00:01:19So, lots to talk about on the show today.
00:01:22Here's the results over the course of the weekend's football.
00:01:26Celtic 0, Hibbs 0, Dundee United 0, Kilmarnock 2, Hearts 3, Falkirk 0, St Mirren 1, Dundee 0,
00:01:33Motherwell 2, Aberdeen 0 and Livingston 1, Rangers 2.
00:01:37And Hearts out in front at the top of the table.
00:01:41But I think we'll start at Livingston because, boy, did they need the win, Alec Ray.
00:01:47Yeah, absolutely. We sat here last week talking about the importance of a good start in Europe.
00:01:51Obviously very disappointing.
00:01:53But going into the Livingston game, there was a potential banana skin.
00:01:57And I thought in the first half, Peter, I thought they played very well.
00:02:00You know, could have added to the one that they got, the penalty.
00:02:03Majofsky had a brilliant opportunity as well.
00:02:05So, I thought the first half was, you know, not too bad.
00:02:08However, you know, Livingston in the second half were, I thought they were excellent.
00:02:13Deservedly equalised as well.
00:02:14And then you think to yourself, well, here we go again.
00:02:17You know, this is going to go from bad to worse.
00:02:19But they managed to scrape that win with a kind of forced opportunity.
00:02:24You know, unlikely source as well.
00:02:25And Arons, we just swept it home.
00:02:27So, overall, I think they'll be more relieved than anything else.
00:02:31Yeah, the manager himself, Russell Martin.
00:02:33As you would expect when you get that win,
00:02:35just hopes it's now the line in the sand and they can push on from here.
00:02:39I'd rather be 3-0 up at half-time.
00:02:42But, yeah, I think it could be a real big moment for us.
00:02:44Hopefully, they'll feel really good about it in the dressing room.
00:02:48I enjoyed their celebrations together.
00:02:51And as I said to them, like, we deserve it, but we make it hard for ourselves.
00:02:55So, the game is always open to interpretation.
00:02:57Mine is we were brilliant for 45 minutes.
00:02:59And then for 25 minutes in the second half,
00:03:04we showed so much character and resilience.
00:03:05And I'm really proud of them for that.
00:03:07You've got to give a bit of balance on this, Raffi.
00:03:09If you are critical of Russell Martin and his Rangers side,
00:03:13when they're not getting wins, he's got the win.
00:03:16He's got that three points that he could possibly now use as motivation to say,
00:03:21look, we stuck in, we battled away, we got the points.
00:03:25This is what you can do, a wee bit of belief.
00:03:27Take out the anxiety, which, again, he's mentioned on numerous occasions
00:03:32this team seem to be suffering from.
00:03:34Yeah, I think Alec had it in the head the first 45 minutes.
00:03:37I thought they were superb.
00:03:38The best have been this year.
00:03:40And then, obviously, the second half.
00:03:41And then Livingston get the goal.
00:03:43And that old bit comes in, you know.
00:03:46Then you see players starting to go, here we go again.
00:03:48And you wonder whether they're going to dig themselves out of it.
00:03:51But they go at the breaks.
00:03:53I think Livingston will be kicking themselves, I think,
00:03:55the last three minutes of that.
00:03:57Extra time, the injury time.
00:03:59They had more than numerous occasions to get the ball up the park
00:04:02and just didn't deal with it at all.
00:04:04You know, and all credit to them, just kept going, kept going.
00:04:07And you will take it at the end of any game, you know,
00:04:10if you get a goal late on like that.
00:04:12You have to give the players a pat on the back for saying, keep going.
00:04:15Yeah, one man, as you would expect to, wasn't too happy with it all was Livingston boss David Martindale.
00:04:21I feel we're a wee bit unlucky not to take something from the game.
00:04:25Maybe not beating them, but I think we're a wee bit unlucky not to take something from the game.
00:04:29Again, I just, I need to stop talking about this, but it was a really, really soft free kick
00:04:35giving away in the middle of the park.
00:04:38I just felt, it seems to be happening quite a bit now with a bigger club.
00:04:42They kind of get, every decision kind of falls in their favour.
00:04:47Yeah, there you are.
00:04:48You get a peeved manager, he's not happy with it.
00:04:50I think, as I said there, I think the defenders had themselves to blame.
00:04:56I think the boy had to try to have a clearance and he nearly hit it out for a corner,
00:04:59you know, instead of just putting it up the park, you know, and getting a bit of respite,
00:05:03you know, and, I mean, Alex has been in a better stage than me.
00:05:07You've got to kill the game, you've got to sort of see the last couple of minutes out,
00:05:10you know, but they never did that.
00:05:12So, you feel a wee bit of sympathy for them, but you have to give credit to the Rangers.
00:05:16Yeah, the one thing that's not going away is, and I obviously don't want to use,
00:05:21the expletives, but they are telling them where to go, whether it's a win or not.
00:05:25The fans are still not having them at the moment.
00:05:27Yeah, I don't agree with that, Peter.
00:05:28I thought that was poor for the Rangers supporters.
00:05:30Listen, I know they don't want the manager there, but they've scored a last-minute goal.
00:05:33You know, the players are buzzing, the manager's buzzing, the fans should be buzzing.
00:05:37You've got a result, you know, and it seems as if there's a lot of Rangers fans.
00:05:40I was sitting with a couple watching the game, and they didn't even celebrate when the goal went in.
00:05:44They just thought they weren't bothered.
00:05:46I don't know if that's just apathy through a lot of the Rangers supporters at the minute,
00:05:49but they just don't see any kind of progress, even winning games.
00:05:52It's just prolonging Russell Martin's reign at Rangers, but I thought it was poor when you're shouting that after the game,
00:05:58you know, screaming that towards the manager.
00:06:00I'll just make the manager more determined, I think.
00:06:02Yeah.
00:06:02Keep getting it right and keep getting results.
00:06:03They're screaming that when he gets off the bus.
00:06:05Yeah, as I said, he's getting pelters, and listen, I know the Rangers supporters are not happy,
00:06:10but, you know, he's a human being.
00:06:12I just don't agree with the stick he's getting at the minute, Peter, and I think the only thing he can do is win games.
00:06:17There's got another game coming up in Austria during the week that he's got to win as well,
00:06:20but I thought, you know, you've won the game, there should be a bit of euphoria after the game that you've won,
00:06:24won a football match in the last couple of minutes, and your first thought is to tell the manager to get to.
00:06:28I just, I thought it was poor.
00:06:30Yeah, strange times.
00:06:32It could have been worse if you've been playing for Europe at the Ryder Cup,
00:06:34and New York, you're going to get more pelters there.
00:06:37But as far as the game and the nature of the game, now, again, I'm not condoning abuse.
00:06:43It's part and parcel of it, and I think he seems very level-headed.
00:06:47It's not that he's being dismissive of the Rangers' support.
00:06:50What he's trying to do is deflect away from the team and say,
00:06:55well, you know, I've just got to deal with it in my own way,
00:06:57and I'm not going to give you any back-page headlines on it.
00:07:01I'm, you know, they're booing.
00:07:03I've just got to get on with it.
00:07:04I don't think he can afford to focus on that anyway,
00:07:07because if he's focused on that, he's got enough on his plate with the results,
00:07:12the performances, the anxiety within his squad.
00:07:14So if he's focused with outside influences as well, Peter,
00:07:17and it can be brutal at times, I think he has to just keep his head down,
00:07:20just focus on the team.
00:07:22And then obviously, as Tam says, they've got a European game in midweek,
00:07:25and then obviously is at Falkirk next weekend, isn't it?
00:07:27So they'll need to just kind of try and tick away and try and get wins,
00:07:31because the only way this turns and change anyone's mind...
00:07:34Now, a lot of these fans will be stubborn and they'll double down on this
00:07:39and they'll just say, we want a change.
00:07:40But the only way this guy's going to try and change the other percentage of the crowd
00:07:45are the ones that are still undecided, because it's still very early days.
00:07:49You know, when you think about the amount of people,
00:07:51the players that come into the club,
00:07:52he has to get that little bit of kind of balance between or this,
00:07:56don't get caught up in it, and then focus on what he can control.
00:07:58Well, on that point, you know, controlling the team
00:08:01and trying to get the best out of them and tinkering with them,
00:08:04do you have sympathy?
00:08:05Because he's now living in a period where there is no time for any manager these days,
00:08:12whether it's north, south of the border, right across Europe, globally,
00:08:15you know, you only have to look at, you know, Graham Potter,
00:08:17you know, bumped at the weekend and then replace 48 hours later.
00:08:23There's no time.
00:08:24No, I totally agree.
00:08:25One of the things that he keeps saying is we have to keep believing the process.
00:08:29The process has to accelerate, Peter,
00:08:32because you can't afford that Rangers to go one game,
00:08:35lose a game, draw a game and things.
00:08:37You need to gather momentum.
00:08:39And by momentum, what happens is you shift the perspective onto the opposition.
00:08:42And if Celtic start dropping points like they did at the weekend,
00:08:45if you're on a four or five game run, you can,
00:08:48we know how the city works, it's like a pendulum,
00:08:50and then you can bat it over the road.
00:08:51But at the moment, it's just firmly at his door.
00:08:54And it's only through winning games can you then kick on
00:08:57and then try and kind of get some sort of parity,
00:09:00try and get some more fans back on board.
00:09:02What was it like for you emotionally?
00:09:04Because it's different for Philippe Clement because he's not a Rangers fan.
00:09:07Yeah, but Peter, see the thing,
00:09:09I see this Rangers fan, what if you're a Rangers fan?
00:09:12Or whether you're the guy at the...
00:09:14Because the thing is, he carries a can for everything.
00:09:17At that particular time, there was no director of football,
00:09:19no CEO, you know, there was no chairman.
00:09:22So it was an actual mess.
00:09:23So he was a figurehead.
00:09:25So whether you're a Rangers fan or not,
00:09:26you're the guy that then gets the scrutiny.
00:09:28Every word that's said in the media
00:09:29is then kind of dissected as we do on a weekly basis.
00:09:33So the pressure is really on there,
00:09:35whether you're a Rangers fan or not.
00:09:37But I take your point on board
00:09:38because I've obviously got the emotional attachment to Rangers.
00:09:42But it was very, very difficult.
00:09:44You need a tin helmet.
00:09:45But I knew that when I come back.
00:09:47And it's interesting, when I first came back,
00:09:48when I was 34, we had a really poor start.
00:09:51I think we drew up at Aberdeen,
00:09:53competing by Celtic,
00:09:54getting knocked out of Europe by CSK Moscow.
00:09:57And the actual scrutiny,
00:09:58and it was tin helmet stuff,
00:09:59and you're going, oh my God,
00:10:00I've played nearly 600 games.
00:10:02I've never experienced pressure like that.
00:10:04So until you're in the firing line,
00:10:07it's non-stop,
00:10:08and it's every three days, Peter, at Rangers.
00:10:10So it's no use if you can go from Saturday to Saturday.
00:10:13You know, everybody's scrutinising every couple of days.
00:10:15You're fronted up at the media.
00:10:17Anything you're said out of turn,
00:10:20people are on it like a rash,
00:10:21depending on how results are.
00:10:22So results will dictate everything
00:10:24that's going on at Rangers and Celtic for that matter.
00:10:26Yeah, what about the positives of the performance, Ruffey?
00:10:28Because, you know,
00:10:30much maligned as he is at times,
00:10:32you know, I think people will look back and say,
00:10:36OK, James Tavernier's career's come to an end.
00:10:40Let's see if we can find another 130-plus goals right back.
00:10:45Boy, that's going to be difficult.
00:10:46He scored a good goal at the weekend.
00:10:47It was amazing.
00:10:49You know, you're looking at the build-up of that goal,
00:10:51and the ball goes wide and that,
00:10:52and all of a sudden the ball comes into the box,
00:10:54and Tavernier's in there.
00:10:54And you go, where did he come from?
00:10:56Where did he get in there?
00:10:57Ruffey, did you actually see his movement?
00:10:59Aye, he followed it.
00:11:01He followed it and followed it.
00:11:01But he actually burst into the box,
00:11:03and then it was obviously when he went back to the back post,
00:11:05he'd be a just...
00:11:06But the actual, for his age,
00:11:07the desire to actually get in there to score,
00:11:09I thought it was really impressive.
00:11:10It was superb, you know.
00:11:11But it just shows you where Rangers are
00:11:12at this precise moment in time.
00:11:14If they hadn't have been the way things are happening
00:11:16on the park, off the park,
00:11:19would you have seen celebrations like that
00:11:21at the end of a 2-1-1 against Livingston?
00:11:23Ordinary?
00:11:24It just shows you the pressure that everybody's in,
00:11:28and to get a win like that,
00:11:30you're going to celebrate it.
00:11:31OK, slight negative penalty.
00:11:33Before he actually took it,
00:11:36I'm sitting there,
00:11:37and you know how you always,
00:11:39with your mates,
00:11:39you always like to call the penalty.
00:11:41Left, right.
00:11:42So I'm going,
00:11:43keeper's top right.
00:11:44That's his favourite place.
00:11:45Top right, keeper can't save it.
00:11:47And he goes down the middle
00:11:49with the worst penalty I've seen him taking in a long time.
00:11:52Yeah, yeah.
00:11:53You expect him to score that, Peter.
00:11:54He's got a great record at penalty kicks.
00:11:56I was just listening to the radio when I was coming home.
00:11:58But yeah,
00:11:59as the guy said,
00:12:00he's a phenomenal goal-scoring record
00:12:02to the right back.
00:12:03Penalties,
00:12:03you'd put your hat on him.
00:12:05But going back to the other,
00:12:06the goal disallowed,
00:12:08I thought that was a great call for the referee.
00:12:09I thought it controlled it with his hand.
00:12:11It was at Cornelius,
00:12:12and he put it in.
00:12:12And I thought the referee got most of the decisions right.
00:12:17John Beaton.
00:12:18John Beaton.
00:12:19I thought Rangers' first half were excellent,
00:12:21as the guys I've touched on.
00:12:22I thought they played really, really well.
00:12:23Second half,
00:12:24they came out and it was just,
00:12:25it was a totally different team.
00:12:27And Livingston came out and really got on top of it.
00:12:28But,
00:12:29as Alex said,
00:12:30they just won the game.
00:12:312-1,
00:12:32got up the road,
00:12:33take another game off
00:12:34and go into the next game.
00:12:34That's all Rangers and Russell Martin can do at the minute,
00:12:36just keep winning week by week.
00:12:37Yeah,
00:12:38interestingly enough,
00:12:38and it's only right and proper that I should read out some of the points on this one.
00:12:45Brian Spence says,
00:12:46it should have been 3-0 in the first half,
00:12:48then Rangers never come out for the first half hour of the second half.
00:12:52A relief,
00:12:53but a hard watch in the second half.
00:12:55Rangers are still weak at the back.
00:12:59I would just say,
00:13:00I think,
00:13:00I'm going to analyse every goal they're lost,
00:13:03but if you shut your eyes,
00:13:04you think any ball that comes into the box,
00:13:06it's a bit of a panic,
00:13:07you know,
00:13:08okay,
00:13:09they get caught underneath that one at the weekend there,
00:13:11but it seems to be good deliveries into the ball.
00:13:14And there are a lot of good deliveries going into the box.
00:13:16Sometimes it's very difficult to defend them,
00:13:18but they don't seem to be defending the quality ball into the box very well.
00:13:23That's one of the bugbears for me,
00:13:24Peter.
00:13:25Yeah.
00:13:25Not stopping the ball coming into the box.
00:13:26I think it was far too easy that he actually delivers that in,
00:13:30and then he just peels off the back of John Suter,
00:13:32I think it was.
00:13:32Yeah,
00:13:33but I mean,
00:13:33initially,
00:13:35and I think of some of the,
00:13:36the really good teams or the methodical teams that have been put together over the last,
00:13:43what,
00:13:4325 years,
00:13:44Celtic and Rangers,
00:13:45and that is the basics.
00:13:47Yeah,
00:13:47stop at the sauce.
00:13:48You know,
00:13:48stop the ball coming into the box.
00:13:50I mean,
00:13:50I think,
00:13:50I think,
00:13:51if you think of Walter and you think of Martin O'Neill,
00:13:54I used to watch them go tonto at the side of the pitch,
00:13:59you know,
00:13:59because quite simply,
00:14:00when that ball's over on those flanks,
00:14:02Tam,
00:14:03you know,
00:14:03close them down,
00:14:04don't give them the space,
00:14:05don't give them the chance to shift,
00:14:06to put that ball into the box.
00:14:08Because that was,
00:14:09yeah,
00:14:09that's a full-back,
00:14:10should be their first job,
00:14:11is to stop a cross coming in,
00:14:12but now it's not.
00:14:13In the modern day,
00:14:14it's,
00:14:14can you get forward?
00:14:15Can you,
00:14:15can you create?
00:14:16Can you score goals?
00:14:17Get crosses in?
00:14:19Whereas,
00:14:1915,
00:14:2020,
00:14:2025 years ago,
00:14:21full-back's main job was stop the winger,
00:14:23stop the winger getting by you,
00:14:24stop the winger crossing the ball in.
00:14:25So,
00:14:25yeah,
00:14:26it's totally changed now,
00:14:27Peter,
00:14:27and it was a great ball in from Montgomery,
00:14:29the in-swinger,
00:14:29you know,
00:14:30a great ball in,
00:14:30but Alex Wright,
00:14:31you've got to stop the ball coming in.
00:14:32It's very difficult,
00:14:33Tam,
00:14:33you obviously played up front,
00:14:34so see the thing is,
00:14:35ideally,
00:14:36if you're a centre-half,
00:14:37you would want to try and get some sort of contact with the boy scoring goal,
00:14:42you know,
00:14:42for him to actually not,
00:14:43just peeled off the back.
00:14:44That's what I'm saying,
00:14:45so you need contact with him,
00:14:46so you know when he moved,
00:14:47that then you can then get some sort of contact to try and get him off balance.
00:14:50Free header from that distance,
00:14:52that would be a concern.
00:14:53Yeah,
00:14:53absolutely.
00:14:54Are you filled with optimism,
00:14:57about the,
00:14:59you know,
00:14:59having then to try and go and lift it again for Europe?
00:15:03Yeah,
00:15:03well listen,
00:15:03the European games,
00:15:05it may well help them as well,
00:15:06that are away from home,
00:15:07you know,
00:15:07maybe better suited in the transition.
00:15:10So,
00:15:10again,
00:15:11they'll need to try and get the campaign up and running,
00:15:12because you don't want to lose your first couple of games.
00:15:15Yeah,
00:15:16we'll talk about the European games shortly,
00:15:19but it was a 2-1 win for Rangers.
00:15:21Give us your thoughts on it.
00:15:23Quite a view point from our live feed is,
00:15:27that it's a stay of execution for Russell Martin.
00:15:30He's still not winning over the hard core of the Rangers' support.
00:15:34They won't change,
00:15:35but the general feeling is he's going to get the time,
00:15:39you know,
00:15:39and if each result like that just buys him a bit more.
00:15:42Yeah,
00:15:42we haven't heard the owner coming out and saying anything otherwise.
00:15:48You know,
00:15:48it seems to be Russell has meetings with the owner,
00:15:51as you do,
00:15:51and he seems to be giving the reassurances.
00:15:54You know,
00:15:54the owner seems to be strong enough to put the boon to the back burner,
00:15:59and just say,
00:16:00look,
00:16:00carry on,
00:16:00get us wins,
00:16:01get us on a run,
00:16:02and that's what he has to do.
00:16:04Yeah.
00:16:05By the way,
00:16:05hearts are top of the table.
00:16:06We're going to talk about the game shortly,
00:16:08because,
00:16:09quite simply,
00:16:10Celtic slipped up at home against Hibirnian.
00:16:12This is what Brendan Rodgers had to say about the silence that was going on.
00:16:17The Celtic fans certainly not happy with it.
00:16:20I can only focus on the football.
00:16:22That's the challenge for me at the moment,
00:16:24to give the supporters the belief that we will continue to improve,
00:16:27and I think they would have liked that performance.
00:16:29Obviously,
00:16:30they would have loved to have won the game,
00:16:31and I want people to be coming away and talking about the football and the performance,
00:16:34rather than the protests and the silence.
00:16:37After the 12th minute,
00:16:38you felt the support and the lift,
00:16:40which can make all the difference.
00:16:43So,
00:16:44what is the,
00:16:45what is the,
00:16:46by the way,
00:16:46I'd have to tell you,
00:16:47there's a slight technical hitch there.
00:16:49I actually think,
00:16:51I think over,
00:16:51I think we're waiting.
00:16:52End of the road,
00:16:53sort of railway.
00:16:54I was waiting on,
00:16:55I was waiting on the curtains coming across,
00:16:58and then,
00:16:58you know,
00:16:58Alec was a great lad,
00:17:00you know,
00:17:01tributes are tripling.
00:17:03I think that wasn't hooked up a year.
00:17:04Wi-Fi.
00:17:05It's been a saver.
00:17:06So,
00:17:07hopefully,
00:17:07you can see our backdrop is now working,
00:17:10slight technical hitch there.
00:17:11But,
00:17:12you know,
00:17:13silence,
00:17:14I mean,
00:17:15I applaud
00:17:17Celtic fans,
00:17:20any fans,
00:17:21who've got the right to be within reason,
00:17:22without being abusive,
00:17:23the right to show their protest.
00:17:26I just can't see where this is going,
00:17:29this silence.
00:17:31What,
00:17:31what,
00:17:31what has it changed?
00:17:32Because,
00:17:33this board is not going to give them anything.
00:17:35They will not say a thing to them.
00:17:37No,
00:17:38they're not going to move aside.
00:17:39There's no doubt about that.
00:17:40The,
00:17:40the only thing,
00:17:41you hope,
00:17:42would get through is,
00:17:43look,
00:17:44don't make a mess it in January.
00:17:46If,
00:17:46Ben and Rodgers wants players in,
00:17:48get it organised.
00:17:49Shows that,
00:17:50you're listening to what we're saying.
00:17:52Shows you're listening to the protest.
00:17:54Shows that,
00:17:55it's getting through to you.
00:17:57And I think that's the only thing they're going to get,
00:17:58because there's not one of them going to walk away.
00:18:00So,
00:18:01they have to get it right in January.
00:18:03They had chances,
00:18:04Celtic.
00:18:04I mean,
00:18:05they dominated.
00:18:05A barrel load.
00:18:06Yeah.
00:18:06Yeah,
00:18:07I actually thought they were really impressive,
00:18:08Gordon.
00:18:09Peter,
00:18:10the way that they shift the ball,
00:18:12the way they get in behind teams,
00:18:13the way they flash it across the goals,
00:18:15they have a variation of phases of play,
00:18:18which actually calved the opposition.
00:18:20The only thing that would be disappointing for him was,
00:18:22on the day,
00:18:24Iron Natural's chance is just guilt-edged really,
00:18:26isn't it,
00:18:26when it comes around the face.
00:18:28But,
00:18:29I think,
00:18:30overall,
00:18:31in terms of the performance,
00:18:32it's a very typical Celtic performance,
00:18:34very dominant with the ball possession,
00:18:36and created.
00:18:37They just weren't clinical on the day.
00:18:38But,
00:18:39I think if you continue to play in the manner that they do,
00:18:42they will win more games than not.
00:18:44Yeah.
00:18:45You know what I'm like with you,
00:18:46because I've worked with you for such a long time as well.
00:18:48But,
00:18:49Gordon Duncan's five stone lighter than me,
00:18:52right?
00:18:52He only kept one foot.
00:18:54No,
00:18:54I know,
00:18:55I know.
00:18:55He's very easy to mark out of a game.
00:18:59There's a big difference between the two of us,
00:19:01by the way.
00:19:01In the trenches,
00:19:02if somebody was...
00:19:03I'm coming for you,
00:19:04all right,
00:19:04all right.
00:19:05If somebody was in Denison,
00:19:07right?
00:19:07If there's two boys in Denison,
00:19:09and they're battering lops out of you,
00:19:10who do you want to see?
00:19:12I know,
00:19:12I know.
00:19:13Is it Gordon Duncan from Radio Play?
00:19:14No,
00:19:14it's you.
00:19:15It's you.
00:19:15I'll cause you're here,
00:19:16I'm saying,
00:19:17sure.
00:19:19I just had a brain to be easier.
00:19:20Do you know what this reminds me of,
00:19:21by the way?
00:19:22Remember the day we were on STV,
00:19:24and he was in the studio,
00:19:25and we're just about to come back from a break,
00:19:27and he goes...
00:19:29And he tried,
00:19:29you know,
00:19:30and the two of us,
00:19:31and you get caught.
00:19:32And the two,
00:19:32Ruffy and I look went,
00:19:34what are you fixing your hair for?
00:19:35You haven't got any hair.
00:19:36What are you doing?
00:19:38You've got some memory,
00:19:39man.
00:19:39Oh,
00:19:40honestly.
00:19:40As soon as he said that,
00:19:41I thought to myself,
00:19:42can you believe him,
00:19:43after all we've been through?
00:19:44I don't know.
00:19:46Anyway,
00:19:47what did you make of the Emmys?
00:19:49Listen,
00:19:50I think they got what they went for,
00:19:52Peter.
00:19:52I think when you look at Hibs over the last,
00:19:54I've been watching most of their games,
00:19:55I've watched Oil all season,
00:19:57basically,
00:19:57and the goals they've lost have been terrible.
00:20:00You know,
00:20:00against Falkert during the week,
00:20:01they lost two poor goals.
00:20:03I always felt they were going to go to Parkhead
00:20:04and shut up shop,
00:20:05and just say,
00:20:06break us down.
00:20:07You know,
00:20:07they probably watched a game during the week,
00:20:09Celtic against Red Style Belgrade,
00:20:10and Celtic didn't break them down.
00:20:13The Cairo-Atlmati games,
00:20:14they couldn't break them down at Parkhead.
00:20:15So I just think Hibs just used that template
00:20:17to try and break them down.
00:20:19I thought Grant Hanley was outstanding.
00:20:20I thought the goalkeeper was outstanding.
00:20:22I thought Bowie up front was outstanding.
00:20:24You know,
00:20:24done a lot of unseen donkey work,
00:20:26and was good at set plays against.
00:20:28So,
00:20:28no,
00:20:28I think it's a great point for Hibs.
00:20:30You know,
00:20:30you're starting to get concerned
00:20:31if Hibs go there and get beat again.
00:20:33You're thinking,
00:20:33we've only won one game this season.
00:20:35But,
00:20:36you know,
00:20:36I think it's six games,
00:20:37five draws,
00:20:38one-one.
00:20:38Unbeaten.
00:20:39So,
00:20:40obviously a big game coming up against
00:20:41Hearts at the weekend,
00:20:42but I thought Celtic first half
00:20:43should have been two or three up,
00:20:44no doubt about that.
00:20:45Second half,
00:20:46I thought the substitutions at Celtic made,
00:20:47made them weaker.
00:20:48And in the last 20 minutes,
00:20:49usually you look at a game,
00:20:50you go,
00:20:51Celtic will break them down,
00:20:52Celtic will score.
00:20:53I never got that feeling with Celtic.
00:20:54But the first time in the way,
00:20:55I thought,
00:20:56I fancy Hibs to see this out of here.
00:20:57And they did.
00:20:58Because we're bringing,
00:20:59no disrespect guys like Johnny Kenny,
00:21:01James Forrest on you.
00:21:02You're just thinking,
00:21:03no,
00:21:03it's not like for like now with Celtic.
00:21:04They're weaker when they bring
00:21:05their substitutions for me.
00:21:06And that front three,
00:21:08the way you set them up by an actual middle,
00:21:11Maeda right?
00:21:12Yeah,
00:21:13I actually said that last week.
00:21:14I thought that's what you might have done.
00:21:15I thought Maeda was more lively,
00:21:17definitely,
00:21:18in the first half,
00:21:18you know,
00:21:19playing down that side.
00:21:20Barlet Wiesher come on again
00:21:21was poor,
00:21:22Peter.
00:21:22You know,
00:21:23and you can sense a wee bit of frustration
00:21:25for the Celtic fans already towards him.
00:21:26Yeah.
00:21:27He's not doing it.
00:21:28I don't think he's got a trick.
00:21:29No,
00:21:29he's too safe,
00:21:30Peter.
00:21:30And as a wide player,
00:21:32you know,
00:21:32if you're 1v1,
00:21:33just go at him.
00:21:34Just go at him.
00:21:35He seems to be just coming back inside.
00:21:36I don't know if he's lacking confidence
00:21:37at the minute,
00:21:38Peter,
00:21:38and you do that as a forward player
00:21:39or a wide player.
00:21:40If you've no good confidence,
00:21:41you're not trying to make a mistake
00:21:42and he needs to be more positive,
00:21:44I think,
00:21:45going forward.
00:21:45Here's a thing that kind of does my head in
00:21:48and you will be able to comment on this
00:21:51from the way you,
00:21:52the players that you played with
00:21:54and the message,
00:21:56and I think this is the most important thing,
00:21:58which is the message from the manager,
00:22:00which is basically,
00:22:02you're safe midfielders who play at square
00:22:04and then you've got the guy
00:22:06who gets the ball
00:22:06and he looks up
00:22:07and he goes,
00:22:08well,
00:22:08I'm not going to commit,
00:22:09I'm not going to push forward
00:22:10and try and get,
00:22:11you know,
00:22:11try and get a two-on-one
00:22:12in a sense of a position.
00:22:13Yeah, an overload, yeah.
00:22:13Yeah,
00:22:14so what you get,
00:22:15you get a situation
00:22:15where they go for safe balls
00:22:17or they play the ball back.
00:22:19In contrast to that,
00:22:20I don't know what
00:22:20Jens Berthalasko
00:22:22is saying to the Motherwell players,
00:22:23but when they get the ball,
00:22:24automatically forward.
00:22:26Play forward,
00:22:27run forward.
00:22:27Yes.
00:22:28That's it, Peter.
00:22:29You're absolutely right
00:22:30and that's a real frustration
00:22:32for me these days
00:22:34because a lot of players
00:22:35are all possession-based
00:22:36and the teams
00:22:37with the intensity
00:22:38play forward.
00:22:39You know,
00:22:39you look at Callum McGregor
00:22:40over his tenure at Celtic,
00:22:42he loves to just get the ball.
00:22:43He ticks it,
00:22:44keeps it,
00:22:44moves it,
00:22:45gets to the other side,
00:22:46looks to penetrate.
00:22:46So you need,
00:22:47I know exactly what you're talking about
00:22:48and they're invaluable,
00:22:50these guys,
00:22:50but then you also need
00:22:51the runners as well.
00:22:52So if you can get the players,
00:22:53because it's not just
00:22:54in possession where you,
00:22:56you know,
00:22:56I'll just keep possession,
00:22:58but you've got to make
00:22:58unselfish runs,
00:22:59you've got to be brave runs,
00:23:00running behind,
00:23:01unselfish,
00:23:02so then someone else
00:23:03can release you.
00:23:04So I agree with you,
00:23:05I think there's a lot of players
00:23:06that are safe at the moment.
00:23:07Yeah,
00:23:08absolutely.
00:23:08And by the way,
00:23:09the other thing,
00:23:10Ruffy,
00:23:10which we also discussed
00:23:12just ahead of the games
00:23:14at the weekend was
00:23:15there was a Stonewall
00:23:16certainty he was going to
00:23:17drop Rocky Bashiri
00:23:18because I think
00:23:19he had to go back.
00:23:21He had a birthday child
00:23:22and he wasn't dropped.
00:23:24He may have been dropped.
00:23:26We said we'd be able to tell.
00:23:27It was a blessing.
00:23:28No harm to him
00:23:29because he's a certain
00:23:30level of defender,
00:23:31but I think when you come up
00:23:32against quality teams,
00:23:34you're looking,
00:23:34I think he's prone to a mistake
00:23:36and Hanley just came in
00:23:38and blocked everything.
00:23:39Yeah,
00:23:39he's not as disciplined
00:23:40as Hanley.
00:23:41He seems to chase the game.
00:23:43He wants to make great tackles.
00:23:44You know,
00:23:45he's got that robust thing
00:23:46about him,
00:23:47but in the last two or three games
00:23:48he has been posted missing.
00:23:51Like Hanley.
00:23:51Like Hanley.
00:23:52I think Hanley's good
00:23:53if it's depending
00:23:55on what style of play
00:23:56the other team's playing.
00:23:58At the weekend there,
00:23:59at the weekend
00:24:00it suited him
00:24:01because just as you've said,
00:24:03Celtic get the ball wide.
00:24:04You know it's coming in.
00:24:05Of course, yeah.
00:24:05You know it's coming in
00:24:06near post
00:24:06or you know it's getting
00:24:07flashed across
00:24:08and he's got the experience
00:24:10to read these situations.
00:24:12I think Masheera
00:24:13was the last two games,
00:24:14wasn't he?
00:24:14Wasn't he picking up
00:24:15and he was getting caught away?
00:24:16He was one of these guys
00:24:18in centre-halves
00:24:19who don't want to be
00:24:19away out wide
00:24:20and he was getting
00:24:21caught out wide
00:24:22far too many.
00:24:22What about this point here
00:24:24which is SK says
00:24:26Rangers are a point
00:24:27behind Hibs
00:24:28and yet Hibs are still
00:24:29getting praise
00:24:30for the start to the season.
00:24:33It's a great way
00:24:33you can...
00:24:34It's how you spin it.
00:24:35Yeah, absolutely.
00:24:36It's a fantastic way
00:24:37plus of course
00:24:37expectation
00:24:38as well here.
00:24:40You know,
00:24:41there was a wee bit
00:24:42of what I would say
00:24:43with people looking
00:24:44and saying
00:24:44wait a minute Hibs
00:24:45you know,
00:24:46you've got a lot of praise
00:24:47but you know
00:24:48you're out of Europe
00:24:49you need to start producing
00:24:51for all the expectations
00:24:53that's surrounding them.
00:24:54Yeah, I think obviously
00:24:55with Hart's doing so well
00:24:56as well
00:24:56it just adds more pressure.
00:24:57Compounds it.
00:24:58You know,
00:24:59it compounds it
00:25:00in my opinion
00:25:02a poor start to the season
00:25:02for Hibs.
00:25:03I've seen them
00:25:04in the European games
00:25:04you watched them as well
00:25:05they were excellent
00:25:06and you're thinking
00:25:06Hibs can go and do something
00:25:07this season
00:25:08they're going to challenge
00:25:08for third
00:25:09or possibly even second
00:25:10and losing the two-goal lead
00:25:12at Falkirk during the week
00:25:13there was
00:25:13I wouldn't say pressure
00:25:15on the manager
00:25:15but there was a view
00:25:16Hibs support
00:25:16I was mumbling about them
00:25:17so I think that
00:25:18they go there
00:25:19they get a great point
00:25:20they've got another
00:25:20massive game
00:25:21coming up at the weekend
00:25:22at Tynecastle
00:25:22so yeah,
00:25:24I think if Hibs can keep
00:25:24that defensive shape
00:25:25and that discipline
00:25:27at the back
00:25:27they've always got goals
00:25:28in them
00:25:28obviously bar the weekend
00:25:29it was a tough game
00:25:30but Hibs have been
00:25:31scoring a lot of goals
00:25:32this season
00:25:32creating chances
00:25:33but they've been
00:25:33poor at the back
00:25:34so if they can go
00:25:35to Tynecastle
00:25:36and put in a similar
00:25:36performance defensively
00:25:37they can go and get a result.
00:25:38Yeah, the interesting thing
00:25:39that you mentioned
00:25:40is a throwaway line there
00:25:42you know when we're
00:25:43talking about people
00:25:44going silent
00:25:45and something's got to
00:25:47change in the attitude
00:25:48and the strategy
00:25:49of the Celtic board
00:25:51I don't know
00:25:53if there's any
00:25:53expectation
00:25:54on either side
00:25:56Celtic or Rangers
00:25:57to go deep
00:25:58into these competitions
00:25:59because
00:26:00although I think
00:26:01Europa League
00:26:02is their level
00:26:02I don't see
00:26:04anything that suggests
00:26:05to me
00:26:06long term
00:26:07you've got a disgruntled
00:26:07manager
00:26:08you know
00:26:08peeved that he didn't
00:26:09get the players he wanted
00:26:10and you've got another
00:26:11manager just fighting
00:26:12for his life
00:26:13and Celtic have got
00:26:14braggartised.
00:26:15I would imagine
00:26:17that Celtic would think
00:26:18they could go
00:26:18to the later stages
00:26:20with the personnel
00:26:22and see that
00:26:23Which members of Celtic
00:26:24the manager?
00:26:25I would just think
00:26:26as a club
00:26:27and the money
00:26:28that they've spent
00:26:28in the last year
00:26:29you would like to think
00:26:31that they could compete
00:26:32with teams that they're
00:26:33coming up against
00:26:34now obviously
00:26:34that transfer window
00:26:36in the summer there
00:26:37was probably not as well
00:26:38as they would have expected
00:26:39see if they can get through
00:26:41to the kind of
00:26:42the play-off game
00:26:43or even you know
00:26:44the top eight
00:26:45will be a tough ass
00:26:46for them
00:26:47to get an automatic
00:26:48buy there
00:26:48but see if they can get
00:26:49through and then
00:26:50they add a couple
00:26:51in January
00:26:52I don't think
00:26:53that's beyond Celtic's realms
00:26:54do you know what I think?
00:26:56To try and
00:26:56the top 24 of this
00:26:58His point is
00:26:58the time you get to January
00:26:59they've got to back
00:27:00the manager
00:27:00they won't back
00:27:01the manager in January
00:27:02because what the board
00:27:03will say is
00:27:03oh January
00:27:04tough window
00:27:04can't get it
00:27:05No
00:27:05but the thing is
00:27:07then you've also got
00:27:07how do the fans
00:27:09then react to that
00:27:10another
00:27:11kind of
00:27:12barren window
00:27:13they might be going
00:27:14because Celtic have often
00:27:15went down to the Premier League
00:27:16and nicked a
00:27:17a lone player
00:27:19you know they've done that
00:27:20over the years
00:27:21but
00:27:21somebody who's sitting
00:27:22gathering dust on the bench
00:27:23absolutely
00:27:23they'll get
00:27:24Raheem Sterling's been mentioned
00:27:26obviously he's own 300 grand
00:27:27but
00:27:27you know
00:27:28if you could maybe
00:27:29pay 10 grand towards that
00:27:31yeah
00:27:31I was actually just
00:27:35going to say
00:27:36come on Ali
00:27:37no well I'm telling you
00:27:37you think I'm joking
00:27:39didn't you
00:27:39we paid £6,000
00:27:40towards a player
00:27:41who was on
00:27:42£128,000 a week
00:27:43that is magnificent
00:27:46there you go
00:27:46yeah
00:27:47that's the true
00:27:48£6,000 towards
00:27:49£128,000 a week
00:27:51and we got the boy
00:27:52and we also had
00:27:53a sidekick
00:27:54are you talking at Rangers
00:27:55no
00:27:55no
00:27:56another club
00:27:56no no it was at Reading
00:27:57and then we also had
00:27:59another player from
00:28:00Chelsea as well
00:28:01he was on 55
00:28:03we had a sale on
00:28:04£6,000
00:28:04that's all we could pay
00:28:05so £12,000 for the
00:28:06both of them
00:28:07and I think it worth
00:28:08£280,000 a week
00:28:10they were pocketing
00:28:10and just out of curiosity
00:28:11when you were sitting
00:28:12on the bench
00:28:13I'm like I get back
00:28:14he's driving away
00:28:15and he's barely comparable
00:28:16when you were sitting
00:28:17on the bench
00:28:18and he's thinking
00:28:18he's playing well
00:28:19for £6,000 isn't he
00:28:20did he look like
00:28:22a £128,000 player
00:28:23Pete I can't speak
00:28:24highly enough about him
00:28:25he was absolutely
00:28:26tremendous a boy
00:28:27what was his name
00:28:28it was Danny Drinkwater
00:28:29wow
00:28:30Danny Drinkwater
00:28:31as you know
00:28:31he won the Premier League
00:28:32and he was brilliant
00:28:33his attitude was excellent
00:28:34done a really good turn
00:28:35for us
00:28:35and then we actually
00:28:37tried to get him
00:28:37the following summer
00:28:38but it never quite
00:28:39materialised
00:28:40and the £55,000 player
00:28:41steady away
00:28:43yeah
00:28:43it's funny how you said
00:28:47you said Bentley
00:28:49convertible there
00:28:50I remember
00:28:50a Ranger Celtic game
00:28:52we were at
00:28:53Ibrox
00:28:54and we were standing
00:28:55at the railings
00:28:55across the road
00:28:56and the wee boy
00:28:57that was playing
00:28:58with Rangers
00:28:59that came to the hearts
00:29:00came out
00:29:00and he's Bentley convertible
00:29:01Ian Black
00:29:01aye
00:29:03what a memory
00:29:04you've got for that
00:29:05it's incredible
00:29:06that's where all the
00:29:07heavy hutters stand
00:29:07outside Ibrox
00:29:08that's where Ruffy is
00:29:09that was getting
00:29:10out of the road
00:29:10he's got your
00:29:12mini metro
00:29:13can I also tell you
00:29:15Billy big time here
00:29:16because his wife
00:29:17reviews cars
00:29:18he'd come up
00:29:19and chat up the door
00:29:19one day
00:29:20he'd say come on
00:29:20we'll go to a junior game
00:29:21to see Les Mahego
00:29:22and he'd come up
00:29:23on a Bentley convertible
00:29:24is that right?
00:29:25I mean
00:29:25obviously wasn't mine
00:29:26we got a
00:29:28put a drive
00:29:29we got a
00:29:31puncture
00:29:31Lesley
00:29:31we're at Lesley
00:29:33Hager Jr
00:29:33Scottish Cup time
00:29:34I'm just
00:29:35just getting there
00:29:35and we got a puncture
00:29:36I says to the wife
00:29:38what happens now
00:29:38is the boy jump out
00:29:39of the boot
00:29:39and fix it
00:29:40for the money
00:29:41on 80 grand
00:29:42but I can't see
00:29:44just on that point
00:29:46Celtic Braga
00:29:47well within the realms
00:29:49as Alex says
00:29:49to mention it
00:29:50but do you see
00:29:50I think Rangers
00:29:52and
00:29:53I think I'm going to be honest
00:29:56about it
00:29:56there's more chance
00:29:57of Brendan Rodgers
00:29:58getting something
00:29:58out of the Celtic side
00:29:59as you say
00:30:00to get some good
00:30:01scalps along the way
00:30:02I wonder about Rangers
00:30:04they don't have any
00:30:05credentials
00:30:06this squad
00:30:07this is a completely
00:30:08changed Rangers side
00:30:09but I think
00:30:09like we saw last year
00:30:11the way this
00:30:11new competition
00:30:13is structured
00:30:14if you win your
00:30:15three home games
00:30:16and get a point
00:30:16away from home
00:30:17you're there
00:30:17or thereabouts
00:30:18now you're up there
00:30:19so your home games
00:30:20are really really
00:30:21important
00:30:22and you have to say
00:30:23Rangers and Celtic
00:30:24if they're playing
00:30:25particularly well
00:30:26the teams that
00:30:27they're coming up
00:30:28against
00:30:28they should have
00:30:30a good chance
00:30:30of winning them
00:30:31at home
00:30:31OK
00:30:32let's talk about
00:30:33the champions
00:30:33hearts
00:30:34OK
00:30:37his face
00:30:37I'm your jets
00:30:40they're top of the table
00:30:413-0 win over Falkirk
00:30:42and by the way
00:30:43our reporter
00:30:43Cara was there
00:30:44she said they looked
00:30:45impressive
00:30:45yeah
00:30:46I've seen the highlights
00:30:47last night Peter
00:30:48and
00:30:48is it
00:30:49Cursidius
00:30:50the winger
00:30:51Cursidius
00:30:51he looks a real find
00:30:53having Braga
00:30:54just playing off
00:30:55of Shankland
00:30:55no legs energy
00:30:56and Shankland
00:30:57looks rejuvenated
00:30:58under Derek McInnes
00:30:59as well
00:30:59two days go well
00:31:00so hearts are flying
00:31:01gone really well
00:31:02good experienced squad
00:31:03owners come in
00:31:04everything he touches
00:31:05Tony Bloom
00:31:06turns to gold
00:31:06so if you're
00:31:08a Celtic Rangers fan
00:31:11you're thinking
00:31:11hearts might actually
00:31:12do something
00:31:13but they've got to
00:31:13keep it up
00:31:14they've got to sustain it
00:31:15they've got a big game
00:31:16at the weekend
00:31:16against Hibs
00:31:17but comfortable win
00:31:17deservedly so
00:31:18Derek McInnes
00:31:19showing everyone
00:31:20that he's a top manager
00:31:22I think there was
00:31:23a few Rangers supporters
00:31:24turned their nose up
00:31:25at him
00:31:25potentially going to Rangers
00:31:26turned their nose up
00:31:27at Long Shankland
00:31:28potentially going to Rangers
00:31:30look at them now
00:31:31look where Rangers are now
00:31:32so I think both of them
00:31:33would have been excellent
00:31:34for Rangers
00:31:34but in terms of hearts
00:31:36their fans will be
00:31:37getting excited now
00:31:38if they can beat Hibs
00:31:38at the weekend
00:31:39yeah and of course
00:31:40Derek's well aware
00:31:41that everybody's waiting
00:31:42for them to fall
00:31:43I don't think so
00:31:44as I said before
00:31:45you'll get
00:31:48maybe a lot of people
00:31:50hoping that somebody
00:31:51can go in
00:31:51and do something
00:31:52but the majority
00:31:54of people out there
00:31:54they want us to get beat
00:31:56and I'm alright with that
00:31:57they don't want hearts
00:31:59they want hearts
00:31:59put in a place
00:32:00everybody who's used
00:32:02to doing certain things
00:32:03and winning games
00:32:04and nobody
00:32:05really I don't think
00:32:06genuinely believes
00:32:07we can
00:32:08mount a challenge
00:32:10and for us
00:32:11it's all about
00:32:13just dealing
00:32:13with the games
00:32:14exactly
00:32:14somebody's mentioned
00:32:16there's no disgrace
00:32:18coming here
00:32:18getting beat 3-0
00:32:20under the circumstances
00:32:21the hearts are
00:32:21kind of flying
00:32:22and we'll not be
00:32:23the first or the last
00:32:24but yeah
00:32:25we have to learn
00:32:26and we have to
00:32:26just ourselves down
00:32:27and then we move on
00:32:28and we get ready
00:32:29for the Rangers game
00:32:30next Sunday
00:32:31yeah
00:32:32they've got a couple
00:32:33of games to play
00:32:34tomorrow and then
00:32:36on Thursday
00:32:37and we'll welcome
00:32:38them to Falkert Stadium
00:32:39next Sunday
00:32:40yeah
00:32:41no disgrace
00:32:42in losing
00:32:43to Tyne Castle
00:32:44from John McGlynn's
00:32:46perspective
00:32:46we'll talk about
00:32:47Falkert's predicament
00:32:48in a moment
00:32:48but as far as
00:32:50Derek McInnes is
00:32:51concerned
00:32:51he's got
00:32:53from the couple
00:32:55of games that I've
00:32:55watched him as well
00:32:56Ruff
00:32:57he's got game
00:32:57changes from the
00:32:58bench
00:32:58yeah I was just
00:33:00going to say that
00:33:00somebody gave me
00:33:02the team sheet
00:33:03for the weekend
00:33:04and I was looking
00:33:04at it
00:33:05yeah they have
00:33:06they've got game
00:33:07changers
00:33:07I mean
00:33:08game changers
00:33:09at Hartz's level
00:33:11yeah that they
00:33:11never had before
00:33:12but certainly
00:33:13I mean
00:33:14I don't like you
00:33:15but for me
00:33:16Harry Millen
00:33:16has been absolutely
00:33:17sensational
00:33:18you know
00:33:19with Harry
00:33:19with Harry
00:33:20at Thistle
00:33:20and Derek's
00:33:22moved him into
00:33:22a wide
00:33:23an advanced wide
00:33:25and he's getting
00:33:26forward
00:33:26and he's actually
00:33:27drifting in
00:33:28and I don't know
00:33:29if you just gave him
00:33:29a free licence
00:33:30but he's certainly
00:33:31playing to his
00:33:31strengths
00:33:32and he's been
00:33:33focal to a lot
00:33:33of the stuff
00:33:34that Hartz have done
00:33:34yeah
00:33:35are you impressed
00:33:36with him
00:33:36very much so
00:33:37I like the additions
00:33:38you know I think
00:33:39at the top end
00:33:40of the pitch
00:33:41you want guys
00:33:42that can do
00:33:42a bit of magic
00:33:43Peter
00:33:43the goal that
00:33:44that boy scored
00:33:44at the weekend
00:33:45coming in off
00:33:46that left hand side
00:33:46and then
00:33:47right in the top
00:33:48corner
00:33:48I like what
00:33:49Shanklin's doing
00:33:50I actually think
00:33:50he's matured
00:33:51into a really good
00:33:52centre forward
00:33:52I think he's always
00:33:53at goals
00:33:53but he's intelligence
00:33:55bringing people
00:33:56into play
00:33:56and if you've got
00:33:57legs at either
00:33:57side of him
00:33:58the boy Braga
00:33:59looks a real find
00:34:00as well
00:34:00and it's interesting
00:34:01because when you
00:34:02think about this
00:34:02Tony Bloom
00:34:04you know kind of
00:34:04unearthing people
00:34:05from nowhere
00:34:06they seem to have
00:34:07managed to do that
00:34:08over the course
00:34:09of that last
00:34:09transfer window
00:34:10how's that going
00:34:11to look in January
00:34:11as well
00:34:12I think the next
00:34:13three games
00:34:13Hibs
00:34:15Camarnock away
00:34:16then Celtic
00:34:17will be a real
00:34:18good yardstick
00:34:19to see where
00:34:20this Arts team
00:34:20is going to go
00:34:21well interestingly
00:34:22enough and I'm
00:34:22glad you mentioned
00:34:23the games that
00:34:24they've got coming
00:34:25up because
00:34:25the only team
00:34:27I've watched
00:34:29this season
00:34:29that's given them
00:34:30an absolute doing
00:34:30is Muddle
00:34:31and they passed
00:34:32them off the park
00:34:33and then obviously
00:34:34Derek made the
00:34:35changes to try and
00:34:36bring them back
00:34:36into it and get
00:34:37the draw
00:34:37but while we're
00:34:40complimenting
00:34:40every one of the
00:34:42guys that provides
00:34:43the flare
00:34:43he's had a
00:34:45settled back
00:34:46four
00:34:46sometimes he shifts
00:34:48Milne into the
00:34:48midfield because
00:34:49Kingsley is an
00:34:50option there
00:34:51if he's making
00:34:51substitutions
00:34:52but the two
00:34:53central defenders
00:34:54have been
00:34:54something that's
00:34:55a solid for him
00:34:56he's got Halkett
00:34:57in there
00:34:58sitting there
00:34:59and he's
00:35:00producing
00:35:01he's avoiding
00:35:02the injury
00:35:02and he's also
00:35:03got his central
00:35:04midfield
00:35:05Stuart Finlay
00:35:06who is a
00:35:07steady Eddie
00:35:07I think he's a
00:35:08great signing for
00:35:09Stuart Finlay
00:35:09I've always liked
00:35:10him
00:35:10very very strong
00:35:12centre half
00:35:13and I think
00:35:14him and Halkett
00:35:14have got a good
00:35:14partnership at the
00:35:15back
00:35:15and as I said
00:35:16Halkett's always
00:35:17been a good
00:35:17footballer for me
00:35:18he's been quick
00:35:19he reads the
00:35:20game well
00:35:20but he's been
00:35:21crippled with
00:35:21injuries really
00:35:22it's really
00:35:23affected his
00:35:23career
00:35:23but yeah
00:35:24they look solid
00:35:25at the back
00:35:25another clean
00:35:26sheet of the
00:35:26weekend
00:35:27and Tynecastle's
00:35:28an intimidating
00:35:29place to go and
00:35:29play
00:35:30if you put teams
00:35:31under pressure
00:35:31early
00:35:32you get the
00:35:32early goal
00:35:33it's very
00:35:33difficult
00:35:33place to go
00:35:34and get results
00:35:35so as Alex
00:35:36said their next
00:35:36three games
00:35:37if they can go
00:35:38into that Celtic
00:35:38game still top
00:35:40of the league
00:35:40and welcome
00:35:41Celtic at home
00:35:42I think after
00:35:42an international
00:35:42break then
00:35:43you go and win
00:35:44that then people
00:35:45will be starting
00:35:46talking to them
00:35:46about those title
00:35:46team contenders
00:35:47are you going
00:35:48into the game
00:35:48at the weekend
00:35:50with a bit of
00:35:51fear
00:35:52Tynecastle
00:35:53Hearts
00:35:54at home
00:35:54no
00:35:55no
00:35:55I'm not
00:35:57no fear
00:35:57I think that
00:35:58Hibs are capable
00:35:59of going there
00:35:59and getting the
00:36:00result
00:36:00Hibs have had
00:36:01a decent record
00:36:02against Hearts
00:36:02over the last
00:36:03couple of seasons
00:36:03it's turned a wee bit
00:36:04it always goes
00:36:05swings and roundabouts
00:36:06but I'm confident
00:36:07Hibs can go there
00:36:08I think Hibs
00:36:09have got every bit
00:36:10as good a squad
00:36:11as Hearts
00:36:11yeah
00:36:11you think they'll win
00:36:12no I think it'll
00:36:14withdraw
00:36:14he built it up
00:36:17there
00:36:17what happens is
00:36:20and sometimes
00:36:20this happens
00:36:21and you'll not
00:36:22be aware of this
00:36:22Ruffy's rubbing
00:36:23half
00:36:23sometimes Ruffy
00:36:24will have a drink
00:36:25and he puts it
00:36:26down at the wrong
00:36:27position and
00:36:28whatever he's got
00:36:28in the drink
00:36:29he drinks it
00:36:30so what they do
00:36:30is they build
00:36:31a team up
00:36:31and then they go
00:36:32no I think
00:36:32they'll get bumped
00:36:33you know what I mean
00:36:34so it's a situation
00:36:36where I'll be honest
00:36:38with you
00:36:38I've been impressed
00:36:40I've gone through
00:36:41the Easter Road
00:36:42I've watched them
00:36:42I've been impressed
00:36:43with them
00:36:43sometimes a wee bit
00:36:44of you know
00:36:45it's going to be
00:36:47brilliant
00:36:47I mean I'm looking
00:36:49at them and thinking
00:36:49to myself
00:36:49all geared up
00:36:50if Hearts win this
00:36:52suddenly
00:36:52they all go
00:36:53they really crank it
00:36:55up don't they
00:36:55he's got to
00:36:56he's got to go
00:36:56and win this game
00:36:57and then I still
00:36:58think he's got to
00:36:59he's got to go
00:37:00and take Celtic
00:37:01as a scalp
00:37:02before anybody
00:37:02takes them seriously
00:37:03yeah
00:37:05I thought well
00:37:06listen ideally
00:37:07if that was the
00:37:08case then
00:37:08they would actually
00:37:08be further ahead
00:37:09and then there
00:37:10would be real
00:37:10belief within
00:37:11that squad
00:37:11and it'd be
00:37:12interesting
00:37:12because we
00:37:13obviously
00:37:13mentioned Celtic
00:37:14in the January
00:37:15window
00:37:15it'd be interesting
00:37:16to see if Tony
00:37:17Bloom would
00:37:18try and unleash
00:37:20a couple of other
00:37:20players
00:37:20maybe compliment
00:37:21them in January
00:37:22can you imagine
00:37:24can you imagine
00:37:25the jambos
00:37:25were six points
00:37:26clear
00:37:27I mean they're
00:37:28already at this
00:37:28moment
00:37:29nine
00:37:29clear range
00:37:30so you're
00:37:31saying to yourself
00:37:32can you imagine
00:37:33they were enough
00:37:34clear
00:37:35that suddenly
00:37:36you get
00:37:36never mind Tony
00:37:37Bloom
00:37:37just go to
00:37:38James Anderson
00:37:39and say listen
00:37:39I know you're a
00:37:40billionaire
00:37:40any chance
00:37:41you're a jambo
00:37:42let's have a real
00:37:44go here
00:37:44to actually end
00:37:48something that goes
00:37:49back to 1985
00:37:50we have seen it
00:37:51in last season
00:37:52we've seen it
00:37:53with Aberdeen
00:37:54they collapsed
00:37:55Aberdeen are no
00:37:56Derek McKinnis
00:37:57on the heart's side
00:37:58are they
00:37:58no no no
00:37:59but that particular
00:38:00if we went back
00:38:01a year ago
00:38:01you'd have been
00:38:02going my god
00:38:02they can go
00:38:03because they were
00:38:04obviously producing
00:38:04great results
00:38:05did you think
00:38:06they could go
00:38:07the business
00:38:07I'll be honest
00:38:08with you
00:38:08I don't see
00:38:09this either
00:38:10no no no
00:38:11I don't see it
00:38:12I think it would
00:38:13be refreshing
00:38:13I saw the weakness
00:38:14on Aberdeen's side
00:38:14because I think
00:38:15managers and
00:38:16assistants like
00:38:17yourself and
00:38:17scouts can look
00:38:18at I looked at
00:38:19Aberdeen
00:38:20I thought to
00:38:20myself
00:38:20well there's
00:38:21four
00:38:21there's the
00:38:21two older
00:38:22guys holding
00:38:23in the midfield
00:38:23there's the
00:38:24three
00:38:24there's these
00:38:25one
00:38:25they'll quickly
00:38:26work them out
00:38:27and then they'll
00:38:28steam in on them
00:38:29because that's what
00:38:29good coaches and
00:38:30managers do
00:38:31they'll look at a
00:38:31team and a
00:38:32manager's tactics
00:38:33and say okay
00:38:34they've won 11
00:38:35games on the trot
00:38:36how can we stop
00:38:37them
00:38:37and that's what
00:38:38good coaches do
00:38:39absolutely
00:38:40so see the thing
00:38:40is as well
00:38:41with the heart
00:38:41situation
00:38:42there'll be people
00:38:42doing that with
00:38:43hearts at the
00:38:43moment and how
00:38:44they can do that
00:38:44they'll have to
00:38:45go through pretty
00:38:46much unscathed as
00:38:47well I think
00:38:47that'll be a
00:38:48factor in terms
00:38:49of squad depth
00:38:49you know we've
00:38:50already mentioned
00:38:51Hal Kipp
00:38:51it's great to see
00:38:52him back because
00:38:53he has had a
00:38:53torrid time with
00:38:54injuries
00:38:54Stuart Finlay's
00:38:55had a wee bit
00:38:56of over the
00:38:57piece as well
00:38:57when he was at
00:38:58Camarnock he's
00:38:59had the odd
00:38:59injury
00:38:59so if they can
00:39:00keep them all
00:39:01unscathed and
00:39:02then you have
00:39:03that kind of
00:39:03continuity then you
00:39:04have a real
00:39:05chance to keep
00:39:07ticking along
00:39:07keep getting
00:39:08results
00:39:08but as I said
00:39:09I think the next
00:39:10couple of weeks
00:39:10I think we often
00:39:11get excited because
00:39:12it's such a
00:39:13brilliant start for
00:39:13them and because
00:39:15Rangers have kind of
00:39:15I wouldn't say
00:39:16tailed off
00:39:17but because
00:39:17they're so far
00:39:18off the pace
00:39:19people start
00:39:20thinking that's
00:39:20the next
00:39:21challenge but
00:39:21for me Celtic
00:39:22are always the
00:39:23yardstick
00:39:23yeah
00:39:24Ruffy
00:39:25are you
00:39:25excited as
00:39:28Tom
00:39:28no because I
00:39:29think when
00:39:29OK Hibbs defended
00:39:31particularly well
00:39:31at the weekend
00:39:32there but
00:39:32they're not
00:39:33going to be
00:39:33I wouldn't
00:39:34like to think
00:39:34they'll be doing
00:39:35that in
00:39:35timecastle I
00:39:36think they'll
00:39:36obviously try
00:39:37and win the
00:39:37game and I
00:39:38just feel when
00:39:39they try and
00:39:39win the game
00:39:40spaces start
00:39:41creating you
00:39:42know and they
00:39:42start losing
00:39:42goals as they
00:39:43did against
00:39:44Motherwell when
00:39:44they were charging
00:39:45forward so it
00:39:46had to be
00:39:47disciplined but
00:39:48as we spoke
00:39:48about it early
00:39:49on I think
00:39:50at this moment
00:39:50in time I
00:39:51think Hearts
00:39:52have got more
00:39:52match winners
00:39:53than Hibbs
00:39:53yeah
00:39:54Aurora says
00:39:55I hope Hearts
00:39:56keep it up
00:39:57sick and fed
00:39:57up of Celtic
00:39:59winning the
00:39:59league every
00:40:00year
00:40:00yeah so is
00:40:02Alec
00:40:02so he's
00:40:03sharing your
00:40:06feelings on
00:40:07this and I
00:40:08think Aurora
00:40:08is a
00:40:09Dons fan
00:40:09but nevertheless
00:40:11you think it's
00:40:14going to be
00:40:15Hearts
00:40:15yeah
00:40:15you think it'll
00:40:16be Hearts
00:40:16that's unusual
00:40:17for you
00:40:18Ruffy
00:40:18you think Hearts
00:40:19will be Hibbs
00:40:19the weekend
00:40:20yeah
00:40:20so do I
00:40:21what about you
00:40:22Alec
00:40:23I'll go for a
00:40:26draw
00:40:26yeah
00:40:26okay
00:40:27two skills on
00:40:28your arses
00:40:29you two
00:40:29you're really
00:40:30great in the
00:40:31predictor
00:40:31okay
00:40:32if Hearts
00:40:34are not going to
00:40:34win it Ruffy
00:40:35let's talk
00:40:36about the
00:40:36other champions
00:40:37because they
00:40:39managed to
00:40:40in the most
00:40:40dramatic of
00:40:41fashions
00:40:42heaped the
00:40:43pressure on
00:40:44Jimmy Tallinn
00:40:44I said on
00:40:45Friday we
00:40:45could be in
00:40:46the great
00:40:46sack race
00:40:47so suddenly
00:40:48Russell Martin
00:40:49survives
00:40:50does this
00:40:50guy
00:40:51again it'll
00:40:52be the
00:40:52owner
00:40:53it'll be
00:40:54what kind
00:40:55of relationship
00:40:55he's got
00:40:56with the
00:40:56manager
00:40:57you know
00:40:57everybody
00:40:58have been
00:40:58saying
00:40:58look
00:40:59you've
00:41:00sacked
00:41:00the previous
00:41:01managers
00:41:01far too
00:41:02quickly
00:41:02he might
00:41:02be saying
00:41:03to himself
00:41:03well maybe
00:41:04I need to
00:41:05give this
00:41:05guy a wee
00:41:05bit more
00:41:06time
00:41:06obviously
00:41:06the Scottish
00:41:07Cup win
00:41:07gives him
00:41:08that wee
00:41:08bit
00:41:08the record
00:41:09that keeps
00:41:10getting thrown
00:41:11up
00:41:11if it had
00:41:11anybody else
00:41:12he wouldn't
00:41:12be there
00:41:13five wins
00:41:13in 33
00:41:14league games
00:41:14yeah but I
00:41:15mean you look
00:41:15at the game
00:41:16at the weekend
00:41:16and you have
00:41:17to say that
00:41:17that game
00:41:18could have
00:41:18went either
00:41:18way
00:41:19you know there
00:41:20wasn't much
00:41:20between the
00:41:20two teams
00:41:21I think if
00:41:21Aberdeen had
00:41:22taken their
00:41:23chances they
00:41:23might have
00:41:23got it and I
00:41:24think the
00:41:24manager would be
00:41:25standing at the
00:41:26side going
00:41:26well okay
00:41:27it's nothing
00:41:27each it's a
00:41:28it's a bonus
00:41:29yeah
00:41:29let's just get
00:41:30out of here
00:41:30with a point
00:41:31and quell the
00:41:32sort of anxiety
00:41:33and then the
00:41:34goal
00:41:34god
00:41:35I don't know
00:41:36what he was
00:41:36trying to do
00:41:37I don't know
00:41:38if you remember
00:41:38Ruffy
00:41:39one of your
00:41:40old teammates
00:41:40I said to
00:41:42Kendrick
00:41:42each one day
00:41:43I said do
00:41:43you remember
00:41:43that brilliant
00:41:44goal you scored
00:41:46against Belgium
00:41:46I mean his
00:41:47first goal
00:41:48against Belgium
00:41:48was a raker
00:41:50but his second
00:41:51goal was world
00:41:52class
00:41:52into him
00:41:54and he's
00:41:54turned
00:41:54turns round
00:41:55and then
00:41:56bends it
00:41:57with his other
00:41:57foot into the
00:41:58top corner
00:41:59and I remember
00:42:00saying to
00:42:00Kenny what a
00:42:01goal that was
00:42:02Kendrick
00:42:03said to me
00:42:04what did he
00:42:05say Ruffy
00:42:05I think he
00:42:06thought the
00:42:07defence had
00:42:07let him
00:42:07done
00:42:08do you know
00:42:10what he said
00:42:11Ruffy
00:42:11yeah we lost
00:42:12and it was
00:42:14Kenny's way of
00:42:15saying so what
00:42:16it's a great
00:42:17goal doesn't
00:42:17matter we lost
00:42:18and at the end
00:42:19of the day
00:42:20this guy's
00:42:21record is
00:42:21absolutely
00:42:22abysmal
00:42:23and
00:42:24you can
00:42:25have all
00:42:25the great
00:42:26performances
00:42:26you want
00:42:27but as
00:42:27Kenny
00:42:27Deglish's
00:42:28point at
00:42:28the time
00:42:28was when
00:42:29you look
00:42:30at the
00:42:30scoreline
00:42:31in the
00:42:31history books
00:42:32it doesn't
00:42:33say by the way
00:42:33they played
00:42:34well that
00:42:34they
00:42:34no listen
00:42:35ultimately
00:42:36it's about
00:42:37results
00:42:37and I
00:42:39actually watched
00:42:40parts of this
00:42:41game I was in
00:42:41a little watering
00:42:42hole at the
00:42:42top end of
00:42:43West Nile
00:42:43Street and
00:42:45when I actually
00:42:45seen the goal
00:42:46in which the
00:42:47keeper had an
00:42:48absolute nightmare
00:42:48I thought it's
00:42:49typical of a
00:42:50team that are
00:42:51really struggling
00:42:51that a goal
00:42:52that are at
00:42:52results and
00:42:53another defeat
00:42:54I think in
00:42:55general
00:42:56it's interesting
00:42:56because the
00:42:57board have to
00:42:58step back and
00:42:58go has this
00:42:59guy lost the
00:43:00dressing room
00:43:00and we've not
00:43:01seen enough
00:43:02performances but
00:43:03when you actually
00:43:03look at the
00:43:04chances that they
00:43:04carved out within
00:43:05the game they
00:43:06just didn't have
00:43:07that killer touch
00:43:08at the top end
00:43:09of the pitch
00:43:09otherwise they
00:43:10could have
00:43:10been quite
00:43:11comfortable
00:43:11at periods
00:43:12have you ever
00:43:12been part of
00:43:14a team when
00:43:14things aren't
00:43:15going particularly
00:43:16well and the
00:43:18owners actually
00:43:18bring the
00:43:20experienced players
00:43:21in to get their
00:43:22view on what's
00:43:22happening
00:43:23away from the
00:43:23game
00:43:24today they're
00:43:25called a
00:43:25management group
00:43:27now or
00:43:28something
00:43:28so that's
00:43:30very much a
00:43:30thing but I
00:43:31think over the
00:43:31piece when we
00:43:32were there they
00:43:32would call our
00:43:33one or two
00:43:34senior players and
00:43:34go right okay
00:43:35what's the state of
00:43:36play in the
00:43:36dressing room and
00:43:36things players that
00:43:38the manager could
00:43:40lean on and
00:43:41respect he to
00:43:41try and get a
00:43:42flavour of the
00:43:42dressing room
00:43:43I don't get the
00:43:44impression that the
00:43:44Aberdeen team have
00:43:45downed tools for
00:43:46this guy yet I
00:43:47genuinely don't get
00:43:47that feeling when
00:43:48I see the
00:43:49performance at the
00:43:50weekend where
00:43:50they're creating
00:43:51chances they're
00:43:51still fighting for
00:43:52him but ultimately
00:43:53the results have
00:43:54to improve
00:43:54I'm led to believe
00:43:55that in one of
00:43:56the games the
00:43:56manager just
00:43:57came out of
00:43:57the dressing room
00:43:58shut the door and
00:43:59let Graeme
00:43:59Chenny rip into
00:44:00them
00:44:00possibly
00:44:02I agree with
00:44:04the guys I
00:44:04don't think
00:44:05there's a lot
00:44:06wrong with
00:44:07Aberdeen at
00:44:07the minute
00:44:07they're just
00:44:08not getting a
00:44:09break of the
00:44:09ball rub of
00:44:09the green
00:44:10they're making
00:44:10mistakes the
00:44:11goalkeeper cripples
00:44:11them it's
00:44:12similar to
00:44:13David Gray
00:44:13last season
00:44:14with Hibbs
00:44:15I know David
00:44:16obviously had a
00:44:17wee bit more
00:44:17credit in the
00:44:18bank with the
00:44:18Hibbs supporters
00:44:19because he
00:44:19would have
00:44:19done as a
00:44:19player but I
00:44:20don't think
00:44:21there's a lot
00:44:21wrong with
00:44:22Aberdeen at
00:44:22the minute
00:44:22you just need
00:44:22a win for
00:44:23somewhere I
00:44:24don't see it
00:44:24coming in
00:44:24is it Wednesday
00:44:25or Thursday
00:44:26they play
00:44:26Shakhtar
00:44:26I don't
00:44:27think they're
00:44:27going to
00:44:27beat them
00:44:28but I
00:44:28think Dave
00:44:28Cormac's
00:44:29over
00:44:29he's planning
00:44:31to come
00:44:37at the
00:44:39minute I
00:44:39thought if
00:44:40they were
00:44:40going to
00:44:40sack them
00:44:41it would
00:44:42probably
00:44:42have been
00:44:42done
00:44:42today but
00:44:43it looks
00:44:43as if
00:44:44they're
00:44:44going to
00:44:44carry on
00:44:45me
00:44:45and the
00:44:46manager
00:44:46himself
00:44:47no surprise
00:44:47Jimmy
00:44:48Tillene still
00:44:48thinks he
00:44:48can turn
00:44:49it around
00:44:49I never
00:44:50think about
00:44:51these kind
00:44:52of things
00:44:52because it's
00:44:52something I
00:44:53never can
00:44:53control
00:44:54I have
00:44:54always tried
00:44:56to talk
00:44:58with them
00:44:58daily so
00:44:58we know
00:44:59where we
00:44:59are in
00:45:00honest
00:45:01conversations
00:45:01but it's
00:45:02not my job
00:45:03to talk
00:45:04about myself
00:45:05I have
00:45:06a strong
00:45:07conviction
00:45:08we can
00:45:08turn this
00:45:08around
00:45:09but it's
00:45:09this is
00:45:10not for me
00:45:11it's not a
00:45:11relief
00:45:12it was a
00:45:12joy
00:45:12and it
00:45:13was
00:45:13I enjoyed
00:45:14it
00:45:14it's not
00:45:16like I've
00:45:16been
00:45:16extremely
00:45:17nervous
00:45:18that it
00:45:18wouldn't
00:45:18come
00:45:19so
00:45:20it doesn't
00:45:22feel like
00:45:22a relief
00:45:23at all
00:45:23it feels
00:45:24like
00:45:24joy
00:45:25happy
00:45:25for the
00:45:25players
00:45:26happy
00:45:26for the
00:45:26fans
00:45:27happy
00:45:27for the
00:45:27staff
00:45:28and I
00:45:30will
00:45:30probably
00:45:30also
00:45:30myself
00:45:31when I
00:45:31lie
00:45:32down
00:45:32on the
00:45:32pillow
00:45:32tonight
00:45:33fall
00:45:34asleep
00:45:34with a
00:45:34little
00:45:34smile
00:45:35on my
00:45:35face
00:45:36yeah
00:45:37Ruffy
00:45:37have you
00:45:37ever
00:45:38laid down
00:45:39on the
00:45:39pillow
00:45:39with a
00:45:39smile
00:45:40on your
00:45:40face
00:45:40no
00:45:43it's
00:45:44an
00:45:44interesting
00:45:44one
00:45:46for me
00:45:48I'd probably
00:45:48be half
00:45:48cut
00:45:49if I'd got
00:45:49that one
00:45:50that's why I'd be
00:45:51smiling
00:45:52on my
00:45:52pillow
00:45:53but
00:45:53they seem
00:45:56two similar
00:45:57managers
00:45:57they seem
00:45:58to be
00:45:58just
00:45:58taking it
00:45:59in their
00:45:59stride
00:46:00they're not
00:46:00getting excited
00:46:01they're not
00:46:01they're just
00:46:03trying to take
00:46:05every game
00:46:05as it comes
00:46:06but he
00:46:06mentioned the
00:46:07owner there
00:46:07which he
00:46:08hadn't done
00:46:08before
00:46:08they always
00:46:09like to say
00:46:10I'm in
00:46:10touch with
00:46:11the owner
00:46:11and I'm in
00:46:12touch with
00:46:12the owner
00:46:12and I've
00:46:13not had any
00:46:13bad vibes
00:46:14for him
00:46:14but I
00:46:15think what he
00:46:16got away
00:46:16with at the
00:46:17weekend was
00:46:17the performance
00:46:18I think the
00:46:18performance was
00:46:19good the
00:46:19result was
00:46:20bad and if
00:46:21you see that
00:46:21players are
00:46:22putting in a
00:46:22performance and
00:46:23they're trying
00:46:23their best
00:46:24sometimes that
00:46:25gives you a
00:46:25wee bit of
00:46:26leeway
00:46:26well
00:46:27I mean
00:46:28also we've
00:46:30got to
00:46:30put it into
00:46:31perspective as
00:46:32well when
00:46:32the boy
00:46:33Mitov lets
00:46:34the goal in
00:46:35I'm thinking
00:46:38to myself
00:46:38I'm looking
00:46:38at it and
00:46:39I'm thinking
00:46:39what can the
00:46:41manager do
00:46:41about that
00:46:42I mean you
00:46:42just see your
00:46:43head sinks
00:46:44because at
00:46:45that point when
00:46:45he let the
00:46:46goal in the
00:46:47only thing that
00:46:47was going
00:46:47through my
00:46:48head is you
00:46:49possibly have
00:46:50just got the
00:46:51manager the
00:46:51sack
00:46:52is that what
00:46:52you thought
00:46:52I thought
00:46:53when the
00:46:54ball hits the
00:46:54back of the
00:46:55net and he's
00:46:56made that
00:46:56absolute blunder
00:46:57I thought
00:46:58the statistics
00:46:59don't lie
00:47:00you can't
00:47:00score a
00:47:01goal
00:47:01that's right
00:47:01well they
00:47:02haven't scored
00:47:02a good point
00:47:04Tam there
00:47:04we were looking
00:47:04at the stats
00:47:05but the
00:47:07interesting thing
00:47:07about that
00:47:08Peter
00:47:08I was like
00:47:09that type of
00:47:11incident for
00:47:12me is
00:47:13conducive to
00:47:13a team that
00:47:14are struggling
00:47:14not that the
00:47:15manager was
00:47:15going to lose
00:47:16his job
00:47:16my automatic
00:47:17thought was
00:47:17that's just
00:47:18conducive of
00:47:19what you're
00:47:19actually watching
00:47:20because they've
00:47:20actually done
00:47:20okay the
00:47:21games went
00:47:22you could have
00:47:22won it
00:47:23but then you
00:47:24just see a
00:47:24keeper just
00:47:24getting it all
00:47:25badly wrong
00:47:26and then
00:47:26ultimately they
00:47:27take nothing
00:47:27for the game
00:47:28yeah and the
00:47:29second one goes
00:47:30in at the
00:47:31tail end of
00:47:31it and then
00:47:32you're thinking
00:47:32to yourself
00:47:32okay I'm
00:47:34looking at
00:47:34Shakhtar Donetsk
00:47:35haven't lost in
00:47:37seven won five
00:47:37games two points
00:47:39clear at the top
00:47:40of the Ukrainian
00:47:41League now
00:47:42they're not the
00:47:43force they once
00:47:44were because
00:47:44you know in the
00:47:45last what 10
00:47:4615 years I
00:47:48think I've been
00:47:49in the Donetsk
00:47:50stadium a couple
00:47:51of times and
00:47:52boy could they
00:47:53call on some
00:47:53big players from
00:47:55Brazil I mean
00:47:55they had a few
00:47:57right tasty
00:47:57players but
00:47:59they're still
00:47:59playing at a
00:48:00better level and
00:48:01I can see
00:48:02Aberdeen taking
00:48:03a tanking
00:48:03yeah I think
00:48:05if you're an
00:48:06Aberdeen fan
00:48:07you're not
00:48:07going to get
00:48:07full of
00:48:08confidence
00:48:08you're an
00:48:08Aberdeen
00:48:09player you
00:48:09know they're
00:48:10obviously a
00:48:11well-known name
00:48:12in European
00:48:12football and
00:48:13they'll be
00:48:14favourites to
00:48:14win the game
00:48:15but I don't
00:48:16think there's
00:48:16a lot of
00:48:16pressure on
00:48:17Aberdeen in
00:48:17this game I
00:48:17think everyone's
00:48:18expecting Shakhtar
00:48:19to go and wipe
00:48:19the floor with
00:48:20them like you
00:48:20say and Aberdeen
00:48:22can maybe play a
00:48:22wee bit
00:48:23I think so I
00:48:24think you can
00:48:24go and play
00:48:25freely if I'm
00:48:25in that
00:48:25situation and
00:48:26I'm sitting
00:48:27bopping my
00:48:27league at a
00:48:27club like
00:48:28Aberdeen and
00:48:28we're playing
00:48:28Shakhtar
00:48:29Donetsk everybody
00:48:29expects us to
00:48:30get pumped
00:48:30and you can
00:48:32play well so
00:48:32I'm going to
00:48:33go for it
00:48:336-0
00:48:36Shakhtar
00:48:3623
00:48:42yeah
00:48:43the thing is
00:48:46and this is the
00:48:47key to it all
00:48:48when you
00:48:48the game at the
00:48:50weekend after it
00:48:50it's the bigger
00:48:51game
00:48:51Dundee
00:48:52Dundee at
00:48:53home
00:48:53St Mirren
00:48:54away
00:48:54AAC
00:48:55Athens
00:48:55away
00:48:56and then
00:48:56you've got
00:48:57Heves and
00:48:58Kilmarnock
00:48:58and that
00:49:00takes you out
00:49:01of October
00:49:02and I look at
00:49:03it and I'm
00:49:03saying to
00:49:04myself
00:49:04Dave Cormack
00:49:06might come in
00:49:06for this one
00:49:06and you're
00:49:07right you
00:49:07might take
00:49:07it as a
00:49:08free hit
00:49:08but once
00:49:10you get to
00:49:10the point
00:49:11where you're
00:49:12looking at
00:49:12the league
00:49:12games and
00:49:13you start
00:49:13to say
00:49:14to yourself
00:49:14our whole
00:49:15mindset and
00:49:16season now
00:49:17needs to be
00:49:18can we get
00:49:19away from
00:49:20the playoff
00:49:21positions
00:49:21can we
00:49:22even get
00:49:22into the
00:49:23top six
00:49:23that's when
00:49:24it becomes
00:49:25a point
00:49:26where the
00:49:26chairman
00:49:27and the
00:49:28chief executive
00:49:28has to say
00:49:29this is to
00:49:30the detriment
00:49:31of the club
00:49:32and by the
00:49:33way I think
00:49:34he's had nine
00:49:34lives
00:49:35I think
00:49:35it's a very
00:49:36good point
00:49:37in which you
00:49:37make
00:49:38and as you
00:49:39said
00:49:39Shakhtar's a
00:49:40free hit
00:49:40for me
00:49:40I think
00:49:41on Sunday
00:49:42and I'll
00:49:42go on early
00:49:43here
00:49:43I'm going
00:49:44to build
00:49:44it up
00:49:44and I'm
00:49:45going to
00:49:45back it
00:49:45up
00:49:45I think
00:49:46Aberdeen
00:49:46will beat
00:49:47Dundee
00:49:47for the
00:49:48weekend
00:49:48you're not
00:49:50exactly
00:49:50pushing
00:49:50yourself
00:49:51right out
00:49:51but the
00:49:53thing is
00:49:54it might
00:49:54be you're
00:49:54talking about
00:49:54that distance
00:49:55so all of a
00:49:55sudden you're
00:49:56up to four
00:49:56points
00:49:57it was at
00:49:57a point
00:49:58behind
00:49:58Falkirk
00:49:58so then
00:49:59you're dragging
00:49:59in five or
00:50:00six clubs
00:50:00so it doesn't
00:50:01quite look
00:50:02what it looks
00:50:03like at the
00:50:03moment
00:50:03you reckon
00:50:04he can do
00:50:05what Russell
00:50:05Martin
00:50:05effectively is
00:50:06doing
00:50:06by himself
00:50:07time
00:50:07well the
00:50:08thing is
00:50:08the good
00:50:08thing about
00:50:09actually
00:50:09getting to
00:50:09there
00:50:09then you
00:50:10can start
00:50:10looking up
00:50:11the way
00:50:11Peter is
00:50:11currently
00:50:12stands at
00:50:12the moment
00:50:12they've got
00:50:13nothing to
00:50:13cling on
00:50:14to
00:50:14no goals
00:50:15one point
00:50:16it's been a
00:50:16really abysmal
00:50:17start
00:50:17it's a strange
00:50:18situation
00:50:19but both
00:50:19these managers
00:50:20find themselves
00:50:22in an
00:50:22unbelievable
00:50:23situation
00:50:24where
00:50:24they're trying
00:50:26to convince
00:50:27everybody that
00:50:29they can turn
00:50:30it around
00:50:30Russell Martin
00:50:32certainly made
00:50:32a step in
00:50:33the right
00:50:33direction
00:50:34with a game
00:50:34albeit against
00:50:35Livingston
00:50:35but this guy
00:50:37I think is
00:50:37under a wee bit
00:50:38more pressure
00:50:39if I was looking
00:50:39at the two of
00:50:40them and saying
00:50:40who was the
00:50:41favourite
00:50:41at the week
00:50:42end
00:50:43for a chairman
00:50:44or a chief
00:50:45executive to
00:50:45say enough
00:50:46is enough
00:50:46I would
00:50:47probably have
00:50:48said
00:50:48Jimmy Tallinn
00:50:50was more
00:50:50in the firing
00:50:51line
00:50:51this weekend
00:50:52last weekend
00:50:54I think
00:50:57you've got to
00:50:58take into
00:50:59the performance
00:51:00if it was
00:51:01just a
00:51:02total
00:51:02horrible
00:51:03performance
00:51:03two on earth
00:51:04and an
00:51:04absolute
00:51:04battering
00:51:05where you
00:51:06couldn't see
00:51:07any players
00:51:07doing any
00:51:09in the game
00:51:09at all
00:51:09but I don't
00:51:10think that
00:51:10was the case
00:51:11as I said
00:51:11earlier
00:51:12I think
00:51:12Aberdeen
00:51:12had more
00:51:13than one
00:51:14chance
00:51:14to win
00:51:15that game
00:51:15they just
00:51:16kept making
00:51:16their own
00:51:17decisions
00:51:17all the time
00:51:18but in
00:51:19football
00:51:20you're just
00:51:20looking for
00:51:20a wee rub of
00:51:21the green
00:51:21somebody to do
00:51:23something a wee bit
00:51:24special
00:51:25they have not had
00:51:25anybody because
00:51:26obviously they've
00:51:27not scored any
00:51:27goals but I think
00:51:29there's something
00:51:29there that just
00:51:30need a click
00:51:31so respite for
00:51:34both managers
00:51:34and maybe
00:51:35the chance to
00:51:36draw a line
00:51:36in the sand
00:51:37what do you
00:51:37think
00:51:37give us your
00:51:38thoughts on
00:51:38that as well
00:51:39I was up at
00:51:41Tanadise for
00:51:41Dundee United
00:51:42against Kilmarnock
00:51:43I certainly
00:51:43was predicting
00:51:44to you Dundee
00:51:45United were
00:51:45going to win
00:51:46I thought they
00:51:46were going to
00:51:47win but boy
00:51:47I was so
00:51:48impressed with
00:51:48Kilmarnock
00:51:49and Stuart
00:51:50Kettlewell
00:51:51no surprise
00:51:51was talking
00:51:52about a young
00:51:52man in the
00:51:53middle of the
00:51:54park who was
00:51:54an absolute
00:51:55joy to watch
00:51:55David Watson
00:51:56he's a lad
00:52:01that plays
00:52:01football with
00:52:02a smile on
00:52:02his face
00:52:03plays with
00:52:03an aggression
00:52:03he's got so
00:52:04much quality
00:52:05and the bonus
00:52:06for him is
00:52:07his future's
00:52:08all ahead of
00:52:08him
00:52:09the rest of
00:52:09his career's
00:52:09all ahead of
00:52:10him
00:52:11remember
00:52:12where Ruffey
00:52:13remember
00:52:13he's a member
00:52:16of our golf
00:52:16club
00:52:17he plays up
00:52:18there
00:52:18I've seen
00:52:18him up
00:52:19there when
00:52:19I was up
00:52:19playing
00:52:19is he that
00:52:20well off
00:52:20probably a
00:52:23five day
00:52:24membership
00:52:24I'll tell you
00:52:29one thing
00:52:29I'd have him
00:52:32in the
00:52:32membership
00:52:32for our
00:52:33six of
00:52:33sides
00:52:33he was
00:52:36taking the
00:52:37ball in
00:52:37difficult
00:52:38positions
00:52:38he was
00:52:38lifting his
00:52:39head
00:52:39he was
00:52:40spreading the
00:52:41ball
00:52:41playing it
00:52:41forward
00:52:41and sometimes
00:52:43and you'll
00:52:43know this
00:52:43better than
00:52:44anybody
00:52:44sometimes if
00:52:45you're a
00:52:46midfielder
00:52:46the easy
00:52:47pass is the
00:52:48most difficult
00:52:49to make
00:52:49and he set
00:52:50it nicely
00:52:50up for
00:52:52Bruce Anderson
00:52:52to finish
00:52:53to give him
00:52:53the lead
00:52:54I thought
00:52:54it was
00:52:54a brilliant
00:52:55goal
00:52:55it's a basic
00:52:56pass Peter
00:52:57but it's
00:52:57just a nice
00:52:57little one
00:52:58in his path
00:52:59because he's
00:52:59coming back
00:52:59across the
00:53:00defender
00:53:00which allows
00:53:01him to
00:53:01get back
00:53:02through his
00:53:02legs
00:53:02I absolutely
00:53:03love that
00:53:03so see when
00:53:04you get
00:53:04good
00:53:04you know
00:53:04this
00:53:05when you're
00:53:05a striker
00:53:05and you
00:53:06think the
00:53:06defender
00:53:07he's going
00:53:07to lunge
00:53:08because he's
00:53:08expecting you
00:53:09to get the
00:53:09strike
00:53:09and then he
00:53:10rifles it
00:53:10back in
00:53:11the fact
00:53:11because the
00:53:11keeper's
00:53:12unsighted at
00:53:12that point
00:53:13and when he
00:53:14rifles it back
00:53:15Anderson
00:53:15but a day
00:53:16like Watson
00:53:17I actually
00:53:17thought Anderson
00:53:19that weekend
00:53:19was very
00:53:20lively also
00:53:20so Kettlewell's
00:53:22got them
00:53:22going to play
00:53:23in the right
00:53:23direction
00:53:23I feel that
00:53:25we should
00:53:25mention
00:53:26Stuart Kettlewell
00:53:27deserves a bit
00:53:28of praise
00:53:28because he took
00:53:29a real bit of
00:53:29flack
00:53:30but I'll tell you
00:53:30one thing that was
00:53:31really good about it
00:53:32Tam
00:53:32they played good
00:53:33football
00:53:33they passed it
00:53:34the boy in the
00:53:35left back
00:53:35Dominic Lewis
00:53:36Thompson
00:53:36he's probably
00:53:38the one player
00:53:38I've seen
00:53:39who could rival
00:53:40Nicky Cadden
00:53:42for playing a
00:53:43brilliant ball in
00:53:44from a full
00:53:45back position
00:53:45moving forward
00:53:46yeah
00:53:47and they took
00:53:47two sore ones
00:53:48Peter
00:53:48you know
00:53:49obviously
00:53:49the last minute
00:53:50goal against
00:53:50Celtic
00:53:51the penalty
00:53:51and then
00:53:51knocked out
00:53:52in the penalties
00:53:52to St Myrne
00:53:53in successive games
00:53:55so I think
00:53:56he'll be delighted
00:53:57with that victory
00:53:57I think it's a bit
00:53:58of a cutting buster
00:53:59I think there's
00:53:59no many in here
00:54:00that predicted
00:54:00Camarnet got there
00:54:01and beat Dundee
00:54:02who had been flying
00:54:03and scoring goals
00:54:04so not a great
00:54:05result for Camarnet
00:54:06like a lot of
00:54:08teams in the league
00:54:08they've had quite
00:54:09a lot of draws
00:54:09but that one win
00:54:11just shot them
00:54:11right up the table
00:54:12so Stuart Kettlewell
00:54:14is doing a decent
00:54:14job there
00:54:14he's got a decent
00:54:15squad of players
00:54:16as well
00:54:16yeah out of the
00:54:17predictions at the
00:54:18weekend we got
00:54:18four out of the
00:54:19six Tam
00:54:20I think Celtic
00:54:21Hemsbury
00:54:22certainly got that
00:54:24wrong
00:54:24that one was the
00:54:25real coupon buster
00:54:26you had damage
00:54:26your map didn't you
00:54:28I did I fancied
00:54:28that's probably how
00:54:29they get beat
00:54:29to be honest with you
00:54:30you're the Jonah
00:54:31and of course
00:54:33St Mirren
00:54:34just do what
00:54:35St Mirren do
00:54:35they just keep
00:54:36winning
00:54:36they defeated
00:54:37Dundee by a goal
00:54:38to nil
00:54:39Cillian Phillips
00:54:40as ever
00:54:40impressive
00:54:41we'll get Alex
00:54:42thoughts on him
00:54:42in a moment
00:54:43but here's
00:54:44Stephen Presley
00:54:45and Stephen
00:54:45Robinson
00:54:46frustration is
00:54:47that I said
00:54:48this to the group
00:54:49and I've said it
00:54:49from day one
00:54:50the importance of
00:54:51set plays
00:54:52and when you come
00:54:53here set plays
00:54:55are a big factor
00:54:56they're very dangerous
00:54:57from them
00:54:58but equally we've got
00:54:59to be super effective
00:55:00in the other box
00:55:02and my frustration
00:55:03was that we defended
00:55:04the set plays
00:55:05with really good effect
00:55:06but in an area
00:55:07that we work very hard
00:55:08on we let ourselves
00:55:09down
00:55:09and set plays
00:55:11trust me on this
00:55:12can be the difference
00:55:13between you being
00:55:13a top six side
00:55:14and being a bottom
00:55:15six side
00:55:16we're enjoying
00:55:17the run we're on
00:55:18we're enjoying
00:55:18the momentum
00:55:19we firmly refocused
00:55:21on the league again
00:55:21today after the cup
00:55:22and we've got a really
00:55:24difficult game away
00:55:24of Killy who had a
00:55:25tremendous result
00:55:26at Dundee United
00:55:26so we stay grounded
00:55:28we know there's
00:55:29all we think
00:55:30we can improve at
00:55:31and that's the secret
00:55:32to our relative success
00:55:34keeping pushing
00:55:34never being happy
00:55:35I've got a terrific
00:55:37bunch of players
00:55:38and staff
00:55:38that will continue
00:55:39to improve
00:55:40and we're delighted
00:55:41it were a start
00:55:41but we feel
00:55:42there's more to come
00:55:43yeah three wins
00:55:45out of three
00:55:45a man who
00:55:47when we had him
00:55:47in the studio here
00:55:48said that you know
00:55:50while he likes
00:55:51the fact that
00:55:51everybody deals
00:55:52with data
00:55:52and Jamestown
00:55:53analytics
00:55:54and any other
00:55:55analytics that you
00:55:55want to live by
00:55:56he's got a guy
00:55:58that he trusts
00:55:58with his life
00:55:59that he'd take
00:55:59into the trenches
00:56:00with him
00:56:00and he goes
00:56:01and scouts
00:56:02them first
00:56:02Foley
00:56:02is that his name
00:56:04is that a boy
00:56:04Matt Foley
00:56:05Matt Foley
00:56:06yeah yeah
00:56:07the boy used to be
00:56:07down south
00:56:08I think he was
00:56:08at Port Vale
00:56:09so if he says
00:56:09by the way
00:56:10this is the type
00:56:11of player you like
00:56:12he says
00:56:13right okay
00:56:14you watch him
00:56:15and then
00:56:16watch him again
00:56:17and then I'll go
00:56:17and watch him
00:56:18and then we're
00:56:19off and running
00:56:19and he's bought
00:56:20very few duds
00:56:21no and
00:56:22that kind of
00:56:23relationship
00:56:24he has
00:56:24that's why I know
00:56:25Matt Foley
00:56:25way back
00:56:26I think he was
00:56:27a striker
00:56:27down at Port Vale
00:56:28years ago
00:56:28a long time ago
00:56:29and I think
00:56:31so obviously
00:56:31he sits down
00:56:32with him
00:56:32and they actually
00:56:33discuss about
00:56:34the profile
00:56:34you look at
00:56:36St Mirren players
00:56:37they are very
00:56:38athletic
00:56:39they're robust
00:56:41they have a certain
00:56:42there's
00:56:43very few guys
00:56:44my size
00:56:44they're all
00:56:45big old units
00:56:46and I actually
00:56:47really thought
00:56:48the goal that
00:56:49Phillips got
00:56:49over the weekend
00:56:50was excellent
00:56:51because the boys
00:56:52dragged it across
00:56:52the goal
00:56:53and he's
00:56:53anticipating
00:56:54he got across
00:56:55the line
00:56:55and that was
00:56:56the deciding
00:56:56factor
00:56:56because as I
00:56:57said
00:56:58I think
00:56:58they're a big
00:56:59team
00:57:00St Mirren
00:57:00and Elvis
00:57:01was just
00:57:01talking about
00:57:02the importance
00:57:02of actually
00:57:03coping with
00:57:03their physicality
00:57:04except plays
00:57:05for and against
00:57:05and it was
00:57:06the good bit
00:57:08of movement
00:57:08by Phillips
00:57:09that caused
00:57:09him
00:57:09again
00:57:10it's a boy
00:57:11that covers
00:57:11a lot of yardage
00:57:12within games
00:57:13Phillips
00:57:13and I think
00:57:14he can kick on
00:57:15the reason why
00:57:17I like him
00:57:17and this is
00:57:18where I like
00:57:18midfielders
00:57:19who
00:57:20he's 25 yards
00:57:21out
00:57:21if you stand
00:57:22off that boy
00:57:23his automatic
00:57:24thought is
00:57:24I'm going to
00:57:24have a dig
00:57:25I don't mind
00:57:26that
00:57:26it's interesting
00:57:28I'm obviously
00:57:29working with a
00:57:29couple of young
00:57:29boys now
00:57:30and I'm just
00:57:31trying to encourage
00:57:32because it's
00:57:32like a dying
00:57:33art
00:57:33I'll give you
00:57:35an example
00:57:35last season
00:57:36Callum McGregor
00:57:37scored 10 goals
00:57:38as a 6
00:57:39and I would
00:57:40suggest the
00:57:40majority came
00:57:41from outside
00:57:41the box
00:57:42because he just
00:57:43picks it up
00:57:43and he has
00:57:44an ability
00:57:44to find a
00:57:46corner
00:57:46and that's
00:57:47an art
00:57:48in itself
00:57:48because back
00:57:49to the old
00:57:49days
00:57:49Stephen Gerrard
00:57:51Lampard
00:57:51these guys
00:57:52were box
00:57:53to box
00:57:53and I don't
00:57:54think enough
00:57:55players pull
00:57:56the trigger
00:57:56but it's
00:57:57the right
00:57:58execution
00:58:00if you like
00:58:00so I'm
00:58:01working with
00:58:01a couple of
00:58:01young boys
00:58:02at the moment
00:58:02and it's so
00:58:03rewarding
00:58:03because we've
00:58:04actually managed
00:58:04to score
00:58:04I know that
00:58:05I'm taking
00:58:05credit
00:58:05because they've
00:58:06still got to
00:58:06deliver
00:58:06how the press
00:58:08is coming
00:58:08and I was
00:58:09actually talking
00:58:09about
00:58:09so see the
00:58:10one through
00:58:10the legs
00:58:11I was actually
00:58:11talking to
00:58:12one of the
00:58:13boys the other
00:58:13day
00:58:13because he likes
00:58:15to roll
00:58:16and let the
00:58:16ball run
00:58:16through his
00:58:16body
00:58:17and at that
00:58:18point the
00:58:18defenders
00:58:18then scrambling
00:58:19and try and
00:58:20stop the shot
00:58:20so he's
00:58:21thinking about
00:58:21going back
00:58:21through his
00:58:22legs
00:58:22so it's
00:58:24these wee
00:58:24kind of
00:58:25things that
00:58:25maybe make
00:58:25the difference
00:58:26and it's
00:58:27obviously saying
00:58:27it could be
00:58:28the difference
00:58:28by picking
00:58:29up the
00:58:29points or
00:58:29not
00:58:30okay
00:58:30guys here's
00:58:32the team
00:58:32of the
00:58:32week
00:58:32give us
00:58:33your thoughts
00:58:34on it
00:58:34Peter's team
00:58:35of the week
00:58:35yep
00:58:35the good
00:58:37thing about
00:58:38running the
00:58:39place is you
00:58:39get a chance
00:58:39to pick it
00:58:40no the
00:58:40difference is
00:58:41there's only
00:58:41one out of
00:58:42the well
00:58:43you are
00:58:44assistant to
00:58:44mark and
00:58:45you see
00:58:45players
00:58:45there's only
00:58:46one of us
00:58:47actually goes
00:58:47to games
00:58:48physically
00:58:48at grounds
00:58:49and watches
00:58:49them
00:58:50and the
00:58:51last 13
00:58:52years
00:58:52I could
00:58:53write down
00:58:53on the
00:58:53back of
00:58:54a stamp
00:58:54anything
00:58:55that he
00:58:55sees
00:58:56because he
00:58:56comes out
00:58:56midway
00:58:57through the
00:58:57first half
00:58:58because sometimes
00:58:59the salad gets
00:58:59stuck in your
00:59:00teeth
00:59:00can I have a
00:59:03highlight team
00:59:04of the week
00:59:05if I'm watching
00:59:06the highlights
00:59:07can I have a
00:59:07highlight team
00:59:08and Tam can't
00:59:11see it because
00:59:11there's too many
00:59:12people in the
00:59:12East Coat Bride
00:59:13pub in front of
00:59:14them
00:59:14trying to get
00:59:16the Amazon
00:59:18sticks
00:59:18can I get a
00:59:20telly on the
00:59:21golf course
00:59:21so here's the
00:59:25team
00:59:25Salinger
00:59:27Stephen O'Donnell
00:59:30right back
00:59:31Grant Hanley
00:59:32Richard King
00:59:33at St Mirren
00:59:34Dominic Lewis
00:59:35Thompson at
00:59:36Kelly
00:59:36the midfield
00:59:37Alec Kizarides
00:59:38David Watson
00:59:39Elliot Watt
00:59:40Kelly and
00:59:41Phillips
00:59:42Bruce Anderson
00:59:42and Lauren
00:59:43Shanklin up
00:59:44front
00:59:44there are no
00:59:45Celtic and
00:59:46Rangers players
00:59:46in there
00:59:47because
00:59:47you know
00:59:48unless you're
00:59:49going to tell
00:59:50me different
00:59:50from your
00:59:51viewing
00:59:52no
00:59:53no
00:59:54no
00:59:54I actually
00:59:55find it quite
00:59:55refreshing
00:59:56and it just
00:59:56says about how
00:59:57well Celtic and
00:59:58Rangers did at
00:59:58the weekend
00:59:59you know there
00:59:59wasn't really any
01:00:00standouts
01:00:00some decent
01:00:01performances
01:00:02but these
01:00:02boys are
01:00:02tearing it up
01:00:04I thought
01:00:04Connor Barron
01:00:04a decent game
01:00:05for Rangers
01:00:05this is the
01:00:05first half
01:00:06yeah
01:00:06yeah
01:00:07we get them
01:00:09in for 45
01:00:09minutes
01:00:10no
01:00:10okay
01:00:11I'm sure
01:00:15we'll do that
01:00:16as a feature
01:00:16shortly
01:00:17here's the
01:00:18table
01:00:18here's how
01:00:19it looks
01:00:19Alec
01:00:21Rangers
01:00:22climbing up
01:00:23it now
01:00:23and suddenly
01:00:23that noose
01:00:25that was
01:00:25hanging around
01:00:26his neck
01:00:26has loosened
01:00:27off
01:00:27yeah
01:00:28you look at
01:00:29it from
01:00:2911th
01:00:31up to
01:00:323rd
01:00:33and you know
01:00:34what is it
01:00:344 points
01:00:35so a couple
01:00:36of wins
01:00:36and it's
01:00:36important that
01:00:37teams
01:00:37did I hear
01:00:38that right
01:00:39St Mirren
01:00:39have won
01:00:393 in the
01:00:40bounds
01:00:40yes
01:00:41so there
01:00:41you go
01:00:42that's
01:00:42obviously
01:00:43last week
01:00:43there was a
01:00:44cup
01:00:44but listen
01:00:453 wins
01:00:46out of
01:00:476
01:00:48for St Mirren
01:00:49a good return
01:00:4950% rate
01:00:50so he'll be
01:00:51delighted with
01:00:51that
01:00:51but again
01:00:53Rangers
01:00:53from their
01:00:54perspective
01:00:55they need to
01:00:55just keep
