00:00:39Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
00:00:42who was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
00:01:30Good morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome on the Solemnity of Brotherly Love.

00:01:45Blessed be the Lord our God, the King of the universe, now and always and forever and ever. Amen.
00:01:52O Lord, open my lips and my mouth shall declare your praise.
00:01:56Creation itself shares the glorious freedom of the children of God.
00:02:02Let the earth and all that is in it praise the greatness of the Lord.
00:02:06Let man do all within his power to extol the glory of God's name.
00:02:12Let the towering mountains bless the Lord with the forest and the lowly hills.
00:02:17Let the flowers and the plants bless the Lord, every growing thing that the earth yields.
00:02:23Bless the Lord, all flowing fountains which spring from far below the earth.
00:02:29Bless the Lord, seas and rivers whose waters carry the ships of men.
00:02:35Bless the Lord, you fish and sea monsters, all creatures living in the waters.
00:02:40Bless the Lord, all you winged creatures who fly the heavens majestically.
00:02:46Bless the Lord, all you animals, those which are wild and those which serve men.
00:02:51Bless the Lord, all you human creatures and praise his goodness eternally.
00:02:57O Israel, bless your God continually forever and ever.
00:03:01Praise his greatness.
00:03:03Bless the Lord, all you his priests.
00:03:06Bless him faithfully, all you his servants.
00:03:09Bless the Lord, all you holy souls.
00:03:11You who are humble, love him.
00:03:14Let everyone sing to God's glory and praise him from the present moment until eternity.
00:03:20Let us bless the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one blessed Trinity.
00:03:26Blessed are you, Lord, in the highest heavens, you who reign supreme over all creation.
00:03:33Holy God, as you rest among the saints, the seraphim praise you, the cherubim sing your glory,
00:03:38and all the powers of heaven and earth fall down before you.
00:03:42Allow us, sinful as we are, to stand before your holy altar
00:03:45and to offer you the praise and worship you deserve.
00:03:49Pardon our sins and sanctify us by the merits of Jesus Christ, our Savior,
00:03:54who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever.
00:04:00Amen.
00:04:00A reading taken from Matthew's Gospel.
00:04:03One of the Pharisees, a teacher of law, tried to trap him with a question.
00:04:08Teacher, he asked, which is the greatest commandment in the law?
00:04:12Jesus answered, you must love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
00:04:17with all your mind.
00:04:19This is the greatest and most important commandment.
00:04:22The second most important commandment is like it.
00:04:25You must love your neighbor as yourself.
00:04:28The whole law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets depend on these two commandments.
00:04:34Wake up, sleeper, and rise from the dead.
00:04:36Let us once again hold up in prayer and petition all those who have asked for our prayers,
00:04:52for their health and for their healing, or for any special need,
00:04:56that God, the Father of mercy, through his Son, Jesus, may grant them all that is needful to them.

00:06:18This we remember and pray for in a special way.
00:06:20The people and the clergy of Holy Name of Jesus Parish in South Deerfield, Massachusetts.
00:06:27We hold up all these prayers before God the Father in the words Jesus taught us.
00:06:32Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
00:06:36Thy kingdom come.
00:06:38Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
00:06:41Give us this day our daily bread.
00:06:44And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
00:06:50And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
00:06:55Amen.
00:06:55Lord God Almighty, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
00:07:01Direct our hearts and bodies in the love of God and the patience of Christ.

00:07:13Amen.
00:07:14Well, good morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to the Solemnity of Brotherly Love.
00:07:22Let us, a few brief announcements.
00:07:26Please remember the notice about Social Security.
00:07:29It was also in your monthly newsletters.
00:07:32The Social Security Administration has determined that it will no longer send any paper checks whatsoever.
00:07:41So if you, not many people receive paper checks anymore.
00:07:45But if you do, you have to get, you have to switch to direct deposit or some other electronic means by the end of this month.
00:07:53So please take note of that and contact the Social Security Administration if you need to make that switch.
00:08:03Our fall soup sale, please make some soup, bring it in.
00:08:07We'll put it in the freezer.
00:08:09There are free containers for you downstairs.
00:08:12Take as many as you need.
00:08:14Thank you definitely to Lindy who's already brought in some.
00:08:18It looks really good.
00:08:19So, and then we'll put that up for sale in the coming weeks and months.
00:08:25Our trip to Scranton, if you are interested, there's a sign-up sheet downstairs.
00:08:30We should probably get together and try to figure out a date because all the dates are closing up pretty fast for this fall.
00:08:40Other reminders, the Schenecte Social Club Breakfast.
00:08:43The schedule is posted on the back bulletin board.
00:08:46And please remember to call by Thursday at 2 p.m. if you are attending so that they can have sufficient provision for everyone.
00:08:56The Pierogi 5K coming up on October 18th.
00:09:00We're going to sell some food there.
00:09:02So please take note of that.
00:09:04And if you can, please help.
00:09:06And we'll hold a Pierogi making day sometime this fall as well.
00:09:11So lots of things going on.
00:09:13I was able to spend some time at seminary this week.
00:09:20It was a wonderful experience.
00:09:22A lot of very hard work was done.
00:09:25And a lot of prayer was engaged in.
00:09:29So it was a great experience.
00:09:33It was wonderful to be there with the men.
00:09:35And just really looking forward to the year ahead for everyone.
00:09:42It's really blessed.
00:09:44Really blessed.
00:09:45And please continue in your prayers and support of the seminary.
00:09:49If you have any questions, please see me.
00:09:53Please take note of our schedule for the week ahead.
00:09:55Tomorrow is the translated solemnity of the exaltation of the Holy Cross.
00:10:00Tuesday is the translated solemnity of Holy Mother of Sorrows.
00:10:05And then Holy Mass during the week.
00:10:07And a regular Holy Mass scheduled next Sunday for the 25th Ordinary Sunday.
00:10:13A couple other notes.
00:10:15Please keep our sister Ronnie in your prayers.
00:10:18She had a little bit of a fall.
00:10:20Nothing super serious.
00:10:22But she is definitely in need of our prayers and support.
00:10:27And on a much, much sadder note, our dear sister Shantia, who lives three doors down.
00:10:34You know Emily's daughter.
00:10:37They've come to church here fairly regularly.
00:10:41She passed away on Friday.
00:10:44We don't have any information on the arrangements yet.
00:10:47We will have a service here in her memory for her eternal repose.
00:10:54So please stay tuned for any information we have on that.
00:10:59I'm trying to work things out with the family.
00:11:02And as her mom Emily told me in her text to me that, you know, Shantia really loved and admired this parish.
00:11:11She felt at home here and she'll be dearly, dearly missed both as a sister in Christ and as a neighbor.
00:11:22So eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.
00:11:26And may the perpetual light shine upon her.
00:11:29May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
00:11:34Amen.
00:11:35With that, let us now write.
00:11:39Yes.
00:11:39We'll give it a shot and see how it works out.
00:12:06So number, it's number eight on page 16 in this white Sung Ordinaries book in your pew.
00:12:18Let us now rise and begin our worship with song.
00:12:26For the beauty of the earth, for the glory of the skies.
00:12:42Lord of all to thee we raise this hymn of grateful praise.
00:13:01Lord of all to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.
00:13:31For thy selfless gift divine to our race, for thy selfless gift divine to our race so freely given.
00:13:41For that great, great love of thine, peace on earth and joy in heaven.
00:13:50Lord of all to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.
00:14:01Good morning, my dear brothers and sisters and welcome to the solemnity of brotherly love.
00:14:09In 1923, as our church faced persecution, hatred, and violence, the church decided to respond to that persecution, hatred, and violence,
00:14:23not by retribution, but rather by love, by instituting this solemnity of brotherly love.
00:14:31So let us, as we reflect today, consider our responses to the negativity in our world today, not with retribution, but with love.
00:14:42Today's holy mass in the contemporary rite is offered for all of the members of Spoonia, of the Spoonia Board,
00:14:51and all of the work and benefactors of Spoonia Incorporated, which cares for the assets of the Bishop Hoder Retreat and Recreation Center
00:15:04and many programs throughout our holy church.
00:15:07We begin in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:15:12Amen.
00:15:12Lord, bless us with the wisdom to praise you in spirit and in truth,
00:15:16so that by following your holy will, we may gain eternal salvation.
00:15:21Amen.
00:15:22My dear brothers and sisters, let's now pause, confess our sins to God,
00:15:26and prepare ourselves so that we may worthily participate in this holy sacrifice.
00:15:37I recall our sinfulness.
00:15:52In seeking reconciliation with God and each other, let us now recite the second form of the confiter as our confession.
00:15:59I confess to Almighty God in the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the saints, and you, my brothers and sisters,
00:16:09that I have sinned through my own fault in my thoughts, in my words, in what I have done or failed to do.
00:16:17I ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.
00:16:26As an act of penance for our sinfulness, let us offer up in our Father this evening, before we go to bed,
00:16:34asking for his grace to love more fully each and every day.
00:16:40May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
00:16:45Amen.
00:16:46And may our Lord Jesus Christ absolve you, and with his authority vested in me,
00:16:50I do absolve you from all your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:16:56Amen.
00:16:59Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God.
00:17:05Everyone who loves is begotten by God, and knows God.
00:17:10In this way, the love of God was revealed to us.
00:17:14God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might have life through him.
00:17:20Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
00:17:24As it was in the beginning, it is not in the beginning, it shall be.
00:17:28Lord have mercy.
00:17:29Lord have mercy.
00:17:40Lord have mercy.
00:17:45Christ have mercy.
00:17:50Christ have mercy.
00:17:54Let us now rise and give glory to God.
00:18:09Glory to God in the highest.
00:18:13Christ, and peace to his people on earth, Lord God, holy King, almighty God, Father,
00:18:19worship you, and do things, and praise you for your glory, Lord Jesus Christ.
00:18:23Only single Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world,
00:18:28have mercy on us.
00:18:30We are seated at the right hand of the Father.
00:18:32Receive our prayer.
00:18:34For you alone are the Holy One, and you alone are the Lord, and you alone are the Most High,
00:18:38Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, and the glory of God the Father.
00:18:42Thanks be ever given, with and through angelic host, to the God of earth and heaven, Father,
00:18:57Son, and Holy Ghost.
00:19:02Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Amen.
00:19:12The Lord be with you, and also with you, let us pray.
00:19:23Almighty Father, through Jesus Christ you revealed that the greatest law is love of you and our neighbors.
00:19:32Inflame our hearts with the fire of your holy love, and so strengthen our love for one another.
00:19:42We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
00:19:49one God, forever and ever.
00:19:55Amen.
00:19:56Let us now be seated and attentive to the Lord's Word.
00:20:01A reading from the book of the prophet Jeremiah.
00:20:28See, days are coming, oracle of the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house
00:20:38of Israel and the house of Judah.
00:20:42It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors the day I took them by the
00:20:49hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt.
00:20:53They broke my covenant, though I was their master, oracle of the Lord, but this is the
00:21:03covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days.
00:21:10Oracle of the Lord, I will place my law within them and write it upon their hearts.
00:21:17I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
00:21:23They will no longer teach their friends and relatives, know the Lord.
00:21:29Everyone, from the least to the greatest, shall know me, oracle of the Lord, for I will forgive
00:21:38their inequity and no longer remember their sin.
00:21:44The word of the Lord.
00:21:46Thanks be to God.
00:21:52Our responsorial psalm today is,
00:21:56One who does justice will live in the presence of the Lord.
00:22:00One who does justice will live in the presence of the Lord.
00:22:05Whoever walks blamelessly and does justice, who thinks the truth in their heart, and slanders
00:22:15not with his tongue.
00:22:18One who does justice will live in the presence of the Lord.
00:22:23Who harms not his fellow man, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor, by whom the
00:22:32reprobate is despised, while he honors those who fear the Lord.
00:22:38One who does justice will live in the presence of the Lord.
00:22:43Who lends not his money at usury, and accepts no bribe against this innocent?
00:22:52Whoever does these things shall never be disturbed.
00:22:56One who knows justice will live in the presence of the Lord.
00:23:03A reading from the first letter of St. John.
00:23:07Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God.
00:23:14Everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God.
00:23:20Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love.
00:23:25In this way, the love of God was revealed to us.
00:23:31God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might have life through him.
00:23:39The word of the Lord.
00:23:41Thanks be to God.
00:23:55Please rise.
00:24:04Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
00:24:15Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
00:24:27This I command you, love one another as I love you.
00:24:33Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
00:24:48May the Lord be my heart and my lips and my worthy proclaim this holy gospel through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
00:24:54The Lord be with you.
00:24:59And also with you.
00:25:01A reading from the holy gospel according to St. Luke.
00:25:04Glory be to you, O Lord.
00:25:06There was a scholar of the law who stood up to test him and said,
00:25:11Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?
00:25:15Jesus said to him,
00:25:17What is written in the law?
00:25:19How do you read it?
00:25:21He said in reply,
00:25:22You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
00:25:25with all your being,
00:25:27with all your strength,
00:25:28and with all your mind,
00:25:30and your neighbor as yourself.
00:25:32He replied to him,
00:25:34You have answered correctly.
00:25:36Do this, and you will live.
00:25:38But because he wished to justify himself,
00:25:41he said to Jesus,
00:25:42And who is my neighbor?
00:25:44Jesus replied,
00:25:46A man fell victim to robbers as he went down from Jerusalem to Jericho.
00:25:52They stripped and beat him and went off, leaving him half dead.
00:25:56A priest happened to be going down the road,
00:25:59but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.
00:26:03Likewise, a Levite came to the place,
00:26:06and when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.
00:26:10But a Samaritan traveler who came upon him
00:26:13was moved with compassion at the sight.
00:26:16He approached the victim,
00:26:18poured oil and wine over his wounds,
00:26:20and bandaged them.
00:26:22Then he lifted him up on his own animal,
00:26:24took him to an inn,
00:26:25and cared for him.
00:26:27The next day,
00:26:28he took out two silver coins,
00:26:30and gave them to the innkeeper with the instruction,
00:26:34Take care of him.
00:26:34If you spend more than what I have given you,
00:26:38I shall repay you on my way back.
00:26:41Which of these three,
00:26:42in your opinion,
00:26:43was neighbor to the robber's victim?
00:26:45He answered,
00:26:46The one who treated him with mercy.
00:26:49Jesus said to him,
00:26:51Go and do likewise.
00:26:53This is the gospel of the Lord.
00:26:57Praise be to you,
00:26:58O Lord Jesus Christ.
00:27:00O Lord Jesus Christ.
00:27:30Your sevenfold gifts upon us,
00:27:35As we hear your word,
00:27:39Mo Salam,
00:27:41Teach our hearts to know your wisdom,
00:27:46As we hear your word,
00:27:50Mo Salam,
00:27:52Teach our hearts to know your wisdom.
00:27:57Come, Holy Spirit,
00:27:59Give our hearts to thy faith,
00:28:00With the fire of thy love.
00:28:01May this Eucharist,
00:28:15Which is a pledge and sign of your love for us,
00:28:18Help us to draw closer to you,
00:28:21And one another.
00:28:22Help us to forgive the faults of our brothers and sisters,
00:28:26As you have promised to forgive us.
00:28:29In the name of the Father,
00:28:30And of the Son,
00:28:31And of the Holy Spirit.
00:28:32Amen.
00:28:33My dear brothers and sisters,
00:28:35Over the past now five weeks,
00:28:38We have reflected on the love of God,
00:28:42The love of Jesus for us,
00:28:44Our call to love one another,
00:28:47To put our faith on full display,
00:28:51To be resolved in all the things that we do,
00:28:54And to be honest,
00:28:56And to be honest,
00:28:56Not just nice.
00:28:59We recounted the call to discipline ourselves.
00:29:03We talked about placing our faith fully
00:29:05In our Lord and Savior,
00:29:08Jesus Christ,
00:29:09Our trust in him,
00:29:11By following his teachings,
00:29:14Which indeed are meant for us.
00:29:17Our faith strength is exhibited
00:29:19In the little things we do,
00:29:21The small things we do each and every day,
00:29:24To make the presence of Christ known
00:29:27Among those we encounter,
00:29:30As well as in our humility,
00:29:33Our charity,
00:29:35And that what we count as important,
00:29:38What we count as costly,
00:29:41Is indeed something that matters.
00:29:43Our guide to right living continues today.
00:29:49Our holy church gives us
00:29:51This very special solemnity today,
00:29:54The solemnity of brotherly love,
00:29:57Because the way we love matters.
00:30:01The little verse I offered
00:30:03At the introduction to this reflection
00:30:05Is taken from our post-communion prayer today,
00:30:09So you'll hear those words again.
00:30:13It is a response
00:30:15To what we do
00:30:16When we come up here
00:30:18To this altar rail,
00:30:19As we receive Jesus into ourselves,
00:30:23As he comes into us,
00:30:26Into our hearts,
00:30:27Into our minds,
00:30:28Into our entire being,
00:30:30We can either ignore him,
00:30:36His presence,
00:30:37Or we can be changed by it.
00:30:40That change
00:30:43Is being drawn closer to God
00:30:47And to each other.
00:30:50It is what Jesus illustrates
00:30:52In the parable of the good Samaritan.
00:30:56The Samaritan reflects a relationship
00:30:58Not just with his fellow human beings,
00:31:02But first and foremost,
00:31:04With God.
00:31:05That relationship with God
00:31:08Is reflected in his care
00:31:10For his brothers and sisters.
00:31:12The fact that he not just notices
00:31:15The injured man on the side of the road,
00:31:18But that he takes action.
00:31:21It's a heroic thing to do,
00:31:24But really when you reflect on it,
00:31:26It wasn't very difficult, right?
00:31:28He had some wine,
00:31:29He had some oil,
00:31:30He poured those over the wounds,
00:31:32He bandaged the wounds,
00:31:34We can all do that,
00:31:35That's not a bridge too far.
00:31:38He placed him on his own animal,
00:31:40Well we could put someone
00:31:41Who was injured in our car,
00:31:43And took him to a place
00:31:45Where he could be cared for.
00:31:47We can all do that.
00:31:48You know,
00:31:49It's not rocket science,
00:31:51As they say.
00:31:54But it is,
00:31:56Even though not extremely difficult,
00:31:59An act of love.
00:32:00The Samaritan notices
00:32:03The damage that was done
00:32:05To that man
00:32:06On the side of the road,
00:32:08And he intervenes.
00:32:10He exhibits a true humanity,
00:32:14True humanness,
00:32:17Being at one with God.
00:32:21A humanness at one with God
00:32:24Matters for us today,
00:32:27Especially today.
00:32:29We're often taught,
00:32:32And we consider,
00:32:33And philosophize,
00:32:34And think about,
00:32:35What it means to be truly human.
00:32:38And what it means to be truly human,
00:32:40Is to be like God.
00:32:43For God created us in His image,
00:32:46And calls us back to that image,
00:32:49That we reflect God,
00:32:51In all that we do.
00:32:53It matters today.
00:32:57Our humanness matters.
00:33:00Most particularly,
00:33:01As assaults of hatred and violence,
00:33:04Continually show themselves,
00:33:07In our communities.
00:33:09As hunger,
00:33:10As poverty,
00:33:11As fear,
00:33:13Increase.
00:33:15We must be the counter to that.
00:33:17We must be the antidote to that.
00:33:20As St. John,
00:33:23The beloved disciple,
00:33:25Says today,
00:33:27For whoever does not love God,
00:33:29Does not know God,
00:33:31For God is love.
00:33:33And therefore we,
00:33:35In our humanness,
00:33:36Must be love for one another.
00:33:40Today's solemnity,
00:33:41As I mentioned at the introduction to Mass today,
00:33:43Was instituted at a synod in 1923.
00:33:49Members of our church were being persecuted.
00:33:52They were hated.
00:33:58They were under constant hunger,
00:34:00Poverty,
00:34:01And in fear.
00:34:03And they responded to that with a call to love.
00:34:08Because love is the one thing that can overcome those evils.
00:34:13Love is the true antidote to the acts that they,
00:34:18And even we today face.
00:34:21Acts of hatred,
00:34:22Beatings,
00:34:23Firings,
00:34:24Foreclosures,
00:34:26And even murder,
00:34:27Were met with forgiveness,
00:34:30And the mutual strength of love.
00:34:33That's what our church was organized upon.
00:34:37The love of God.
00:34:38And Jesus has called to each and every one of us
00:34:42To live that love.
00:34:45In the name of the Father,
00:34:46And of the Son,
00:34:47And of the Holy Spirit.
00:34:48Amen.
00:34:49Let us now together profess our faith.
00:35:11I believe in one God,
00:35:14The Father,
00:35:15The Almighty,
00:35:16Maker of heaven and earth,
00:35:18Of all that is seen and unseen,
00:35:21Even one Lord,
00:35:23Jesus Christ,
00:35:24The only Son of God,
00:35:26Eternally begotten of the Father,
00:35:28God from God,
00:35:30Light from light,
00:35:31True God from true God,
00:35:33Begotten,
00:35:33Not made,
00:35:34Of one being with the Father,
00:35:36Through Him all things are made,
00:35:39For us and for our salvation,
00:35:41He came down from heaven,
00:35:43By the power of the Holy Spirit,
00:35:45He was born of the Virgin Mary,
00:35:48And became man.
00:35:50For our sake,
00:35:52He was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
00:35:55He suffered death and was buried,
00:35:57On the third day He rose again,
00:36:00In fulfillment of the scriptures,
00:36:02He ascended into heaven,
00:36:04And is seated at the right hand of the Father,
00:36:07He will come again in glory,
00:36:08To judge the living and the dead,
00:36:11And His kingdom will have no end,
00:36:13I believe in the Holy Spirit,
00:36:15The Lord and giver of life,
00:36:18Who proceeds from the Father,
00:36:20With the Father and the Son,
00:36:21He is worshipped and glorified,
00:36:24He has spoken through the prophets,
00:36:26I believe in one holy Catholic and apostolic church,
00:36:30I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins,
00:36:34I look for the resurrection of the dead,
00:36:36And the life of the world to come.
00:36:39Amen.
00:36:41The Lord be with you.
00:36:43And also with you.
00:36:44Let us pray.
00:36:46Our personal love for God calls us to act with compassion.
00:36:50Let us ask God for the grace to love our neighbor as ourselves.
00:36:55And our response to our petitions will be,
00:36:58Lord, hear our prayer.
00:36:59That our church leaders will be guided by the Spirit,
00:37:03As they address the causes of human suffering.
00:37:06Let us pray to the Lord.
00:37:08Lord, hear our prayer.
00:37:10That all who have been robbed of their rights and dignity,
00:37:14Will find advocates and caregivers among the Christian faithful.
00:37:18Let us pray to the Lord.
00:37:20Lord, hear our prayer.
00:37:22That our national and state leaders will use their influence
00:37:26To secure health care and social services
00:37:29That effectively benefit persons most in need.
00:37:33Let us pray to the Lord.
00:37:35Lord, hear our prayer.
00:37:37That the Spirit will help us overcome indifference
00:37:40To the pressing needs of others,
00:37:43Whether in our own country or in economically poor nations.
00:37:47Let us pray to the Lord.
00:37:49Lord, hear our prayer.
00:37:51That we may be generous in helping others
00:37:53And reach out to feed, clothe, and comfort
00:37:56Especially those in need.
00:37:58Let us pray to the Lord.
00:38:01Lord, hear our prayer.
00:38:02That we may respond with love to those who would seek
00:38:05To be our enemy or to harm us
00:38:08And to live in a way that always reflects
00:38:11The teaching and love of Christ
00:38:13In our everyday lives at work, school, and home.
00:38:17Let us pray to the Lord.
00:38:18Lord, hear our prayer.
00:38:21Lord, our God, grant us the gift of men
00:38:23Who will love you with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind
00:38:27And their neighbor as themselves
00:38:29By standing forth to become priests and deacons
00:38:32In your holy church.
00:38:33Let us pray to the Lord.
00:38:35Lord, hear our prayer.
00:38:38That the faithful departed will find consolation
00:38:40In the bosom of Abraham
00:38:41Where Lazarus is no longer poor
00:38:44Especially for all of the departed of our holy church
00:38:48All of those of our families
00:38:50And all of those interred in our parish cemetery
00:38:55As well as all of our benefactors
00:38:58Let us pray to the Lord.
00:39:01Lord, hear our prayer.
00:39:03God, your gospel of compassion
00:39:06Calls us to put into action
00:39:08Our love for you and our neighbor.
00:39:10Hear our prayers
00:39:11And by your spirit
00:39:13Make your church effective
00:39:14As a servant of the poor
00:39:16Sick and needy of our time
00:39:18We ask this in the name of Jesus the Christ
00:39:22Amen
00:39:22Please be seated
00:39:24In this is love
00:39:36Not that we have loved God
00:39:38But that he loved us
00:39:40And sent his son as expiation for our sins
00:39:43Beloved, if God so loved us
00:39:46We also must love one another
00:39:48Let us pray
00:40:18In the midst of this wine
00:40:23And water
00:40:27We have a share of the good of Christ
00:40:29To humble himself
00:40:30To share in our humanity
00:40:32Bless you, Lord
00:40:40Good of all patients
00:40:40Give us you have this wine to offer
00:40:42Through the vine and work with human hands
00:40:44And become our spiritual drink
00:40:46Who is your reason
00:40:49For the living
00:40:51In the sacred day
00:40:54Lord, bless your sins
00:40:57We please the sacrifice
00:40:58We have with humble and contrite hearts
00:41:00Come, Holy Spirit
00:41:01And bless the sacrifice
00:41:03Which we have prepared
00:41:03For the glory of your holy name
00:41:06Lord, wash from my iniquity
00:41:11Cleanse me from all my sin
00:41:13Receive this offering
00:41:23Most holy trinity
00:41:24Which make in memory
00:41:25Of the passion
00:41:25Resurrection
00:41:26And ascension
00:41:27Of our Lord Jesus Christ
00:41:28And in honor
00:41:29Of the blessed
00:41:30Virgin Mary
00:41:30And all the saints
00:41:31May they whose memory
00:41:33We honor on earth
00:41:34Intercede for us
00:41:35In heaven
00:41:36Pray, my brothers and sisters
00:41:38That our sacrifice
00:41:39May be acceptable
00:41:39To God
00:41:40The Almighty Father
00:41:41May the Lord
00:41:42accept the sacrifice
00:41:43On your hands
00:41:45For the praise
00:41:46For the glory of your holy name
00:41:47For our good
00:41:48And our good
00:41:49And our good
00:41:49And our good
00:41:50Amen
00:41:51Amen
00:41:51All loving Father
00:41:58Your Son taught us
00:42:00To love you
00:42:01And our brothers
00:42:03And sisters
00:42:03May this offering
00:42:06Serve to bring us
00:42:07Closer to you
00:42:08And to one another
00:42:10We ask this
00:42:12Through the same
00:42:13Jesus Christ
00:42:14Who lives and reigns
00:42:15With you
00:42:16In the Holy Spirit
00:42:17One God
00:42:18Forever and ever
00:42:21Amen
00:42:24The Lord be with you
00:42:28And also with you
00:42:32Lift up your hearts
00:42:37We lift them up to the Lord
00:42:43Let us give thanks
00:42:47To the Lord our God
00:42:50It is right
00:42:52To give him
00:42:54Thanks and praise
00:42:56Father all powerful
00:42:58And ever living God
00:43:00We do well always
00:43:02And everywhere
00:43:02To give you thanks
00:43:04Through your Son
00:43:05Jesus Christ
00:43:07Our Lord
00:43:08You have called us
00:43:10To love one another
00:43:12Demonstrating harmony
00:43:14Among brothers
00:43:16And sisters
00:43:17And friendship
00:43:18Among neighbors
00:43:20Your word tells us
00:43:23That everyone who loves
00:43:25Is begotten of you
00:43:28And knows you
00:43:30Through the love
00:43:32That we have
00:43:33For one another
00:43:34All will know
00:43:36That we are
00:43:36By the Lord's disciples
00:43:38Therefore with the angels
00:43:41And archangels
00:43:42With all the saints
00:43:45In the entire church
00:43:46We lift our hymn of praise
00:43:48To your glory
00:43:49Repeating unceasingly
00:43:53Holy, holy, holy
00:43:58Lord God of hosts
00:44:03Heavens and the earth
00:44:05Are full of the magic
00:44:08Of the glory
00:44:11Hosanna in the highest
00:44:17Is he who comes
00:44:20In the name
00:44:23Of the Lord
00:44:25Hosanna in the highest
00:44:29Today's Eucharistic prayer
00:44:33is front of page 82
00:44:34The canon of St. Hippolytus
00:44:36Please kneel
00:44:37We give thanks to you
00:44:45God our Father
00:44:46Through your beloved Son
00:44:48Jesus Christ
00:44:50Whom in these last days
00:44:52You have sent us
00:44:53As Savior, Redeemer
00:44:54And messenger
00:44:54Of your will
00:44:55He is your word
00:44:57Inseparable from you
00:44:58Through him
00:44:59You have made all things
00:45:00And in him
00:45:01You were well pleased
00:45:02You sent him from heaven
00:45:04To a virgin's womb
00:45:05There he dwelt
00:45:06And was made flesh
00:45:07He was revealed
00:45:08As your Son
00:45:09Born through the Holy Spirit
00:45:11And of the Virgin
00:45:12When he suffered
00:45:13He fulfilled your will
00:45:14And gained for you
00:45:15A holy people
00:45:16He stretched out his hands
00:45:18To free from suffering
00:45:19Those who believed in you
00:45:21When he was betrayed
00:45:23To his freely chosen suffering
00:45:24Thereby to destroy death
00:45:27To break the chains of darkness
00:45:29To crush hell beneath his feet
00:45:31To give light to the just
00:45:33To make a covenant
00:45:33And to manifest his resurrection
00:45:36He took bread
00:45:40He gave you thanks
00:45:42And said
00:45:43Take and eat
00:45:46This is my body
00:45:48Which is broken for you
00:45:51In like manner
00:46:07He took the cup
00:46:09And said
00:46:10This is my blood
00:46:12Which is poured out for you
00:46:14Whenever you do this
00:46:16Do it in memory
00:46:17Of me
00:46:18Calling then
00:46:33His death
00:46:34And resurrection
00:46:35To mine
00:46:35We offer you
00:46:37The bread
00:46:37And the cup
00:46:38We thank you
00:46:39For allowing us
00:46:40To come before you
00:46:41And to serve you
00:46:43We ask you
00:46:44To send your Holy Spirit
00:46:46Upon the offering
00:46:47Of your Holy Church
00:46:48To gather all in unity
00:46:50Grant to all
00:46:51Partake of these
00:46:52Holy mysteries
00:46:53The fullness
00:46:54Of the Holy Spirit
00:46:55For the strengthening
00:46:56Of their faith
00:46:57In the truth
00:46:58So may we praise
00:46:59And glorify you
00:47:00Through your Son
00:47:01Jesus Christ
00:47:03Through him
00:47:10May glory and honor
00:47:10Be yours
00:47:11With the Holy Spirit
00:47:13In your Holy Church
00:47:15Now and forever
00:47:17And ever
00:47:18Amen
00:47:21Let us now rise
00:47:28And pray with confidence
00:47:29To the Father
00:47:30In the words
00:47:32Our Savior gave us
00:47:34Our Father
00:47:37Who art in heaven
00:47:40Hallowed be thy name
00:47:45Thy kingdom come
00:47:49Thy will be done
00:47:53On earth
00:47:56As it is in heaven
00:48:00Give us this day
00:48:04Our daily bread
00:48:08And forgive us
00:48:11Our trespasses
00:48:14As we forgive those
00:48:18Who trespass against us
00:48:22And lead us not
00:48:25Into temptation
00:48:27But deliver us
00:48:32From evil
00:48:33Deliver us Lord
00:48:36From every evil
00:48:37And grant us peace
00:48:38In our day
00:48:40In your mercy
00:48:41Keep us free from sin
00:48:43And protect us
00:48:45From all anxiety
00:48:46As we wait
00:48:48In joyful hope
00:48:49For the coming
00:48:50Of our Savior
00:48:51Jesus Christ
00:48:53For the kingdom
00:48:55Of our
00:48:56And the glory
00:48:58Are yours
00:48:59Now and forever
00:49:01The cup of blessing
00:49:06Which we bless
00:49:07Is it not a participation
00:49:09In the blood of Christ?
00:49:11The bread
00:49:12Which we break
00:49:14Is it not a participation
00:49:16In the body of Christ?
00:49:18Because there is one bread
00:49:21We who are many
00:49:22Are one body
00:49:23For we all partake
00:49:25Of the one bread
00:49:26May the union of divinity
00:49:27And humanity
