00:00Alabama-Florida State, oh, what is it, a pick-em?
00:02It's a Doe Campbell.
00:02No, it's not.
00:03But by the way, the 14 show, slowly disappearing to 13 and a half here.
00:10Florida State taking some money and a total of 48 and a half.
00:13Yeah, how much of that is the weather or how much of that is like, you know,
00:18just like people saying, you know, there's rain in the forecast.
00:22Now that total at one point.
00:24Love Castellanos more now, Joe.
00:25Love them more.
00:26You like them rushing and passing combined.
00:29Again, I said it in the offseason.
00:31He's so crazy opening his mouth that I might have to take the points.
00:35I'm going to take the points with Florida State.
00:37At some way, shape, or form, Mike Norvell has to save his job.
00:41I don't care what you have to throw.
00:43Bobby Knight throw a chair in the locker room.
00:45Find a way to cover this number against Ty Simpson.
00:50And, again, we know Ty Simpson's mobile.
00:53He's not Jalen Milrow mobile with 20 rushing touchdowns.
00:56And that's potentially where Florida State might have an advantage.
01:00When you look at Florida State, again, a terrible season last year.
01:03Nobody argues that.
01:04There's a lot of changes.
01:05But you'd like to play, again, Samford opening game against Alabama.
01:10Talk to me about it because the crowd is one thing.
01:13They're going to show up.
01:14They're going to tailgate.
01:15They're going to party.
01:16They want to see good football from FSU.
01:18If this game is 14-0 in the first quarter, sometimes we'd be facetious and joke around.
01:24They're going to fire this guy before the plane should hit the tarmac when they take off for their next game.
01:28But talking about Florida State and the expectations of this game, do you honestly expect them to hang around and be competitive?
01:34Or is this a runaway game for Bama?
01:36Again, I expect them to be competitive.
01:38And I expect them to do whatever it takes to win this game.
01:43And, again, if I'm in the position of Mike Norvell, I want my offense on the field first.
01:48I am not going to give the football to Ty Simpson and Kalen DeBoer and a more explosive offense and all of a sudden be staring a 7-0 first quarter deficit in my building.
01:59I want to bring electricity.
02:02I want to keep the crowd involved.
02:03If I believe that I have maybe a new wrinkle with Gus Malzahn, I'm going to roll it out with my quarter.
02:09I don't want to defer.
02:10But if I defer by the second half, I could be down 28-0.
02:13Give me the football.
02:15I want to take eight minutes off the clock, score a touchdown or a field goal, and then give the football back to Ty Simpson.
02:21If I give you Ty Simpson information, Joe, 247-1⁄2, which, again, is a legitimate number for a college football player.
02:26Like, you see some of these guys, like Thomas Castellanos, that's 166-1⁄2, just to put this in the reference.
02:31But answer me this.
02:32If I think Bama's winning, I don't think he's going over 250 passing yards.
02:36No?
02:36Because I don't think he needs to.
02:38I think he blows through that.
02:40Really?
02:40Yeah.
02:41So we're getting a ton of points today?
02:42Well, I think we can get over it.
02:44I liked it a 50-1⁄2.
02:46Again, I think we can get over it.
02:48I think if you're Florida State, well, it's not my best bet.
02:51My best bet in this game is Florida State with the points.
02:54I mean, here's the thing.
02:55Florida State needs a conservative type of attack.
03:00Ty Simpson and this offense have the best player on the field potentially in Ryan Williams, and I want to open it up.
03:06I want to put the pressure on an inexperienced quarterback in Castellanos and a team that struggled with consistency.
03:13DJ, you, this team, I almost called you Carver, D-R-S.
03:18Wow.
03:18That's how close we got now.
03:19I'm moving up.
03:20You and I are moving up.
03:21They completed 50% as a team last year, and we know Gus Malzahn at UCF wants to run the football.
03:30So, again, how much can I rely on Castellanos?
03:32Can he get to 166?
03:34Yes.
03:35But if I'm Norvell, I want to run the football.
03:38Take the 40-second clock down to zero.
03:41I think they're going to be losing, Joe, for the majority of this game, which, again, no surprise, Donny.
03:45They're 14-point dogs.
03:46But when I look at Castellanos' number, I got a bad number, 201.5, which I like his passing and rushing yards combined.
03:52He's down to 198.5.
03:54I actually look for him scrambling a ton, Joe, in this game, being under pressure, which he could get 40.
03:59If he gets 50 yards on the ground, how do I not get that?
04:02He's not going to throw for 150 yards?
04:04Well, you got four starters coming back in the secondary for Alabama, and they only allowed 182 passing yards per game.
04:11That's why I say run the football.
