00:00Today is the fourth day of that resume search for little Gus, and that is likely to wrap
00:08up by today. Following that, 12 experts will continue to investigate this matter, and they
00:16will analyse some of the information that's out there and assess for further opportunities
00:20for further searches down the track. Gus, as you said, was missing for roughly three
00:26weeks now. With the search scaled back in October 3rd on a Friday, the authorities decided
00:32to resume that search with an expanded area, hoping to leave no stone unturned. Thus far,
00:39they've searched roughly 470 square kilometres. Now, just for a bit of sense of scale, that's
00:46about 100 times the size of the Adelaide CBD, with members of Task Force New Horizon walking
00:53roughly 20 to 25 kilometres per day during that search. So it's fair to say that it's
00:58been a fairly expensive search for little Gus.
01:01Arsh, we spoke to the Bureau of Meteorology just moments ago about the hot weather that's
01:06on its way. South Australia won't be escaping that either. Can you tell me about the conditions
01:13under which this search is going to be undertaken? It looks windy where you are right now.
01:18Yes, the wind is kicking up a fair bit at the moment. Yesterday was very hot and very windy
01:25with searches beginning quite early in the morning and wrapping things up around, you
01:30know, that afternoon, late afternoon period. Today, again, it's not going to be quite as
01:36hot, but they are expecting to be concluding the search around that midday point. Some of
01:41the other things that they've been battling with is the actual terrain itself. It's quite sandy
01:47out there and some of the access tracks and the dirt tracks out there have become very
01:51sandy and a number of vehicles were spotted bogged and needing rescue to get out there.
01:56So the terrain that they've been operating in as well has been quite a hindrance to the
02:02feet to the efforts.
