Transcript
00:00We're going to be watching for more severe weather tomorrow for I-95 in the afternoon.
00:05Some of these storms will be severe, making a lot of noise tomorrow afternoon.
00:08Look out there in southeast New England.
00:10Damien?
00:11All right, Jeff.
00:12So, yes, we'll be watching out for increasing rain and thunderstorm chances heading into tomorrow.
00:16But we're also going to be watching out for some strong to severe storms heading into the forecast for tonight as well.
00:22So let's go and take a look at the latest.
00:23This is our updated AccuWeb exclusive storm zone.
00:25And storms are going to be firing from Oklahoma and Texas.
00:28And these storms are going to extend all the way into southwestern parts of PA.
00:32So we're talking thousands of miles of severe thunderstorm chances here as we head into tonight.
00:37So overall, the highest potential is going to be for damaging winds.
00:40There's going to be some damaging hail, even an elevated non-zero tornado threat,
00:44but frequent lightning and flooding rainfall are going to be the primary risk we track here for tonight.
00:50So as you look at the radar here the last hour, you can see we have three different areas here.
00:54We have a cluster of severe storms here from parts of Kentucky into West Virginia.
00:58We have a cluster of thunderstorms here from Tennessee in the southern parts of Kentucky.
01:02And now we have some severe storms here north of Dallas that we're going to be tracking as well.
01:08So Denton right there is seeing some strong to severe storms.
01:10And it's going to be those three areas that we are tracking.
01:13The storms are going to be moving from west to northeast.
01:17So overall, this is going to be the overall storm motion that we're going to be tracking with each one of these clusters.
01:22But it's going to be that cluster there just to the north of Dallas.
01:24It actually has the biggest impacts here as we head into tonight.
01:28Future track radar is showing that over the next three to six hours,
01:31the storms here across Tennessee and Kentucky will actually have the strongest impact,
01:35the biggest impacts with the strongest storms.
01:38However, as you look at midnight to 3 a.m., look at how these storms just explode here across central parts of Arkansas.
01:45This is where we're going to see strong winds, winds strong enough to damage trees and power lines.
01:49So there will be some power outage potential from Little Rock through Memphis there along I-40 as we head into tonight.
01:56And then look at the Mississippi River Valley here as we head into about 6 a.m.
02:00This is eastern time, 5 a.m. central time.
02:03Look at Memphis.
02:04We're going to see heavy rainfall, strong storms, severe storms moving in with damaging wind and flooding rainfall here as we head into the overnight hour.
02:11So now is a good time to download our free AccuWeather app to stay up to date with the latest.
02:14You can get push notifications for your specific location for storms that we're tracking heading into tonight.
