00:00:00Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
00:00:16Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
00:00:20as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
00:00:30Amen.
00:00:56There we go.
00:00:57Good morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome in the Solemnity of the Christian Family.
00:01:03Let's begin with our morning prayer found on page B9 of your White Pew prayer books.
00:01:09Page B9.
00:01:12O Lord, open my lips.
00:01:16O God of love and mercy, grant us with all your people rest in peace.
00:01:22Great is the Lord, worthy of all praise.
00:01:25Amen.
00:01:25Praise and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor, power and might be to our God forever and ever.
00:01:34Amen.
00:01:35Be merciful to me, O God.
00:01:37Be merciful to me.
00:01:39For in you my soul takes refuge.
00:01:42In the shadow of your wings I will take refuge.
00:01:46Until the destroying storms pass by.
00:01:49I cry to God, most high, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
00:01:55He will send from heaven and save me.
00:01:57He will put to shame those who trample on me.
00:02:01God will send forth his steadfast love and his faithfulness.
00:02:05Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
00:02:09I watch this morning for the light that the darkness has not overcome.
00:02:20I watch for the fire that was in the beginning and that burns still in the brilliance of the rising sun.
00:02:27I watch for the glow of life that gleams in the growing earth and glistens in sea and sky.
00:02:33I watch for your light, O God, in the eyes of every living creature and in the eve living flame of my own soul.
00:02:42If the grace we're seeing were mine this day, I would glimpse you in all that lives.
00:02:48Grant me the grace of seeing this day.
00:02:51Grant me the grace of seeing.
00:02:53A reading taken from the beginning of the Holy Gospel according to St. John.
00:02:57In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
00:03:03He was with God in the beginning.
00:03:05Through him all things are made.
00:03:07Without him nothing was made that has been made.
00:03:10In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
00:03:15The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
00:03:20This is the Word of the Lord.
00:03:22Thanks be to God.
00:03:23Lord, have mercy.
00:03:25Lord, have mercy.
00:03:27Christ, have mercy.
00:03:28Christ, have mercy.
00:03:29Lord, have mercy.
00:03:31Lord, have mercy.
00:03:33Let us once again hold up in prayer and petition all those who have asked for our prayers,
00:03:37for their health and for their healing,

00:05:11We bind all of these prayers together before God our Father in the words Jesus taught us.
00:05:16Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
00:05:21Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
00:05:26Give us this day our daily bread.
00:05:28And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
00:05:34And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
00:05:38Amen.
00:05:39Let us pray.
00:05:40Lord, you have called us to serve you.
00:05:44Grant that we may walk in your presence, your love in our hearts, your truth in our minds,
00:05:50your strength in our wills.
00:05:52Until at the end of our journey, we know the joy of our homecoming.
00:05:56And the welcome of your embrace.
00:05:59Through Christ our Lord.
00:06:00Amen.
00:06:01The peace of the Lord be with you always.
00:06:06Well, good morning, everyone.
00:06:08Beautiful Sunday morning.
00:06:12A little fall-ish weather is very nice, very comfortable.
00:06:17A few quick announcements.
00:06:19Nothing, announcements really haven't changed that much over the past few weeks.
00:06:22But please remember we have our fall soup sale going on.
00:06:26I just brought in some greens with beans and harizo and a lot of other great soups in there.
00:06:33So please let your friends and family know.
00:06:36And we were talking, I was talking with Denise before, and it's so nice on a Sunday if you need to,
00:06:42just to grab a quart of soup and take it home and heat it up and have that beautiful fall comfort food.
00:06:49So really nice.
00:06:51And thank you to all who are preparing soups and bringing them in for sale.
00:06:56Again, trip to Scranton.
00:07:00There's a sign-up sheet.
00:07:01Looks like we'll be doing that in the spring.
00:07:05Our next pierogi making day for our winter pierogi sale will be October 23rd.
00:07:11Paul, do you know what time we'll be starting?
00:07:16What time?
00:07:18Nine.
00:07:18Nine?
00:07:19Nine a.m.?
00:07:19Okay, good.
00:07:21So about 9 a.m. on the 23rd, which is a Thursday, I think.
00:07:27Yeah.
00:07:27So please sign up for that and help out.
00:07:31And if you've never made pierogi before, join in and you've learned something.
00:07:36It's kind of fun.
00:07:37We always have a good time when we make pierogi.
00:07:39It's nice to play some music.
00:07:42We have great fellowship.
00:07:44Other reminders, Schenecte Social Club Breakfast schedules on the back bulletin board.
00:07:52Please remember to call by Thursday at 2 p.m. if you are attending to make a reservation.
00:07:58This coming Saturday is the Pierogi 5K, sponsored by the Polish-American Congress, Central New York Division.
00:08:06So please help out with that.
00:08:10Please see Paul if you can help out.
00:08:13Or just come and be present.
00:08:15You know, talk to people about our church, our family of faith, the wonderful things we do here to witness to Christ in Schenectady.
00:08:25People want to know, you know, so it's a good opportunity to let them know.
00:08:30Blah, blah, blah.
00:08:31And we have rosary on Wednesday.
00:08:33I think, Lauren, you're going to lead rosary this coming Wednesday.
00:08:39Because I will be in Buffalo.
00:08:40I'm leaving pretty much after Mass to head to Buffalo.
00:08:44We have our National Clergy Conference.
00:08:47That always happens about a year before we have our Holy Synod of the Church.
00:08:53So we'll be getting together with all my brother priests in Buffalo at Holy Mother of the Rosary Cathedral.
00:09:00It will be nice just to join together and to learn some new things and to cover some new ground.
00:09:07So tomorrow, Columbus Day, no food pantry tomorrow because of the national holiday.
00:09:17And again, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, National Clergy Conference.
00:09:21Thursday, Friday, we have Holy Mass.
00:09:23Saturday is the Pierogi 5K in Schenectady Central Park.
00:09:28And then next Sunday, we have our regular Holy Mass schedule, 29th Ordinary Sunday.
00:09:33And then we're back in business again with all the other things we do.
00:09:39With that, oh, could I have the lectors come up, please?
00:09:44I have your new books for the next liturgical year.
00:09:54So, Joe, thank you very much.
00:09:57Lauren, thank you very much.
00:09:58We'll save one for Larry.
00:10:00Put it up here.
00:10:01Thank these wonderful folks in their ministry among us as lectors, proclaiming God's Word.
00:10:09It's a beautiful thing to do.
00:10:11If anybody's interested in doing that, let me know and we'll sign you up.
00:10:16So, thank you very much.
00:10:22All right.
00:10:23Good.
00:10:24With that, let us now rise and begin our worship with song.
00:10:31To thee we come, O Lord, our God.
00:10:43Before thine altar, Father.
00:10:49Thou knowest best our yearning hearts.
00:10:54This supplication and answer.
00:10:59Lift up want thy people, Lord.
00:11:06Bless us, O God.
00:11:09O Father, bless our toil.
00:11:13We ask thee not for bliss in life,
00:11:18nor golden treasure's splendor,
00:11:23but that we enter in the strife,
00:11:29Christ's kingdom to engender.
00:11:35Lift up all in thy people, Lord,
00:11:40and strengthen us.
00:11:43O Father, bless our toil.
00:11:47Under thy cross we stand prepared
00:11:53to serve thee with devotion,
00:11:58be it with sweat of blood or tears
00:12:04or humble resignation.
00:12:09For we thy people are, O Lord.
00:12:15Save us, O God.
00:12:18O Father, bless our toil.
00:12:22Again, good morning, my dear brothers and sisters,
00:12:29and welcome on this special day,
00:12:31this special feast set aside by our Holy Church
00:12:35to honor the Christian family
00:12:38and to call to mind the fact
00:12:40that we are all one family in the blood of Christ.
00:12:45Today's Holy Mass is offered for our brother Daryl,
00:12:48this being the fourth year since his passing.
00:12:53So we are marking that today
00:12:54by offering Holy Mass for the repose of his soul.
00:12:58Today's Holy Mass in the contemporary rite
00:13:01found on page 63 of the Tan Pumissal.
00:13:05In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
00:13:07and of the Holy Spirit.
00:13:09Lord, bless us with the wisdom to praise you
00:13:12in spirit and in truth
00:13:13so that by following your holy will
00:13:15we may gain eternal salvation.
00:13:19My dear brothers and sisters,
00:13:21let's now pause to confess our sins to God
00:13:24and prepare ourselves
00:13:25so that we may worthily participate
00:13:27in this holy sacrifice.
00:13:42I recall our sinfulness
00:13:55and seeking reconciliation with God and each other.
00:13:58Let's now recite the second form of the Confidure
00:14:01found on page 66.
00:14:03I confess to Almighty God
00:14:05in the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
00:14:08all the saints and you,
00:14:10my brothers and sisters,
00:14:12that I have sinned through my own fault
00:14:14in my thoughts, in my words,
00:14:17in what I have done or failed to do.
00:14:20I ask the Blessed Virgin Mary,
00:14:22all the saints and you,
00:14:24my brothers and sisters,
00:14:25to pray for me to the Lord our God.
00:14:28As an act of penance for our sinfulness,
00:14:31let us this evening offer up a Hail Mary
00:14:34for the intention of our parish family
00:14:37and for our own domestic families.
00:14:41May Almighty God have mercy on us,
00:14:43forgive us our sins,
00:14:44and bring us to everlasting life.
00:14:46May our Lord Jesus Christ absolve you
00:14:49with his authority vested in me.
00:14:50I absolve you from all your sins.
00:14:53In the name of the Father and of the Son
00:14:54and of the Holy Spirit.
00:14:57Amen.
00:14:57Whoever does not provide for relatives
00:15:04and especially family members
00:15:07has denied the faith
00:15:08and is worse than an unbeliever.
00:15:11So then, while we have the opportunity,
00:15:15let us do good to all,
00:15:17but especially to those
00:15:18who belong to the family of the faith.
00:15:21Glory be to the Father,
00:15:23and to the Son,
00:15:23and to the Holy Spirit.
00:15:24That was the beginning,
00:15:26is now,
00:15:27and ever shall be,
00:15:28world without end.
00:15:30Amen.
00:15:30Amen.
00:15:32Lord, have mercy.
00:15:38Lord, have mercy.
00:15:42Christ, have mercy.
00:15:46Lord, have mercy.
00:15:52Lord, have mercy.
00:15:55Lord, have mercy.
00:16:04Glory to God in the highest.
00:16:09Peace to us, people.
00:16:10Lord, God, holy, almighty God.
00:16:12Father, we worship you,
00:16:13and give you thanks,
00:16:14and praise you for your glory.
00:16:15Lord Jesus Christ,
00:16:17Holy Son of the Father,
00:16:18Lord God, Lamb of God,
00:16:20you take away the sins of the world.
00:16:22Have mercy on us.
00:16:24You are seated at the right hand of the Father.
00:16:26Receive our prayer.
00:16:28For you'll learn the Holy One.
00:16:29You'll learn the Lord.
00:16:30You'll learn the Most High,
00:16:31Jesus Christ,
00:16:33with the Holy Spirit,
00:16:34and the glory of God the Father.
00:16:36Amen.
00:16:37Praise and thanks be ever given,
00:16:42with and through angelic host,
00:16:47to the God of earth and heaven,
00:16:52Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
00:16:56Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Amen.
00:17:05The Lord be with you.
00:17:12And also with you.
00:17:16Let us pray.
00:17:17God, our Heavenly Father,
00:17:22you have blessed each of us with the gift of family,
00:17:26that through our family life,
00:17:28we may learn to love and care for others.
00:17:32Open our eyes to recognize in all people
00:17:35the bonds of kinship.
00:17:38May we unselfishly serve them,
00:17:41who with us who have been made co-heirs with Christ.
00:17:45We ask this through the same Jesus Christ,
00:17:48who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit,
00:17:52one God, forever and ever.
00:18:00Let us now be seated and attentive to the Lord's Word.
00:18:15Our first reading is a reading from the book of Genesis.
00:18:27Then God said,
00:18:28Let us make human beings in our image,
00:18:31after our likeness.
00:18:33Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
00:18:35the birds of the air,
00:18:37the tame animals,
00:18:38all the wild animals,
00:18:39and all the creatures that crawl on the earth.
00:18:42God created mankind in his image.
00:18:46In the image of God he created them.
00:18:48Male and female he created them.
00:18:51God blessed them and God said to them,
00:18:53Be fertile and multiply.
00:18:56Fill the earth and subdue it.
00:18:58Have dominion over the fish of the sea,
00:19:00the birds of the air,
00:19:01and all the living things that crawl on the earth.
00:19:04God looked at everything he had made
00:19:06and found it very good.
00:19:08Evening came and morning followed the sixth day.
00:19:13This is the word of the Lord.
00:19:15Thanks be to God.
00:19:18Happy are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways.
00:19:22Happy are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways.
00:19:27Happy is everyone who fears the Lord who walks in his ways.
00:19:31You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands.
00:19:34You shall be happy, and it shall go well with you.
00:19:39Happy are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways.
00:19:43Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house.
00:19:47Your children will be like olive shoots around your table.
00:19:51Happy are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways.
00:19:57Thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord.
00:20:00The Lord bless you from Zion.
00:20:02May you see prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
00:20:08Happy are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways.
00:20:14Our second reading is a reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians.
00:20:20Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
00:20:25Honor your father and mother.
00:20:27Father, this is the first commandment with a promise, that it may go well with you, and that you may have long life on the earth.
00:20:35Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up with the training and instruction of the Lord.
00:20:41Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ, not only when being watched, as currying favor, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
00:20:57but willingly serving the Lord, and not human beings, knowing that each will be requited from the Lord for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
00:21:10Masters, act in the same way toward them, and stop bullying, knowing that both they and you have a master in heaven, and that with him there is no partiality.
00:21:23This is the word of the Lord.
00:21:26Thanks be to God.
00:21:47Please rise.
00:21:48Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
00:22:12May the Lord be in my heart and in my lips, and may we proclaim this holy gospel through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
00:22:42The Lord be with you.
00:22:45And also with you.
00:22:46A reading from the holy gospel according to St. Luke.
00:22:50Glory be to you, O Lord.
00:22:52Each year, his parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover.
00:22:58And when he was 12 years old, they went up according to festival custom.
00:23:03After they had completed its days, as they were returning,
00:23:07the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it.
00:23:13Thinking that he was in the caravan, they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances.
00:23:20But not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him.
00:23:25After three days, they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers,
00:23:31listening to them and asking them questions.
00:23:34And all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers.
00:23:39When his parents saw him, they were astonished.
00:23:42And his mother said to him, Son, why have you done this to us?
00:23:47Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.
00:23:50And he said to them, Why were you looking for me?
00:23:54Did you not know that I must be in my father's house?
00:23:58But they did not understand what he said to them.
00:24:01He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them.
00:24:06And his mother kept all these things in her heart.
00:24:09And Jesus advanced in wisdom and age and favor before God and man.
00:24:15This is the gospel of the Lord.
00:24:18Praise be to you, O Lord Jesus Christ.
00:24:32Come, Holy Ghost, Creator blessed.
00:24:39And in our hearts, take up thy rest.
00:24:45Come with thy grace and heavenly aid
00:24:51To fill the hearts which thou hast made.
00:24:57To fill the hearts which thou hast made.
00:25:04Come, Holy Spirit, in your hearts, in thy faith, with the fire of thy love.
00:25:09Did you not know that I must be in my father's house?
00:25:23In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:25:26Amen.
00:25:27My dear brothers and sisters, I think I forgot to reset the counter.
00:25:31I think I said it was nine weeks last week.
00:25:34I don't remember.
00:25:35Was it nine weeks last week or was it eight?
00:25:37Well, anyway.
00:25:38For a lot of weeks, we've been covering the various ways that we have been taught by Jesus Christ to live.
00:25:47It is our guide to good living.
00:25:50Our guide to right living.
00:25:52And it's found in the gospel of our Lord and Savior.
00:25:56This guide to right living over this nine or ten weeks, whatever it's been,
00:26:01has laid out the following points.
00:26:04That we are to love.
00:26:07That we are to put our faith on full display.
00:26:11That we are to be resolved in all we do.
00:26:15That we are to be honest, not just nice.
00:26:18We are to discipline ourselves.
00:26:22We are to place our faith and trust in Christ and in what he taught us because his lessons were indeed meant for us.
00:26:31We are to exhibit our faith in the small things we do each day.
00:26:37We are to have humility and charity.
00:26:41We are to properly count what is important and to value those things.
00:26:46We are to forgive and love.
00:26:50We are to be smart about our faith.
00:26:53We are to stay simple and honest and have common sense about our faith.
00:27:01We are to realize that there are eternal consequences for the choices we make in life.
00:27:08For what we decide day to day.
00:27:11Those things do not just go away.
00:27:13There are consequences.
00:27:17And we are to see that we are called and that we are given actual power to go above and beyond.
00:27:26To do not just natural things, but supernatural things.
00:27:31Now this guide to good living is also the perfect recipe for family life, isn't it?
00:27:37We are to do nice things to each other.
00:27:40Keep it simple and in small ways make each other feel valued and loved.
00:27:46Each of these things we can walk through them and say,
00:27:48Yeah, I see.
00:27:49This applies to my family life.
00:27:52Now today, we kind of take a step back a little bit because we are sort of back in the beginning of the gospel according to St. Luke.
00:28:03And we are reading part of the infancy and young childhood narrative about Jesus.
00:28:10His parents go to Jerusalem.
00:28:11They go up to the temple.
00:28:13Jesus stays behind.
00:28:14They look for him with anxiety.
00:28:15They find him in the temple.
00:28:17And he says, I need to be here.
00:28:20I need to be in my father's house.
00:28:23Of course, we literally, and Mary and Joseph literally saw that his father's house was the temple.
00:28:30This is what he was talking about.
00:28:34But there is more to the story.
00:28:36Now, consider our homes, right?
00:28:41Our own homes.
00:28:42Are they just buildings?
00:28:46Are they just a building?
00:28:49Some wood?
00:28:50Maybe we have brick?
00:28:54Drywall?
00:28:56Plaster?
00:28:57Paint?
00:28:59Decor?
00:29:01Decorations?
00:29:02Moldings?
00:29:03All those sorts of things that make up the house.
00:29:08Are they simply something that we have?
00:29:12Something that we own?
00:29:13And something that, well, I can part with it tomorrow.
00:29:16Who cares?
00:29:16I'll move somewhere else.
00:29:19Right?
00:29:19Anybody who's ever had a house and then subsequently sold the house,
00:29:24and that is not an easy process by any shade of the imagination,
00:29:29knows that it's not easy.
00:29:30Because in our homes, we have something that's so important and so beautiful, right?
00:29:40I would say for most of us, our homes are more than just a building.
00:29:46They are repositories of memory.
00:29:49They are notches on doorposts marking the growth of our children.
00:29:56They are those other little things in the house that we see with our mind's eye,
00:30:02with our own memories, with our hearts, right?
00:30:07We see mom at the counter, at the stove, preparing Thanksgiving dinner, right?
00:30:13Oh, that's how she made it.
00:30:14No, I figured it out.
00:30:15Making those pierogi, maybe, kluski, galumki, you know, empanadas, maybe.
00:30:24Whatever, right?
00:30:26Great spaghetti.
00:30:28Whatever it was.
00:30:29That good stuff.
00:30:32We see our dads coming home from a hard day of work, coming through the door.
00:30:38And if you're as old as I am, right, you remember getting up in the morning and having to go
00:30:45outside to get the milk from the milk box, because they delivered it very early in the
00:30:50morning, and go out and get the paper in the evening, because that's when we got our paper.
00:30:57In Buffalo, we had two papers.
00:30:58We had the Courier Express and the Buffalo Evening News.
00:31:01My father worked for the Buffalo Evening News.
00:31:04So that was the evening paper, Courier Express was the morning paper.
00:31:12Our homes, our recollection, and they are a nursery.
00:31:18They are a nursery for the future.
00:31:21They are what Jesus wants us to perceive within his father's house, within his father's home,
00:31:31with all of us joined together as family in both that recollection and in that nursery
00:31:39of faith, joined together in his body and in his blood, joined together in his house as
00:31:49one family.
00:31:51Our memories focus together on what Jesus taught us, right?
00:31:55That's our memory, right?
00:31:56Those are the things, the ways Jesus showed us how to live, our guide for good living,
00:32:02our guide to family life, how he taught us to live.
00:32:08And that nursery is more than just, well, we have the School of Christian Living, Sunday
00:32:14School, we have catechetical studies for First Communion and Confirmation.
00:32:19Certainly, that's part of the nursery, but all of us are in the nursery, right?
00:32:26We're all learning, each and every day we're learning to grow into the image of Jesus' Heavenly
00:32:32Father, to be like him.
00:32:38That's a life's journey.
00:32:41And that life's journey happens in a house, in a home, in God's home.
00:32:46Let us, then, as Jesus said, say that we must be in the house of the Lord.
00:32:56This is where I must be, so that I might grow and recollect.
00:33:03We always say, blood is thicker than water.
00:33:08Well, consider the blood of Jesus shed for us.
00:33:11That stuff is like cement, right?
00:33:14And that binds us together, and holds us together, covers us in his love, and in his mercy, and
00:33:24makes us one family, bound together in his blood.
00:33:29We are that family in the house of the Lord.
00:33:33In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:33:36Amen.
00:33:36Amen.
00:33:37Amen.
00:33:37Amen.
00:33:44Let us now rise and together profess our faith.
00:33:59I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.
00:34:07I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
00:34:15God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father.
00:34:23Through him all things are made for us and for our salvation.
00:34:27He came down from heaven by the power of the Holy Spirit.
00:34:31He was born of the Virgin Mary and became man.
00:34:36For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate.
00:34:40He suffered death and was buried.
00:34:43On the third day, he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures.
00:34:47He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
00:34:52He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
00:34:58I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father.
00:35:05With the Father and the Son, he is worshipped and glorified.
00:35:09He has spoken through the prophets.
00:35:11I believe in one holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church.
00:35:15I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
00:35:19I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
00:35:24Amen.
00:35:25The Lord be with you.
00:35:26The love of God has burst forth in the coming of Christ.
00:35:33Let us pray that the Church, a family of faith, will abide in love.
00:35:38The response to our petitions will be, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:35:42For our prime bishop and Bishop Anthony, and all our bishops,
00:35:46that they may receive your grace and blessing
00:35:48as they lead our holy Church to your greater glory and honor,
00:35:53let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:35:57That our worship of God will deepen our bonds of unity as brothers and sisters in faith.
00:36:03Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:36:07That the humanity of Jesus will help us to value the human dignity of every person.
00:36:14Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:36:18That adult children will clothe their elderly parents with kindness, respect, and care.
00:36:24Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:36:28That respect for parents and those in authority will take root in young children.
00:36:34Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:36:38That family harmony will be safeguarded through each member's willingness to be an instrument of peace and goodwill.
00:36:46Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:36:50That the good news of salvation may be shared in our communities and our world
00:36:55through our life and devotion to Christ and His holy Church.
00:36:59Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:37:02That the love of God will be evident in how we choose to live our lives.
00:37:08Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:37:11We pray, God, a family life that parents will have the generosity of heart
00:37:17to encourage their sons to discern your call to the sacred ministry
00:37:21and the commitment to help them respond accordingly.
00:37:25Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:37:29That the sick and suffering may find comfort in the presence of Christ
00:37:33through our love and concern for them.
00:37:36Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:37:40That the dead who have acclaimed Christ as God's revealing light
00:37:44will be found praising God in the heavenly temple,
00:37:48especially our brother Daryl, for whom this holy mass is being offered.
00:37:52Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:37:56God of enduring kindness, hear our prayers.
00:38:00In Christ you call us to be a family of faith.
00:38:04May we be enriched in wisdom and love and know your help in time of trial.
00:38:09Grant our prayers through your Son, Jesus Christ.
00:38:15Please be seated.
00:38:16Grandchildren are the crown of old men,
00:38:26and the glory of children is their parentage.
00:38:29God of enduring kindness.
00:38:41I will give it a prayer.
00:38:43Let us pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:38:54By the mystery of this wine,
00:39:10and water,
00:39:15we've been sure to be a Christ of all himself
00:39:17to share in our humanity.
00:39:24Bless you, we're going to walk
00:39:28through the divine work of human hands
00:39:31and become our spiritual drink.
00:39:45We're going to bless you, we're going to bless you,
00:39:46we're going to bless you, we're going to bless you,
00:39:47with humble and contrite hearts,
00:39:49and the Holy Spirit, and bless you,
00:39:51and bless you, we're prepared for the glory of your holy name.
00:39:54Lord, wash me iniquity, cleanse me from all my sin.
00:40:12Receive this offering, most holy trinity,
00:40:14which make in memory of the passion,
00:40:16resurrection, and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ,
00:40:19and in honor of the blessed Virgin Mary and all the saints,
00:40:21may they whose memory we honor on earth
00:40:24intercede for us in heaven.
00:40:27Pray, my brothers and sisters,
00:40:29that our sacrifice may be acceptable to God,
00:40:31the Almighty Father.
00:40:33May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands,
00:40:36and for the praise and glory of his name,
00:40:38and for our good and the good of the good of his holy church.
00:40:41Amen.
00:40:42Almighty Father, accept this offering from your whole family.
00:40:51Bless all your children with an obedient spirit.
00:40:55May each home which nurtures them be an image of your kingdom,
00:40:59and the care of their parents, the likeness of your love.
00:41:04We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ,
00:41:08who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit,
00:41:11one God forever and ever.
00:41:18The Lord be with you.
00:41:22And also with you.
00:41:26Lift up your hearts.
00:41:31We lift them up to the Lord.
00:41:36Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
00:41:40It is right to give thanks and praise.
00:41:47Father, all-powerful and ever-living God,
00:41:51we do well to sing your praises.
00:41:56Your work of creation brought forth life
00:42:00and crowned its goodness by creating the human family.
00:42:06You sent your Son into the world
00:42:08to teach us the sanctity of human love
00:42:11and show us the value of family life.
00:42:16You call us to live in peace with you and one another
00:42:19and to unite our families in peace and love.
00:42:25In our unending joy,
00:42:27we echo on earth the song of your angels in heaven
00:42:31in proclaiming your glory.
00:42:34O God of hosts,
00:42:49heavens and the earth are full of the majesty of thy glory.
00:42:57Hosanna in the highest.
00:43:03Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
00:43:11Hosanna in the highest.
00:43:17Today's Eucharistic prayer is the Old Catholic Canon,
00:43:20found on page 88.
00:43:22Please kneel.
00:43:23Blessed are you,
00:43:30Lord of all majesty and King of eternal glory,
00:43:34through your only begotten Son,
00:43:35Jesus Christ.
00:43:37In him your word was made flesh.
00:43:39In him the fullness of your grace
00:43:41was revealed in splendor.
00:43:43In all things he fulfilled your will
00:43:44and glorified your name.
00:43:46He proclaimed your kingdom to us.
00:43:48He broke the power of darkness over us.
00:43:51He took our guilt upon himself.
00:43:54He reconciled us to you
00:43:55and unlocked the new paradise for us.
00:43:58As the way, the truth, and the life,
00:44:00he has revealed your love to us.
00:44:02He humbled himself
00:44:03and became obedient even to death on a cross
00:44:06and by rising restored our life.
00:44:12On the night in which he was betrayed
00:44:14to undergo that suffering
00:44:16which he himself had chosen,
00:44:18he took bread into his hands
00:44:20and lifting up his eyes to you,
00:44:23his heavenly Father,
00:44:24he gave thanks.
00:44:26He blessed the bread,
00:44:28broke it,
00:44:29and gave it to his disciples saying,
00:44:32Take this, all of you,
00:44:35and eat it,
00:44:36for this is my body
00:44:38which is given for you.
00:44:40When separate ended,
00:44:58he took the cup
00:44:59and gave thanks to you.
00:45:01He blessed it
00:45:02and gave it to his disciples saying,
00:45:05Take this, all of you,
00:45:08and drink from it,
00:45:09for this is the cup of my blood,
00:45:12the blood of the new
00:45:13and everlasting covenant,
00:45:15which shall be shed for you
00:45:16and for many
00:45:17for the forgiveness of sins.
00:45:19As often as you do this,
00:45:21do it in remembrance of me.
00:45:23Your death, Lord Jesus,
00:45:40we proclaim,
00:45:41your resurrection we celebrate,
00:45:44your return in glory we await.
00:45:47Therefore, Father,
00:45:47remember his saving passion,
00:45:49his glorious resurrection,
00:45:51and his exaltation
00:45:52at your right hand.
00:45:54We await his coming
00:45:55in the fullness of majesty.
00:45:57We here set forth
00:45:58this sign of our faith in him
00:45:59who offered you
00:46:00the perfect sacrifice
00:46:02and gained for us
00:46:03eternal salvation.
00:46:06Send your Holy Spirit,
00:46:08the giver of life and holiness,
00:46:09upon us and upon these gifts,
00:46:12the bread and wine
00:46:13of eternal life.
00:46:15Holy Spirit,
00:46:16come to us,
00:46:17fill us with your gift of grace.
00:46:19Take these gifts
00:46:20from our hands, Lord God,
00:46:22as an acceptable sacrifice
00:46:24through which we offer
00:46:25ourselves to you
00:46:26so that the bread
00:46:27which we break
00:46:28and the cup which we bless
00:46:30may be a sharing
00:46:31in the body and blood
00:46:32of your Son.
00:46:34May all who receive
00:46:35from your heavenly altar
00:46:36always remain united with you,
00:46:38together with all your saints
00:46:39and chosen ones,
00:46:41with the blessed
00:46:41and glorious Virgin Mary,
00:46:43the Mother of our Lord,

00:46:46with your martyrs
00:46:47and confessors,
00:46:48with all who stand
00:46:49about your throne
00:46:50in praise and prayer.
00:46:52Grant also, Lord,
00:46:53a share in that glory
00:46:54to the departed
00:46:56and to those
00:46:57whom we remember
00:46:58before you
00:46:59and especially
00:47:00for our brother Daryl.
00:47:01deal with him
00:47:07and with all people
00:47:07according to your
00:47:08merciful kindness
00:47:09and let perpetual light
00:47:10shine upon them.
00:47:12Remember also
00:47:13your servants on earth
00:47:14for whom we invoke
00:47:15your mercy,
00:47:16especially for our
00:47:17parish family
00:47:18and for each of our
00:47:19individual families
00:47:21that they may be
00:47:22sustained,
00:47:24strengthened
00:47:24and filled
00:47:25with your love.
00:47:27Bless your church
00:47:28throughout the world,
00:47:30grant it unity
00:47:30and peace.
00:47:31Renew the earth
00:47:32according to your promise.
00:47:34Remember all peoples
00:47:35and grant that all nations
00:47:36may give you thanks,
00:47:37worshiping and praising
00:47:38your holy name.
00:47:40We ask this
00:47:41through Jesus Christ,
00:47:42your Son,
00:47:43our Lord.
00:47:47Through him,
00:47:48with him,
00:47:49in him,
00:47:50in the unity
00:47:51of the Holy Spirit,
00:47:53all honor and glory
00:47:54are yours,
00:47:55Almighty Father,
00:47:56forever and ever.
00:47:59Let us now rise
00:48:07and pray with confidence
00:48:08to the Father
00:48:09in the words
00:48:10our Savior gave us.
00:48:13Father who art in heaven,
00:48:20hallowed be thy name.
00:48:23Thy kingdom come,
00:48:28thy will be done
00:48:31on earth as it is in heaven.
00:48:38Give us this day
00:48:42our daily bread
00:48:45and forgive us
00:48:49our trespasses
00:48:51as we forgive those
00:48:55who trespass against us
00:48:58and lead us not
00:49:02into temptation,
00:49:04but deliver us
00:49:08from evil.
00:49:12Deliver us, Lord,
00:49:13from every evil
00:49:14and grant us peace
00:49:15in our day.
00:49:17In your mercy,
00:49:18keep us free from sin
00:49:20and protect us
00:49:22from all anxiety
00:49:23as we wait
00:49:25in joyful hope
