00:00Hello and welcome to this New South Wales James weather update for Monday.
00:04Today we've got a disturbance. This is a new one. It's developed over southeast Queensland and just into the northeastern parts of New South Wales.
00:11That isn't going to add up to very much. It's nothing significant.
00:14In the south of the state we've got some leftover cloud from disturbances moving through.
00:19We no longer have the cold outbreak that we had, but the next one is developing to our southwest, which is certainly something to watch.
00:26So today, generally quite clear, except in that northeast corner and also near that southern border there.
00:31Let's have a look at day by day what to expect here.
00:34So this really isn't adding up to very much. One to two millimetres, nothing exciting today.
00:38We've just got the leftover parts of this here.
00:41Having a look at this, 1800 metres is where snow can fall down to.
00:44So we've lost the really bitter cold air from that outbreak that we had earlier on in the weekend.
00:49Here is high pressure that is coming in, putting a bit of a cap on what instability we have got.
00:54So here's Monday. Let's now have a look at Tuesday.
00:57There's the remains of that extending down the coastline as well.
00:59So onshore winds producing just a little bit of wet weather.
01:02And we have just the remains of this, the very, very last.
01:06It should be fairly dry across that southern border area.
01:08However, here's the next weather system.
01:101500 metres, 1200 metres, 900 metres, even 600 is going to be going into Tasmania.
01:16So let's watch this come through, knowing we've got a large ridge of high pressure that is stretching across in through here.
01:21So on Wednesday, the south-east gets it.
01:24Here in New South Wales, we feel a little bit of the cold air, but not like what we saw last time.
01:29We don't get much wet weather from it either.
01:31So none of the big hailstorm that came through as that first front came in.
01:35None of the big rain totals, particularly into the south-west slopes there.
01:38That is not a repeat expected this week.
01:41So here's Wednesday.
01:43Here we have Thursday.
01:44Proper cold air that is moving across the south-east here.
01:46And starting to extend its way up, particularly into Friday as it moves into the coastal regions there.
01:52But in terms of wet weather, we're not going to see a lot from this one here.
01:55Bit of cold air, not a lot of wet weather.
01:58Then let's have a look at the next disturbance.
02:00So here we have Friday.
02:01Saturday, high pressure now out to the east.
02:03So we're getting onshore winds and a bit of showery activity coming down in through there, mainly in the north.
02:08Otherwise, norsely winds.
02:10So we thaw out once again.
02:11Conditions warm up.
02:12There's Saturday.
02:13Let's have a look at Sunday as the next disturbance comes across.
02:17Monday as it comes through.
02:19Tuesday as it comes through.
02:21So this is something that has a connection to tropical moisture.
02:23It's got some nice instability coming with it.
02:26So there is the potential for some widespread rain returning in about a week's time from now.
02:31All right.
02:31What could that add up to, knowing that this is through to the end of Monday and doesn't have the rest of those falls on Tuesday?
02:37Any disturbance in the north-east here isn't really adding up to very much along the coast.
02:41It's fairly dry.
02:43Across that southern border area, we've got mainly next Monday when that's coming through.
02:47There isn't really much from that disturbance that comes through the next cold outbreak.
02:51It's more cold air rather than wet weather.
02:53And then the potential for that to come in as we go particularly into next Tuesday.
02:57Let's have a look at what that means for Sydney.
02:59Lots of sunshine today.
03:00Top of about 18, 19 tomorrow.
03:03We do have onshore winds, so we could get some light showers coming in.
03:06They won't add up to very much.
03:08Then back up to 21, 22.
03:09Now watch our temperatures take a bit of a dive once again, that cold outbreak coming through.
03:15There's hardly any wet weather with it, but there will be a little bit.
03:18It won't be quite as sunny as the last one.
03:20But have a look at our dew point.
03:21It's not bottoming out.
03:23It's not going down to zero or even negative numbers.
03:25So we're going to feel a chill in the air, but it won't be quite as severe as the last one that came through.
03:30And then mostly cloudy, then mostly sunny.
03:32Mostly sunny.
03:33It improves as we go to Sunday and Monday before that next weather system comes in.
