00:00The High Court has dismissed lawyer Hanif Khatri Abdullah's 12.5 million ringgit claim

00:05in legal fees against Bersatu for legal services rendered between 2016 and 2020.

00:11Justice Akhtatahe ruled that the evidence presented in court by defendants Bersatu,

00:16Party President Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy President Hamza Zainuddin, and Treasurer Salih

00:21Bajuri was more credible.

00:23The judge said Hanif never issued bills, discussed or informed the defendants that his services

00:28were for payment and that the billing only came after the Sheraton move in 2020.

00:32The court also found that the defendant's inaction regarding Hanif's invoices was justified

00:37as no prior agreement for payment was established between him and Bersatu.

00:42Hanif was ordered to pay Bersatu 150,000 ringgit in costs, though he later told reporters that

00:47he was likely to appeal against today's decision.

00:50The lawyer filed his lawsuit in 2021, seeking to recover 12.5 million ringgit in legal fees

00:55from the party for services rendered, and alleged that he had issued invoices to the party,

01:00but received no response.
