Trainer James Owen made his first trip to the U.S. to attend the Kentucky Downs race meet and watch his pupil Wimbledon Hawkeye (GB) score in the GIII Nashville Derby. The Newmarket-based conditioner joined us as this week's Gainesway Guest of the Week on the TDN Writers' Room.

00:00Now we welcome in the Gainesway Guest of the Week. It's James Owen, the winning trainer in the Nashville Derby with Wimbledon Hawkeye.
00:07Oh, fantastic weekend, yeah. I've never been to America, let alone come over with a horse and win such a big prize of that nature.
00:15And we were welcomed with open arms and a great experience for me, my owner as well.
00:23We had a great time and the result was just the ice on the cake.
00:26Our guest of the week, James Owen, was brought to you by Gainesway, home to Drain the Clock, the lightning fast grade one winning sprinter who was the first source, if you remember, to defeat champion Jackie's Warrior around one turn.
00:41That was in the Woody Stevens States. Drain the Clock's first yearlings were in demand at Saratoga.
00:47They sold for up to $270,000. Ready for this? 27 times his stud fee for an average of $110,000.
00:57And you can look for Drain the Clock's yearlings at Keeneland September.
01:01Gainesway, power, passion, performance.
01:11Drain the Clock will win and win by as much as he wants.
01:14Drain the Clock will bound home the winner.
01:22Drain the Clock. Jackie's Warrior. Drain the Clock by a head.
01:28$120,000. $100,000 in the back.
