00:00Day 7. Doers of the Word. Maya Angelou famously said,
00:10When you know better, do better. Knowledge is important, but James reminds us that simply
00:16knowing God's Word is not enough. We can listen to sermons, read devotionals, and memorize verses,
00:23but if we stop there, we risk deceiving ourselves. Sin has a subtle way of creeping into our heart.
00:30Convincing us that our way is better. James warns against this self-deception and paints a vivid
00:37picture. Hearing God's Word without doing it is like looking in a mirror and then immediately
00:43forgetting your reflection. In other words, you lose sight of who you are and who you belong to.
00:50God's Word doesn't just inform us, it transforms us when we obey it. Obedience may not always feel
00:57easy, but it aligns us with God's truth and leads us to freedom so that we will be blessed in all
01:03that we do. The call is simple but powerful. Don't just be a hearer of the Word. Be a doer. Let God's
01:11Word take root, shape your actions, and guide your life. That's where growth, freedom, and blessing
01:17are found. Reflection. Am I living as a hearer only, or do I actively apply what I learn from
01:25Scripture? Application. Choose one truth from this week's readings and commit to putting it into
01:31action today. Prayer. Heavenly Father, thank you for planting your Word in my heart. Help me not only to
01:40hear it but to live it out daily. Empower me through your Spirit to walk in obedience, so that I may
01:46experience the freedom and blessing found in doing your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.
