01:01The Venezuelan government reported that it has neutralized at least 402 aircraft over the years as part of its ongoing fight against drug trafficking in the territory.
01:23In this regard, the Venezuelan Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, unveiled that the most recent operation by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces was carried out in the Maroa municipality of the Amazon as a state where they disabled a logistic camp seizing strategic material from criminal groups.
01:42The operation reaffirms the continued commitment of the state in the fight against transnational organized crime, particularly in border and strategic areas, results that contrast with international narratives that attempt to criminalize Venezuela.
02:01Venezuela's Attorney General Tarek William Saab has categorically denied an alleged attack by the United States against the Venezuelan vessel in the Caribbean Sea.
02:11The highest authority of the Venezuelan public prosecutor's office described the information as an attempt to create internal instability in the country and pointed out some inconsistencies in the U.S. account of the event.

02:52Letting America and the Caribbean have been proclaimed a zone of peace based on principles such as the proscription of the threat or use of force, the unrestricted respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-interference in the internal affairs of the state.
03:09As well, we reaffirm our will to combat drug trafficking as a priority, enhancing regional and international cooperation and coordination within the framework of respect for international law and in compliance with existing legal frameworks and international conventions.
03:28The CELAC countries signing this declaration called for the promotion of a secure environment and reiterated their firm commitment to defending peace, stability, democracy and development throughout the region.
03:45In this context, the Prime Minister of Antiguan Barbuda, Gaston Brown, demanded the United States not to turn its anti-drug raid into a military escalation in the Caribbean.
03:56Brown made it clear that Antiguan Barbuda would not tolerate a greater show of military force in the hemisphere, noting his opposition to any intervention attempt.
04:07The Prime Minister warned that any military conflict would have unforeseen consequences for the entire Caribbean and urged the world powers to stop turning disputes into wars, insisting that only diplomacy and dialogue can resolve regional tensions.

05:06The world is looking at renewable energies as a key point in transition in this moment of climate crisis.
05:13And Cuba, with its Caribbean sun, is not an exception. Today, in the Cuban way, we're talking about SITMIC.
05:21Cuban rooftops show that something is changing. Faced with the challenge of the country's energy situation, a group of 23 workers decided to use their technical knowledge to find a solution in the use of renewable energies.
05:35This is the work of SITMIC, the non-agricultural cooperative that seeks to provide a concrete answer by utilizing one of the island's most valuable resources, the sun.
05:48When the cooperative submitted the initial paperwork, there was already a group of members who were committed to renewable energy, who were certain that it was the future of the country and that the country had to get involved in the use of all these forms of energy.
06:00In the case of solar radiation, it is widespread throughout the world. Countries such as Spain, Germany, China and the United States have highly developed it.
06:10However, they do not have the radiation regime that our country has, which is very favorable.
06:15It would be difficult for anyone to put a blockade on the sun. And simply, with high-quality technology that we can import, with high standards, we could work precisely on that sustainability in replacing the fossil fuels, which is so necessary for the country.
06:30On top of working with private initiatives and government agencies, the cooperative seeks to collaborate with public institutions to bring this technology to different corners of the country.
06:42In Trio Park, in the heart of Havana, this dream has become a reality. It's a pilot project designed with the national company, Geysel.
06:55It all begins with a solar panel, which captures the radiation and sends it to a battery inside the lamp.
07:03It has an automated program that turns on as night falls and turns off as dawn breaks.
07:10And it has really had a huge impact. Neighbors have told us, repeatedly, that it has been the meeting place in the midst of the blackout, where everyone, children and elderly people have found a beacon of light.
07:25We believe that any project related to renewable energy sources, which is focused on replacing fossil fuels, but also on sustainability, should not be undertaken without a community base.
07:35That is the daily work of the cooperative, trying to find solutions that have a positive impact on our society.
07:41The decision to form a cooperative is one of the keys to SITMIC's success. Teamwork and horizontal dialogue in search of solutions.
07:50We discuss every project, every solution, every proposal. And we always try to improve it with the opinion of the group. And that is how we move forward.
08:03From a social and humane perspective, the work of the cooperative is very fulfilling, and we are very satisfied to be working in this way.
08:12Like this, SITMIC continues its day to day efforts to make sure that Cuba, with its optimal climatic conditions and available technical knowledge, finds in this technology a key to its sustainable energy development.

09:48Welcome back to From the South. On Thursday, retirees from the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute mobilized in several cities across the country to reject the draft law on strengthening and sustaining credit.
10:16In Quito, protesters gathered in front of the National Assembly, while in other provinces, demonstrators protested in front of government buildings and regional headquarters of the Institute.
10:27They warned that President Daniel Novoa's initiative could turn the Institute's bank into a political and financial tool, weakening an institution built on years of contributions from workers.
10:39Among their main demands are greater transparency in the management of funds, guarantees for current and future pensions, and the participation of members and retirees in decisions that affect their social security.
10:52The Colombian government introduced a new financing law aimed at covering the current fiscal deficit. But what does it entails? Our correspondent, Hernán Tobar, gives us the details.
11:08In a national speech, President Gustavo Petro argued the relevance of the new financing law submitted to the Congress of the Republic for discussion and processing. He pointed out which sectors will be the ones to be taxed and gave the reasons for financing the draft of the general budget of the nation for 2026, for an approximate value of $140 billion.
11:31So here are some rich people who do not know what to do with their money.
