00:00Day 9. No favoritism. We live in a world where bias runs deep. Sometimes it shows up in obvious
00:11ways, but often it slips into our thoughts and behaviors without us even realizing it.
00:17It can be as subtle as who we greet with a smile and who we pass by without acknowledgement.
00:23Favoritism often flows from our human desire to align ourselves with people who appear powerful,
00:29influential, or comfortable, while overlooking those who seem to have little to offer us.
00:35James confronts this head-on. He reminds us that in the kingdom of God, appearances, titles,
00:42and wealth carry no weight. What matters is the heart. When we show favoritism, we step out of
00:49alignment with God's character and become judges with evil motives, choosing status over compassion.
00:55Jesus himself spent time with those society considered less than, fishermen, tax collectors,
01:02women, lepers, and the poor. His example shows us that true love does not discriminate.
01:09When we recognize our bias and ask God to reshape how we see others, we reflect his heart in the world.
01:16Every person carries his image and deserves to be treated with dignity, honor, and respect.
01:22Reflection. Do I treat people differently based on their appearance, status, or wealth?
01:29Application. Be intentional today about how you interact with everyone, regardless of their
01:35perceived status. Make room in your life to honor the overlooked.
01:40Prayer. Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I have shown favoritism, whether knowingly or
01:47unknowingly. Purify my heart so I may see people as you see them, precious and worthy of love.
01:54Help me to walk in humility and extend grace without discrimination. In Jesus' name, Amen.
