Leeds: Should social media services be banned for children?

Australia is set to ban social media for under-16s. What concerns, if any, do you have about children using social media, and do you think the UK should consider similar restrictions?

00:00I feel like social media has been a massive part of our generation especially

00:05and I can't really imagine myself without it. It's very much an image of who you are,

00:10no matter what you put on there. I think the ban itself isn't going to stop people from trying.

00:17There is quite a big crisis right now where kids, all they do is they're on the tablet or on their

00:22phone and they're kind of lacking in that communication skills and I reckon that with

00:30the banning of social media or the restriction for kids under 16 I reckon it'll be a really good

00:37positive impact. There's content that it should be, it could be violent, sexual or even brainwashing

00:44young audiences. I think it should be constricted at some point but not entirely so they could be

00:49educated at one point. That's what I message my friends on, see what my mates are doing and all

00:53that but I think there should be a limit to be honest because there is some stuff out there which

00:58children should not be seeing.
