00:00:01Previously on Project Runway All-Stars...
00:00:04Oh my god!
00:00:06We want you to create a gown fit for royalty.
00:00:10We're dividing you up into teams of two.
00:00:13We have to remember there's no immunity this season.
00:00:18That was unpleasant.
00:00:19That looks like you stuck it on with a hot glue gun.
00:00:22We wanted a modernized portrait collar.
00:00:24Do you love it?
00:00:25I'm almost there.
00:00:27The winning team delivered a look that was fit for a queen.
00:00:32Cateau and Prashe.
00:00:33But only one designer could be crowned the overall winner.
00:00:36Cateau.
00:00:37Oh my god!
00:00:39Brittany and Anna.
00:00:41Victor and Kane.
00:00:42Unfortunately, your teams had our two lowest scores.
00:00:47Victor, you're out.
00:00:50Fashion designer Christian Siriano.
00:00:58Journalist Elaine Welteroff.
00:01:00Fashion designer Brandon Maxwell.
00:01:02And editor-in-chief of Elle Magazine, Nina Garcia.
00:01:05Are looking for America's next great fashion designer.
00:01:08At stake for the winner, a quarter of a million dollars supplied by Pilot Friction erasable pens.
00:01:14A feature in Elle Magazine.
00:01:16And a career-changing mentorship with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
00:01:21This is Project Runway All Stars.
00:01:25What do you want?
00:01:34How do you feel?
00:01:36I needed to sleep and grieve.
00:01:38I was in the bottom last week.
00:01:40My friend Victor went home.
00:01:42I love you.
00:01:44I love you.
00:01:45I'm really sad.
00:01:47And it's just starting to become even more fierce competition around here.
00:01:52I do really respect what he does with corsets and leather and costuming and stuff like that.
00:01:58And he really loved it.
00:02:00It just made it a little tough.
00:02:02What did you say yesterday?
00:02:03You're only as good as your last design on the runway.
00:02:05Period.
00:02:06Yeah.
00:02:07Turn the lights off.
00:02:20It's too dark for me.
00:02:22Is it spooky?
00:02:23Oh my God.
00:02:24What is that?
00:02:25Is this what not to wear?
00:02:26Something's in there.
00:02:28Oh!
00:02:29Oh my God.
00:02:31Oh my God.
00:02:32What's going on, y'all?
00:02:34Oh!
00:02:37Kirsten?
00:02:38What are you doing?
00:02:39Why are you hiding?
00:02:40Kirsten!
00:02:41What are you doing?
00:02:42Sit, sit, sit.
00:02:44All right, designers.
00:02:45I came up with this next challenge myself.
00:02:48You did?
00:02:49For this exact moment.
00:02:50Oh!
00:02:51Okay.
00:02:52Wait.
00:02:53Whatever this is, I don't like it.
00:02:56There comes a point in this competition when you have to make your mark.
00:03:01You have to find a way to separate yourself from the rest of the pack and demand that the judges take notice.
00:03:08And now with immunity off the table more than ever like we just saw, one day you're in, the next you can be out.
00:03:17Literally.
00:03:18Scary.
00:03:19I love it.
00:03:20Oh yeah.
00:03:21I know.
00:03:22Each of you must create a fabulous runway look from this single bolt of fabric.
00:03:29Oh!
00:03:30What?
00:03:31Come on, baby!
00:03:32Come on, baby!
00:03:33What's the fabric?
00:03:34It's a big bolt of fabric?
00:03:37It's such a primal red that this is going to be hard to work with.
00:03:43I'm going to make sure the workroom is stocked with all the things you need.
00:03:47Lining, buck, ramboning, everything.
00:03:50I don't want to hear it.
00:03:51It's an even playing field.
00:03:53Correct.
00:03:54That's what we need.
00:03:55Yeah.
00:03:56There are no other rules when it comes to the design.
00:03:58You just get to do you.
00:04:00So, do I love the color red?
00:04:03Uh, not really.
00:04:05But I'm so excited to put something out on the runway that really just speaks to who I am.
00:04:12All right, Kato, you won the last challenge.
00:04:14Yeah.
00:04:15So, for your advantage, you get first choice of models.
00:04:19Designers, I've always wanted to be here.
00:04:23She cute.
00:04:24Girl, you killed it, but I picked Roberta.
00:04:27Roberta.
00:04:28Fabulous.
00:04:29Everyone else is going to get your model by a random draw.
00:04:35Here comes the fun part.
00:04:36Oh, Jesus.
00:04:37What?
00:04:38What does this mean?
00:04:39It's 110 yards.
00:04:40Okay.
00:04:41You guys can decide how you divide it up amongst yourselves.
00:04:44You guys have 45 minutes to buy the fabric up and sketch in the workroom.
00:04:57Because guess what?
00:04:58What?
00:04:59This is a one-day challenge.
00:05:00I knew it.
00:05:01Yeah, I know it's coming.
00:05:02Oh, boy.
00:05:03I hit one of the challenges.
00:05:05I wish it never existed.
00:05:06Thanks, Christian.
00:05:07You're the greatest.
00:05:08This competition just got real.
00:05:10Real here.
00:05:11Right now.
00:05:12Real, real quick.
00:05:13So, this is the one bow challenge, which is very fitting because I want to bolt out of here.
00:05:18Come grab your fabric.
00:05:19Here you go.
00:05:20No.
00:05:21No.
00:05:22Yep.
00:05:23Take it to the workroom.
00:05:24Come on.
00:05:25Come on.
00:05:26Come on.
00:05:27You can do it as a team.
00:05:28There you go.
00:05:29I got it.
00:05:30I'm a queen.
00:05:31Queens don't carry stuff.
00:05:32Watch this cut.
00:05:33Watch this cut.
00:05:34Watch this cut.
00:05:35Please be careful.
00:05:36One more step.
00:05:37All right.
00:05:38All right, let's set it up.
00:05:39All right.
00:05:40Let's agree on how much.
00:05:41Ten a piece, right?
00:05:42Ten yards each.
00:05:43Cane, take your tens.
00:05:44Okay.
00:05:45Y'all, I'm gonna do it old school way because I promise you I'm good at this.
00:05:49One.
00:05:50Two.
00:05:51How does it feel?
00:05:52It's dense.
00:05:53Yeah?
00:05:54Ten.
00:05:55Okay, Katoa, I got you, baby.
00:05:57I mean, I like the feel of it.
00:06:00This is a really nice sweep, huh?
00:06:02Is that fusible?
00:06:03Yes.
00:06:04This is actually very challenging.
00:06:08Same boat, same color, same fabric for all the designers.
00:06:12This is crazy, but it can really push the designer to do things creatively.
00:06:18I'm a very conceptual designer, so I have to think something outside of a box.
00:06:23I am using raffle constructed by the boning to make the two pieces of the cage from the top of the head and the body and let the rest of the raffle drip to the floor.
00:06:39Okay, she drapes.
00:06:42I'm definitely trying to do a gender-mendy, queer, fluid look for this challenge.
00:06:48I've been wanting to do a pair of pants where the crotch turns into a tie closure.
00:06:52I think it's really a cool, size-inclusive way of working because it really can fit multiple shapes.
00:06:57I really want to make a hat.
00:06:59I think pants and a top and maybe a jacket would be really good.
00:07:02I just have so many ideas, and I really hope I have the time to get them all out.
00:07:06So I'm thinking of making definitely separates.
00:07:16I want a top that buttons up the front, has little strappy details, and then these, like, sleeves that hang off the shoulder.
00:07:23I want to just create this, like, beautiful full pant that has a placket down the center of the leg,
00:07:30and it opens up where it's giving, like, old adidas but high fashion.
00:07:35Very sporty, cool girl.
00:07:38So I'm finally getting to showcase my aesthetic.
00:07:41You've got to, like, give it depth somehow.
00:07:43Yeah.
00:07:44I think I'll do that with, like, a cool top stitch.
00:07:51Oh, it's going to get annoying over here.
00:07:53I have my speed cutter.
00:08:00Hester, I love you, babe.
00:08:05It is so loud.
00:08:07Does it not sound like a dying cow?
00:08:09It's coming back.
00:08:10It's just crazy.
00:08:11This is crazy, people.
00:08:14Coming up.
00:08:16What are you doing?
00:08:17Fitting.
00:08:18You love that?
00:08:19Uh, yes.
00:08:21I'm going to murder you.
00:08:23Your crotch is a little monkey.
00:08:24I am definitely seeing fit issues.
00:08:26Fish, I need you.
00:08:27I'm definitely starting to feel fear.
00:08:29I have a feeling these 11 hours are going to fly by.
00:08:45What do you think about all this red?
00:08:48It's making me sick.
00:08:49Yeah, same.
00:08:50The premise is to create an outfit to stand out from the rest of the competition.
00:08:55How are you going to do that if we're using the same red fabric?
00:09:00This red is way too much.
00:09:01But that's why I'm thinking, like, let me go with a soft drape.
00:09:04Let me make it move.
00:09:05To stand out, I'm doing a jumpsuit that looks like a dress from the front and a jumpsuit from the back.
00:09:13Unexpected a little bit.
00:09:14What you over there doing, big boss?
00:09:15Oh, just, you know, sewing some fabric.
00:09:16What color did you choose?
00:09:17Um, you know this red that was available?
00:09:18That's what I'm doing.
00:09:19Get the out of here.
00:09:20We have to create something that showcases who we are.
00:09:21I do avant-garde streetwear style designs that feature something that you've probably seen, but just not in the element that I created in.
00:09:33So, I'm working on a blazer that has exaggerated shoulders.
00:09:36I am taking a big-ass risk because fusible interfacing is meant to make structure.
00:09:42But you know what?
00:09:43I'm using it as visible fabrication in hopes that the judges get it.
00:10:04LeVance, are you braiding this?
00:10:07Ha ha.
00:10:08I don't want to know, right?
00:10:09When I saw the all red, I'm thinking I want to make a bomber jacket with flowers to create texture.
00:10:19I'm going to be in a sea of other red stuff, but nobody's going to do that the way I'm doing it.
00:10:26Red alert!
00:10:27It's time for a walk-through!
00:10:29Yeah!
00:10:34Hello.
00:10:35What are you making?
00:10:36Since the judges have seen dresses all the time with me, I thought I would show them something that I'm really passionate about, which is tailoring.
00:10:46I'm thinking of making a very cool tailor suit with wide leg pants.
00:10:51It's my version of the power suit, but for a young girl.
00:10:54Fabulous.
00:10:55But that's not really your biggest strength.
00:10:57Mm-hmm.
00:10:58Do you think you're the best at making the most stunning tailor suit that Nina Garcia has ever seen?
00:11:03I mean...
00:11:04It's tough.
00:11:05This is a challenge to be you, to show them what you do as a great, talented designer.
00:11:11All right, good luck.
00:11:17Hi, Brittany.
00:11:18Hi, Christian.
00:11:19How did you come up with this moment here?
00:11:22You know, I do a lot of active wear, so I was thinking, how can I merge my love for ready-to-wear, my love for active wear into one?
00:11:29Mm-hmm.
00:11:30Since my original season, I've done a lot more active wear, a lot more athleisure, much more, like, sportier pieces.
00:11:36I also have done a lot of custom for Peloton instructors, and now I am their go-to.
00:11:43But it all kind of started on this, like, crazy whim.
00:11:48I had a stroke on an airplane.
00:11:52Yeah.
00:11:53I had the stroke mid-flight.
00:11:59I couldn't walk off the plane.
00:12:04Sorry.
00:12:06The ambulance came to get me at the airport, and a clot did, in fact, move to my brain, and I was fully paralyzed on the right side of my body.
00:12:14I relied on Peloton to kind of act as a rehab and didn't make a full recovery in six weeks.
00:12:21Weirdly enough, it changed my life for the better.
00:12:26My new love for fitness has kind of fueled this active wear venture.
00:12:32So everything will have, like, that ventricle stitch.
00:12:35Mm-hmm.
00:12:36That way you can see every detail.
00:12:37Yeah, it's cool.
00:12:38It's really cool.
00:12:39All right.
00:12:40Amazing.
00:12:41Good luck.
00:12:42Kato, our last winner.
00:12:43I like that.
00:12:44Keep it.
00:12:45Keep it.
00:12:46Our last winner.
00:12:47Here it is.
00:12:48Tell me everything.
00:12:49What are you doing?
00:12:50Since I can't use print or texture, I'm creating it.
00:12:53What I do, that Afro-Bahamian chic, no one here does that.
00:12:56So I'm actually envisioning some basket weaving.
00:12:59My seatbelt coat from 2008, I think I'm gonna use her as an inspiration, but just elevate the look.
00:13:06Maybe it's a tighter weave.
00:13:07It's gonna have to be.
00:13:08Even if, like, you wrap some cool jewelry or earrings or...
00:13:12Oh, yeah.
00:13:13Have some chunky bracelets I'm gonna have her on.
00:13:15Maybe her hair goes up, so it's not in the way.
00:13:17Yeah, she has a lot of it.
00:13:18I believe in you.
00:13:19Me too.
00:13:20All right.
00:13:21Good luck.
00:13:22Hi, Kane.
00:13:23Hi, darling.
00:13:24What's the idea?
00:13:25What's the concept?
00:13:26How to make a dress that would kind of work for a lot of people.
00:13:29This is what you sell to the store after the show.
00:13:33You know?
00:13:34Yeah.
00:13:35You're not doing that.
00:13:36My mom has that.
00:13:37Well, and I was kind of thinking, like, I wanted a dress...
00:13:39They read!
00:13:40She wore it last Christmas.
00:13:41I wanted a dress for the everyday woman.
00:13:43Well, that is not the challenge.
00:13:46What do you do that is better than everyone in this room?
00:13:52Evening.
00:13:53Be who you are.
00:13:55Okay?
00:13:56Christian is right.
00:13:57This is not an everyday woman challenge.
00:13:59This is the time for me to shine.
00:14:03Hi.
00:14:04Bitch me, you have nothing to look at, do you?
00:14:06My pretty smile and my face.
00:14:08Big picture, what are you doing?
00:14:10I don't know if I'm going to do these shoulders.
00:14:12Whoa.
00:14:13I have to do that.
00:14:14It's strange, but I think that's what the judges are going to want to see.
00:14:17They want to see something really unexpected, really cool, different.
00:14:22And I think that's really cool and different.
00:14:25And it could become a signature.
00:14:27Gotcha.
00:14:28Thank you, Christian.
00:14:29You're welcome.
00:14:32Hi.
00:14:33Hi, Christian.
00:14:34What's happening here?
00:14:35Ruffles is my thing and a texture is my thing.
00:14:37I want to make this more dramatic, more exaggerated.
00:14:40You want it to be a bit more like a piece of art.
00:14:43Art, yes.
00:14:44Sculptural.
00:14:45Anna is a queen of ruffles and she does it very well.
00:14:48So I can't wait to see what she does with it.
00:14:50This is your chance.
00:14:51This better be unbelievable.
00:14:54Okay?
00:15:00You have nothing.
00:15:01And your sketch is naked.
00:15:03And my sketch is naked.
00:15:04Like literally, you've got nothing.
00:15:06And the sketch is...
00:15:08Is this it?
00:15:11What are you doing?
00:15:13I love carousel.
00:15:14Like that's my boo.
00:15:16But she still has significant amount of stuff to do on her look.
00:15:20Right now it's two pieces.
00:15:21Two pieces?
00:15:22Yes.
00:15:23So that's what you're going to make?
00:15:24Yeah.
00:15:25One dress, which is a cute little hoodie dress.
00:15:26Okay.
00:15:27But then if you wanted to wear, say, evening or something like that,
00:15:30just whip off that long dress and have a little short dress underneath.
00:15:33Okay.
00:15:34So it's about this reveal.
00:15:36It is about the reveal.
00:15:37Got it.
00:15:38You'll see.
00:15:39I promise.
00:15:40You'll see.
00:15:41You'll have a model fitting soon.
00:15:42What are you going to see?
00:15:43I know.
00:15:44I know.
00:15:45I'm going to do so.
00:15:46Okay, thank you.
00:15:47And like, don't leave that room.
00:15:48I'm not leaving until it's done.
00:15:49Hi, Jackie.
00:15:50Hello.
00:15:51Hi, Christian.
00:15:52How's it going?
00:15:53It's going.
00:15:54I just saw this dress.
00:15:55It just has the halter of the card.
00:15:58Then it wraps up into the card dress.
00:16:00It's not a dress.
00:16:01It's a jumpsuit.
00:16:02It's a little safe.
00:16:03Mm-hmm.
00:16:04They are looking for the all-star to bring all-stars.
00:16:09Is it going to be this, like, amazing moment up there with all of this that you could do?
00:16:20Coming up.
00:16:21We are designers.
00:16:22We love what we do.
00:16:23We have an aesthetic.
00:16:24So don't bring any negativity into this thing.
00:16:38Like, a full red look is something that is new to me.
00:16:41And I feel like this is about capturing the judges' attention.
00:16:45I feel like it has to be the most me.
00:16:48Mm-hmm.
00:16:49Do you think that that's the most fabulous, interesting pant you could do?
00:16:54They were not interested in boring clothes.
00:16:57Mm-hmm.
00:16:58Like, they just aren't.
00:16:59Everyone is outside of their comfort zone right now.
00:17:01You want to shine, but you have to do it in a fabric that's been chosen for you.
00:17:06And I also feel like a jumpsuit that doesn't look like a jumpsuit is not boring.
00:17:11So maybe it's time for me to go with my gut.
00:17:14Those are my thoughts.
00:17:19Hi.
00:17:20Big picture, what are you doing?
00:17:22I want to do something like a chic street inspired look.
00:17:26Mm-hmm.
00:17:27Like a really nice flowy hoodie that translates into a top.
00:17:30Mm-hmm.
00:17:31I want sort of like flowy pants.
00:17:32I was just kind of playing with the shape.
00:17:34Is this going to be the most impactful thing that you could do?
00:17:43Right.
00:17:44Because you kind of can do anything.
00:17:46Can I show you another sketch?
00:17:47Yeah, I want to see.
00:17:48All right.
00:17:49I thought of like having the zippers open up into like a Kalalini kind of like shape.
00:17:53That's what you should do.
00:17:54Really?
00:17:55Are you sure?
00:17:56Yeah.
00:17:57That I think is a bit more.
00:17:58Pushing.
00:17:59Innovative.
00:18:00Okay.
00:18:01That is something that others can't do.
00:18:03I think part of it.
00:18:04You're fast.
00:18:05No, I'm not fast.
00:18:06You are fast.
00:18:07What is wrong with you?
00:18:08You act like I don't know you.
00:18:09Christian hasn't seen me work in 16 years.
00:18:12Last thing that we have an hour left.
00:18:16I am concerned and I'm freaking out.
00:18:18You're fast.
00:18:19Not a test of me.
00:18:20Okay, there we go.
00:18:21I was sewing like so fast.
00:18:23I wasn't even talking to people.
00:18:25Come on, I'm pushing you.
00:18:26Okay, I can't wait to see it.
00:18:28Hurry up.
00:18:29No pressure.
00:18:30All right, designers.
00:18:31Your models will be here in about an hour.
00:18:33Right.
00:18:34Remember, push yourselves.
00:18:35This is the opportunity to stand out.
00:18:37That's perfect.
00:18:39Bye.
00:18:40Thank you, Christian.
00:18:41Love you.
00:18:42Oh, it's red.
00:18:48Oh, cute.
00:18:50I'm trying to turn this suit in.
00:18:51A little something something?
00:18:52Yeah.
00:18:53Was that after a Christian or were you?
00:18:54Yeah, it was after a Christian.
00:18:55I'm dripping a whole dress over a suit.
00:18:57Come on.
00:18:58You need a brain break.
00:18:59Let's go.
00:19:00Yeah, I do need a brain break.
00:19:01Christian said, oh, no, sir.
00:19:02I'm not known for making a suit.
00:19:05And he felt like this might work against me.
00:19:07Well, you have draped.
00:19:08It's beautiful.
00:19:09Yeah, I like that drape.
00:19:10I'm just gonna use the top of the suit to use as a bodice.
00:19:15It's one day challenge.
00:19:16So now the time to start from scratch, redraft.
00:19:20It's just not happening.
00:19:22So I need to take this body of a suit that I started.
00:19:26Somehow, somewhere, figure it out and turn it into a dress.
00:19:29And then do some draping.
00:19:33Doing the Lord's work.
00:19:35I was like, oh, I'm gonna do a dress.
00:19:37A little short dress.
00:19:38And now you're like, it's a new rule.
00:19:40I am most known for bringing the gowns.
00:19:44The elegance, the southern decadence.
00:19:47I'm in about 450 stores and selling all across the world.
00:19:51I love helping my clients look and feel their most beautiful.
00:19:54This is why I love dressing women.
00:19:57I love dressing women.
00:20:03Okay.
00:20:04I'm commuting.
00:20:05That's the jumpsuit.
00:20:06I was gonna do two pieces.
00:20:09It could turn into one.
00:20:14Hi, designers.
00:20:15Hi, Christian.
00:20:16Hi.
00:20:17Are we ready for a model?
00:20:19Ready for a model?
00:20:23Like really ready?
00:20:25Yes!
00:20:26Yes!
00:20:27Here they come!
00:20:30Ooh, Mimi!
00:20:31Hi!
00:20:34She's like, oh my god, what do you have?
00:20:36Change.
00:20:37Okay.
00:20:39Oh, those are hot.
00:20:41Work.
00:20:45Okay.
00:20:46So I'm gonna recut this strap.
00:20:50The neck was way too small, so now I need to make the collar bigger and the neck part bigger.
00:20:55Now, let's get you in some pants.
00:20:58I've never really worked with this fabric before.
00:21:02Working on these pants, I made them oversized so that I would have space to fit Didi.
00:21:07Gonna obviously take in a ton over here.
00:21:09But I didn't realize how tiny Didi was and made them way, way too big.
00:21:14This is it. The pants are amazing.
00:21:16They look as good as they're gonna look until I take them in and...
00:21:19And what's the top?
00:21:20The top is in progress. I have to recut the band so I can't show you.
00:21:24Oh.
00:21:25I really want to finish my vision. I really want to make this work.
00:21:28But unfortunately, my learning curve with this fabric has held me back.
00:21:31Definitely need to see them taking in a smidge.
00:21:34Got it.
00:21:35I know I am taking a big risk just because I think that the judges are probably expecting some kind of cool streetwear pants look.
00:21:42And I do have that side of me and that's what I already do quite well now.
00:21:46I'm really looking to push my boundaries and go beyond what I already do on a daily basis.
00:21:50So I just hope they're ready for this.
00:21:52I think that's it.
00:21:54This is it.
00:21:55No, I'm working on it.
00:21:56Do a little walk.
00:21:57It's a little safe in the front.
00:22:11Okay.
00:22:12Okay.
00:22:13But very pretty.
00:22:14Okay.
00:22:15Pretty but safe.
00:22:16Pretty but safe.
00:22:17I actually love it.
00:22:18To make draping look like tailoring, it's not easy.
00:22:22That is the turn.
00:22:24Well, we tried.
00:22:27Hmm.
00:22:28Interesting.
00:22:29Kind of a vibe.
00:22:30It's a vibe?
00:22:31It's the vibe.
00:22:32It still needs the overskirt.
00:22:37Do you know what I mean?
00:22:38Because then when you take the overskirt off.
00:22:40Hmm.
00:22:41It's a cool vibe.
00:22:42I like it.
00:22:43Awesome.
00:22:45It's finished.
00:22:46Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:22:47Perfectly.
00:22:48Yes.
00:22:49Because you see everything.
00:22:52You need that cuff.
00:22:53Mm-hmm.
00:22:54Yeah, of course.
00:22:55And don't overly press that.
00:22:57Well, because it might stretch out.
00:22:58You're going to have a wonky crotch.
00:23:00Hmm.
00:23:01Okay.
00:23:02You have everything.
00:23:03Yeah.
00:23:04Yeah.
00:23:05What are you doing?
00:23:07Feeding.
00:23:08This?
00:23:09It's going to be all around.
00:23:11Uh-huh.
00:23:12You love that?
00:23:14Uh-huh.
00:23:17This is the dress that's not exciting him up.
00:23:21What else can it be?
00:23:24I don't know if you can just stick ruffles on this.
00:23:27I don't feel this is the result that I want initially.
00:23:30You need to figure out what this dress is, Anne.
00:23:33I'm going to murder you.
00:23:35I want to murder myself.
00:23:37You may be sweating.
00:23:38Good.
00:23:39Mm-hmm.
00:23:40Oh, God.
00:23:41This ruffle needs to be more interesting.
00:23:51Could this wrap or something?
00:23:54Something else.
00:23:55Play around with it.
00:23:56I have tons of ruffles to make, and it is not easy.
00:24:00This is the hard direction to go, but I have to make this happen.
00:24:04Time is never enough.
00:24:06Three hours, guys.
00:24:08So I'll get that most fitted.
00:24:11Yeah, she's unzipped.
00:24:13Literally.
00:24:14Yes.
00:24:15Sometimes you have to take a turn.
00:24:17Honestly.
00:24:18I love a turn.
00:24:19I love a turn.
00:24:20It's like a little rough and tumble, but...
00:24:25Any sleeves yet?
00:24:26They come in.
00:24:27Hmm.
00:24:28I work differently.
00:24:29This is early for me.
00:24:30Early.
00:24:31Yeah.
00:24:32So I'm about to have her measurements.
00:24:33Perfecto.
00:24:34Nothing.
00:24:35Who knows?
00:24:37All right, designers.
00:24:38Say goodbye to your models.
00:24:39I love you.
00:24:40Thank you, models.
00:24:41Bye, models.
00:24:43Bye, models.
00:24:45Bye.
00:24:46All right, designers.
00:24:47Come gather around.
00:24:48I have a little treat for you.
00:24:50Treat or twist?
00:24:51Twist or treat?
00:24:52It's not a twist.
00:24:53It's a treat.
00:24:54We love treats.
00:24:55Yes.
00:24:56All right, designers.
00:24:57This challenge is all about creating looks that stand out.
00:25:00And we want you guys to stand out, too.
00:25:03So each of you is getting a little personal shopping trip.
00:25:07Love it.
00:25:09Yeah.
00:25:10That's a treat.
00:25:11That is a treat.
00:25:12Does it have to be red?
00:25:13What?
00:25:14Fun?
00:25:15Yes.
00:25:16And guess what?
00:25:17What?
00:25:18I'm the one taking you shopping.
00:25:24Because I'm the man with the Wells Fargo Active Cash Card.
00:25:28And I earn 2% cash rewards on purchases.
00:25:33That's good for me.
00:25:34That is good.
00:25:35They're giving the winner of this challenge $10,000.
00:25:40We didn't get that in my day.
00:25:41Right.
00:25:42We had three cameramen and Chinese food.
00:25:44And that was it.
00:25:45Good.
00:25:47All right, designers.
00:25:48You have two hours to work.
00:25:50And you're going to meet me at the cute shop down the street when you're done.
00:25:52I'm so excited.
00:25:53I'm so excited.
00:25:54Get to work.
00:25:55$10,000.
00:25:56Bye.
00:26:02My pants are half done.
00:26:03I'm starting to freak out.
00:26:04I don't love the material.
00:26:06And I am not getting it to do what I need.
00:26:08I just didn't account for the stretch.
00:26:11It's just too chunky and it's too funky.
00:26:14Hopefully after this, I'm done with this .
00:26:17And then you're moving on to the bottoms.
00:26:19The bottom is the one that takes the least, so I'm not tripping over that.
00:26:22Oh, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
00:26:24How much more do you have to do?
00:26:25Uh, a lot.
00:26:27Are you going to make it though?
00:26:28I don't know.
00:26:29You don't know.
00:26:31I am adding more ruffles.
00:26:33I'm trying to figure out to make this ruffle on the body more romantic, more fun.
00:26:38Figuring out what is the best way to put materials together.
00:26:42Anna literally just made the same judge she made a few weeks ago.
00:26:47I don't know if the judges are going to call her out, but we'll see how that works out.
00:26:54Yeah, hi, Anna.
00:26:55Uh-huh.
00:26:56Yeah.
00:26:57Yeah.
00:26:58These ruffles.
00:26:59Yeah, they're played out.
00:27:00Yeah, you did that two challenges ago.
00:27:01Yeah.
00:27:02Oh.
00:27:03Are you there?
00:27:04Okay.
00:27:05Guess you don't care.
00:27:06We have 30 minutes left.
00:27:08I'm pressing.
00:27:10I'm stressing.
00:27:11Ugh.
00:27:12It's the end of the work day and I should have stepped back and looked around the room because
00:27:21I failed to notice that there are other drapes going on in the room.
00:27:26My language is draping and what I am doing intentionally, I see that other people are doing as problem-solving.
00:27:35The pressure is getting wester and wester.
00:27:38Tune in on the next episode of Project Runway.
00:27:41Where I pop off and lose my .
00:27:42All right, y'all.
00:27:43We're done.
00:27:44You did good.
00:27:45It's time to go yawping.
00:27:46You did good.
00:27:47It's time to go yawping.
00:27:48Hi.
00:27:49Hello.
00:27:50Oh, my God.
00:27:51Hello.
00:27:52Let's go shopping.
00:27:53The jacket is so dope.
00:27:54That's not cute.
00:27:55But that's large.
00:27:56But that would be cool.
00:27:57Like, oversized.
00:27:58I love to shop.
00:27:59The fact that we're on Christian's dime is really cute and I know he's actually rich, so it's
00:28:03going to be some pretty good shopping.
00:28:04Those are cool.
00:28:05They are.
00:28:06Oh, my God.
00:28:07So cute.
00:28:08You must get it.
00:28:09I need this coat so bad.
00:28:10That's cool, right?
00:28:11Everybody can use new clothes because I think by now we've, like, worn most of our things
00:28:12that we brought.
00:28:13If you need help, just let me know.
00:28:15Okay.
00:28:17They're cute, though.
00:28:18Bring it all up.
00:28:19Oh, my God.
00:28:22I love to shop.
00:28:23The fact that we're on Christian's dime is really cute and I know he's actually rich,
00:28:24so it's going to be some pretty good shopping.
00:28:25Those are cool.
00:28:26Oh, my God.
00:28:27So cute.
00:28:28You must get it.
00:28:29I need this coat so bad.
00:28:30That's cool, right?
00:28:31Everybody can use new clothes because I think by now we've, like, worn most of our things that
00:28:34we brought.
00:28:35If you need help, just let me know.
00:28:36Okay.
00:28:42Thank you so much.
00:28:44Everything was on me.
00:28:45Mm-hmm.
00:28:49Coming up?
00:28:50It got so short.
00:28:52Yeah.
00:28:53It's fully out.
00:28:54Why is everybody's booty out in this challenge?
00:28:57Wow.
00:28:58It's an insult.
00:28:59This is bull .
00:29:10Come in.
00:29:11Hey.
00:29:12Come.
00:29:13Come.
00:29:14Come down.
00:29:15You look fresh today.
00:29:16I do not feel fresh.
00:29:17Well, you look it.
00:29:19I know I have to recut the collar and recut the bands for the top and refit the pants,
00:29:25and I need to do it really fast.
00:29:26How are you feeling?
00:29:27It's a lot.
00:29:28It is very challenging that you are having the same thing and everyone wants to do the
00:29:32best.
00:29:33You hope that your personal voice comes through in this challenge.
00:29:36It's going to be interesting along the way.
00:29:39Hey, guys.
00:29:40Let's go and paint this town in rouge.
00:29:43Let's do this thing.
00:29:48Here we go.
00:29:49Too much red up in here.
00:29:52Too much red for you.
00:29:53I got to make this look stand out.
00:29:55It was just on the top last week.
00:29:57I definitely don't want to be on the bottom.
00:29:58And whoever wins this gets 10K.
00:30:00This red challenge, honey.
00:30:02I'm here for it.
00:30:03Yes.
00:30:04This is all hand tacked.
00:30:05Yes.
00:30:06What is it that you're working on?
00:30:07This little, long, beautiful, flowy skirt over my tiny little dress.
00:30:12I'm making a tiny skirt, too.
00:30:16All right.
00:30:17One step done.
00:30:1945 to go.
00:30:21Everybody did this draping thing.
00:30:23And I went in like a completely different route with like the top stitching and doing it in a sporty way.
00:30:30So I'm hoping that that risk is worth it.
00:30:33Very little time.
00:30:35Good morning, designers.
00:30:38Good morning, Christian.
00:30:39Happy show day.
00:30:41Happy show day.
00:30:42Happy show day.
00:30:43Happy show day.
00:30:44Happy show day.
00:30:45Who wants a model?
00:30:46I do.
00:30:47Yes.
00:30:48Five.
00:30:49Hello, gorgeous lady.
00:30:50Here we go.
00:30:51Yeah.
00:30:52You look cute.
00:30:53Uh-huh.
00:30:54Uh-huh.
00:30:55I'll try this to chop on so I can see where to put the closure.
00:30:58I'll be done with this top in two minutes, but you're too early.
00:31:01I need to get this top done.
00:31:02I need to fit in on Didi.
00:31:03I need to finish enough that we have a look.
00:31:06Uh, top time.
00:31:08Little kid about to cry.
00:31:10Oh.
00:31:11And he had the tears.
00:31:12I am a little obsessed with what Bishmi is doing.
00:31:17The faces on the garment.
00:31:20I feel like this is really clever and it's on a road that nobody else is trailing.
00:31:26See this little moment here?
00:31:28Yes.
00:31:29Ha-ha-ha.
00:31:30Yeah?
00:31:31Good.
00:31:32Red's making us crazy.
00:31:35What were your inspirations?
00:31:36So I started clubbing very young.
00:31:39I wanted to have clothes to go out.
00:31:42By the time I was 15, I was already well into the nightlife scene and a great way to communicate
00:31:49your style is through original clothing and I didn't have money for it.
00:31:55Being that the sewing machine was in my room, I would just collect whatever scraps I had
00:32:00and then patch them together and that's how I started making clothes.
00:32:03It makes me feel unique or empowered and that's my favorite part.
00:32:07The crotch is a little wonky because I didn't get to fit you a million times.
00:32:10So we gotta go now ask Bishmi because I trust him above all else.
00:32:13I am definitely seeing fit issues.
00:32:15Bish, I need you.
00:32:16I need you my darling.
00:32:17I'm definitely starting to feel fear.
00:32:20The pants crotch.
00:32:21Do I need to do this belt thing?
00:32:22I took the crotch and wonky.
00:32:24That's what I'm talking about because I took too much.
00:32:26I didn't take enough from the back and I took too much from the front.
00:32:28Don't overthink it.
00:32:29You're good.
00:32:30I don't need my weird waist belt.
00:32:31Don't overthink it.
00:32:33Designers, when you're ready, take your models to the makeup studio and the Tresemme hair salon.
00:32:38You need it.
00:32:39Yeah.
00:32:40Okay.
00:32:41So the hair, I want something sporty.
00:32:42Like something messy and just, uh, real clean, real sleek.
00:32:45There's a lot of volume and I don't want anything else to distract.
00:32:49Definitely the orange and then metallic.
00:32:51Yeah.
00:32:52I want her to glow.
00:32:53Daytime red carpet.
00:32:55Yes.
00:32:56That's perfect.
00:32:57Is she trimming for you?
00:33:00That's nice.
00:33:01Look at all these.
00:33:02Get all these.
00:33:03Get all these.
00:33:04Get them off.
00:33:05Hand tacking these ruffles is going to take forever.
00:33:08I just hope we have enough time to finish this.
00:33:11Let's see.
00:33:12A little short.
00:33:13Okay.
00:33:14After doing Jessica's fitting, I realized that her torso is way longer than I thought it was.
00:33:20It got so short.
00:33:23The skirt is literally almost to her crotch.
00:33:27Okay.
00:33:28Well, you have 10 minutes.
00:33:29You better cut a hem right now.
00:33:31It looks gorgeous back here.
00:33:34The booty gets covered, right?
00:33:35Yeah.
00:33:36Because it's fully out.
00:33:37Why is everybody's booty out in this challenge?
00:33:40Get out of here.
00:33:41Everyone's over me today.
00:33:42Okay.
00:33:46This is a this.
00:33:47You have like seven minutes.
00:33:49I know.
00:33:50But you know what?
00:33:51I'm going to f***ing do it.
00:33:53Five minutes, designer.
00:33:54Then we're leaving this room.
00:33:56Stop stressing me.
00:33:58Let me see.
00:33:59I couldn't achieve the vision that I wanted at the beginning because it is not innovative
00:34:06to me.
00:34:07All right, designers.
00:34:08Two minutes.
00:34:09Almost there.
00:34:10I added a piece to the skirt that I really thought was going to be long enough.
00:34:15It didn't even look like it moved an inch.
00:34:17Just have to pull it down a little.
00:34:19Like I'll trim all that.
00:34:20Yeah, it's better.
00:34:21All right.
00:34:22Get it as smooth as possible.
00:34:24The pants maybe didn't turn out exactly like I wanted them to, but at the end of the day,
00:34:28they're doing some cool s***.
00:34:30Perfect.
00:34:33All right, designers.
00:34:34That's it.
00:34:35Let's head to the Run Whip.
00:34:36All right.
00:34:37Iconic.
00:34:38Last look.
00:34:39Oh my God.
00:34:40One minute until the show.
00:34:43Oh my God.
00:34:44It's not coming off?
00:34:45Uh-uh.
00:34:46The reveal is really important, but there's no way I could send her out there with a mini-skirt
00:34:53that short.
00:34:54I just feel it's too short and I don't want her to flash the judges.
00:34:58No, Christian.
00:34:59The skirt is not coming off.
00:35:00She looks beautiful.
00:35:01We're good here.
00:35:02All right, designers.
00:35:03Time is up.
00:35:04Let's start the show.
00:35:05Judges are in their seats.
00:35:06Fabulous.
00:35:07I'm ready.
00:35:19Designers.
00:35:20Keep going.
00:35:21How's everyone?
00:35:22Great.
00:35:23It brings me so much joy to introduce you to tonight's guest judge.
00:35:28We have with us Emmy award winning writer, actor, producer, and
00:35:36master of style.
00:35:38Woo!
00:35:39Woo!
00:35:40Woo!
00:35:41My dear friend, Lena Waithe.
00:35:43Woo!
00:35:44Woo!
00:35:45Woo!
00:35:46Take your bow, sis!
00:35:47Oh, God.
00:35:48Hi, everybody.
00:35:49Hi.
00:35:50Hi.
00:35:51Oh, my God.
00:35:53This is my favorite thing about Project Runway, is getting to see who the guest judges
00:35:58are.
00:35:59And Lena Waithe is a queer icon.
00:36:03It's the goosebumps.
00:36:04And I feel like to get her to critique my garment is already a win.
00:36:09I'm so happy to be here.
00:36:11And I'm excited to see what you cooked up.
00:36:15Thank you for everything you've done for us.
00:36:16Thank you so much.
00:36:17From designer to designer, this is the most exciting thing because when you are all having
00:36:24the same materials to get to see your point of view and to get to see who you are, I mean,
00:36:30this is really such a moment.
00:36:31So I'm excited to see who succeeded.
00:36:34I'm only excited to see who succeeded because we never like to see a failure.
00:36:39You know what I mean?
00:36:40All right.
00:36:41Let's start the show.
00:36:42Woo!
00:36:43Let's do it.
00:36:44This look has my DNA written all over it.
00:36:58It's literally active wear taken in a way that's ready to wear for the runway.
00:37:05It's sexy.
00:37:06It's ready to literally be put on a rack and throw a price tag on it.
00:37:11And I'm so thrilled that the judges can now see me and showing them who I am and who
00:37:16I've grown to be as a designer.
00:37:18I love the dress.
00:37:31It's giving exactly what I need it to do.
00:37:34It's very well fit onto her body.
00:37:37The drip is beautiful.
00:37:38It is completely something new for me.
00:37:44I'm very happy that I was able to put it off.
00:37:50My look goes down and I love it.
00:37:57I love the way the basket we just came together.
00:37:59The pants are moving and it's very signature to me.
00:38:03Yes, girl.
00:38:05Definitely this look represents who I am.
00:38:10And hopefully the judges see that and recognize it.
00:38:17Seeing this look come down the runway, I am really proud of the decisions that I made.
00:38:26When I talk about draping being the language, this is a prime example of that.
00:38:31It's meticulously crafted to showcase the body, but at the same time it is an expression that only I can bring to life.
00:38:44From the limitation of the material and the time, I think I'm happy.
00:38:59Even if it's not the vision that I wanted at the beginning.
00:39:03It's so cool and it does represent my aesthetic and I made something very artistic and complicated and different.
00:39:15Would I have liked to reveal the short cute dress?
00:39:26Absolutely.
00:39:27It was so dope.
00:39:28It's still beautiful and it stands on its own even without the reveal.
00:39:37I mean, just the way that it moves just looks like silk.
00:39:54Seeing my look go down the runway, Dee Dee is killing it.
00:39:56I love the way she's walking.
00:39:58I'm really proud of what I did here.
00:40:01A lot of the looks on the runway tonight are looking a little too similar.
00:40:08And I really think I did a good job of setting myself apart.
00:40:11And I brought something original to the mix.
00:40:21This look is not so much about what I'm capable of, but more showing a softer side of me.
00:40:29Personally, I feel like I've done enough to be in the top.
00:40:34But technically, it's not the hardest thing I made.
00:40:37Let's just say that.
00:40:38Ooh, I am so glad I made a gown for this runway, y'all.
00:40:49Yes.
00:40:50So different from anything I've shown before.
00:40:53This look has Jonathan Cain all over it.
00:40:55And it definitely is different from all of the other designers.
00:40:59I'm giving a plunge and a gorgeous back and gorgeous draping wrapping around the body.
00:41:05And I love it.
00:41:09I don't know what the hell to think right now.
00:41:12I'll tell you what I think.
00:41:13Please.
00:41:14Because it's alarming.
00:41:16Alarming.
00:41:17Nina is alarmed.
00:41:18I heard.
00:41:19I can't wait to hear it.
00:41:29I feel that my look stands out.
00:41:31I think she looks sexy.
00:41:32She looks sleek.
00:41:33She looks effortless.
00:41:34I love the way the zipper accents the red fabric and kind of just like opens up.
00:41:39Yes.
00:41:40Work it.
00:41:41I think I'm the only one who thought about the zippers in that way.
00:41:46And I think that that's what sets my design apart from the rest.
00:41:57This look definitely represents who I am as a designer.
00:42:00I'm one of those people that love to take a chance.
00:42:02Papels are popping.
00:42:03The top stitch on the pants look amazing.
00:42:04The length of the pants are amazing.
00:42:05So I'm just really blown away by what I've created with this little bit of time we were
00:42:21provided with.
00:42:22Come on, Red.
00:42:27Come on, Red.
00:42:37Pretty good.
00:42:38Good job today.
00:42:39Yeah, we did good.
00:42:40Yeah.
00:42:41Guess you all turn into drapers and minimalists.
00:42:44Uh-oh.
00:42:45Damn.
00:42:46It's true.
00:42:47She was alarmed.
00:42:57Designers, please step up to the runway.
00:42:58Oh, my God.
00:42:59This was a challenge to show us what your point of view is.
00:43:11And unless you guys have all turned into minimalists, there were a lot of very similar
00:43:17looks.
00:43:18And this is, at the end of the day, competition for creativity.
00:43:22Designers, we've scored your designs.
00:43:24We would like to speak to Rami, Brittany, Anna, Hester, Fabio, and Carason.
00:43:33Everyone else, that means you are in and you can lead the runway.
00:43:37There you go.
00:43:39Bye.
00:43:40I mean, I get to sit and drink for once.
00:43:47The six of you had the highest and the lowest scores.
00:43:52One of you will be the winner and take home $10,000.
00:43:57And one of you will be up.
00:44:00All right.
00:44:01We are going to start with one of our highest scores of the evening.
00:44:06Oh, what a treat.
00:44:13So, Brittany, how do you feel?
00:44:17Relieved after last week.
00:44:20I wanted to do something that was like 40 spice if she was a Gen Z.
00:44:25Talk to me about the choice of the top stitching.
00:44:27I knew that like all of these pieces together could look really flat because it is just one color.
00:44:33I wanted you to see like all the lines and the details.
00:44:36It was probably a risk because obviously it's white and not red.
00:44:39It was a risk that paid off though.
00:44:41So smart of you to do the top stitching.
00:44:44So smart of you to do the crisscross.
00:44:47So smart of you to do the snaps.
00:44:50It delivered on design, but also in practicality.
00:44:55It is extremely sexy, but there's something very just really fly about it.
00:45:02And it seems to also be refined.
00:45:05Okay.
00:45:06We have to talk about these pants.
00:45:07They're so well made and they fit Mimi like within an inch of Mimi's life.
00:45:14You really nailed it.
00:45:16Thank you, Brittany.
00:45:17Mimi, you may leave the runway.
00:45:22We are going to now take a look at one of our lowest scores of the evening.
00:45:32Oh, come on.
00:45:33The dress is beautiful.
00:45:34I think so too.
00:45:35I'm sorry.
00:45:36Rami?
00:45:37Yes.
00:45:38Hello.
00:45:39Hi.
00:45:40What would you say in this dress is indicative of who you are as a designer?
00:45:47I think incorporating the zipper into the actual dress, like the hard and the soft sort of detail.
00:45:52It's such a fine, easy look.
00:45:54When you're putting a medal on that, you're then choosing to highlight every issue that is there.
00:46:01Yeah.
00:46:02To me, this feels like a rushed afterthought.
00:46:06It didn't flatter her body.
00:46:09If you have 15 minutes to make a dress, at least make it fit.
00:46:12I respect your opinion.
00:46:14I think the zipper didn't quite work for me exactly just because I think it's almost too thin.
00:46:18If I'm a little far away, I have to almost be up close to really see that as a zipper.
00:46:22So I almost wish you would have leaned into it even more.
00:46:25The styling is a little problematic.
00:46:28I could have done without the bangle or the earring.
00:46:32It just needed to look a little more modern.
00:46:34But all in all, I like this dress.
00:46:37Thank you, Rami.
00:46:38Mariel, you can leave the runway.
00:46:42Okay, let's bring out one of the lowest scores of the night.
00:46:52Esther, tell us about your look.
00:46:57I have never used a spongy polyester before, and so I was a little out of my element.
00:47:03Okay.
00:47:04Got it.
00:47:05Pants are a crossover bell-bottom, and then I did a side ruching.
00:47:10And then the top is an asymmetrical drape with a little collar over here.
00:47:15I think this really was a difficult challenge for you, and it shows.
00:47:20The ruching on the side looks sloppy.
00:47:23The seams look uneven.
00:47:26It feels unfinished.
00:47:28You can't hide it.
00:47:29You can't even style out of it.
00:47:31There is a lot going on.
00:47:33I think, ultimately, it might just be a need to edit a little bit.
00:47:39You threw a Hail Mary here, let's be honest.
00:47:41Yeah.
00:47:42And I think what really truly happened is that it just wasn't working from a construction point of view,
00:47:47which you've pointed out, and so you took us to Paris in the 70s.
00:47:49Well, let me just tell you this.
00:47:51One thing it ain't is boring.
00:47:53That is true.
00:47:54Okay?
00:47:55It's something that's meant to be worn in the dark, in the club.
00:47:58It's a one-night-only look.
00:47:59Does it look a little cheap?
00:48:01Yeah.
00:48:02Does that speak more to the fabric than your talent?
00:48:07I think so.
00:48:09I really appreciate that.
00:48:10Okay.
00:48:11Thank you, Hester.
00:48:12TD, you may leave the runway.
00:48:14Let's move on to a favorite of the night.
00:48:23Mm-mm.
00:48:24Wait.
00:48:25No, wait.
00:48:26Wait, wait, wait.
00:48:27Wait.
00:48:28Wait a minute.
00:48:29It's gonna go left.
00:48:30That's all I could tell you.
00:48:31It's gonna go left real quick.
00:48:32Yeah.
00:48:33She's not good.
00:48:34She's already crying, Lord.
00:48:35I don't wanna hear this one.
00:48:36I do.
00:48:37Whew.
00:48:38How are you feeling?
00:48:39I don't know.
00:48:40Surprised.
00:48:41I wear all my jewelry because I literally thought I would go home tonight.
00:48:54Just in case you had to head straight to the airport?
00:48:56Yes.
00:48:57Relax.
00:48:58You're in the top.
00:48:59So tell us about the look.
00:49:01Instead of doing one piece of garment, I want to make something artistic.
00:49:06Creating this sculptural line.
00:49:09Oh, wow.
00:49:12How many more times is she going to do a ruffle dress?
00:49:15This is Groundhog's Day.
00:49:16There's nothing against Anna personally, but she makes the same exact look and she's in the top.
00:49:20Like, come on.
00:49:21Everybody's like, oh, wait.
00:49:22The memory game.
00:49:23This is a match.
00:49:24This is a technique that you played with a little bit in unconventional materials, right?
00:49:29That was the, uh, uh, you remember the piano back?
00:49:32Yeah, that was a plastic thing.
00:49:34This is polyester.
00:49:36Got it.
00:49:39This challenge was about standing out.
00:49:42And yours stood out to me.
00:49:45I think it's very clear that an individual came up with it.
00:49:48And I think that's what we were looking for.
00:49:50Something that just feels unlike anyone else.
00:49:53That's crazy.
00:49:54I know.
00:49:55I'm about to go.
00:49:56I'm done.
00:49:57That's some bull .
00:49:58Clearly, we can repeat looks here.
00:50:00Oh, boy.
00:50:01This bull right now is a joke.
00:50:03But there's different rules for different people here.
00:50:05This is crazy.
00:50:06Mm-hmm.
00:50:07This is bull .
00:50:10My damn.
00:50:11This is all stars.
00:50:12You got the best of the best to ever do it.
00:50:15It's an insult.
00:50:16It's insulting.
00:50:17It is.
00:50:18Clearly, we can repeat looks here.
00:50:23It's an insult.
00:50:24It's insulting.
00:50:25It is.
00:50:26As an editor, when I saw it, I zeroed in on your work.
00:50:28And I thought, you are creative.
00:50:29You worked your butt off.
00:50:31Why are we even here?
00:50:32Everyone is coming at Anna for making the same design.
00:50:33At first, I was salty as hell, but I realized Anna is sticking to her guns and creating looks
00:50:39with ruffles as a signature.
00:50:40I respect that she knows the type of designer she is.
00:50:41You just never know what the judges are looking for.
00:50:42Anna, thank you.
00:50:43Shanae, you can leave the runway.
00:50:47You've worked your butt off.
00:50:48You've worked your butt off.
00:50:50Why are we even here?
00:50:51Everyone is coming at Anna for making the same design.
00:50:54At first, I was salty as hell, but I realized Anna is sticking to her guns and creating looks
00:50:57with ruffles as a signature.
00:50:59I respect that she knows the type of designer she is.
00:51:03You just never know what the judges are looking for.
00:51:06Anna, thank you.
00:51:07Shanae, you can leave the runway.
00:51:09When they come in here, it's going to be tense.
00:51:13Oh, it's going to get licked.
00:51:14It's going to get real, and I hope it does.
00:51:17I'm going to be the bartender.
00:51:19The next look was one of our highest scores.
00:51:32Karasan, how do you feel?
00:51:34I feel great.
00:51:35I'm a costume designer.
00:51:36I wanted to mix up what I'm known for, the gowns, the cutouts, and bring in what I'm now known for as well and marry them together.
00:51:45It looked so perfectly matched to your model.
00:51:49You were able to show us your background as costume designer, but at the same time, you were able to edit down.
00:51:59It feels fashion.
00:52:01I just loved it.
00:52:02I thought it was chic.
00:52:03I thought it was dramatic.
00:52:04It's clear that her statuesque frame inspired the design.
00:52:08It was a whole vibe.
00:52:10It's very cinematic.
00:52:12Almost as fairytale, but also dark story as well that's happening.
00:52:16That's what I try to do is create memories with fashion.
00:52:19I know, yes.
00:52:20It's good to know that you play in this world.
00:52:21Thank you, and I love your work.
00:52:23Oh, thank you.
00:52:24The fashion in your work is amazing.
00:52:26I'm loving this elevator pitch moment right now that's happening.
00:52:29Karisan, next thing we're going to see your name and credits on one of Lena's projects.
00:52:33Yeah.
00:52:34Yeah.
00:52:35How could they not love that?
00:52:36I mean, it's cool.
00:52:37Karisan, thank you so much.
00:52:38Jessica, you can leave the runway.
00:52:40We are going to move on to one of our lowest scores of the evening.
00:52:44Fabio, how are you?
00:52:54To be frank, I'm a little distraught.
00:52:56Why so?
00:52:57Being that I am a draper and a minimalist, I felt like all of the draping comments were directed towards this garment.
00:53:06I don't think any draping comments are directed at you.
00:53:09I think you should just take that off your mind before you start.
00:53:13Tell us about the process of making the look.
00:53:15This is actually a jumpsuit, so I wanted to make a look that from every angle you would see something different.
00:53:20So from the front is a dress, from the side you see the skin, it has a cape, and then from the back you see the pants, but it's all one piece.
00:53:27Fabio.
00:53:28Anina.
00:53:29To be honest with you, when she walked down the runway, I could not see the nuance that this was one piece.
00:53:38Without you explaining it, I would not have been able to notice that.
00:53:44Okay.
00:53:45The drape of this is absolutely beautiful.
00:53:47It's just that I have definitely seen more forward experimental things from you.
00:53:54It's not that this is bad.
00:53:57It's that it's a little boring.
00:53:59Okay.
00:54:00For a runway show.
00:54:01Okay.
00:54:02And I think that's why you're in the bottom this week.
00:54:04Understood.
00:54:05Thank you for the comments.
00:54:06Thank you, Fabio.
00:54:07Thank you very much, designers.
00:54:11You can leave the runway and we'll call you back when we're ready.
00:54:14Thanks so much.
00:54:16Mmm.
00:54:17I get it.
00:54:18No, you need a hug.
00:54:19Come here.
00:54:20Sit with me.
00:54:21I don't want you to ever think you anything less.
00:54:22Love you.
00:54:23Well, I'm going to make my African dress on the next challenge.
00:54:26I don't care what it is.
00:54:27Because clearly we can repeat looks here.
00:54:30Wow.
00:54:31Don't act like we're here being creative.
00:54:33You created the same dress two challenges ago.
00:54:36It was a weird energy.
00:54:39I feel the look of me like an enemy.
00:54:43This challenge is a weird energy.
00:54:45I feel the look of me like an enemy.
00:54:49This challenge is a weird energy.
00:54:52I feel the look of me like an enemy.
00:54:56This challenge was very deceptive because it seemed easy, but it really was not.
00:55:08I think what the three top designs have in common is that there's a wow factor.
00:55:15Yeah.
00:55:16We asked them to stand out.
00:55:17We asked them to be unique.
00:55:18And Anna did something different.
00:55:21It's really remarkable that she was able to create these like believable rouge ruffles.
00:55:25With polyester.
00:55:26That is a wild dress.
00:55:28And also, too, I think the imagination it took to create that silhouette.
00:55:33I know she said she wanted to be more elaborate, a little bit bigger, a little bit more dramatic.
00:55:37I can imagine that every designer right now is like, I can't believe she's on the top.
00:55:40Because it was like ruffles on like a cocktail dress.
00:55:43But you know what?
00:55:44At least it wasn't the same Grecian draped thing over and over and over and over.
00:55:50And at the end of the day, this is what this competition with the all-stars is all about.
00:55:55You've got to take that risk.
00:55:57Yeah.
00:55:58But Britney really transformed that fabric.
00:56:02With her stitching, with her ruching.
00:56:05I forgot this was crimp.
00:56:07And you could tell that the model felt so powerful and so comfortable and so sexy in it that I think that also added to it.
00:56:16I have been asking her to give us something original and she tries to push herself to be like almost in the couture space and she needs to not do that.
00:56:24And it's okay to be exactly who she is.
00:56:27Speaking of the perfect marriage between the model and the designer, I mean, Jessica Carason was sort of a match made in heaven tonight.
00:56:36I thought Carason's look could really walk the Grammy red carpet and slay.
00:56:41I mean, what she was able to do in terms of drama was really impressive, especially with that fabric and that amount of time.
00:56:48She created something that felt fit for a supermodel.
00:56:51It felt cinematic as soon as she turned the corner.
00:56:54So now for the difficult part, we have to choose someone that will be exiting stage left.
00:57:00Well, Fabio is one of them.
00:57:01I could understand how Fabio was confused why his draped look of all six of them was in the bottom.
00:57:07The look was really all about that pant.
00:57:10He wanted it to be layered.
00:57:12And unfortunately, he just swallowed his model and fabric so much that you couldn't see the pant.
00:57:18But we have to talk about Hester.
00:57:20And I understand that Hester came here in front of us being like, I've never worked with that fabric.
00:57:25Yeah.
00:57:26Well, that's the challenge.
00:57:28Yeah.
00:57:29So why would it be fair for her to get a pass?
00:57:32It's Hester.
00:57:33What do you expect?
00:57:34But like, turn the lights down low, put a disco ball on it.
00:57:38And I got the vibe.
00:57:39At least there was a vibe.
00:57:41Flip the light.
00:57:42Because it was...
00:57:43There was a lot going on.
00:57:44There was so much going on.
00:57:45It was the shoes.
00:57:46It was the hat.
00:57:48I mean, the tough thing for me is I think Rami's I struggled with a touch more.
00:57:53I liked it.
00:57:54I thought it gave me sexy, but it was still elegant.
00:57:58It felt like it wasn't runway ready.
00:58:02I agree with Lena.
00:58:03I really think that Rami's look was just underwhelming.
00:58:06Technically, there were a lot of things that had issues, but to me, it wasn't.
00:58:12It just wasn't the worst.
00:58:14I agree.
00:58:15Whew.
00:58:16This one's gonna hurt.
00:58:17Yeah.
00:58:18Well, Christian, honey, if there was ever a day to do a save, today would be the save.
00:58:23No.
00:58:33Brittany, Karisan, and Anna.
00:58:37It's good to see three women in the top.
00:58:39Yes.
00:58:40Yes.
00:58:41The three of you created looks with a clear point of view that stood out from your peers
00:58:47and that stood out on the runway.
00:58:50Anna.
00:58:53You are in.
00:58:56Nice job.
00:58:57You may leave the runway.
00:59:03Hey.
00:59:06Can I stay there?
00:59:07You're safe?
00:59:08Yeah.
00:59:09So, between Karisan and Brittany?
00:59:10Yeah.
00:59:11Congratulations.
00:59:16Brittany and Karisan, we loved the concept and the execution on both of your looks.
00:59:23But, I have to say, there was one unanimous winner.
00:59:30The winner is...
00:59:35Brittany.
00:59:36You are the winner of this challenge and the winner of $10,000 thanks to Wells Fargo Active Cash Card.
00:59:50Wow.
00:59:52So much.
00:59:53We really felt like yours could just walk right out of here and onto the street and they'd be turning heads.
00:59:59So, congratulations on a fantastic look and it's really good to meet you.
01:00:03That's such a big honor.
01:00:05Yeah.
01:00:06So much.
01:00:07Of course.
01:00:08Congratulations.
01:00:09Karisan, you are also in.
01:00:10Congratulations.
01:00:12You can both lead the runway.
01:00:13Congrats, ladies.
01:00:16Congratulations.
01:00:17Go celebrate.
01:00:18Thank you so much.
01:00:19I finally won a challenge.
01:00:21After being in the bottom and almost like literally being buried alive and going home.
01:00:27Did you win?
01:00:28I did.
01:00:29And then to come back and make something that is worthy of a win.
01:00:33It feels 10 times better than I ever could have imagined it feeling.
01:00:38And there's a prize to this.
01:00:42Take that $10,000 and do good with it.
01:00:46Rami, Fabio and Hester, unfortunately one of you will be out.
01:00:54Rami, your look did not stand out to some of the judges.
01:01:01And at the end, it was underwhelming.
01:01:05Hester, we appreciate you taking risks.
01:01:09But this time, you took too many that did not work.
01:01:14Fabio, you hid the most important part of your look behind too much fabric.
01:01:21And the result was too safe.
01:01:29Hester, I'm so sorry.
01:01:34You are out.
01:01:36So sorry to see you go.
01:01:39Hester, you have a singular vision.
01:01:42You remain true to yourself and that perspective that only you have.
01:01:48And I'm telling you, there is a place for you in this industry.
01:01:52This is not the end for you and you know that.
01:01:56Rami and Fabio, you can leave the runway.
01:01:59Can we leave your public?
01:02:00Of course.
01:02:02Thank you for this opportunity.
01:02:16Thank you for what you've given me in the past.
01:02:19I respect all of you a lot.
01:02:22Hester, thank you so much for being with us.
01:02:25I think I still definitely deserve to be here.
01:02:28I don't really know if being in the bottom one time for a fabric you're not used to is grounds for elimination.
01:02:35I think at the end of the day it comes down to who can do what with what and I couldn't do anything with this and this is where I am now.
01:02:45Hester, you know I love working with you.
01:02:49It's been a pleasure.
01:02:50It really has.
01:02:52I'm going to send you a work room to clean up your space.
01:02:54You're incredible.
01:02:55You know you are.
01:02:57Alright.
01:02:58Bye bye baby.
01:02:59Bye.
01:03:00Love you.
01:03:01I wanted to win but I was aware once I saw some of the heavy hitters who were there that that was probably not going to happen so mostly I was excited to make weird shit.
01:03:12But apparently weird shit wasn't on the menu so I will just continue doing that for myself.
01:03:28I'm not trying to be disrespectful.
01:03:30I know.
01:03:31But Hester did create something very new that she had not shown the judges before and went home.
01:03:37You feel the dress you made for the unconventional challenge and this dress were similar.
01:03:42I know what I've done.
01:03:43Yes.
01:03:44I'm not saying the same dress.
01:03:45I thought I'm going home.
01:03:46It's not her fault.
01:03:47It feels a little disrespectful.
01:03:50Wait.
01:03:51You guys.
01:03:52Can I say something?
01:03:53We are designers.
01:03:54We love what we do.
01:03:55We have an aesthetic.
01:03:57And now you're here creating art.
01:03:59So please don't bring any negativity into this thing.
01:04:07The mood has changed.
01:04:08The energy has changed.
01:04:10Just burn the whole day away.
01:04:12Just burn the whole balta fabric.
01:04:14I don't know if y'all know this but this right here is going to divide us.
01:04:22Next on Project Runway All Stars meet the always stunning Jenny Garth.
01:04:26Hello.
01:04:27Hello.
01:04:28For your challenge we are bringing back the 90s.
01:04:31Oh lord here we go.
01:04:32This faux vinyl I don't know.
01:04:34That's a bigger mannequin?
01:04:35Everybody's on edge.
01:04:36Last challenge got real ugly real quick.
01:04:39It still hurts.
01:04:40You don't have any of it done?
01:04:42Your choice of material was a mistake.
01:04:45I wanted more.
01:04:46The pleather is just it's giving me Halloween costumes.
01:04:48As a whole I didn't get it.
