06:52Welcome back!
07:04We go to China, where on Monday the Eastern Theatre Command reported that the People's Liberation Army of China began joint military exercises around Taiwan involving ground, naval, air and missile forces.

07:56Starting December 29th, the PLA Eastern Theatre Command is dispatching its army, navy, air force and rocket force troops to conduct drills, code-named Justice Mission 2025, in the Taiwan Strait and areas to the north, southwest, southeast and east of the island.

12:29The intense torrential rains that had hit Spain have left one dead and two missing people. Heavier storms in southeast Spain have caused hundreds of incidents and left thousands of families with their homes completely flooded.
12:50The flooding of several rivers, especially in the Huala Alcorce Valley, has forced many residents to abandon their homes in the middle of the night to save their lives.
13:00Our correspondent Sergio Rodriguez tells us more details.
13:03At Auxi's house, the water washed everything away. After 9.30 pm, the water forced this family, with two small children, to take refuge on the upper floor of the house in the face of this imminent risk of being trapped.
13:19The water was coming in from everywhere. They lost their mattresses, the living room, the children's bed, the crib, everything. The washing machine, the refrigerator, the kitchen is completely invisible. The water reached the third drawer in the kitchen. Last night, everyone was here. They had to go upstairs and spend the night, as best as they could.
13:48Because there was nothing they could do downstairs.
13:53Mercedes and Francisco experienced moments of panic after the Guadalurse river overflowed and a heavy hailstorm made their situation worse. In a matter of minutes, water began to get into their home.
14:05It started raining very hard. The garage filled up and then the water started to come in through the kitchen and the patio. It was deadly. An impressive thing.
14:18Suddenly, we saw that the water was covering everything. We climbed onto the sofa to wait but it kept rising so we decided to go to the stairwell because it wouldn't reach there. And there, we spent the night as best as we could.
14:34The Guadalurse valley has been one of the most affected areas by the red alert. A phenomenon that is not new and recurs with every episode of extreme rainfall.
14:43Unfortunately, not even a year and two months ago, something very similar happened. The same streets, the same park, the same school and the same consequences. This is repetitive. We have been asking the Andalusian government for a solution for some time. There is a canal that was built about 25 years ago and needs work. Even so, we must be grateful for the clean up of the Guadalurse river.
14:58Because thanks to that, today we can be a little more at ease.
15:17Heavy rains have caused the death of a man in Alaurín el Grande after the river was away the van he was travelling in. Two other people are missing.
15:29We were here doing some work on the farm and we have already seen the civil guard, helicopter and various search teams, such as neighbours and volunteers who are looking for him.
15:41Floating several rivers in Spain affects hundreds of municipalities in the Valencian community, the region of Murcia and Andalusia, as well as dozens of flights cancelled and hundreds of emergency service interventions into racial rains that continue in the south of the Iberian Peninsula.
15:58Sergio Rodrigo y Franci González, Telesur, Andalusia, España.
16:03In Spain, police forces managed to recover the body of one of the people who were missing after the range of rains in Andalusia.
16:10The civil guard located the body of one of the two people missing from the Aluarín, El Grande, who were caught in the heavy rains last weekend.
16:18The vehicle in which they were travelling was found upside down and severely damaged in the riverbed, about two kilometres from the point where they apparently tried to cross it.
16:27The search efforts, which include members of the civil guard, local police and numerous volunteers, continues to focus on the stretch between Campinuela and La Pagaora to locate the other missing person.
16:39And moving to Africa, fighting has resumed between the army and the M-23 rebels in Uwira, a town in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
16:56The military escalation is taking place despite the recent announcement of the withdrawn of the armed group that captured this strategic location on December 10.
17:05According to UN agencies, the offensive forced tens of thousands of people to seek refuge in nearby Burundi, overwhelming humanitarian aid capacity.
17:14For its part, the Congolese government accused the rebels of regrouping in the nearby hills, and were to re-age these allegations of Rwanda's support for the armed group.

17:47Welcome back.
18:07U.S. President Donald Trump met as his Florida resident with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky,
18:13in an attempt to breach a peace agreement and put an end to the armed conflict between Kyiv and Moscow.
18:18Trump described the two-hour meeting as excellent, but admitted more issues remained.
18:23The U.S. President said negotiations to end the war are 95% complete, and a possible solution could be defined in weeks.
18:32During his 2024 campaign, Trump assured that he would end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia as soon as he took office.
18:39However, he has continued supporting the Kyiv regime and let the European Union continue sending weapons and aid for the war.
18:54For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Europe and the European Union are the main obstacle to achieving peace with Ukraine.
19:01The Russian diplomat explained that following the change of administration in the United States, the EU and Europe are not hiding their intentions to try to start a war against Russia.
19:12Lavrov denounced that European leaders are flooding Ukraine with money and weapons to increase tensions with Moscow.
19:19He also recalled that Europe is trying to grant Kyiv a new loan to advance military actions using frozen Russian assets.
19:26However, they failed to breach a consensus and ended up allocating the funds from their own budgets.
19:31In other news, Iranian President Massoud Peskian accused the United States, Israel and Europe of waging a large-scale war against his country.
19:48The Iranian President denounced that these powers are seeking to internally destabilize the Islamic Republic of Iran.
19:54Peskian's statement reflects the escalating tensions in the Middle East, with Tehran facing economic sanctions, military threats and international pressures.
20:04This warning comes against a backdrop of growing geopolitical confrontation, with Iran defending its right to sovereignty and autonomous development in the face of hostility and coercion from Western powers and the Zionist regime of Israel.
20:19And while in Syria on Monday, protests led mainly by members of the Alawite community in Western Syria turned into armed clashes that left at least three people dead and about 60 people wounded.
20:36Thousands of people took to the streets in several cities in the coastal provinces of Lakadia and Tadoush, as well as in some towns in Homs and Hama.
20:46They demanded the release of former military personnel detained after the overthrow of the former government.
20:52The demonstrators also called for political changes, including federalism.
20:57The demonstrations also expressed the rejection of the current government's exclusionary practices and denounced acts of violence committed against members of the Alawite community.
21:07The most recent attack occurred inside a mosque in Homs and left eight people dead.
21:16The Gaza Government Operations Room says 200,000 pre-fabricated housing units are needed in Gaza Street to meet the needs of displaced families and provide them with the
21:45safe shelter.
21:46This demand follows the recent storm that flooded and destroyed thousands of tents across the territory.
21:52This natural-wrote disaster further deepened the critical humanitarian emergency facing the population.
21:58Due to this combination of factors, a Palestinian woman lost her life when a wall collapsed into a tent in the Abemal neighborhood west of Gaza City.
22:06The impact was particularly devastating along the 26-kilometer Al-Rashida coastal road, where the sea severely damaged the precarious camps set up on the bank.
22:16Like this, we have come to the end of this Tunes Brief.
