Transcript
00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
00:18The Lord be with you, and with your spirit.
00:21Dear brothers and sisters, we gather once more around the Lord's altar.
00:25And so now, at this time of the day, we entrust ourselves to him, our families, our friends, our intentions, our anxieties and fears.
00:34We place them all into the hands of the Lord, who continues to turn the water of life into the wine of everlasting joy for you and for me.
00:44Dear brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
00:50You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord, have mercy.
00:58You came to call sinners. Christ, have mercy.
01:03You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord, have mercy.
01:09May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
01:17Let us pray.
01:18God of might, giver of every good gift, put into our hearts the love of your name,
01:27so that by deepening our sense of reverence, you may nurture in us what is good,
01:33and by your watchful care, keep safe what you have nurtured.
01:38Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
01:44God forever and ever. Amen.
01:52A reading from the first letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians.
01:56You will not be expecting us to write anything to you, brothers, about times and seasons,
02:03since you know very well that the day of the Lord is going to come like a thief in the night.
02:09It is when people are saying how quiet and peaceful it is when the worst suddenly happens,
02:16as suddenly as labor pains come on a pregnant woman,
02:20and there will be no way for anybody to evade it.
02:25But it is not as if you live in the dark, my brothers,
02:28for that day to overtake you like a thief.
02:32No, you are all sons of light and sons of the day.
02:36We do not belong to the night or to darkness,
02:38so we should not go on sleeping as everyone else does,
02:41but stay wide awake and sober.
02:45God never meant us to experience the retribution,
02:48but to win salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
02:52who died for us so that, alive or dead,
02:55we should still live united to Him.
02:58So, give encouragement to each other,
03:02and keep strengthening one another,
03:05as you do already.
03:06Amen.
03:11The Word of the Lord
03:13I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
03:20I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
03:25The Lord is my light and my help, whom shall I fear?
03:29The Lord is the stronghold of my life,
03:32before whom shall I shrink?
03:34I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
03:39There is one thing I ask of the Lord, for this I long, to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to savor the sweetness of the Lord, to behold His temple.
03:51I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
03:56I am sure I shall see the Lord's goodness in the land of the living.
04:01Hope in Him. Hold firm and take heart. Hope in the Lord.
04:05I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
04:12Alleluia! Alleluia! A great prophet has appeared among us. God has visited His people. Alleluia!
04:20The Lord be with you.
04:23A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
04:29Jesus went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and taught them on the Sabbath.
04:34And His teaching made a deep impression on them because He spoke with authority.
04:40In the synagogue there was a man who was possessed by the spirit of an unclean devil,
04:46and it shouted at the top of its voice,
04:48Ha! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
04:53Have you come to destroy us?
04:55I know who you are, the Holy One of God.
04:59But Jesus said sharply,
05:02Be quiet, come out of him.
05:05And the devil, throwing the man down in front of everyone,
05:09went out of him without hurting him at all.
05:13As punishment seized them, and they were all saying to one another,
05:18What teaching!
05:19He gives orders to unclean spirits with authority and power,
05:24and they come out.
05:25And reports of him went all through the surrounding countryside.
05:30The Gospel of the Lord.
05:32Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
05:54for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you.

05:59it will become for us the bread of life.
06:01Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
06:19for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you.

07:01Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
07:11May this sacred offering, O Lord, confer on us always the blessing of salvation,
07:17that what it celebrates in mystery, it may accomplish in power through Christ our Lord.
07:23The Lord be with you and with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.
07:34Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just.
07:37It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks.
07:44Father most holy, through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, your word, through whom you made all things,
07:50whom you sent as our Savior and Redeemer, incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin,
07:57fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people.
08:01He stretched out his hands as he endured his passion, so as to break the bonds of death and manifest the resurrection.
08:09And so, with the angels and all the saints, we declare your glory, as with one voice we acclaim.
08:14Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:22Hosanna in the highest.
08:24Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
08:27Hosanna in the highest.
08:28You are indeed holy, O Lord, a fount of all holiness.
08:37Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
08:43so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:49At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread,
08:54and giving thanks broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
08:59Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
09:24In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice,
09:37and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:41Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood,
09:46the blood of the noon and eternal covenant,
09:49which will be poured out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins.
09:55Do this in memory of me.
09:56The mystery of faith, we proclaim your death, O Lord,
10:22and profess your resurrection until you come again.
10:27Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
10:31we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
10:35giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
10:41Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
10:45we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
10:49Remember, Lord, your church, spread throughout the world,
10:52and bring her to the fullness of charity.
10:54Together with Leo, our Pope, and Charles, our Bishop, and all the clergy.
10:59Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
11:05and all who have died in your mercy.
11:07Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:10Have mercy on us all, we pray.
11:14And with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
11:17with blessed Joseph, her spouse, with blessed apostles, and all the saints
11:20who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:23we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life,
11:26and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:30Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father,
11:37in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, forever and ever. Amen.
11:46At the Savior's command, and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
11:51Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
11:56Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:01Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
12:06as we forgive those who trespass against us.
12:10And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
12:13Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days,
12:19that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin,
12:24and safe from all distress,
12:26as we await the blessed hope in the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
12:33Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
12:36Peace I leave you, my peace I give you,
12:38look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church,
12:42and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will,
12:46who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
12:50The peace of the Lord be with you always.
12:53Let us offer each other the sign of peace.
12:56Peace be with you wherever you may be.
12:57Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:15have mercy on us.
13:16Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:19have mercy on us.
13:21Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:24grant us peace.
13:25Behold the Lamb of God,
13:46behold him who takes away the sins of the world,
13:49blessed are those cold to the supper of the Lamb.
13:52Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
13:57but only stay the word and my soul shall be healed.
14:02My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
14:07I love you above all things,
14:08and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:11Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:15comely spiritually into my heart,
14:17I embrace you as if you were already there,
14:20and unite myself wholly to you.
14:23Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:26Amen.
14:28Let us pray.
14:29Renewed by this bread from the heavenly table,
14:34we beseech you, Lord,
14:36that being the food of charity,
14:38it may confirm our hearts
14:39and stir us to serve you
14:41in our neighbor,
14:43through Christ our Lord.
14:45Amen.
