TEEN parents Trina and Wilson have two children together and are still just 19 years old. The couple met at middle school but "never in a million years" would they have predicted what would come next for them. At the age of just 15, Trina found out she was pregnant for the first time - and, as Wilson told Truly: "It was a big turning point at that time. My whole perspective changed on life." When their first son, Amir (now 2 years old), was born the parents suddenly had to juggle high school with parental responsibilities such as "working, dropping the kids off at daycare, doctors appointments." Then, last year, having just turned 18, Trina found out she was pregnant again - she gave birth to their second son, Jace, four months ago. Both children have medical conditions, adding extra responsibility onto Trina and Wilson's young shoulders - but they have taken it all in their stride, despite judgement from people online after the teen parents decided to share their family's story on TikTok. They have often been told that they "shouldn't have children so young" and people assume Wilson is going to leave Trina to parent their sons on her own. But the pair are stronger than ever - and they have had to be in order to ride out turbulent relations with Trina's parents, who they live with. When he first found out his daughter was pregnant, Trina's dad "didn't want to see or talk to" Wilson and initially blocked him from seeing Amir when he was first born. Trina's stepmom Maria was similarly disappointed, but they eventually allowed Wilson to move in and support Trina in raising their new son. When Trina told her parents she was pregnant for the second time, though, old wounds reopened - and Trina has still not discussed that rocky period with stepmom Maria since Jace was born. So today, as they sit down together for the first time, will the family come to blows? Or will Trina and Wilson be able to move forward with the full support of Trina's parents?

00:00I was pregnant at 15, now I'm a mom of two.
00:03We got a lot of comments that we shouldn't have kids so young.
00:06Children shouldn't be having children.
00:09People assume that I'm going to leave or like the kids aren't mine.
00:14Single mom in the making.
00:15My dad and my stepmom were so angry.
00:18They said I was too young to have a child.
00:20As soon as my dad started to accept it, I found out I was pregnant again.
00:25Today we're going to have a conversation with my stepmom.
00:27I'm nervous to hear her actual thoughts.
00:29She usually doesn't hold back.
00:31How do you and my dad feel about the second pregnancy?
00:34Um.
00:35He's ready for your bottle.
00:37He's ready for the bottle.
00:38I'm Trina and I'm 19.
00:40I'm Wilson and I'm 19.
00:41And we're teen parents of two kids.
00:43One is two years old, his name is Amir.
00:45And then Jace, he's four months old.
00:47I would describe Amir as funny.
00:50He's always like dancing and like making everyone laugh.
00:52And then Jace is very like calm and hungry.
00:56Like he wants that bottle like right away.
01:01When Amir was born, I was 16.
01:04When Jace was born, I was just turned 19.
01:09I always see myself as being a mom, just not at this age.
01:12I never envisioned myself being a dad at such an early age.
01:16Never in the middle of the years.
01:17It was a big turning point at that time.
01:19Like my whole perspective changed my life.
01:22My morning before I had kids, I would just wake up and go to school.
01:26And then after school, I'd come back home and go to sleep.
01:28Now I wake up early.
01:29We have to wake up before 8.50 in the morning to give Jace his medicine.
01:35That's the huge responsibility I would say for now.
01:37It's like the hearing aids for Amir and his medicine.
01:40Amir, music.
01:42Where's your microphone?
01:43Amir has a syndrome called Warnenberg syndrome, which causes eyes to be blue.
01:49Comes with hearing loss.
01:50They gave him hearing aids.
01:52Jace, when he was born, he was extremely yellow.
01:55He wasn't waking up.
01:56He wasn't crying.
01:57He wasn't eating.
01:58He found out that he had seizures and brain bleeds.
02:01Right now we just know he has epilepsy.
02:03There's a lot of responsibilities add on to our lives.
02:07I feel like I was very immature.
02:09And I made a lot of mistakes when I was younger.
02:11Now I have kids.
02:12Let me be mature.
02:13Let me grow up.
02:14We were really young.
02:15Only thing we were doing was going to school and coming home.
02:19Only thing that changed was more so us working.
02:22Us having more things to do.
02:23Dropping the kids off daycare.
02:25Doctor's appointments.
02:26Having more things to do, like add to our list.
02:29I mainly work since morning to the afternoon.
02:32So all credits to her.
02:33She takes care of the kids from there.
02:35Then once I get home, you know, I help.
02:37I can make a bottle.
02:39I take care of the little one.
02:41He eats a lot.
02:42Sometimes we feed him four ounces and then he starts crying.
02:48And then we give him like two more ounces and he just goes first to sleep.
02:51When and why did you guys start posting on TikTok about being a parent?
02:55I mainly just started posting about Amira's Wordenberg.
02:58Just to like get like answers and like clarity on like, will my son be okay?
03:02I just wanted to show off that I'm a teen parent.
03:03Like I wanted to let that be known.
03:05I used to get comments like, your life must be so hard now.
03:08People saying you guys can take care of them right or you guys know your life.
03:12I feel like there's a lot of stigma about being teen parents because they probably don't
03:17think we can handle it or they probably think we aren't going to be as responsible as older
03:22people.
03:23You should be worried about school and being young, not spreading your legs.
03:29Okay.
03:30There's a lot of people our age that do the same thing.
03:33They just don't get the same results or they just choose a different result.
03:37We made that decision like to keep our kids.
03:39So for us, that's our own route.
03:42Single mom in the making.
03:44I love this girl to death.
03:45That would never happen for my part.
03:46Children shouldn't be having children.
03:49When you're 18, you're an adult.
03:50Just wait two years and finish high school.
03:52One, we graduated on time.
03:55Two, I'm still taking college classes.
03:58I actually brought my son on stage to grab my diploma.
04:01That was a very big moment for me as well.
04:03And we went to her graduation as well and we just shouting from the back, hey, there we go mama.
04:08Having a baby doesn't stop nothing.
04:10I'm still doing the same thing that kids my age are doing.
04:14They're in school.
04:14I'm still in school.
04:16They're living their life and I'm living mine just with kids.
04:20How did your families react when you found out you were pregnant?
04:23When I first got pregnant, I was living with my parents and he was living with his mom.
04:30My family reacted very disappointed and upset.
04:34My dad was like, didn't say nothing.
04:36He was more so crying and wouldn't like really look at me.
04:39My dad was like, no, stay away from my daughter.
04:41I don't want you near my daughter.
04:43He just didn't want to see him or talk to him.
04:45It was just very negative at that point.
04:49I had a lot of anger in me because I wasn't thinking about his perspective or anything.
04:53I was just thinking about myself.
04:55I was thinking, oh, how can you not let me see her after this?
04:58I was just really upset.
05:00Now that I look back at it, I understand his perspective.
05:03You know, his daughter, 15, having a baby.
05:06It was just our families clashing against each other because we didn't, we never had like a talk.
05:11We never had a talk at that point.
05:13Hey guys, how are you?
05:15Today we're going to have a conversation with my stem mom.
05:17We haven't had a conversation about it since I was pregnant for the second time.
05:20I'm nervous to hear her actual thoughts.
05:22She usually doesn't hold back.
05:24How did you feel when I was pregnant for the first time?
05:26Oh my God, I was in shock.
05:30I found out two days before you tell me and I was so upset.
05:34Your dad was acting kind of weird those days.
05:37When he called me that day at the room, I said, what is it?
05:41He told me I was three nights pregnant.
05:44And I was like, what?
05:46We are trying to do our best as a parent.
05:49Even I'm not your mom, but I try to do the best for you guys.
05:53And it hurt my feelings a lot.
05:55How did you and my dad feel about the second pregnancy?
05:58We were 18 when we found out we were pregnant again.
06:01My dad, I told him first.
06:03He was like, why would you tell me this right now?
06:07My stem mom, she just didn't say nothing.
06:10She was just quiet.
06:11And I couldn't see her reaction.
06:14I'd say they were very shocked and disappointed.
06:18We were so upset.
06:20That means we were in shock, especially the way that we found out.
06:25We held it in for so long because we weren't sure if Jace was going to make it or not.
06:30Because during the procedures, they did tell me there was a high chance that he wasn't going to make it.
06:35So we didn't want everybody to deal with what we were going through.
06:39But I would like to know it before, even if something happened.
06:43I was upset about the pregnancies, the both pregnancies, the way that we found out.
06:47I understand that you guys, you and my dad, were very disappointed and didn't agree with our decisions.
06:53But I do respect that you guys were very helpful and still treated my kids like they were yours.
06:59I'm very grateful for that because most parents would have just kicked their kids out.
07:03So I'm very grateful for that.
07:04I see the responsibility that you guys have.
07:06And you guys are doing so well.
07:08I'll be there for you always.
07:10All right, guys.
07:12Do you have any regrets about having kids so young?
07:16Me, personally, I have no regrets in my life.
07:18I feel like this is probably the best thing that ever happened to me because it's changed my perspective and made me mature early on.
07:25It makes me work harder every single day.
07:27Like, that's my why now.
07:30Parenting, actually, like, it's like fun.
07:34Kids are always happy.
07:35They're like little angels.
07:37They're looking at us and they're just like smiling.
07:39And it's just like, why am I sad right now?
07:41I have my person.
07:42Like, I have my babies.
07:43It gave us, like, a purpose in a way.
07:45What message do you have for those who might judge you for being teen parents?
07:49There's no need to judge people for making their decisions at a young age.
07:53We're still doing what we have to do for our kids and also for ourselves.
07:56And if we do judge, it's not really our issue.
07:59Keep on hating.
08:00We're still living.
08:01We're still going to take care of our kids.
08:03We're still going to grow together and have fun.
08:05Just be positive, man.
08:11We're still going to grow together.
