At what age should children be allowed a mobile phone, with or without internet access, and why?

00:0016. To have their own personal phone with access into the internet at 16. Absolutely.
00:09A telephone, normal telephone, no problem at all. Give it from seven, eight years old, whatever.
00:15But internet access restricted to 16 at least. And I'm being kind there. I would have to go to 18
00:21really. But I think 16 in theory is okay. Right now it seems to be the whole world's
00:28own smartphones. I grew up without technology or Wi-Fi. Early 90s. So fair enough. I think
00:37it'd be like 16, 17 for phones. And I think the whole online safety bill is a complete joke and
00:42just a way to control people. And it doesn't actually provide any safety. As I was going into
00:46high school, I got my first phone and that was probably a good time to get it. I think people
00:50before me had phones from a quite early age. But kind of like you see kind of kids now who've got
00:56iPads at like three years old and stuff, which I think is a bit strange.
