Search for missing four-year-old Gus expanded in South Australia's mid-north

South Australia’s top police officer says the force is investigating every possibility as it searches for 4-year-old Gus who disappeared more than two weeks ago.

00:00The search has resumed for its second day.

00:05Police are out there with Australian Defence Force as well as SES

00:09as well as a special task force called Task Force Horizon

00:13which police announced yesterday

00:15and that's comprised of 12 people, specialists of different skill sets.

00:21Many people were wondering why the search was resumed yesterday

00:25and the SA Police Commissioner Grant Stephens

00:28explained that it has to do with wanting to make sure

00:32that there is no stone unturned

00:35and that they're exhausting every opportunity to find Gus.

00:38There hasn't been any significant findings

00:41and no suggestion of foul play.

00:43It really was just making sure that police were doing everything

00:46they could to find the four-year-old.

00:49Something else police revealed late yesterday

00:51was that the search area that they had gone through

00:56was spanning more than 100 times the size of Adelaide CBD

01:00and that as well, the next resumed search

01:04was spanning 470 kilometres squared.

01:09The terrain is making things quite challenging

01:11for all personnel out there.

01:13The ground is very uneven.

01:16There's lots of soft sand and lots of unreliable tracks out there.

01:21So that is, and also the area is quite isolated

01:23which is making things challenging too.

01:26Gus was last seen on September 27

01:29on the family's sheep station

01:31located 40 kilometres south of Yanta

01:33or about 350 kilometres north of Adelaide

01:36in the state's mid-north.
