00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Houston Betts and today I'm out on the
00:03streets of Manchester asking people about energy bills and that's because while the bills do look
00:07like they're in a bit of a better position than they were a year to 18 months ago, there is still
00:11a lot of fear about the affordability of these things for people across the UK. We want to know
00:16how people think that these issues could be alleviated and what they're expecting from
00:19Rachel Reeves in the upcoming autumn budget. I mean, you know, I live in the city centre in a
00:24two bed flat and our bills have not decreased at all, even over summer. We haven't had, you know,
00:30any sort of heating on or anything like that. I'm not too sure they are getting much better at the
00:34moment to be honest because there's rises again and the energy companies are still in control
00:39quite a lot of what offers in a vertical and what offers they can give you and so I joined about
00:47four years ago, I can't remember the company off the top of my head, but I joined a company who
00:50do searches for me every year and if they find a better deal they let me know and I can opt in to swap.
