In Season 10 Episode 7 of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May celebrate the 40th anniversary of British Leyland by each spending just £1,200 of their own money to buy a British Leyland car from the 1970s — Clarkson purchases a Rover SD1, Hammond a Triumph Dolomite Sprint and May an Austin Princess. They then take their cars through a series of endurance and performance challenges, including a hand-brake hill test, cobblestone ride comfort with eggs on the roof, and a water-filled track durability trial. Meanwhile, Clarkson reviews the sleek but mighty Aston Martin DBS. Guest star Jennifer Saunders takes on the “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car” segment. A perfect blend of nostalgia, British car heritage and Top Gear’s signature mayhem.
