With the energy price cap in focus, we asked people in Birmingham whether they’re concerned about bills going up again—and what they think Rachel Reeves should announce in the autumn statement to ease the pressure.

00:00Fortunately, I'm not concerned for us personally in terms of rising bills because we're always under budget to allow for over cost.
00:10But I can understand that for lots of families, the cost of gas and electricity being a worry.
00:18So sadly, not putting heating on.
00:20And I know we read some news stories about people giving up the eating, mums and dads, so their kids can eat and they can put the bills on.
00:28So sadly, it doesn't sound like I'm talking about the UK, but I am.
00:32So it is a real concern.
00:35What should Rachel Reeves do about it?
00:39I'm not sure she can single-handedly do anything about the energy industry in particular.
00:46But more generally, I think that I don't want to talk politics, but as a nation, we need to, and as a government,
00:55we need to live within our means and stop borrowing so much money.
