04:58Like what the Israeli government is doing, which is killing the entire population, which is destroying all the houses, all the buildings, all the schools, the hospitals,
05:13because it wants to make the Palestinian people disappear.

07:37Welcome back.
07:38The third day of debate of the eighties session of the United Nations General Assembly took place on Thursday
07:44at the organization's headquarters in New York.
07:47More on the day's addresses with our correspondent Jorge Gestoso.
07:52Arce, during his final address as president of Bolivia, delivered a very strong message at the United Nations General Assembly here in New York.
08:05The risk of a third world war is very near if the UN doesn't react on time.
08:14And President Arce mentioned that the U.S. is seeking to regain control of Latin America.
08:20The threat of death is covering Latin America and the Caribbean.
08:29Beyond violations of international law, this provocative action of imperialism has two intentions.
08:37To intervene into our kindred Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which possesses considerable natural resources, particularly in oil, which the North wishes to appropriate and claim.
08:51Secondly, to try to re-conquer the Latin America and the Caribbean on the basis of it undermining liberal democracy, to impose militarization and to use other colonialist practices that we should call out.
09:08Arce also called the U.S. claim that this military operation is meant to, quote, fight drug trafficking and combat organized crime, unquote, a fallacy,
09:20arguing that if they were true, they would begin tackling both problems in their own country.
09:27And on the regional situation, in addition to military actions, Luis Arce referred to the economic blockade against Cuba and the billions in losses called by the unilateral measure from Washington against the Caribbean nation spanning six decades due to, quote,
09:48the empire's the empire's rejection of the region's first socialist revolution.
09:54In his virtual address to the General Assembly today because he was denied entrance to the United States,
10:02Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas forcefully condemned Israel campaign in Gaza as constituting genocide and crimes against humanity.
10:14By the Israeli occupation forces in which they killed and injured more than 220,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are unarmed children, women and the elderly.
10:30Abbas affirmed that the Palestinian Authority is prepared to assume full responsibility for security and governance in Gaza,
10:39insisting that Palestinians would not abandon their land or identity.
10:45Haiti's representative Laurent Sancir declared that, quote,
10:50Haiti is at war, unquote,
10:53emphasizing daily terror, bullets, fire and fear,
10:57the destruction of neighborhoods,
11:00displacement over a million people,
11:03hospitals burned and vandalized,
11:06and a looming risk that the country's crisis will spill regionally.
11:12It is critical to listen to the voice of the Haitian people to try new solutions that are stronger and more adapted to the realities on the ground.
11:20Sancir said, quote,
11:22I'm ashamed on behalf of the world that we cannot find it in ourselves to be more compassionate to recognize what people in Haiti are going through.
11:34Mexico's foreign minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente reaffirmed Mexico's call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and its opposition to genocide.
11:46The wars in Gaza, in Ukraine, and in all the other places that they're taking place must end now.
11:55While also emphasizing that Mexico seeks a respectful, cooperative partnership with the U.S.,
12:03one based on mutual sovereignty, shared interests like immigration, trade, security, and clear expectations rather than subordination.
12:15And Ecuador's President Daniel Novoa used his address to highlight Ecuador's challenges with crime and security,
12:23advocate for constitutional and institutional reforms,
12:27and appeal for international cooperation and investments to bolter development and stability.
12:35And at the end, and at the end of this third day of debate here at the United Nations in New York,
12:44there's something more and more clear.
12:47The crisis needs unity.
12:51For his part, Mexico's foreign minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente reaffirmed his government's historic position against the U.S. blockade on Cuba
13:01and urged Washington to remove the Caribbean island from the least of countries that allegedly promote terrorism.
13:08Mexico will always advocate the Pacific solution of conflicts, and so rejects all forms of commercial sanctions and blockades,
13:20which only damage the people's well-being, and do not contribute to create reagents of peace and prosperity.
13:28We reiterate our historic position against the blockade against Cuba and call to remove this country from the list of those nations who support terrorism.
13:41Moving on to Brazil, social movements in Rio de Janeiro held the debate Brazil and Venezuela passed to Latin American unity and popular sovereignty.
13:50The event was supported by the National Mutual Solidarity Movement as well as academics and social leaders.
13:56They spoke about the pressure of imperialism throughout Latin America, especially in Cuba and Venezuela.
14:03They also warned that the militarization of the region, not only in the Caribbean but throughout South America, poses a danger to the entire continent.
14:11Furthermore, they emphasized the importance of protecting Venezuela to preserve Latin America as a zone of peace.
14:18We are aware of the pressure exerted by imperialism throughout Latin America, especially in Venezuela and also in Cuba.
14:33That is why we have an obligation to help mobilize, to create, let's say, a body of ideas and people so that we can counteract that.
14:40What is happening with the militarization of the region, not only in the Caribbean but also in the rest of the continent, is a major threat to all of Latin America, but particularly to all of South America.
14:51The defense of Venezuela at this time is the defense of Latin America as a territory of peace and the defense of sovereignty throughout the continent.
