00:00A group of top amateur designers are being put through their paces as they compete for an

00:16exclusive mentorship with Britain's most loved fashion retailer Marks and Spencer

00:21this week it's all about women's wear no one else is having that that's us yeah I love leopard print

00:29this is challenging with the designers put under the microscope by our M&S experts what sets a great

00:37women's wear designer apart is passion creative flair not just what's happening now but predict

00:43what's coming in the future thinking about what the customers are going to want before they actually

00:47want it and this week's guest expert Frankie bridge I love leopard print now that it's all finished I

00:54think it looks so expensive eight designers remain in pursuit of the ultimate prize about in everything

01:00I'm stressed a mentorship with Marks and Spencer that will help them towards their shared dream

01:25athlete mentality's switched on now consistency is key well designers fancy seeing you here welcome you

01:34made it to week two yeah so week one was filled with a lot of highs and lows and this week I want it

01:41to be filled with just highs now I feel super real to step it up a notch and really lock in now we are

01:47about to enter pumpkin spiced latte season more commonly known as autumn is it warm is it cold does it come

01:58with whipped cream it's confusing time it certainly is here to make sure that your designs hit the sweet spot

02:05it's M&S's director of women's wear the one and only Maddie Evans

02:10and joining Maddie is a devoted follower of fashion once a member of the Saturdays now an icon every

02:20day of the week please welcome the one and only Frankie bridge pop superstar Frankie bridge swap the

02:27microphone for the mannequin and is now a leading fashion influencer and entrepreneur with their own

02:32clothing line quite literally under her belt welcome Frankie hi guys oh all right Frankie please could

02:46you reveal this week's women's words statement piece challenge so for this challenge we want you to

02:51design a women's autumn jacket I feel like it can dress up any outfit and make you look finished and

02:57polished so it needs to be something that's going to work hard so keep that in mind it tends to be more of

03:02an investment piece so think about how it takes you through the season right through from that end

03:07of summer all the way through to December and beyond as ever with the statement challenge it's about

03:13bringing your personality your personal style it's also about continuing to apply that commercial lens

03:19thinking about the customer all the time that's a big ask Maddie it is wow think about team okay

03:25designers you have four hours to design your autumn jacket and your time starts now

03:32oh my god all of a sudden Frankie from Saturdays is in front of me I wanted to either burst into tears or burst into the song

03:48oh hey Richie we're friends today we are enemies for enemies don't cross this line

03:58please put a fence up is the fabric room not open yet the fabric room is now open

04:05it's not green there's always accent colors that come through you know that big kind

04:10of overarching trends that compliment all of those neutrals chocolate's a massive color at

04:38colour at the moment chestnut oh that brown is nice i don't think i would go super bold because

04:45you've got to wear it with lots of different things yeah yeah oh this is nice i think i'm

04:49going red and blue i think when you move into that autumn season um it's much less about print

04:54as well so print is synonymous with the summer season it's not that you don't ever have it it's

04:59just less dominant that's pretty thank you so if the customer's spending more money they want more

05:05practicality in a jacket sometimes a hood's good whether it's kind of part of the piece or it's

05:09embedded in the collar and you can take it in and take it out but style has to lead mine isn't very

05:14practical it's got a hood and it's not waterproof but like i would still wear that you'd still wear

05:18i'd still wear it like oh this is interesting trench coat kind of vibe yeah everybody wears those in

05:23scotland yeah you know well the inspiration behind it is country walks me and the wife often take the

05:29kids out and i always visualize her in beautiful stunning jackets you know i live with my wife

05:37my two kids the house is always full of energy my kids are part of my creative

05:43world i spent many time sewing with my little one in my arm so i'm definitely inspired by my kids you

05:49know so yeah they are a driving force in terms of why i create winning a mentorship with mns would mean

05:56everything to my family um my kids especially it would inspire them and um help them to believe

06:02that they can become anyone they want to be i'm so used to just sewing pieces in the little corner

06:08of my flat i'd love to just know more and soak up more knowledge it would just be everything to me

06:14a tailor by trade richie is adding his signature style to a trench coat switching khaki for brown suede

06:20with check details but that's not his only edition i thought let me just add a little bit of a bow tie

06:26in there just to feminize it and make it a bit different so we'll see how that little bit of your

06:30own kind of flare definitely women's wear isn't necessarily your thing is it not at all women's

06:35wear is not but is this jacket giving you the chance to cross over with what you've learned in

06:40men's work 100 percent flip sake i cut through the fabric richie how do you think it will affect him

06:50that he tailors for men usually this is a women's jacket there's definitely a a difference because

06:56obviously we have different physical bodies but the finishing touch of the bow that's quite a nice

07:02design detail yeah i think while richie moves away from his comfort zone shock i'm going for leopard

07:11print again again casey is sticking to what she knows i am a bit worried that the judges might think

07:20that the leopard print that's all i really do but i was really looking for quite a bold print in a wool

07:26fabric and this just seems to be like the boldest choice so let's get sewing

07:31casey's fabric choice is a bold one especially given that her leopard print collection was

07:36criticized by the mns customers last week there's too much leopard print one leopard print item would

07:43be fine in a capsule collection three items in leopard print just wouldn't work this week

07:49casey is designing a cropped jacket with a boxy cocooned fit and a single button fastening

07:55she's the only designer to incorporate a hood it's quite an oversized hood just to keep you cozy

08:02because the whole purpose of the jacket's for warmth um over keeping you dry or anything like that so

08:08i'll just take your number earlier it's fine so casey leopard for me personally i don't know how

08:15leopard can be subtle but it's slightly more subtle it is it's not garish no and i like that cocoon

08:21shape and there's nothing better than a hood i'm feeling stylish but cozy and cocooned at the same

08:28time it could be really good yeah it's giving me like grace jones or something yeah

08:34casey is not alone in her love of leopard print it's what you plan to do

08:42oh that's very similar to me again oh is it yeah

08:45yeah i will never ever ever have enough of leopard print i love leopard print

08:51laura's field jacket is made from brown corduroy and she's hoping to hit the sweet spot with accents

08:57in her favorite print so i've got two pockets on the bottom two pocket flaps and then i've got a

09:03statement leopard print pocket to go on the front as well i think what's worrying me with laura is the

09:08leopard print with that brown i'm not sure it goes that way yeah too much of a contrast yeah it's

09:14giving Flintstone a little bit leopard print is getting its comeback this season isn't it and

09:20julia who's also on the field jackets it's very similar to laura's so i'm going to have to really

09:26give it a bit of vroom she's using a combination of fabrics as well isn't she but her leopard print

09:32i feel is more subtle yes so i think if you're someone that's not as brave it kind of blends in

09:37totally the rest of the jacket seamstress julia has turned her hand to many garments but an

09:43autumn jacket is all new it's the first time i've made like a casual jacket is a northern girl i

09:50tend not to wear jackets anyway even in the car i just put it on a big jumper and hope it doesn't

09:56rain or i don't break down on the a1 going up to cramlington hello wow so you've both got leopard print

10:04details and you've both gone for some sort of like field jacket the battle of the jackets here who's

10:11going to come out on top it may be similar but julia is hoping her subtle beige leopard print fabric

10:17curved pockets and rounded off collars will attract a more mature mns customer make main seat to the

10:24the nana market with a scarf i love it you make clothes for drag queens don't you sometimes yes that's fab we

10:34should think of a drag name for you sizzling scissors or you could be stitch please oh yeah or you could be

10:42thready mercury oh that's really good yeah yeah i'll leave you with that get on with it thank you

11:02hopefully they're both level oh you've got your poppers on already that yeah oh you're so ahead

11:09oh that's really good what have you still got to do an awful lot again an awful lot designers you're

11:18halfway through the challenge good luck breathe and just crack on keep stitching his wife show

11:29have i got a bogey

11:30and i'm not by no means a tailor but i do like like a structured silhouette i'm just going for classic

11:40vibes

11:43bailey's design is a mix of a bomber jacket and blazer with side pockets and press stud fastings to emulate

11:49a bomber coupled with the straight fit and angular collar of a blazer i'm trying to go as mns as i

11:55possibly can while still being true to myself i feel like i'm a love island or somewhere my first

12:05taste of fashion going on a sewing machine was my textiles a level and yeah i loved it and that's

12:11what i've carried on doing so coming out of uni and sort of struggling to get jobs in like the field

12:16that i really want um i went to a fortune teller because i just wasn't really sure where my life was

12:21headed and i sat down and had my cards read and she said you'll be entering into a contract

12:29and it will be in fashion jaw on the floor so we'll just have to see bailey lending a blazer and a bomber

12:37two really kind of key jackets for the season in my head i can't imagine how the two go together but

12:42i do really like the material yes i do i think they really complement each other

12:46i'm still very much in a lot of pieces it's a bit it's a bit of mess right now i won't lie

12:58there's no end in sight at the moment you can't press leather bailey has chosen an ambitious

13:05combination of fabrics but they are not easy to work together wool's really forgiving and you can

13:10press it and it's sort of just it loves the iron wool but leather absolutely not can't touch it so

13:16it's this is the tricky part joining colors

13:24why is this fabric so slippy like ridiculously slippy just keeps slipping and sliding all over the gaff

13:33i'm stressed

14:02welcome back to dress the nation where our eight remaining amateur designers are creating a wardrobe

14:08staple the autumn jacket the back looks cute it'll fasten by like coming over like that um and then

14:18i'll have press studs down if i've got time to do it bailey has managed to get his leather and wool

14:23jacket assembled it's just this finishing like finishing the lapel and things like that

14:29uh how are you bro yeah not too bad you good must've got a jacket yeah man not doing too badly

14:35should i see that bro yeah look at that oi sleeves are coming up nice so my mum has this my mum has

14:40this quilted jacket that she wears everywhere um and she absolutely loves it and my mum likes big

14:46accents things like that so hopefully i can make a jacket that she would actually wear that's the idea

14:51inspired by his mum daniel has designed a quilted autumn jacket with tie fastenings and a large collar

14:59he's hoping his fabric choice will add a bit of fun we have a sleeve i think it's a really niche print

15:09yeah i think you're either that woman or you're not yes yeah it doesn't feel that seasonally appropriate

15:15either it's gonna get dirty yeah it definitely is there you go imagine done just do a gilet oh stunning

15:23matches your outfit much like daniel joseph is inspired by a loved one so when i was 14 i actually

15:33lost my mum she passed away i guess it just made me realize that life is too short and you never know

15:39how much time you've got left you might as well do what you want as long as you're happy in the moment

15:43then i think that's all that matters really i really love that color yeah i think that color

15:48combo is really nice when i wake up in the morning that's the first thing i want to see

15:52colors just makes me happy and i just think the world needs more happiness

15:57joseph is making a cropped quilted jacket sticking to his signature colorful style it will be reversible

16:03with red on one side and blue on the other so i'm essentially making two jackets and sewing them

16:10together good i have a jacket well done yeah now i've got to make another one what do you think

16:17about the color choice it feels a little bit primary yes yeah bit naive yeah yeah oh i love the saturdays

16:26i just can't believe she's here i'm so gassed to meet her i'm ready for the hip hop beat

16:43straight to frankie yeah i'm a bit obsessed right now oh really i understand but have you been singing and

16:50sewing oh of course strong red dot yeah it's like something you'd wear to like one of those traffic

16:57light parties do you know what i mean i'm taking wait yeah listen i hope you've all fired up

17:05let's go higher come on exactly okay come on i feel alive do you know what i mean honestly i'm victorious

17:12that's it i'm getting cancelled by function you need to sit down with your ego oh i'm a bit unsure now

17:20if a bright red is is the right choice but i think i'm just going to stick to my guns i think that's

17:24kind of what you have to do as a designer designers you've got one hour less time flies babe oh god

17:32just see how time runs out so quickly chop chop joseph isn't the only designer who has opted for a bold

17:39color choice i see it as a beautiful color some people may not like it but i think it's always

17:44important to go for stuff people will question as an ex-professional cyclist i'm definitely more

17:53competitive than most people and it definitely comes through when there's a challenge so i think

17:59i'm gonna have to make sure i don't show that too much but deep down i think i really want to win

18:04in it to win it again this week alex has designed a chore jacket slightly cropped with a boxy fit

18:10her aim is to stand out with her choice of color something attracts her about disgusting color

18:17no literally yeah because everyone's afraid to use them but i think you should just dive in and give

18:21them a go absolutely so alex i'm not sure about the color no it's quite bold it is oh but it is giving

18:30grass yes it is good it is definitely slash moss maybe that's what it is yeah yeah autumnal vibes

18:38yeah but let's see yeah design is you've got 30 minutes remaining

18:47go on give it some welly go for it go for it 30 minutes left to complete your autumn jacket time is

18:55of the yeses all right buttonholes baby i just don't know whether to go in with the press studs

19:01on that how much have you got left to do quite a bit it's like panic just want to have a finished

19:06garment then i'm just doing one button to cinch it in aj's got something to say 10 minutes left i need

19:12a thin bomb ain't no going back now ow so i went for quite a statement button go big or go home i wish it

19:19was not the leopard print it's a bit tacky she's in no you will not you don't jam now designers you've

19:28got two minutes left gosh it's getting a bit intense now isn't it my hands are just shaking so much

19:34if it's not on your mannequin you should be panicking get it on i'll be lucky if i get there

19:39oh i love that that looks well good actually don't it there's so many threads wicked oh it's not

19:48going in five four three two you got it designers time's up away from your mannequins please well done

20:04i feel confident i don't want to allow myself to feel anything else

20:07it's not to the standard i would have hoped to have achieved but the idea is there it's still

20:12i think very commercial um but a little bit different from standard yeah i'm kind of tough to

20:20that i hope i'm not going to get the reputation as the cat lady it's definitely not intentional

20:27it's just somehow i've ended up back here again i forgot to put my bow the signature bow that i

20:32wanted about it happens it is what it is the designers autumn jackets are ready for inspection

20:46well they have displayed their personal style and shown they have what it takes to design one-off pieces

20:51for marks and spencer with their combination fabric autumn jackets have richie or bailey hit the sweet spot

20:59you know what i really like the colors and i really like the materials that you've chosen i

21:05think they complement each other really really well it's got a real kind of heritage vibe as well

21:11so i think you've done an excellent job all right richie come on up the femininity that for me is what's

21:17lacking and can clearly see that you have mastered men's wear but just adding that feminine touch i

21:24think would have made a real difference for me if you took away the check and put the bow on i think

21:28i'd have liked it a lot more maybe where did the bow go yes it got lost in time

21:38the experts were clear that neutral is key in autumn

21:41so have joseph and alex taken it too far with their bold color choices

21:47i was really unsure about the color but now that it's all finished i think it looks so expensive

21:52you do have to obviously have impact with your product in a store and i do think this is a head

21:57turning piece well done thank you i really love the versatility of it and the fact that you can turn

22:04it inside out and wear it in a completely different way i think people love that nowadays you want more

22:09wear for your money color wise for me i think there could have been a more autumnal kind of palette

22:15maybe we would have just tipped the balance um but really well made and well done has daniel hit the

22:21mark for autumn the bows are something that a lot of people are buying at the moment i think it's

22:26probably more of a summer jacket than an autumn jacket the fabric is not something that i would wear

22:33and i wonder whether the marks and spencers customer would how will julia and laura fair with

22:40their leopard print field jackets for me this separate prints quite loud but i really love the shape and

22:47the gold buttons it's just a little bit too contrasting for me bert lynch would absolutely love that

22:53i love leopard print and i feel like this is a really safe and easy way to wear it but i don't

23:02love the shape and general style it doesn't feel the most modern and probably not the most stylish as

23:08well with leopard prints not hitting the mark so far will casey have more success with her hooded number

23:15i think you've done an absolutely brilliant job of answering that brief i can see a lot of people

23:21being really attracted to this i personally feel like this is something that i would wear you know

23:26doing the school round with a pair of leggings and a pair of trainers i feel like it would just make

23:29the outfit come together so for me it works stunning garment really well done thank you oh well done

23:41okay designers you've heard what our experts think so now it's time to find out where you've been placed

23:47in the statement piece challenge in reverse order in last place this week is

23:59julia okay i think they're quite fair to be honest i wasn't happy with the end product

24:06i've got the team challenge to go so i can maybe pull it back with that

24:10in seventh place was daniel sixth richie laura was faith in fourth place is

24:20joseph well done joseph

24:27in third place we have

24:29alex well done alex

24:39so therefore the silver medalist in second place is

24:47bailey come forward bailey well done

24:52which means of course the winner of the statement piece challenge is casey

26:08in women's wear good morning everyone it's a brand new day here in the design studio

26:14the top four from yesterday's challenge get to pick their teams

26:18casey chose richie bailey julia alex chose laura meaning the final team are joseph and daniel

26:26are you ready to get going yes or should i say sewing

26:33i'm here all day guys all right designers let's find out more about your next collection challenge

26:39she's going to take you to the bridge frankie over to you

26:41so in your teams you're responsible of creating a collection something that the wearer can wear

26:49from the daytime to the evening something that works from nine to five and five to nine maddie

26:55how can our designers bridge the gap from day to night it's relentless

27:02so think about kind of transformative outfits that work together and that the customers feel as

27:08confident coming in to work with so they don't feel out of place but equally they feel really

27:13really special when they go out in the evening and have a you know date night with their girlfriends

27:18now remember it's not just our experts that are going to be taking a close look at your designs

27:23the mns customer will once again be making an appearance in the design studio you've got a total of

27:29five hours to complete your day to night collection good luck because your time starts now

27:36wow yeah let's go go go come on daniel that's it right we're going straight in come around come

27:43around get my sketch good coach so this is the silhouette i was thinking of the winning team will

27:48be safe and automatically through to next week so there's everything to soar for day to night what

27:54can she wear right come on julia we've got this girl maddie the collection challenge is from day to night

28:01how did they get that it might be about coming with something that's more kind of evening wear

28:08but applying whether it's a jacket or a cardigan and then you kind of shed one of those items

28:13and then you accessorize it and then you're ready to go um for a night out you can't go wrong with a

28:18nice dress yeah i think it's something that you can dress up and dress down quite easily a nice dress

28:22i think maybe a jacket but i agree you want to still see the dress underneath so maybe something

28:26a bit cropped we've got this we've got this team joseph's day to night design includes a flowy

28:32boxy dress where shape can be added for the evening and a cropped jacket which joseph hopes will add an

28:38air of sophistication this is going to be a very chanel i'm very happy good having both received

28:45critique for going too bold joseph has decided to switch things up we've gone a bit muted this time

28:51for showing our versatility and adaptability to what mns is looking for then i think we're on to a

28:56winner hopefully they've had a good conversation about what's going to complement each other

29:05because that's the other thing to think about how do they work together really well as an outfit

29:09i'm thinking like a tie neck top dead long ties to the floor really you can bring it like round to

29:17the front and tie in a nice pussy bow tie okay that's such a good idea team bailey are designing

29:23a top and trousers combo the top will have a large ball feature which can be styled differently from

29:28dead tonight paired with julia's capri style trousers what sort of fabric are we going to look for

29:35well you know me i like me black and white you're wearing black and white today julia love her she's

29:42wicked she's been sewing longer than i've been alive oh look at that oh my god how share are we

29:48double it no one else is having that that's ours i want to get you something nice for your bottom

29:53all right no i think that's perfect actually right come on julia we've got this girl you're in a day

29:59tonight outfit you're in a day tonight outfit so are you i'm in a day tonight outfit i'll get a taxi

30:08i think in ms they always have a statement piece you know in the window yeah and this is like the

30:13statement book using burgundy denim team alex have designed a cord with a wide leg trouser paired with

30:20an off the shoulder button up top which alex hopes will stand out i've not seen that before ever no is it

30:28day time enough as well i would go in a meeting with that you know a little bit of shoulder yeah

30:33alex and laura alex is the design lead but i don't know how it's going to kind of fare when

30:39laura is a teacher so she's used to being in control so alex is really good at draping but i

30:45don't do any draping i always follow um patterns a good seamstress matches the seams

30:53a good designer follows their heart and cuts as they go that's like a lot of intense conversations

31:00it does look intense

31:03we're just gonna let go like when you just unleash yourself i think because of the engineering are more

31:09structured there we go that's called teamwork right now like team alex casey and richie have

31:17also designed a co-op they're combining a wide leg trouser with a cropped tailored jacket in classic

31:23blue denim we're going for the double denim and we think that denim's the perfect fabric to take it

31:29right through from day to night from day to night yeah no more animal print staying away from the

31:33animal print today but will their combination of skills give them the edge i need to understand more

31:39about the woman so yeah very important when it comes to the mns customer i feel like i've got like

31:44the feminine vision and rich has the tailoring yeah so what are you making so we've got like a

31:54cohort that we think you know could easily be styled up or down yeah you're working solidly as a

32:01yeah yeah yeah very good but we are too right yeah we're a great co-op co-op designers that's one

32:12hour gone hurry up oh is it not tuned on it's on but it's low

32:31is it plugged in yes oh you've got it on off oh is it ah i thought i had it on

32:41there you go just needed burn okay thank you i'm just pinning her on the mannequin just to see how

32:49we're going because it's a very technically difficult piece alex's off the shoulder top is coming together

32:56would be a bit more a bit formal for me to wear work to school but i love it i worry at the top

33:03obviously it's meant to be day and tonight yeah i think off the shoulder is quite limiting for a lot

33:08of women in the day when you're working and in the day i'd wear this if i worked in like an office

33:13or something yeah i think it's definitely for an office school i think i love your dresses i think

33:20commerciality i've really got to focus on that and make sure i'm going for something really commercial

33:25okay tricky ever confident alex is having a wobble this is challenging yeah really challenging

33:35i don't know i don't know i'm doubting everything

33:43laurie you know what i'm thinking it will be too too evening yeah i think we just need to have a think

33:50about how it's going to turn out and how it's going to look whether it's going to be versatile enough

33:56i yeah i'm on an m and s shoot all right see you in a bit sorry pass

34:08where are they welcome back to dress the nation where alex is having a crisis of confidence

34:29in the day-to-night collection challenge it's too heavy i think with the denim on denim with the

34:35denim sleeves with that just keep it really simple i agree because it's still the vision

34:40with the lapel it's just more refined it's more um m and s alex has scrapped the sleeves

34:47and decided against an off-the-shoulder design she's now making a long asymmetric waistcoat

34:53i think what we were going for was a little bit too evening it wasn't fully

34:57day two nights and it just wasn't sitting right it wasn't feeling right in my gut so i just followed

35:02that voice and we just transformed it made it a little bit more wearable alex has got a lot more

35:09flair when it comes to design so i did take a little bit of a back seat and then i think my

35:14input paired it back a little bit you're in the zone we are it's so quiet i know i mean alex you've got

35:21quite the game face though what do you do to psych your opponents out um so at the start of a race you

35:27roll up on the track there's two riders like 2 000 people in the velodrome silence falls and you're

35:33just next to each other hands on bars and you just uh you can't look away come on let's do this

35:39three two one oh i thought i'd look at you i've lost already yeah you're terrible

35:52with a slightly less competitive spirit bailey and julia are enjoying a slower pace

35:58so it's always just been like my elders and i've never really had like young people so that's

36:03probably why i got on with you so well i reckon oh yeah it's just a little you're like a little

36:09piece of home julia those two are so calm they're just chatting about their lives have you got any

36:14pets no i haven't no i used to have a dog they look like they're kindred spirits they're getting on

36:19like a house on fire what kind of school life did you have they've gone for all black so quite a

36:27literal interpretation of an evening outfit yeah julia how long neck how low i think quite low because

36:37the possible is going to cover it yeah you're so right even though you have the bow on yeah i think

38:31look nice do you think banging it's quite a lot of stuff to pull through quite a small space

38:37it's just quite fiddly i'm all fingers and thumbs like i can't get it through

38:40i'm getting stressed designers you've got just 10 minutes to go just chill uh honestly i've had a

38:48mare can you hand it for me do you have time yeah i'll do it so i'm just gonna get the buttons on

38:53oh she's looking really chic now yeah we've removed that excessive we're worried we might get critiques

38:58for no pockets so what i'll do is i'll sew the channel back on and then i'll just tie it around the waist

40:11and i feel like it looks expensive enough that they can feel luxurious and glamorous in it

40:24this is now racking isn't it it's judgment time it's no time to unleash the mns customers

40:29and find out their thoughts i hope that the customers love it and i think we've really

40:34created the collection that speaks for itself you ready casey i really like it i love the ruching

40:41detail on the the leg that's a lovely different option that you don't normally get they're loving

40:47the trailers i think a wide-legged chalzer is a good go-to it really is and the shape of the neckline

40:53and the pellet as well it's fresh and different jeez come on i see on the mannequin as you enter the

40:58store i'm pleased with that overall i definitely love the top i love the way there's like a scarf

41:06bit you've got this lovely belt that actually jazzes it up so you can take that off in the daytime

41:11with just a normal belt on it just with some pumps and then in the evening have your heels

41:17so it's interesting that she said she'd wear it in the daytime yeah she did because it feels more

41:21evening to us yeah yeah it hasn't got pockets that's something i don't i always do like a bit

41:27of a pocket i'm not a big fan of black color so more like an evening mare fair enough can't really

41:33say more than that you could make it in a different color absolutely

41:40i haven't taken my eyes off a bit since i walked in the room it's so nice the color the fact that it's

41:45angled and not in the center i think is what gives it the statement well thank god she changed it

41:50yeah yeah and then you have the the wide leg as well oh i just i'm in love with it i would wear this

41:57i'm really happy with the trousers i think you could do it though they definitely followed the brief

42:04they're having it during the day and to the evening it's wonderful love it oh they're both very

42:11taken by this one but i have one concern i just feel it might be a bit restricting around the boob

42:17area just of the way that the buttons are falling but love the pants love the color i'm so happy yeah

42:24i'm really happy as well there's my jacket please say you love the jacket please yeah and the dress

42:31obviously the dress itself it is very office like it's just one block color so i think for me i would

42:38just add more accessories to bring it out in the night time it's very like flowy very free very bright

42:44if it was going to be like into the evening i would like something a little bit more fitted i mean the

42:49shape of the dress is actually so nice so i think you should be very proud thank you the jacket is

42:53beautiful but i just don't think it hits the brief it's too daytime for me it probably means more day

42:59than the rest of them well i think you can wear it in the evening so i think whatever yeah

43:08taking on board the customer's views the experts must now decide who is still in the running for

43:13the dream design mentorship and who isn't mns material let's talk about the day that's just been

43:22who has impressed you the most maddie the standout has to be alex for me she's just consistently

43:30delivering and she led the team today she led laura and did you like that collection i would

43:36definitely wear that outfit yeah i loved it yeah it was it was pretty seamless yeah well actually i think

43:42you'll find there were lots of seams in there but they were executed very well frankie who's impressed

43:46you the most i really liked casey i really loved her jacket casey definitely feels like she's kind of

43:53blossoming yeah and growing okay so who is in danger of leaving the competition tonight

44:00we love daniel's personality but he just doesn't get that balance between you know his own personal

44:06style that statement piece and really bringing a commercial lens to it anybody else for me julia's

44:13definitely one of them um i know i'm sorry but i just worry she's not got that kind of

44:20contemporary modern design edge that she's bringing to her kind of creations yeah sounds

44:27like you've got a tough decision on your hands we do we do well done designers another collection

44:35challenge in the bag a bag for life of course

44:38we can now reveal the team with the must-have collection and safely through to next week is

44:53alex's team

44:59well done alex well done laura excellent stuff uh without dotes stand out peace

45:03i think it's so beautiful laura she's been incredible yeah i couldn't be prouder i think

45:10nailed the brief and we all loved it too so excellent well done

45:21now for the hard bit sadly we have to say goodbye to a designer from one of the remaining teams this

45:29person has shown consistent technical ability but our experts would have loved to see a little bit

45:37more creative play the designer leaving the competition is julia

45:49oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god no i've had a fabulous time i'm better than

46:04fabulous people we're gonna miss you so much julia i'm sorry i'm only slightly disappointed there's so

46:09much talent in that room honestly i have the technical ability but i definitely don't have the creative

46:14flair like those guys you know i know he's all gonna do great really oh and i i think the judges

46:20have got a really hard job i couldn't choose between one of these yeah fabulous very very

46:25both as people and just designers oh even i'm willing i'm so glad that you've had the best time

46:33you need a hug we need a hug bring it in everyone this has been the best experience of my life

46:43i've come to london i've learned how to order a coffee at me seat on the train so much

46:51i've definitely done my kids proud i think i'm going to go back on a high next time on dress the
