Transcript
00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning which is
00:04damp for some but some brighter skies coming through particularly across the
00:07central slice of the country let me take you through the bigger picture high
00:11pressures trying to build from the southwest even so we do have a weak
00:14weather front across southern counties bringing with it a little patchy rain
00:18and drizzle mostly cloud at the same time this system is moving across
00:21Scotland again some showers are likely which will become persistent across the
00:25western side as the weather becomes a bit more gusty especially over the
00:29Highlands let's pick up on those showers through this morning that if you're
00:33stepping out you could get wet Shetland Orkney the western side of Scotland
00:37perhaps some hazy sunshine eastern Scotland down towards the south similar
00:41situation for Northern Ireland we'll see the cloud coming and going with some
00:44brighter weather we run into the back edge of this weather front across mid
00:48Wales towards the Midlands brighter skies towards the north as the sun rises but
00:53further south yes you'll see more in the way of cloud and also some patchy rain and
00:57drizzle poor visibility over the moors as well as the mountains and the hills
01:01through the morning elsewhere brighter skies will continue a mix of cloud and
01:06sunshine and this showery bursts here these showery bursts will become a bit
01:10more persistent particularly across the northwest highlands as we head through the
01:14afternoon in shelter across eastern Scotland not too bad at all feeling
01:18relatively pleasant but certainly showers will continue across the far north and it
01:22will dry up across the far south as the cloud breaks up along for some late
01:26sunshine temperatures then 15 to 18 degrees Celsius so feeling pleasant in
01:30shelter in any brighter weather so that's a picture this afternoon through
01:35this evening yet again we'll see some clearer skies as that high pressure
01:39continues to build from the southwest but over the North Pennines as well as the
01:44Highlands you'll see some gustiness associated with the winds just being a
01:48bit more turbulent as it moves from the west towards the east this weather run
01:52here will introduce more cloud through Thursday into Friday even a little rain
01:56but for many it's dry as we head into the weekend we are chasing cloud there
02:01will be some brighter breaks around so here's your outlook through Thursday
02:05watch out for some mist and fog first thing across more southern areas certainly
02:08we'll see some brighter breaks coming through temperatures 16 to 18 degrees
02:13Celsius it's rather breezy in the north on Friday yet again we'll see broken cloud
02:17particularly in shelter many areas will be dry although the chance of a little bit
02:22of rain in the wind across more western areas I'll see you later
