Are energy bills too high?

The energy price cap increased in January, meaning the average household now pays £1,738 per year. Is this too much? The UK has some of the world’s most expensive energy—should we ditch expensive green energy proposals to lower costs?

00:00To be quite honest, I think the cost of energy has soared and I think it's disgraceful the

00:05government have taken the cost of the winter fuel payment off people. They're not keeping

00:10the politics, the traditions they were promising to do and they've gone totally against their

00:16word.

00:17It is really too much, isn't it? I reckon they should only really pay like £5 a year

00:23We shouldn't really pay that much, should we? No, we're not getting any extra benefits

00:27are we? The hot water hasn't gone up higher has it, do you know what I mean? We're not.

00:31The heating doesn't go up higher, it's the bills that just go higher, not the actual

00:35what we're paying for. The fuel's not higher. So, no, we shouldn't have to pay higher.

00:40We should concentrate and bring the bills down, yeah.

00:44We should keep on green energy for the environment for lower cost. But you've got to remember

00:49the cost of living has gone up and up and up and some people have got nowhere and that

00:54is making people homeless.

00:56We're the worst country for paying our bills, aren't we really?
