Catholic Mass Today I Daily Holy Mass I Tuesday September 16 2025 I English Holy Mass
Transcript
00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
00:18The Lord be with you, and with your spirit.
00:21Today, dear friends, we celebrate the memorial of St. Cornelius, who was a Pope,
00:25and St. Cyprian, who was a Bishop. Both of them became martyrs of Christ.
00:30They poured out their lives in witness to the Catholic faith that you and I cherish.
00:35We pray in a special way for those who, for the sake of the truth and for the sake of our Catholic faith,
00:41are experiencing persecution throughout the world.
00:44Those who are not as blessed as we are to be able to worship in peace and in quiet.
00:50We also pray, dear friends, for your intentions, whatever they may be,
00:54and wherever you might be praying from.
00:58Dear brothers and sisters, let's acknowledge our sins,
01:01and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
01:05You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord, have mercy.
01:10You came to call sinners. Christ, have mercy.
01:14You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord, have mercy.
01:20May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,
01:23and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
01:27Let us pray.
01:27O God, who gave Saints Cornelius and Cyprian to your people
01:33as diligent shepherds and valiant martyrs,
01:37grant that through their intercession we may be strengthened in faith and constancy
01:42and spend ourselves without reserve for the unity of the Church.
01:48Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you
01:51in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
01:57A reading from the second letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians.
02:02We are only the earthenware jars that hold this treasure,
02:07to make it clear that such an overwhelming power comes from God and not from us.
02:13We are in difficulties on all sides, but never cornered.
02:18We see no answer to our problems, but never despair.
02:22We have been persecuted, but never deserted,
02:25knocked down, but never killed.
02:27Always, wherever we may be, we carry with us in our body the death of Jesus,
02:34so that the life of Jesus, too, may always be seen in our body.
02:39Indeed, while we are still alive, we are consigned to our death every day
02:43for the sake of Jesus,
02:46so that in our mortal flesh the life of Jesus, too, may be openly shown.
02:50So death is at work in us, but life in you.
02:55But, as we have the same spirit of faith that is mentioned in Scripture,
02:59I believed and therefore I spoke,
03:01we too believe and therefore we too speak,
03:04knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus to life
03:07will raise us with Jesus in our turn
03:09and put us by His side and you with us.
03:14You see, all this is for your benefit,
03:16so that the more grace is multiplied among people,
03:20the more thanksgiving there will be
03:22to the glory of God.
03:24The Word of the Lord
03:25Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.
03:32Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.
03:35When the Lord delivered Zion from bondage,
03:38it seemed like a dream.
03:39Then was our mouth filled with laughter.
03:42On our lips there were songs.
03:43Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.
03:49The heathens themselves said,
03:51What marvels the Lord worked for them.
03:53What marvels the Lord worked for us.
03:55Indeed, we were glad.
03:57Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.
04:00Deliver us, O Lord, from our bondage streams in dry land.
04:04Those who are sowing in tears will sing when they reap.
04:08Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.
04:11They go out, they go out full of tears.
04:14Carrying seed for the sowing.
04:16They come back, they come back full of song.
04:19Carrying their sheaves.
04:21Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.
04:27Alleluia, Alleluia.
04:29Blessed be the Father of mercies
04:30and the God of all comfort
04:32who consoles us in all our afflictions.
04:35Alleluia.
04:36The Lord be with you.
04:41A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
04:47Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said,
04:49Holy Father, keep those you have given me true to your name,
04:54so that they may be one like us.
04:57While I was with them, I kept those you had given me true to your name.
05:01I have watched over them, and not one is lost,
05:04except the one who chose to be lost.
05:07And this was to fulfill the scriptures.
05:08But now, I am coming to you.
05:12And while still in the world, I say these things
05:15to share my joy with them to the full.
05:18I pass your word on to them,
05:20and the world hated them,
05:22because they belong to the world no more
05:25than I belong to the world.
05:26I am not asking you to remove them from the world,
05:30but to protect them from the evil one.
05:33They do not belong to the world any more
05:36than I belong to the world.
05:38Consecrate them in the truth.
05:41Your word is truth.
05:43As you send me into the world,
05:45I have sent them into the world.
05:47And for their sake, I consecrate myself,
05:50so that they too may be consecrated in truth.
05:54The Gospel of the Lord.
05:56The Gospel of the Lord.
06:26It will become for us the bread of life.
06:40Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation,
06:42for through your goodness we have received
06:44the wine we offer you.
06:46Fruit of the vine and work of human hands,
06:47it will become for us our spiritual drink.
07:07Pray, brothers and sisters,
07:08that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
07:11the Almighty Father.
07:18Receive, we pray, O Lord, the offerings of your people,
07:21in honor of the passion of your holy martyrs,
07:24St. Cornelius and St. Cyprian.
07:26And may the gifts that gave them courage under persecution
07:29make us, too, steadfast in all trials,
07:32through Christ our Lord.
07:34The Lord be with you and with your spirit.
07:37Lift up your hearts.
07:39We lift them up to the Lord.
07:40Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
07:43It is right and just.
07:45It is truly right and just,
07:46our duty and our salvation,
07:49always and everywhere,
07:50to give you thanks,
07:51Lord, Holy Father,
07:52Almighty and Eternal God.
07:54For you are glorified when your saints are praised.
07:57Their very sufferings are but wonders of your might.
08:01In your mercy you give ardor to their faith.
08:04To their endurance you grant firm resolve.
08:06And in their struggle the victory is yours.
08:09Through Christ our Lord.
08:10Therefore,
08:11all creatures of heaven and earth
08:13sing a new song in adoration.
08:15And we, with all the hosts of angels,
08:17pray out.
08:18And without end we acclaim,
08:21Holy, Holy,
08:22Holy Lord,
08:23God of hosts,
08:25heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:27Hosanna in the highest.
08:29Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
08:32Hosanna in the highest.
08:37You are indeed holy, O Lord,
08:39a fount of all holiness.
08:40Make holy therefore these gifts, we pray,
08:43by sending down your spirit upon them like the twofold,
08:46so that they may become for us
08:47the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:50At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion,
08:55he took bread,
08:56and giving thanks broke it,
08:58and gave it to his disciples saying,
09:01Take this all of you and eat of it,
09:04for this is my body,
09:07which will be given up for you.
09:09In a similar way,
09:36when supper was ended,
09:37he took the chalice,
09:39and once more giving thanks,
09:41he gave it to his disciples saying,
09:43Take this all of you and drink from it,
09:46for this is the chalice of my blood,
09:48the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
09:52which will be poured out for you and for many
09:54for the forgiveness of sins.
09:57Do this in memory of me.
09:59The mystery of faith,
10:28we proclaim your death,
10:29O Lord,
10:30and profess your resurrection
10:32until you come again.
10:34Therefore,
10:35as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
10:38we offer you,
10:39Lord,
10:39the bread of life
10:40and the chalice of salvation,
10:42giving thanks that you have held us worthy
10:44to be in your presence
10:46and minister to you.
10:48Humbly,
10:48we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
10:51we may be gathered into one
10:53by the Holy Spirit.
10:55Remember,
10:56Lord,
10:56your church spread throughout the world
10:57and bring her to the fullness of charity,
11:01together with Leo,
11:01our Pope,
11:02and Charles,
11:03our Bishop,
11:03and all the clergy.
11:05Remember,
11:05who are also our brothers and sisters
11:07who have fallen asleep
11:08in the hope of the resurrection
11:09and all who have died in your mercy.
11:12Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:15Have mercy on us,
11:16all we pray,
11:17that with the blessed Virgin Mary,
11:19Mother of God,
11:20with blessed Joseph,
11:21her spouse,
11:22with the blessed apostles,
11:24and all the saints
11:25who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:27we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life
11:30and may praise and glorify you
11:32through your Son,
11:33Jesus Christ.
11:37Through him and with him and in him,
11:40O God,
11:40Almighty Father,
11:42in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
11:44all glory and honor is yours
11:46forever and ever.
11:49Amen.
11:51At the Savior's command
11:52and formed by divine teaching,
11:54we dare to say,
11:56Our Father,
11:57who art in heaven,
11:58hallowed be thy name,
12:01thy kingdom come,
12:02thy will be done on earth
12:04as it is in heaven.
12:06Give us this day our daily bread
12:08and forgive us our trespasses
12:09as we forgive those
12:11who trespass against us.
12:13And lead us not into temptation,
12:16and deliver us from evil.
12:18Deliver us, Lord,
12:19we pray,
12:19from every evil,
12:20graciously grant peace in our days,
12:23that by the help of your mercy
12:24we may be always free from sin
12:26and safe from all distress,
12:28as we await the blessed hope
12:30and the coming of our Savior,
12:32Jesus Christ.
12:37Lord Jesus Christ,
12:38you said to your apostles,
12:39Peace I leave you,
12:40my peace I give you.
12:42Look not on our sins,
12:43but on the faith of your church,
12:45and graciously grant her peace
12:47and unity in accordance with your will,
12:49who live and reign forever and ever.
12:52The peace of the Lord be with you always.
12:55Let us offer each other the sign of peace.
12:58Peace be with you.
13:07Lamb of God,
13:08you take away the sins of the world,
13:11have mercy on us.

13:13you take away the sins of the world,
13:15have mercy on us.
13:17Lamb of God,

13:20and grant us peace.
13:21Behold the Lamb of God,
13:45behold him who takes away the sins of the world,
13:48blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
13:52Lord,
13:52I am not worth it,
13:53that you should enter under my roof,
13:56but only say the word,
13:57and my soul shall be healed.
14:00My Jesus,
14:01I believe that you are present
14:03in the most blessed sacrament.
14:05I love you above all things,
14:07and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:10Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:13commonly,
14:14spiritually,
14:14into my heart,
14:15I embrace you as if you were already there,
14:18and unite myself wholly to you.
14:21Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:24Amen.
14:26Let us pray.

14:32we humbly beseech you, O Lord,
14:33that by the example of the martyrs,
14:36Saints Cornelius and Cyprian,
14:38we may be strengthened with the fortitude of your spirit
14:40to bear witness to the truth of the gospel,
