00:03all right the first piece of news of the day is the worst piece of news of the day in the
00:08national football league especially if you're a bengals fan joe burrow who left the game against
00:12the jaguars very early yesterday will need to have toe surgery that's going to sideline him folks
00:20three months and if indeed that is the case that's the season pretty much so don't expect to
00:25see joe burrow on the field it'll be the drake the jake browning show at least for the time being
00:30browning pretty good yesterday by the way a couple of touchdowns through a couple of picks
00:33the bigger story of course is one of the greatest quarterbacks going right now in the national
00:39football league joe burrow gonna miss almost it would appear the entire regular season last night
00:44sunday night football quite the dud it was probably the only uh was it the only bad game so probably a
00:50couple of bad games sunday this was probably the worst game of the day unfortunately last i fell
00:54asleep during this one 22 to 6 snoozer the falcons just their defense dominated the vikings
01:01and everything the vikings did right in their last game to beat the bears they did wrong in this one
01:06seven field goals by falcons new kicker john parker romo he replaced young ho ku who didn't go to this
01:17game and john parker romo didn't even know his teammates when he was interviewed after the game he
01:22said nice to meet you kind of crazy raheem morris after the game very happy with the team's
01:27performance unlike their performance the week before i think it just starts with me just being
01:33honest with you guys open and honest being transparent telling you guys that we didn't
01:36play up to our standards last week and when i said it to you guys i reiterate that to our team
01:40i reiterate that to our owner i read it to everybody that's involved in what we got to do
01:43you know there's no hiding behind curtains there's no sugar coating things with us
01:47we just speak the truth and that truth came to reality today when those guys came out responding
01:51in a big way and i knew they would you know we got a bunch of grown men up there you know you're
01:54talking about jake matthews you're talking about bergeron you're talking about chris lindstrom
01:57being our leaders along with newsle obviously elijah stepped up man those guys are grown men
02:01and they got a lot of they got a lot of heart they got a lot of character and they want to come
02:04out and play well obviously very disappointing performance tonight really just starts with
02:13uh obviously our ability to take our week of preparation even on a short week and show up
02:18and play a lot better in all three phases got a coach better uh specifically me um our team will
02:26handle the adversity that is now right at our you know right at our feet and we've got to go back to
02:32work and improve immediately eagles meanwhile keep the good times rolling and the chiefs have now lost
02:41three games in a row dating back to the super bowl last year wow defense led the way 20 to 17 the final
02:48eagles were a slight favorite in this game but of course this one was going back and forth
02:52for the majority of it a very happy nick seriani after the game saying they did all the things the right
02:57way and unfortunately for patrick mahomes has never seen a losing streak like this resiliency um
03:04playing for each other uh together not wanting to let each other down the process that they go
03:10through it just all the things that the mental toughness that we have um it's just a bunch of
03:16good guys good coaches good players um and yeah our our job especially you know early in the season is
03:24and what i've said constantly a team is find a way to win take pride in winning any way that you
03:29possibly can work to get better throughout the week repeat repeat repeat yeah i think just after the
03:36first two weeks you just you let games slip away you know that we played good two good football teams
03:40and made mistakes and big moments um stuff that we're not used to doing um but um i think we're
03:46we're coming together as a team man i mean when you deal with adversity it's about how you deal with it and
03:51um obviously this isn't how we wanted to start but how are we going to respond so um i'm excited for
03:56the next few weeks to see see who wants to be challenged and how we can get back and really get after it
04:01the early window turned into the late window with the giants and cowboys yesterday brandon
04:06aubrey hit a 64 yard field goal to send the game to overtime cowboys end up beating the giants 40
04:12to 37 they did not cover the spread good news for the cowboys though they get their win in the first
04:17two games that's a good sign also first win ever for head coach brian schottenheimer i was really good
04:24uh coming off the field and then uh when uh dak presented me uh he and jerry presented me with the
04:31game ball that was pretty special for me um cool way to win your first game you know you'll remember
04:38it forever but uh the words that dak and the players said to me after the game is why it's so
04:42special it's uh i expect the first of many but i'll remember this one forever because of the fight
04:48of these guys the way they didn't quit they just kept believing uh you know we always say give
04:52yourself a chance in the fourth quarter uh i guess we had to go a little longer tonight but uh we found
04:56a way to do it and uh very very special but so proud of those young men man you talk about pro football
05:02and the ups and downs and the high lows and big giving up big bombs and then you got to go back
05:07out there and some of the situational stuff we did was just incredible what can i say about brandon
05:11aubrey i mean just you know four field goals 51 44 64 um would have been good from 70 and then the
05:19walk off 46 yard kick um but uh yeah so proud of those young men the hard work that they've done
05:25this is about them this isn't about me it's about them and uh i'm just uh so blessed to be their head
05:30coach if that wasn't the wildest finish of the day maybe broncos colts was 29 28 the colts end up
05:38winning on a game winning field goal but kicker missed a field goal before and then there was a
05:43penalty they moved them up and then he ended up making the winner it was a wild game culture 2-0 on the
05:48season daniel jones is their quarterback and is off to a really good start but yeah it was exciting
05:53big time kick there uh by spence and good job by the guys up front uh yeah we got it down in there
06:00alec ran a big time route on the shallow creates some separation and then um yeah big time kick
06:06they played tight covers today i mean you guys challenged them and won a lot of those matchups
06:12just what allowed you guys to have that since that uh i mean you know we got a lot of confidence
06:19in our guys and our guys to win and a lot of those matchups and and they did it's a good secondary you
06:24know we talked throughout the week it's a good secondary it's a good front i mean it's good
06:27defense um and you know we were we were confident with our guys going in that we'd we'd stack up well
06:34i think in a game like that you know you're gonna have some good some bad but um you kind of just
06:39keep going play the next play and and uh we won a lot of those situations today and um it was good
06:45to see the seattle seahawks go into pittsburgh win the game outright sam darnold 295 yards
06:53and two touchdowns seattle beats pittsburgh 31 to 17 in this game what a great performance it was from
07:01the seattle defense as actually there was their special teams as the steelers really muffed one
07:06there lamar jackson throws four touchdown passes the ravens cruise past the broncos
07:1041 to 17 the ravens were 12 and a half point favorites total 46 and a half in that one how
07:16about the jets and bills a no contest in this one bills just took a big lead and didn't turn back
07:22josh allen uh did exit the field with a broken nose i guess but came back and ended up playing
07:27and also how detroit lions really wanted to show their former coach ben johnson something
07:3152 points detroit beat chicago by a score 52 to 21 all right real quick let's go to the rest of
07:38the finals the rams improved to 2 and 0 they beat the saints 26 21 saints are 0 and 2 drake may three
07:44touchdown passes patriots beat the dolphins 33 27 and also uh cam ward had his home opener against the
07:52rams spoiled in this one and the panthers come back fall short cardinals hang on to win 27 to 22 i
07:59misspoke earlier it was 49ers beating the saints not the rams my back mississippi i don't know if
08:08you guys caught this game over the weekend but mississippi uh opened up as an 11 point favorite
08:13and then announced just before game time i thought they weren't allowed to do this in the sec that
08:18their quarterback was not going to play in the game by the way their backup quarterback played very well
08:21that line went down to about three and a half four by the time that mississippi kicked off
08:26against arkansas in a wild game that went back and forth by the way in case you missed some other
08:31results in college football over the weekend notre dame misses an extra point at the end of the game
08:38and then texas a&m comes back scores a touchdown what's the final a lot of missed kicks am i wrong
08:44about this a lot of missed kicks missed extra points 41 40 this thing flew over the total meanwhile
08:51georgia tech as we suspected here on the show uh kicked not a 55 yard field goal but beat clemson
08:57man clemson has not looked good 24 to 21 the final and by the way i don't know if you saw dabo swinney
09:02after the game this guy he is he's having a hard time all right virginia tech speaking of having a
09:09hard time uh they lose to uh was it who they lose to was it james madison that they lost to over the
09:14weekend was that the final there i forget owen old dominion not james but they lost to james
09:20madison once before that was years ago old dominion beats virginia tech over the weekend
09:24brent pry loses his job the hokey's are oh and three and also deshaun foster who had a really
09:31hard time dealing with the media in the offseason saying that we're not going to allow you guys to
09:35watch practice and stuff i don't know what this guy was thinking great running back in the nfl
09:39really bad head coach 43 to 10 loss to utah he's fired after oh and three as well
