00:00um fred taylor is on the toyota of hollywood hotline fred taylor of course part of the pivot
00:06with crowder and ryan clark and everyone knows i'm guessing fred's history at uf and with the jags
00:14i learned two things about fred taylor today though that i did not know and i don't know
00:17if people know this because i was looking at his wikipedia um i had no idea that he played
00:22two seasons with the patriots did you know that crowder did you have any recollection of that
00:28was it against you i knew it but he ain't do much but i knew it what hold on man this is the
00:36introduction i get first of all i thought you guys were going to say fred taylor was on the toilet
00:42i don't know where that came from but uh crowder knows he knows that i played for the patriots for
00:49a cup of coffee two years didn't do a ton i went up there one is starting job got banged up both
00:54years unfortunately the first time i experienced turf toe the worst injury in football
01:00worst injury but uh yeah no recollection of that the experience was amazing it was total amazing
01:06experience across the board the uh the other thing that i learned which i didn't know is that he grew
01:12up in bell glade and went to glade central i did not know that i was not aware that you were a local
01:18guy my first radio job was in bell glade at sugar 900 the radio sugar 900 mug city on the lake wow
01:26sugar 900 i remember uh my my fondest memory is the football games before i started playing what
01:33just hearing the football games on sugar 900 every friday night and i said i wanted to be out there
01:38playing and eventually they played central a hokey and glade central i mean that was that's religion
01:44out there i've heard man i've heard the story fred tell them tell them when you got cut from a team
01:50but didn't make a team and you started running around the city and you built yourself into what
01:56you are yeah it's a great story yeah no i mean uh i was a little crybaby man i was a kid in the
02:02neighborhood who you know i wouldn't get picked i was on the sideline and you know they they make
02:08fun of me i just sit there i wanted to play but they wouldn't pick me so i would i would cry so i
02:12went away uh i went out for the airport park league i went out played tight end and d tackle dropped all
02:19of the passes i i was fast but i was awful and uh it was the same high school glade's day that my son
02:26eventually broke all of those records at i remember every friday night i would go and watch him play
02:31i would still see that scoreboard same scoreboard that score 31 to 13 we got blew out by the
02:37jets because i dropped three potential touchdowns but either way um i just wanted to challenge
02:44myself i ran around the entire city to see if i could do it i went away for a few months and when i
02:50came back i was as big and as strong and as fast as most of the guys in the neighborhood after about
02:55really close to a year i said a few months but close to a year and then they couldn't pick on me
03:00no more i turned into the best athlete was the only one that went pro uh really from my neighborhood
03:06and the rest is history so i just went and grinded man and god looked out for me
03:12kind of kind of happened with solana too right solana weren't you tired of getting picked on and
03:17then you uh you kept walking briskly around town and country
03:23all worked out i'm talking to freddie t a couple years later
03:26he was honorable mention on the all day team soccer hey let's let's oh yeah i i want you got
03:34any more eligibility don't do that fred i was gonna say because i got i got a soccer team in
03:39jacksonville called sporting jacks hey fred i uh i've got my uh my pickleball championship medal from
03:47this past weekend these guys you know they want to talk about uh some jokes here but i'm just out
03:52here stacking uh stacking championships you know what i mean stacking stacking chips what kind of
03:57pressure the pringles but listen no so pivot pivot energy what we're gonna do is we're gonna get into
04:04pickleball because it's untapped uh uncharted territory so we feel that pivot performance
04:10energy might be a good space for pickleball so you can you can be our first deal our first nil athlete
04:18what do you say cherny now it's got to go to rc for a vote rc's gonna be the set because fred's
04:26voting for solana crowd is voting against him we got to ask rc to be the deciding vote here
04:32his feet is he'll have no fleet feet he can't he can't really move like that but he got he got he
04:38got a medal they're giving him away now like what's he playing 70 old women
04:46with bad knees hey hey we all we all saw crowder we all saw crowder try to bench i don't know why
04:54he's talking smack over here this guy got half a rep up of 225. yeah benches like a 70 year old woman
05:01benches like such a such an embarrassment but i think channing is he's very smart and calculated
05:08he's calculated crowder i don't know if he would have got three so in order to say embarrassment
05:14for not getting three he said i'm not gonna get any and just play into it i believe that's my guy
05:19playing chess i don't know but i know i have video of him doing push-ups we set out to do 20. one night
05:27we're in nashville when we first started to pivot and we went to do 20 push-ups and it was about one
05:371 30 in the morning and uh you know broadway you know how it goes he did maybe three push-ups
05:42and tapped out so i don't know i was drunk fred i was drunk i feel like denzel on flight i'm drunk
05:51i'm drunk right now you can't get me at 1 30 in the morning well yeah you're right let's let's talk
05:59football for a second so we don't waste all our time with fred taylor um and and you saw the jags
06:05and the dolphins last saturday night preseason finale i want to ask the question i know you're
06:10a jags guy what what's the the difference between tua and trevor lawrence is there a huge difference
06:17between two and trevor lawrence would you take one over the other what do you see in tua what
06:22do you see in trevor that's different well i think out the gate i'm taking a 6-6 guy who's won a couple
06:29national championships in college um that's a great question man honestly that's a that's a great
06:36question hawk um right now man both guys have been battling injuries throughout their career
06:42you know we're looking for trevor to make that leap he was the first number one overall pick
06:47in the entire draft so expectation wise you would one would expect him to be you know further along
06:54than tour is right now although tour is a you know early round uh pick guy and a franchise guy um
07:02i don't know if either guys have lived up to their draft pick potential um tour he's dealt with the
07:10concussions so that makes it tough on him i don't know when when he's healthy he he has shown a lot
07:17of upside a lot more than trevor had you know i believe what was it two years ago before the the
07:23concussions got really bad what was it four thousand four four thousand plus yards passing or something like
07:30that so when mcdaniel's first arrived so he's shown has shown some potential then he had the setbacks
07:36obviously with the concussions and stuff and then that the team just started to kind of dissipate and
07:42all sorts of stuff started to happen to to the dolphins over the last two years uh trevor his best
07:50game was probably the playoff games in which he threw four picks but he came back and brought them back and
07:55they were able to go to divisional round to face the uh the chiefs other than that i don't see any real
08:03standout performances so trevor i believe has a long way to go you know there are some whispers
08:09there in jacksonville uh that you know not that they're not happy with him i'm happy with trevor
08:16i know i still have faith in trevor i love him as a person uh still waiting for him to make that leap
08:23and hopefully uh liam cohen can can help him you know take that leap and he's had several coordinators in
08:31his four five year career uh yeah five year career so it's been some ups and downs he had a rocky start
08:37with urban meyer there um but i don't know smart has the tools just gotta he just has to turn it over
08:46man um pound for pound i don't see a huge difference in terms of output between the two guys freddie with
08:55that talking about liam cohen duval that's your man but talk to talk about him and then mcdaniel is
09:02really on the hot seat bro i think this year him and chris grid miami the gm they have to do something
09:08they have to win a playoff game have won a playoff game 25 years and all that but through your time
09:12like how much does the coach matter if you're you were talented bro you were 230 running a 4-2 that's
09:18just god giving like you said god helped you and you ran you ran around dirty ass bell glade
09:23and got faster but i'm talking about bell glade that way where are you talking about my hometown
09:29big pride in my hometown but how much to the to the even to the thing about two of mcdaniel
09:35now trevor and liam cohen how much does the coach how much does the does the scheme help a player that's
09:42naturally talented two is naturally talented and trevor lawrence is naturally talented but now
09:47what does a coach do for a player like that i mean i think systems matter just take andy reed for
09:53example he's like the qb whisperer right he's had some qbs in his time alex smith a few other guys
10:00alex smith left kc went off to uh washington you didn't hear about him again you know you have guys
10:06like when big red was in in philly uh the donovan mcnabs you know what he was able to do for mcnab in
10:13his career uh even mike vick later in his career when he got up to philly and now what he's doing
10:20over in casey you can plug and play almost let me be careful saying this because patty mahomes he's
10:27he does things that we've never seen before but that's just essential ways it just makes him that
10:32much better that much more elite to pair him up with andy reed we've seen backups get in that system
10:40and do well you know uh i'm having a brain slippage here miami um uh uh yeah who was in jacksonville
10:47chat yeah henny right he's gotten in there a few few opportunities uh and played well under that
10:54system so systems matter coaches matter how you how your coached matter you know the brady belichick
10:59conversation brady's great but bill taught brady how to be a pro so you have to have these quarterback
11:07coach relationships but the actual systems matter uh and you have to put time on task you know i don't
11:13know how much time these guys are getting in with their coordinators or their qb coach or even the head
11:18coach but all of that stuff matters man and you can see one guy play at you know 80 percent somewhere
11:26uh but he goes to another system and he lights out because the system is simplified simplified when
11:32mcdaniel first arrived here in miami everybody thought the dolphins gonna be unstoppable they
11:38were doing some amazing thing the league was on notice and then the league caught up with it
11:43uh and then now you see see some struggles here and there i do think they have to win this year
11:49i do think uh the media is going to double down and press that issue and the ownership they're going to
11:55pay attention to that you know that's kind of how coach coughlin ended up uh getting out of
12:00jacksonville the media kind of doubled down said he's working the guys too hard they need a player
12:05friendly coach a year later he was fired uh i believe he was fired two years too soon because
12:11he was in the super bowl three three years after that with the giants uh but that's neither here nor
12:17there but coaches matter coaches got to put the time in they can't cut corners they got to put the time
12:23in the quarterbacks gotta you know make it their job they gotta live in a building and as long as those
12:29two are firing on all cylinders you give yourself an opportunity to be successful across the board
12:35as a unit as a team to that point fred i think one of the bigger concerns outside regarding the dolphins
12:42is what's going on inside the locker room with mike mcdaniel with his presence as a head coach
12:49and even you know tyree kill everybody knows the situation there i just wonder you were captain in
12:55jacksonville you were somebody who was widely respected across the league how would you deal
12:59with that situation where you have a head coach and i'm talking about as a leader in that locker
13:04room right you have a head coach some people maybe overstepped uh their boundaries with him a season ago
13:10he's trying to regain some of that respect and you have a quote-unquote leader the superstar of the team
13:15who quit on the team last year and this year is trying to get back into the good graces of the locker
13:20room yeah i mean uh the the the players gotta they gotta vet the locker room you gotta have to have
13:26some guys in the locker room that really want to win that's gonna snatch you know the living crap out
13:32of that person and say look we're not doing that like this this is how it's supposed to be you know coach
13:39maybe needs a a bodyguard uh player he needs someone on the team that's on his side someone that really
13:46cares about winning football and they gotta throw all the other stuff out who is that guy in miami
13:52who who's that guy down here you know in jacksonville we had a few guys that police the locker room and
13:59that's what made us as good as we were when we were good we had guys in a locker room that can do that
14:05in new england when i was there you know the tom brady's people bought in the willie mcginnis's
14:10you know before i got there like that was their uh people talk about culture but i think that's
14:16misused uh a term a lot of times i think it should be more about you know what's their um
14:26i believe like what's the standard what's the standard in miami regardless of whatever the respect
14:33level is for mcdaniel what do we want to be as as as men right as football players we want to come
14:40and just steal checks and not do anything we want to come party and hang out south beach you know
14:46brickle like what do we want to do it's already enough distractions here or do we want to tap in
14:52and really play football these guys got to ask they got to find out their why you know it ain't got
14:57nothing to do with coach mcdaniel right it's about the guys in a locker room showing up and policing
15:03that locker room and then mcdaniel he can kind of coach and and take some off his plate and not worry
15:10about being friends with those guys it's about the locker room and they got to figure it out in that
15:15locker room fred taylor i mean we're gonna have you on during football season if you've got the time
15:21because we enjoy talking to you how because we're out of time how can people get because crowder can't
15:26answer any of this how can people get the pivot energy drink because every time anything we ask
15:35them about the pivot who'd you have on i don't know when does it drop i don't know what are you
15:39guys mc i don't know how can people get the brand new pivot energy drink yeah the pivot is just one of
15:46those machines that just keep rolling we don't know most of the time but somehow it happens uh but
15:52no you know crowder doesn't know it's not we you know crowder doesn't know he doesn't uh check his
15:59text messages he's an awful texter uh but no it's uh it's at pivot pivot energy drink dot com is where
16:10you can get it so it'll be in the store shortly what we wanted to do was via our uh community that
16:16watches the podcast we just want to increase visibility there first and foremost so that when
16:21it is in the stores people are aware that it's in the stores otherwise it will just sit on the shelf
16:26and if you're not selling x amount of skews within uh on a weekly basis then they snatch you off the
16:32shelf so right now strategically we're only pushing it through pivot energy uh dot com uh soon to be
16:39amazon to follow here but uh if you just tap into the podcast we have the qr code and all different
16:46other places that we can send you to the website to purchase so it's an amazing product we believe
16:53uh in a competitive space but it's good we did really well with it so we gotta sip you guys some
16:59cases so you guys can check it out do you see how smart my airport husband is bro oh my goodness
17:07when he started talking about moving skews because they're gonna rip the shelf space away if you don't
17:12like that that's a businessman right there hey so did you catch that right he called me his airport
17:20husband so i give him my hookup i have um concierge key when we fly or most times my status is a lot
17:28better than his he just got tsa pre-checked so i get him on the plane i get him to skip his boarding
17:34class he was like oh this is just my boo right here my airport husband i'm his husband when we're
17:40boarding flights it's awful and embarrassing because i was on seven he's he's concierge key
