00:52In Mexico, 13 people died and 109 were injured this Sunday after the derailment of the train,
00:57which forms part of the Inter-Oceanic corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Oaxaca State,

01:07of the train, which was carrying 241 passengers and nine crew members, derailed. Of the 109
01:13people injured, 44 remained hospitalized. Emergency services transferred the injured to local hospitals
01:18and launched investigations into the cause of the accident on the Inter-Oceanic corridor
01:22project. In this scenario, rescue operations are underway. Mexican President Claudia Chainbaum
01:28addressed the accident during her morning press conference on Monday, where she reaffirmed her
01:32commitment to the families of the victims and to clarifying the incident.
01:37First and foremost, we must ensure that victims and their families receive care. To this end, the Navy Secretariat is on side.
01:43as Ara Alejandro Schwarz, the Director of IMSS Bienestar, Sue Robledo, the Director of IMSS, and a team from ISTE.
01:50Later, I will travel there to speak with the families and their families.
01:52First and foremost, we must ensure that victims and their families receive care.
01:55First and foremost, we must ensure that victims and their families receive care.
01:58There are two institutions for this purpose, to rigorously clarify what happened.
02:11The first is the Attorney General's Office.
02:13And the State's Attorney General's Office is also involved.
02:28But the Attorney General's Office is already there, conducting all the experts' examinations,
02:34with all the necessary chains of custody. They arrived yesterday and they have to conduct the investigation
02:49and report on the causes of this unfortunate accident.
02:53In this regard, Mexican authorities reported on the actions taken in response to the development
03:02and assure their top priority is guaranteeing the recovery of those injured.
03:07In this regard, Mexican authorities reported on the actions taken in response to the development
03:12and assure their top priority is guaranteeing the recovery of those injured.
03:17We already have a team working with the families of those who have died.
03:27Through the day-to-day, the entire executive committee will be incorporated with one person assigned to each family.
03:34Our priorities are the recovery of those injured and supporting the repeat families.
03:39We will continue to work closely with all Mexican government institutions, health institutions, human rights institutions
03:46and victims care institutions, as well as the state government with whom we have been working closely.
03:53In this context, Cuban President Miguel Diaz can express his solidarity with the people of Mexico after the accident.
04:03Through his social media accounts, he expressed the following,
04:06We have learned the unfortunate development of an inter-oceanic train in southern Mexico,
04:10which has resulted in numerous deaths and injuries.
04:13We send our heartfelt condolences to the Mexican people and government.
04:16All our solidarity.
04:23The Venezuelan government also expressed its solidarity with Mexico after the tragedy.
04:26Through his social media, Caracas top diplomat stated,
04:29On behalf of President Nicolas Maduro Moros and the people of Venezuela,
04:33we expressed our full solidarity with the people and government of the United Mexican States,
04:38in the wake of today's tragic accident involving a train on the inter-oceanic corridor.
04:43In this scenario, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister extended the nation's deepest condolences to the families of the victims
04:49and offered our prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured.
04:53Another topic is over the weekend.
05:00The President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Silvani Urdun, called on the United States government to cease its aggression against Venezuela
05:08and respect the Latin American nation's sovereignty.
05:12The government must be respected.
05:14Our appeal to the U.S. is to let there be discussions.
05:20Let us sit at the table instead of having wars.
05:24Instead of trying to remove governments in power.
05:29Instead of moving to each other's country because we are smaller than you and you are more equipped than us.
05:37And bullying us into submission.
05:40And so for us in the Caribbean, we are calling on the U.S. to cease that aggression against Venezuela.
05:49I think the entire Latin America and the Caribbean are singing one voice.
05:54And we can only hope that the U.S. will listen and will respect Venezuela's sovereignty.
06:09In the Bolivar National Armed Forces end of year salute ceremony on Sunday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro praised the courage of the nation's military
06:16in defending the country and maintaining peace for the people.
06:19Venezuela has been threatened by Goliath for 27 weeks now.
06:25And in these 27 weeks, our military forces have been deployed with intelligence, wisdom, patience,
06:38and learning on the ground many things that we had studied before.
06:45And I believe that these 27 weeks have made us better.
06:54These 27 weeks have reached an important effort valued in 26 years.
07:04And on Monday, the Venezuelan government expressed their rejection to the United States' arms support to Taiwan.
07:10Through an official statement, Caracas denounced this unilateral action constitutes serious interference in the internal affairs of the People's Republic of China
07:17and a flagrant violation of Washington's international commitments.
07:21Such action directly undermines China's sovereignty and territorial integrity,
07:25undermines strategic stability, and represents a blatant threat that jeopardizes peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region.
07:32In this context, Venezuela reiterated its unwavering adherence to the One China principle,
07:37recognizing that Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory.
07:41And thus reaffirmed its full support for the government of the People's Republic of China,
07:45as the sole-isdomed government representing the entire nation, including the Taiwan region.
07:56And on Monday, the Eastern Theater Command reported that the People's Liberation Army of China began joint military exercises around Taiwan involving ground, naval, air and missile forces.
08:05Spokesperson Colonel Xi Xi stated that the maneuvers began in the straits and in areas to the north, northwest, southeast, and east of the island.
08:15He noted that the exercise called Fair Mission 2025 prioritizes air and naval support alert patrols,
08:22a proper adhesive takeover, a blockade of key ports and areas, and multidimensional deterrence from external positions.
08:28He indicated that ships and aircraft are approaching the island from multiple directions to assess rapid maneuverability and integrated coordination in the execution of a systematic encirclement and control strategy.
08:41Starting December 29, the PLA Eastern Theater Command is dispatching its Army, Navy, Air Force, and Rocket Force troops to conduct drills,
08:58code-named Justice Mission 2025, in the Taiwan Strait and areas to the north, southwest, southeast, and east of Taiwan Island.
09:09The drills will focus on subjects of sea air combat readiness patrol, joint seizure of comprehensive superiority,
09:17blockade on key areas, as well as all-dimensional deterrence outside the island chain.
09:22With vessels and aircraft, troops of multiple services will engage in joint assaults to test their joint operation capabilities,
09:32with a warning against Taiwan's separatist forces and external interference, as well as legitimate action to safeguard China's sovereignty and national unity.

10:13On Sunday, an official statement was issued by the Panamanian government,
10:16in which the destruction of the Chinese cultural element at the Mirador del Puente de las Americas was condemned.
10:21The national government stated that it does not agree with the destruction of the ancestral Chinese cultural element,
10:26which represents a community with 171 years of presence in our country.
10:31They also added that it does not agree with the procedure used at night, without dialogue, without notice, and without communication with the sectors involved.
10:40In the statement, they said, consequently, the immediate restoration of the monument in its original location is ordered coordinating actions with the Chinese community of Panama and the Ministry of Culture.
10:52And Panamanian citizens have expressed their rejection to the demolition, highlighting the significance the monument held for the community.
11:04The monument was built to acknowledge the contribution made by the country's Chinese-Panamanian community.
11:11And now, at this moment, seeing a monument of some significance of calm down is, for us, something that brings surprise, pain, and incompressions.
11:23This place is a special place, not only for the Chinese community, but for everyone, because it recognizes the contribution that other cultures of the world made here to carry out something as beautiful and special as the Panama Canal.
11:43So, it's a place that holds a lot of feelings for everyone.
11:48The Bolivarian Workers' Central Union demands that the government repeal Supreme Decree 5503 and announce that it will intensify protests as a means of applying pressure.
12:00The union indicated the decision was made organically in response to statements by a minister close to President Rodrigo Paz, who confirmed that the government will not modify the articles of the decree promulgated on December 17th.
12:11In this regard, the members of the labor union detailed that they will reinforce the mobilizations at the national level starting in January under a pressure strategy that will begin with the gradual installation of picket lines under hunger strike.
12:23The various trade union organizations will seek to inform their members of the scope of Supreme Decree 5503 and will define new mobilization strategies.
12:32Meanwhile, in Ecuador, the government needs keeping the border crossings with the Republic of Colombia and Peru close while communities denounce the impact the measure has had on trade.
12:47The Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this restriction is a unilateral decision by the Ecuadorian government adopted under the justification of controlling security and combating organized crime.
12:57In this scenario, vehicle traffic is still leaving the residents of the communities of La Urbina, Tufino and El Carmelo, where approximately 9,000 people live without access.
13:09This measure also has forced people who live in Colombia and work in agriculture and livestock in Ecuador to cross on foot.
13:16Similarly, the tourism sectors on the southern border with Peru are expressing concern about the economic impact.
13:22The border closure has led to the opening of illegal crossings over the Catamayo River where uncontrolled flows of people are being observed.
13:47The United States remains on alert due to a winter storm that has caused the delay of more than 8,000 flights due to the risk of blizzards.
13:54The storm is expected to bring snow, winds and rain to parts of the west and northeast of the country, where more than 40 million people will be affected by more than 700 canceled flights.
14:04While from Pennsylvania to Maine, freezing rain and strong winds are expected, increasing the risk of icy roads and dangerous travel conditions.
14:13It was also reported that the storm is expected to move away on Monday night.
14:17A addition of snowfall could return to the Great Lakes region and last until Wednesday.
14:22The Ministry of Health reported on Sunday that a total of 12 people remained hospitalized after Saturday night's magnitude 6 earthquake,
14:34which left 25 people injured and was felt in Lima and several cities in northern Peru.
14:39In a statement, the Ministry said that the Health Emergency Operations Center reported that a total of 25 people were treated for various injuries.
14:46Of those, 12 are hospitalized and 13 have been discharged.
14:50According to the latest official report, six of the hospitalized patients are being treated in medical centers in the Ancash region,
14:57while the rest are being treated in hospitals in the La Libertad region.
15:01In Ancash, 12 more people were discharged after receiving treatment for various injuries and one patient was discharged in La Libertad.
15:10In Spain, police forces recorded the body of one of the people who went missing after torrential rains in the Andalusia Autonomous Community.
15:22The Civil Guard located the body of one of the two missing people from the localities of Al-Aurine, El Grande,
15:28who were caught in the heavy rains battering the region over the weekend.
15:31In this scenario, authorities unveiled the victim's vehicle was found upside down and severely damaged in the riverbed,
15:37about two kilometers from the point where they apparently tried to cross it.
15:41Ongoing search efforts, which include members of the Civil Guard, local police and numerous volunteers,
15:47are focused on locating a missing remaining person on the stretch between Campiñuela and La Pagaora.

16:17Welcome back.
16:36In China, the foreign ministers of Thailand and Cambodia met with their Chinese counterpart Wang Yi
16:42a view to consolidating the recently signed ceasefire agreement.
16:46The meeting aims to strengthen China's involvement in mediating the border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia.
16:52The agreement includes a 72-hour observation period during which Thailand will repatriate 18 Cambodian soldiers,
16:58held prisoners since the fighting started last July.
17:01In a statement issued by the Chinese government,
17:03it commits to donating over $2.8 million in emergency humanitarian aid to assist displaced persons in Cambodia.
17:11Iranian President Massoud Pesheshqian accused the United States, Israel and Europe of waging a large-scale war against his country.
17:25The Iranian President denounced that these powers are seeking to internally destabilize the Islamic Republic of Iran.
17:30Pesheshqian's statement reflects the escalating tensions in the Middle East,
17:35with Tehran facing economic sanctions, military threats and international pressure campaigns.
17:40This warning comes against a backdrop of growing geopolitical confrontation,
17:45with Iran defending its right to sovereignty and autonomous development in the face of hostility and coercion from Western powers and the Salonist regime of Israel.
18:01The protests, led mainly by members of the Alawid community in Western Syria,
18:05turned into armed clashes that left at least three people dead and about 60 people wounded.
18:10Thousands of people took to the streets in several cities in the coastal provinces of Latakia and Tartus,
18:16as well as in some towns in Homs and Hama.
18:19The demonstrators demanded the release of former military personnel detained after the coup against Bashar al-Assad's government in December 24.
18:27The protests also expressed rejection of the current government's exclusionary practices
18:32and denounced acts of violence committed against members of the Alawid community
18:36in the most recent attack against the community occurred inside a mosque in Homs and left eight people dead.
18:42In Palestine, authorities reported that the Israeli Occupation Army had committed a total of 418 mortars in defense,
19:11the first 80 days of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip since it came into effect on October 10, 2025.
19:18The figure includes 298 mortars by shooting, 54 by military vehicle raids in restricted areas, and 45 illegal detentions.
19:26The Palestinian government's office accused Israel of shirking its obligations under the agreement and the humanitarian protocol
19:34by preventing the agreement of aid from entering Gaza.
19:38The body also emphasized that the continuation of these aggressions constitutes a dangerous violation of the ceasefire
19:44and an attempt to impose a humanitarian equation based on subduing, starving and blackmailing.
19:49In this context, the Gaza government operations room says 200,000 prefabricated housing units are needed in the Gaza Strip
20:04to meet the needs of displaced families and provide them with safe shelter.
20:09This demand follows the recent storm that flooded and destroyed thousands of tents across the territory.
20:15The natural disaster further deepened the critical humanitarian emergency facing the population.
20:21Due to this combination of factors, a Palestinian woman lost her life when a wall collapsed onto her tent in the Ramal neighborhood, west of Gaza City.
20:29The impact was particularly devastating along the 26-kilometer Al-Rajid coastal road, where the sea severely damaged the precarious camps set up on its banks.
20:44And in Somalia, hundreds of protested on the streets of the capital Mogadishu against Israel's statements recognizing the self-proclaimed Republic of Somaliland.
20:52Protesters demonstrated their opposition to what they consider a direct challenge to national sovereignty.
20:58The protest came after Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohammed delivered a speech at an emergency session of parliament in which he condemned Israel's statements.
21:07Meanwhile, in several regions of Somaliland, thousands of people gathered in the capital, Argeisa, waving flags of the region alongside the Israeli flags, celebrating the Israeli announcement.

21:35In this context, General Mamadi Tumbuya is regarded as heading for a victory, following the ban on the main opposition leaders.
21:43Preminary results are expected to be announced in the next two days, with Tumbuya anticipated to win the first round against eight other candidates,
21:51after seemingly having no strong challenger.
