00:00Same thing with the NFL.
00:01Be sure you know who's on their center.
00:02Looks like it's going to be Dylan Gabriel of the Cleveland Browns.
00:06I want to say Guardians at that point here.
00:07The Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron Rodgers,
00:09a 4.5 to 5.5 point favorite depending where he's shopping at.
00:12Pittsburgh off a buy.
00:13Cleveland fresh off coming off a loss overseas.
00:16The total listed at 38.5.
00:18The Steelers, I think they're the Kings now, the AFC North.
00:21What's the spread line here, Joe?
00:23Well, the NFL schedulers wrapped up an absolute gift for the Steelers here, right?
00:28They played in Ireland in week four.
00:30They had a buy last week while the Browns were playing the Vikings in London.
00:36Now the Browns have to go on the road against a division rival,
00:41not to mention that they're going to have a rookie quarterback
00:44in his first true road start here.
00:48This is going to be all Pittsburgh here.
00:51Would not shock me if this number gets a little out of control
00:54by the time we get to Sunday.
00:56Let's talk about this next game quickly here on this spread line.
00:59The Chargers and the Dolphins.
01:00The Chargers are on the road and they're favored by 4.5 and a total 43.5.
01:04Who's left to play for the Chargers?
01:06Just shows you how bad the Dolphins are.
01:08What's that quick spread line, Joe?
01:10Well, the bottom line is the Dolphins' defense is bottom three
01:14in just about every statistical category.
01:16So it doesn't make a difference who is playing offensive line.
01:20They're not going to get to Justin Herbert, who still has Keenan Allen, Ladd McConkie, Quinton Johnson.
01:26They should have no problem carving up Miami here.
01:30Air raid down in South Beach.
01:32We'll see how that one turns out.
01:34News and notes in the NFL, because why?
01:36The NFL never stops you.
01:37And by the way, sometimes we could take a look and we get angry at the way we place a wager.
01:41I didn't lose any money on the Arizona Cardinals game,
01:43but I'm sure a lot of people who had a lot of money in competitions and survivor pools said,
01:49how did I lose that game?
01:50You didn't even need them to cover the spread and they lost.
01:52Sometimes you want to take your frustration out on a certain player here.
01:56Well, how about this video we have coming up here, Joe?
01:58Basically taking a look at Jonathan Gannon saying, I apologize, but should he have?
02:03I did tell him, Bob, you know, everybody in there from staff to the coaches,
02:11to the players, to everybody in there, the clock is ticking.
02:15Like, it doesn't matter if you're a number one overall pick, a Pro Bowl safety,
02:19a third-year head coach, first-year assistant, it doesn't matter.
02:25Like, we have to do a better job to close out games.
02:29Joe, if you're not, you didn't see the video that they're referring to
02:32why he apologized to Di Mercado is because Di Mercado had a long touchdown run,
02:37dropped the football, maybe would have been forgotten a little bit more
02:39if they had won that football game, but they didn't.
02:42But Jonathan Gannon on the sideline basically threw a gut punch at Di Mercado.
02:46He was so upset, and I can just feel like the angst of everybody who bet that game
02:50probably filtered that energy right into Jonathan Gannon at that moment said,
02:54punch the guy, and he did.
02:57Well, it's so funny because in that video, right,
03:00the poor offensive lineman knew it was coming.
03:03Like, he's standing next to him, like, trying to be like, listen, dude,
03:06you're about to get run over here, but it's going to be okay.
03:10No, it's not okay.
03:11You know what it is?
03:12It's a direct reflection, and it starts at the top.
03:16Would that have ever happened on a Bill Belichick or Parcells-led team?
03:21Like, no.
03:22It starts at the top because you know those things are unacceptable.
03:25Dropping the football without crossing the goal line is there's just nothing
03:31less excused.
03:33There is nothing you can come up with that excuses that in that moment
03:38in any game in the NFL.
03:40So as far as I'm concerned, yes, personal responsibility.
03:43But the only reason that happened, Donnie, to me,
03:45I think it starts at the top.
03:47It's an organizational issue.
03:49Like, he busts that long run, slows down at the 10,
03:52like he could care less about the guy chasing him down,
03:54and drops the football.
03:55Like, that's hard to do.
03:56Like, I'm not saying you have to run into the end zone and do like a,
03:59you know, Barry Sanders, hand the ball to the referee in the back
04:02of the end zone.
04:02But it's pretty simple.
04:03Like, yeah, I'm halfway through the end zone.
04:05I can drop the football now or spike it at this point.
04:07I just never understand the concept of let me drop the football.
04:10Why are you even dropping the football anyway at that time?
04:13Costs, ended up costing him the game.
04:14But so many other things had to go right for the Titans,
04:16which actually did go right, and they did it.
04:18I'll tell you what didn't go right.
04:19The Patriots did get a victory over the Buffalo Bills,
04:21which was fantastic, but did lose running back Gibson for the season.
04:26Antonio Gibson, talented guy.
04:27He's down for the year.
04:28So now it's going to put a little bit more emphasis on,
04:31hey, remind you, I Stevenson.
04:32Don't fumble the football, man.
04:33We need you.
04:35It's amazing.
04:36He's another one that just can't.
04:38And Brable is another one of those guys that you're going to have a hard
04:42time relating to that.
04:44But now he might not have a choice because it's unfortunate for Gibson.
04:48I thought it was a great pickup.
04:50I thought the minute the Jets got him and Brable's like, yeah,
04:53we got no problem.
04:54We'll take him.
04:55I was like, all right, this could work out for everybody.
04:58But unfortunately, you know, injuries, just timing of everything, Donnie.
05:03Next time a guy wants a contract and is willing to hold,
05:06remember situations like this.
05:08Get paid when you can get paid, period.
05:10Absolutely.
05:12And by the way, getting paid,
05:13look at the New England Patriots upcoming schedule at the Saints,
05:16at the Titans, home to the Browns.
05:19Could we see the New England Patriots gain those tailwinds that you need to
05:22possibly challenge the Bills for this division?
05:25Well, they're still a young team.
05:28So the problem is, you know,
05:30those games might be easy to lose for them because they can be like,
05:35oh, look at us.
05:35We're riding high.
05:36This is where coaching and Brable is going to have to do a hell of a job,
05:40Donnie, to make sure that they stay pumped because this week against us,
05:44this has got letdown written all over it for a young team.
05:48The videos are out, Joe, and I don't mean highlight videos.
05:51Mark Sanchez stumbling around the streets of Indianapolis with a couple of
05:55stab wounds here.
05:56It turns out he could be looking at a sentence between one to six years for
06:01felony battery assault.
06:03Mind your own business.
06:05Do your job.
06:06Get paid.
06:07Live your life.
06:07He couldn't do that, Joe.
06:08The ambulance chasing attorneys must have been lined up outside the hospital,
06:16Donnie,
06:16because the amount of lawsuits that are getting filed right now from this,
06:21from the victim are going to be over the top.
06:25It went from bad to absolutely worse for Mark Sanchez here in one weekend.
06:31Just trying to figure out the details of what happened is just amazing because
06:36each one here is more mind-boggling than the other.
06:39Like, I thought at first it was, hey, Sanchez rented a car.
06:41This guy just blocked him in and goes, hey, pal, beat it.
06:43I'm going to be here a while.
06:44And there was a fight.
06:45That's clearly not what happened here.
06:47And Sanchez looks like, allegedly, he's really in the wrong.
06:51We'll find out the details as they continue to come out.
06:54NFL look at headlines.
06:55Why?
06:55Money never sleeps in the NFL.
06:57Games are on the horizon.
06:59And that includes a game on Thursday night.
07:01Football from MetLife.
07:02The worst stadium in the NFL, which also, I'm going to bring up something fun here, Joe.
07:06It's Donnie Wright's on his Joe Ranieri.
07:07How about this headline?
07:08The Philadelphia Eagles, you know, coming into this game.
07:11They have a couple guys banged up.
07:12Landon Dickerson leaves the game every single week, seemingly with some back injury,
07:16slash knee injury, slash ankle injury.
07:18He got injured in that Broncos game.
07:20Nick Sierra and he talked about that yesterday.
07:22Before I get there, Saquon Barkley also, they didn't have practice yesterday,
07:25but there's always an estimated practice report on a short week that goes,
07:28if we did practice, would these guys have practiced?
07:31And Saquon Barkley wasn't going to practice yesterday with a knee injury.
07:34I saw him take a shot in that game against the Denver Broncos.
07:37Got up a little bit slow, but still finished the game.
07:39But Nick Sierra and he said this, Joe.
07:41We have to understand, like, you know, making the best decision for these guys,
07:45which includes the horrible turf at MetLife Stadium,
07:48which on a short week is never a good sign.
07:51The Eagles, our favorite, at seven and a half points on the road on a short week
07:55and 41 and a half.
07:56The Eagles are the better football team.
07:57There's no question about it.
07:59But the Philadelphia Eagles didn't play that well against the Broncos,
08:02expected to bounce back.
08:03But this is just an indictment of, I guess,
08:05how bad we think the Giants are, got blasted by New Orleans.
08:09Sometimes these lines, I go, I don't know if I like that,
08:11but I guess it does make sense.
08:14Yeah.
08:15Well, the line makes sense.
08:16I mean, you know, how many five straight possessions,
08:19I think, had to set a record somewhere in which they turned the ball over to Giants,
08:24which is, you know, this will be growing pains.
08:26You want to start a rookie quarterback.
08:29You wait until week what?
08:30You know, week five to do it.
08:32Well, guess what?
08:33There are going to be growing pains,
08:36especially with a team that doesn't have exactly a ton of talent.
08:39But in the meantime, you know, Philly's got some things to figure out here.
08:44And I don't know that I would ever look to Philly
08:46much beyond the first half of any game, Donnie,
08:50because that seems to be where they're the best.
08:52And then they haven't figured out what to do.
08:55I mean, they blew another 17-3 lead in the second half against Denver.
09:00And that seems to be a theme this year.
09:02So while I agree with the line,
09:04I think all the value with Philadelphia is better early
09:07because I don't know what you're going to get in the second half anymore with this team.
09:11Look, if I look at prop bets in this game, which I haven't looked at yet,
09:14just give me the chicken with his head cut off, otherwise known as Jackson Dart.
09:17He's probably going to run 16 times in this game.
09:19And also Cam Scadaboo will get at least 20 touches in this game.
09:22That's the way I would look,
09:23because I know those two guys are going to get high usage rates in this game.
09:27I tell you, there's a high usage rate here.
09:28Baltimore's offense, not.
09:30They were terrible last week against Houston.
09:32Now come the town, the Rams, who are also, Joe, seven and a half point favorites here
09:37on the road at Baltimore.
09:40We know, Joe, it's a week-to-week league.
09:42But I got to tell you, looking at the Ravens defense
09:44and then coupled with their new look offense without Lamar Jackson,
09:48is anybody rushing to the window saying,
09:50now's the week that Baltimore rises up at home?
09:53Not me.
09:53No, I mean, listen, we just watched the Rams lose
09:58to a completely depleted 49ers team the same way.
10:03And now they've got a little bit of extra rest here,
10:07but they've got to fly across the country.
10:11You know, to me, Donnie, this is shaping up to be,
10:14because I think the money will continue to come in on the Rams.
10:17But, you know, once again, unfortunately, the value is on Baltimore here.
10:22And I think nobody's going to run to the window
10:24to take the points with Baltimore.
10:26But that would be the only look here, dog or bass.
10:30Like, they were, it's one thing, Joe, it's like, hey, you know what?
10:33Lamar is out.
10:34We lost 17-14 to Houston.
10:35It is what it is.
10:36We're not used to seeing Baltimore get embarrassed.
10:39I don't care who's playing.
10:39Like, they won games with Snoop Huntley, a quarterback.
10:43It's almost like they're just autonomous.
10:44Like, doesn't matter.
10:45Next man up, it's the Baltimore way.
10:47Their entire defense was bad starting the season.
10:49And it got injured, so now it's even worse.
10:52And it's not like we can just hand off the Derrick Henry
10:54and everything's going to be okay.
10:55They tried that last week, and it didn't work at all.
10:58I'm interested to see where this line moves this week.
11:00And also, if any healthy bodies are coming back
11:03for the Baltimore Ravens on defense, we'll check in on that.
11:06425 start, Tampa Bay, who's been so much fun to watch.
11:09One score game, squash-buckling quarterback in Baker Mayfield.
11:13They're going to get a punch this week from the San Francisco 49ers.
11:15And also, TBD is listed at quarterback for the Niners.
11:21Are you rolling Mac in this game, Joe?
11:25No, listen, he's just as hurt now, I think, as Purdy.
11:29So, not great.
11:31I would still rather Purdy be under center.
11:35But to me, with them, the question is,
11:36is he getting any of those receivers back?
11:38Is Jennings coming back here, right?
11:41Is, are they going to have anybody they can throw it?
11:45Yeah, Kittle, how far is he away?
11:48Ayuk, how far is he away?
11:49Like, I know reinforcements are coming for the 49ers,
11:53but as long as you have McCaffrey,
11:55and that defense showed me something against the Rams there.
11:59But having to travel, listen,
12:00it's not like Tampa doesn't have to travel.
12:02They were all the way out in Seattle,
12:03have to come home now and get ready for this 49ers team
12:08who has some extra rest.
12:09So, I don't love the spot for Tampa at all here.
12:13I feel like an over.
12:14Like, I just feel like Tampa Bay is destined for an over every week
12:17because that's just the way it is.
12:18And Kyle Shanahan, you showed me something.
12:20I always talk about him being one of the best play callers I've ever seen.
12:23He showed me a lot.
12:25Mac Jones and nobody on offense able to move the football against the Rams.
12:28Loved what I saw.
12:29How about Sunday Night Football?
12:30I love this game, Joe.
12:31A 50 and a half total.
12:32A slight favorite to Kansas City.
12:34Detroit on the road to take on the Chiefs.
12:36Early weather reports,
12:37which is always key for that dome team.
12:4076, 77 degrees.
12:41Light wind.
12:42No real precipitation in the forecast.
12:45You take a look at this game.
12:46So much is on the line for Kansas City.
12:48We know Detroit's going to move the football.
12:50Under in this game,
12:51if you're betting it,
12:52you better bet it,
12:53set it,
12:54forget it,
12:54and shut your TV off.
12:55You're not going to want to watch this one.
12:56Sweat that out.
12:58Well,
12:58it opened up 48 and a half,
13:01and now we're at 50,
13:0350 and a half.
13:03So I don't think the under is in anybody's mind here.
13:07And who can blame me?
13:08After what I saw last night from Kansas City,
13:11there is absolutely no way I'd be sweating out an under,
13:15especially with Kansas City at home off a loss.
13:18Yes,
13:18it's a short week,
13:20but my goodness,
13:20that offense is humming along.
13:22If they can clean up the penalties,
13:23which I believe we all understand they will,
13:28this could be the track meet of all track meets.
13:31And you know,
13:32it's the funny part about this too,
13:33is Kansas City was so good on offense.
13:35And that was with a sort of hobble worthy,
13:37maybe just gets healthy this week and they're full gas and still waiting on
13:40Rasheed Rice to come back.
13:41It's a fun team to watch.
13:43It might be getting back to those old chiefs ways that we loved quicker
13:46scores make for more fun games and more wins for the Kansas City Chiefs.
13:50But if I'm looking at this entire slate,
13:51I can't wait for Sunday night to take place between Detroit and Kansas City.
13:56It should be an absolute fantastic one.
