Transcript
00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, the Lord be with you.
00:21So dear friends, let us come before God as we are.
00:24Let us acknowledge our human frailties, weaknesses, the situations, encounters, where we fail to love in love.
00:34But most importantly, let us acknowledge the merciful heart of God for us.
00:41You are sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord, have mercy.
00:46You came to call sinners. Christ, have mercy.
00:51You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us.
00:57Lord, have mercy.
01:00May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into life everlasting.
01:09Let us pray.
01:10God of might, giver of every good gift, put into our hearts the love of your name,
01:24so that by deepening our senses of reverence, you may nature in us what is good,
01:31and by your watchful care, keep safe what you have nature.
01:38Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you,
01:43in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.
01:50Reading from the first letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians
01:53We want you to be quite certain, brothers, about those who have died,
02:03to make sure that you do not grieve about them,
02:08like the other people who have no hope.
02:12We believe that Jesus died and rose again,
02:15and that it will be the same for those who have died in Jesus.
02:21We can tell you this from the Lord's own teaching,
02:30that any of us who have left alive until the Lord's coming
02:34will not have any advantage over those who have died.
02:40At the trumpet of God, the voice of Archangel will call out the command,
02:46and the Lord himself will come down from heaven.
02:51Those who have died in Christ will be the first to rise,
02:55and then those who are still alive will be taken up in the clouds,
03:01together with them.
03:04To meet the Lord's in the air.
03:07So we shall stay with the Lord forever.
03:11With such thoughts as these,
03:14you should comfort one another.
03:17The Word of the Lord
03:18Your response
03:21The Lord comes to judge the earth.
03:25The Lord comes to judge the earth.
03:28Sing a new song to the Lord.
03:30Sing to the Lord all the earth.
03:33Tell among the nations His glory,
03:35and His wonders among all peoples.
03:38The Lord comes to judge the earth.
03:41The Lord is great and worthy of praise.
03:44The Lord is great and worthy of praise.
03:45To be fear above all gods.
03:48The gods of the heathens are not.
03:51It was the Lord who made the heavens.
03:53The lords come to judge the earth.
03:58Let the heavens rejoice and be glad.
04:02Let the sea and all within it thunder praise.
04:05Let the land and all it bears rejoice.
04:08All the trees of the wood shout for joy.
04:12At the presence of the Lord,
04:14for He comes.
04:15He comes to rule the earth.
04:18The lords come to judge the earth.
04:21With justice,
04:23He will rule the world.
04:25He will judge the peoples with His truth.
04:27The Lord comes to judge the earth.
04:32Alleluia, Alleluia.
04:34The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.
04:37He sent me to bring goodness to the poor.
04:39Alleluia.
04:43The Lord be with you.
04:45A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
04:48Glory to you, O Lord.
04:51Jesus came to Nazareth,
04:54where He had been brought up.
04:55And when He went to synagogue on the Sabbath day,
05:00as He usually did,
05:03He stood up to read.
05:05And they handed Him the scroll of the prophet Isaiah.
05:10Unrolling the scroll,
05:11He found the place where it is written.
05:16The Spirit of the Lord has been given to me,
05:19for He has anointed me.
05:21He has sent me to bring the good news to the poor,
05:26to proclaim liberty to captives,
05:30and to the blind new sight,
05:33and to set the downtrodden free,
05:36to proclaim the Lord's ear of favor.
05:38He then rolled up the scroll,
05:43gave it back to the assistant,
05:45and sat down.
05:47And all eyes in the synagogue were fixed on Him.
05:51Then He began to speak to them.
05:53The text is being fulfilled today,
05:58even as you listen.
06:01And He won the approval of all.
06:05And they were astonished
06:06by the gracious words
06:08that came from His lips.
06:10They said,
06:13This is Joseph's son, surely?
06:17But he replied,
06:20No doubt,
06:21you will quote me the same.
06:24Physician,
06:25heal yourself,
06:27and tell me,
06:29We have heard all that happened in Kapanau.
06:33Do the same,
06:34here in your own countryside.
06:36And he went on,
06:41I tell you solemnly,
06:44No prophet is ever accepted
06:46in his own country.
06:49There were many widows in Israel.
06:52I can assure you,
06:54in Elijah's day,
06:55when heaven remained shut
06:57for three years and six months,
07:00and a great famine raged throughout the land,
07:03but Elijah was not sent
07:05to anyone of these.
07:09He was sent to a widow
07:10at Serapheth,
07:12a Selenonian town.
07:15And in the prophet Elisha's time,
07:17there were many rebels in Israel.
07:20But none of these were cured,
07:22except the Syrian,
07:24Naaman.
07:26When they heard this,
07:27everyone in the synagogue
07:28was enraged.
07:31They sprang to their feet,
07:33and hastelled him
07:34out of the town.
07:37And they took him up
07:38to the brood,
07:41and the hill
07:41their town
07:42was built on,
07:44intending to throw him down
07:46the cliff.
07:48But he slipped through the crowd
07:50and walked away.
07:53Brothers and sisters,
07:54the Gospel of the Lord.
07:55Blessed are you,
08:07Lord God of all creation,
08:08for through your goodness
08:09we have received this bread
08:10we offer you,
08:11fruit of the earth
08:12and work of human hands.
08:14It will become for us
08:15a bread of life.
08:17Blessed be God forever.
08:18God of all creation,
08:37for through your goodness
08:38we have received this wine
08:39we offer you,
08:41fruit of the vine
08:42and work of human hands.
08:44It will become for us
08:45our spiritual drink.
08:46Blessed be God
08:48forever.
08:51The hand is written
08:51in the bread of the heart.
08:53May we accept you,
08:54O Lord,
08:54and in the sacrifice
08:55and in the sacrifice
08:55of God.
08:56O Lord,
08:56worship me for my iniquities
08:57and bless me for my sin.
09:08Pray, my brethren,
09:09that my sacrifice
09:10and yours
09:11may be acceptable
09:12to God,
09:13Almighty Father.
09:16May this sacred offering,
09:20O Lord,
09:21confer on us always
09:23the blessing of salvation.
09:26Then what it celebrates
09:27in mystery
09:28it may accomplish
09:30in power
09:30through Christ
09:32our Lord.
09:34The Lord be with you.
09:37Lift up your hearts.
09:39Let us give thanks
09:40to the Lord our God.
09:41It is truly right
09:44and just
09:44our duty
09:45and our salvation
09:46always and everywhere
09:48to give you thanks
09:49Father most holy.
09:52Through your beloved Son,
09:53Jesus Christ,
09:55your word
09:55through whom
09:56you made all things,
09:58whom you sent
09:58as our Savior
09:59and Redeemer,
10:01incarnate by the Holy Spirit
10:03and born of the Virgin,
10:05fulfilling your will
10:06and gaining for you
10:08a holy people.
10:09He stretched out
10:11His hands
10:11as He endured
10:12His passion
10:13and so to break
10:15the bones of death
10:16and manifest
10:17the resurrection.
10:19And so,
10:20with the angels
10:21and all the saints,
10:22we declare
10:23your glory
10:23as with one voice
10:25we acclaim.
10:28Holy,
10:29Holy,
10:29Holy,
10:30Lord God of hosts,
10:32heaven and earth
10:33are full of your glory.
10:35Hosanna in the highest.
10:36Blessed is He who comes
10:38in the name of the Lord.
10:40Hosanna in the highest.
10:44You are indeed holy, O Lord,
10:47and fount of all holiness.
10:49Make holy therefore
10:50this if we pray,
10:52by sending down
10:53your Spirit upon them
10:54like a deal form,
10:56so that they may become
10:57for us the body
10:58and the blood
10:59of our Lord Jesus Christ.
11:01At the time
11:04He was betrayed,
11:05He entered
11:06willingly
11:06into His passion.
11:08He took bread,
11:09giving thanks,
11:10broke it
11:11and gave it
11:12to His disciples
11:13saying,
11:15Take this,
11:16all of you,
11:17and eat of it,
11:19for this is
11:20my body
11:21which will be
11:22given up
11:23for you.
11:24In a similar way,
11:36when supper was ended,
11:37He took the chalice
11:38and once more
11:40giving thanks,
11:41He gave it
11:42to His disciples
11:42saying,
11:44Take this,
11:45all of you,
11:46and drink from it.
11:48For this is
11:49the chalice
11:49of my blood,
11:51the blood of the new
11:52and eternal covenant,
11:54which will be
11:55poured out
11:56for you
11:56and for many
11:57for the forgiveness
11:59of sins.
12:00Do this
12:01in memory
12:02of me.
12:18The mystery of faith.
12:20We proclaim
12:21your death,
12:21O Lord,
12:22and profess
12:23your resurrection
12:23until
12:25you come again.
12:29Therefore,
12:29as we celebrate
12:30the memorial
12:31of His death
12:32and resurrection,
12:34we offer you,
12:34Lord,
12:35the bread of life
12:35and the chalice
12:36of salvation,
12:38giving thanks

12:40held us worthy
12:41to be in your presence
12:43and minister to you.
