Eight more preventative detention orders have been issued for persons deemed to be threats to society.

The individuals are expected to be kept at the Eastern Correctional Rehabilitation Centre located in Santa Rosa, Arima, once they have been arrested.

00:06Three of the men are alleged to have key links to human trafficking.
00:09One is purportedly involved in plans to kill several families in East Trinidad,
00:14and another is linked to banks and casino robberies throughout the country.
00:18The others are alleged to be gang members.
00:21The preventative detention orders were published on September 2nd.
00:25However, the orders were signed on different days between August 13th and August 25th
00:31by Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander
00:34and made in accordance with the Emergency Powers Regulations 2025.
00:40The eight individuals are expected to be kept at the Eastern Correctional Rehabilitation Centre
00:45located in Santa Rosa, Arima, once they have been arrested.
