00:00In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:20We acknowledge our sins, we acknowledge the compassion, the mercy and the love of God.
00:25You help us to be converted, to be renewed. Lord, have mercy.
00:31You take away our sins and fill us with your Holy Spirit. Christ, have mercy.
00:36You empower us with your amazing and incredible love. Lord, have mercy.
00:42May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:50Let us pray.
00:51O God, who founded all the commands of your sacred law, upon love of you and of our neighbor,
00:58granted by keeping your precepts, we may merit to obtain eternal life.
01:02Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
01:14A reading from the prophet Haggai.
01:16In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month,
01:25the word of the Lord was addressed to the prophet Haggai,
01:28to Zerubbabel, son of Sheathdiel, high commissioner of Judah,
01:34and to Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as follows.
01:39The Lord of hosts says this.
01:43The people says,
01:45The time has not yet come to rebuild the temple of the Lord.
01:49And the word of the Lord was addressed to the prophet Haggai as follows.
01:54Is this a time for you to live in your handled houses,
01:58when this house lies in ruins?
02:00So now the Lord of hosts says this.
02:04Reflect carefully how things have gone for you.
02:08You have so much and harvested little.
02:12You eat, but never enough.
02:14Drink, but never have your fill.
02:17Put on clothes, but do not feel warm.
02:20The wage earner gets his wages,
02:22only to put them in a purse scheduled with hoards.
02:26Reflect carefully how things have gone for you.
02:29So go to the hill country,
02:32fetch wood, and rebuild the house.
02:35I shall then take pleasure in it,
02:37and be glorified there,
02:39says the Lord.
02:42The word of the Lord.
02:44Thanks be to God.
02:48The Lord takes delight in his people.
02:51The Lord takes delight in his people.
02:55Sing a new song to the Lord,
02:56his praise in the assembly of the faithful.
02:58Let Israel rejoice in its maker.
03:02Let Zion's children exult in their king.
03:05The Lord takes delight in his people.
03:08Let them praise his name with dancing,
03:10and make music with timber and harp.
03:13For the Lord takes delight in his people.
03:16He crowns the poor with salvation.
03:19The Lord takes delight in his people.
03:21Let the faithful rejoice in their glory.
03:24Shout for joy and take their rest.
03:27Let the praise of God be on their lips.
03:30His honor is for all his faithful.
03:32The Lord takes delight in his people.
03:38Alleluia, alleluia.
03:40I am the way, the truth, and the life,
03:42says the Lord.
03:43No one comes to the Father except for me.
03:46Alleluia.
03:46The Lord be with you.
03:51A reading from the Holy Gospel according to the Lord.
03:54Herod the Tetrarch had heard all about this being done by Jesus,
04:02and he was puzzled.
04:04Because some people were saying that John had risen from the dead.
04:09Others that Elijah had reappeared.
04:11Still others that one of the ancient prophets had come back to life.
04:17But Herod said,
04:18John, I beheaded him.
04:21So who is this I hear so much such reports about?
04:26And he was anxious to see Jesus.
04:30The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
04:34Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
04:37Herod is complex.
04:38He feared and respected John,
04:41and yet had him beheaded because of pride.
04:44Because he didn't want to be embarrassed.
04:47He is puzzled about Jesus,
04:50but does not let him change his way of life or convert him.
04:56So we know about Jesus,
04:58but Jesus, if we are having a real impact with him,
05:01we always convert our hearts.
05:04There will always be change.
05:05Because we are invited to grow,
05:07to be set free,
05:09and not to be trapped.
05:11Jesus liberates us.
05:12Blessed are you,
05:28Lord God of all creation,
05:30for to your goodness we have this bread to offer,
05:33which earth has given human hands and made.
05:35It will become for us the bread of life.
05:38Blessed be God forever.
05:39Blessed are you,
05:57Lord God of all creation,
05:58for to your goodness we have this wine to offer.
06:01Fruit of divine work of human hands,
06:03it will become our spiritual drink.
06:06Blessed be God forever.
06:07Amen.
06:07Blessed be God forever.
06:09Let us pray, brothers and sisters,
06:21that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable
06:24to God our Almighty Father.
06:27May the Lord accept this sacrifice from our hands
06:29to the praise and glory of God's name,
06:32for our good and the good of God's Holy Church.
06:36Receive with favour,
06:37with favour, O Lord, we pray the offerings of your people,
06:40that what they profess with devotion and faith
06:42may be theirs through these heavenly mysteries.
06:46Through Christ our Lord.
06:47Amen.
06:48The Lord be with you.
06:49The Lord be with you.
06:53Lift up your hearts.
06:55Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
06:59It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
07:03always and everywhere to give you thanks,
07:05Father most holy,
07:06to your beloved Son, Jesus Christ,
07:09your word to whom you made all things,
07:12whom you sent as our Savior and Redeemer,
07:14incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin.
07:18Fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people,
07:22he stretched out his hands as he endued his passion,
07:25so as to break the bonds of death
07:27and manifest the resurrection.
07:30And so, with the angels and all the saints,
07:32we declare your glory,
07:34as with one voice we acclaim,
07:35Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts,
07:40heaven and earth are full of your glory.
07:43Hosanna in the highest.
07:45Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
07:48Hosanna in the highest.
07:53You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
07:56Make holy, therefore, these gifts we pray,
07:59by sending down your Spirit upon them,
08:02like they do for,
08:03so they may become for us
08:05the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:08At the time he was betrayed
08:10and entered willingly into his passion,
08:13he took bread,
08:14and giving thanks, broke it
08:15and gave it to his disciples,
08:18saying,
08:19Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
08:22for this is my body,
08:23which will be given up for you.
08:25In a similar way,
08:32when supper was ended,
08:33he took the chalice,
08:35and once more giving thanks,
08:37he gave it to his disciples,
08:39saying,
08:39Take this, all of you,
08:40and drink from it,
08:42for this is the chalice of my blood,
08:45the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
08:48which will be poured out for you
08:50and for many
08:50for the forgiveness of sins.
08:53Do this in memory of me.
09:01The mystery of faith.
09:04We proclaim your death, O Lord,
09:07and profess your resurrection
09:08until you come again.
09:12Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
09:14of his death and resurrection,
09:15we offer you, Lord,
09:17the bread of life
09:18and the chalice of salvation,
09:21giving thanks
09:22that you've held us worthy
09:23to be in your presence
09:25and minister to you.
09:27Humbly we pray
09:28that, by taking of the body
09:30and blood of Christ,
09:31we may be gathered into one
09:33by the Holy Spirit.
09:35Remember, Lord,
09:36your church spread throughout the world
09:38and bring her to the fullness of charity.
09:41Together with Leo, our Pope,
09:43we are a worthy servant,
09:44and all the clergy.
09:47Remember also our brothers and sisters
09:49who have fallen asleep
09:51in the hope of the resurrection
09:53and all who have died in your mercy.
09:57Welcome them into the light of your face.
10:01Have mercy on us all, we pray,
10:03that with the Blessed Virgin Mary,
10:04Mother of God,
10:06Blessed Joseph, her spouse,
10:07with the blessed apostles
10:09and all the saints
10:10who have pleased you throughout the ages,
10:12we may merit to be coerced
10:14to eternal life
10:15and may praise and glorify you
10:18through your Son, Jesus Christ.
10:20Through him and with him
10:24and in him, O God, almighty Father,
10:26in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
10:28all glory and honour is yours
10:30for ever and ever.
10:32Amen.
10:34At the Saviour's command
10:35and formed by divine teaching,
10:37we dare to say,
10:38our Father who art in heaven,
10:41hallowed be thy name,
10:43thy kingdom come,
10:44thy will be done on earth
10:46as it is in heaven.
10:47Give us this day our daily bread
10:49and forgive us our trespasses
10:51as we forgive those
10:53who trespass against us
10:55and lead us not into temptation,
10:57but deliver us from evil.
10:59Deliver us, Lord,
11:00we pray, from every evil.
11:02Graciously grant peace in our days,
11:05that by the help of your mercy,
11:06we may be always free from sin
11:08and safe from all distress
11:10as we await the blessed hope
11:12and the coming of our Saviour,
11:14Jesus Christ.
11:15For the kingdom, the power
11:17and the glory are yours
11:19now and forever.
11:21Lord Jesus Christ,
11:22we said to your apostles,
11:24peace I leave you,
11:25my peace I give you.
11:26Look not on our sins,
11:28but on the faith of your church,
11:30and graciously grant her peace and unity
11:32in accordance with your will,
11:33who live and reign forever and ever.
11:36Amen.
11:37The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ
11:39be with you always.
11:40Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
11:43Peace be with you all.
11:46Lamb of God,
11:47you take away the sins of the world.
11:49Have mercy on us.
11:51Lamb of God,
11:52you take away the sins of the world.
11:55Have mercy on us.
11:56Lamb of God,
11:58you take away the sins of the world.
12:00Grant us peace.
12:01Behold the Lamb of God,
12:20who takes away the sins of the world.
12:22Happy are those who are called
12:23to the supper of the Lamb.
12:25Lord, I am not worthy,
12:27you should enter under my roof.
12:28but only say the word
12:30and my soul shall be healed.
12:33My Jesus,
12:34I believe that you are present
12:36in the most blessed sacrament.
12:38I love you above all things
12:39and I desire to receive you into my soul.
12:43Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
12:46come at least spiritually into my heart.
12:49I embrace you as if you were already there
12:51and unite myself wholly to you.
12:54Never permit me to be separated from you.
12:57Amen.
