good baseball in AAA with what those two –
05:18but both of them can't be in the rotation.
05:21And I would wonder which one would you say you'd rather go with right now?
05:28Who would you feel more comfortable being in?
05:30Is it Emai or is it Homer Mike?
05:32And for me, it is – it's Emai because at least – like, I get your point.
05:41Man, damn, man, he might not make it out of the first, which he has done.
05:44But in between that, he has the last two starts before this one, six innings,
05:50and three runs or less, so two straight quality starts.
05:53Then he had that one bad one where he couldn't get out of the first.
05:56But then before that, five innings and two runs, six innings and two runs,
06:00six innings and no runs.
06:02Four and two thirds and three runs where he got cut short with the rain delay.
06:07Like, Mike is – Mike scares me every time he throws the pitch.
06:11Fair, but he's not going to burn down your bullpen.
06:16I will even argue that Mike should have burned down the bullpen a few other times.
06:21Joe has just said, you eat it.
06:23Yeah, you got to take it.
06:24Like, he's got – Mike has got a four or five run first innings.
06:29Like, where Joe is – hell, he gave up three in the last one.
06:33You know, you make –
06:33Joe is just –
06:35Joe trusts like –
06:36When you first said it, I said, ain't no chance.
06:38I would go with Burrow just because he burned.
06:41But if Javier is going to be in there waiting,
06:43if he's going to be sitting in there waiting for –
06:45and you're going to have a quick trigger with MI when he gets in trouble in the first inning,
06:48then I may be able to – I may be able to ride it out.
06:51But I just – I think it's less about the two guys and it's more about what can we do
06:58to get MI the work that he needs
07:00and not cost us games or burn down our bullpen.
07:04Get him work as a non-starter.
07:07I think he would be really good.
07:08So you've reached a point where his contract does not matter at all.
07:12Well, no, I just think he – I think he would benefit greatly for a quick stint in the bullpen
07:17and to work some things out.
07:18I just say that because I think a clear reason why he has remained in the rotation
07:25is because of the amount of money they're paying him.
